Chapter Twenty-Nine:
An Unexpected Surprise Kidnapping
Amy sat in the living room of her house, looking at her stacks of Tarot Cards. After Sonic and his doubles had raced off to confront the Eggmen, she'd retreated to her place until the others had need of her. Amy wasn't useless, she was ready for action, and her Piko-Piko Hammer was by her side.
The pink hedgehog had watched the news, seeing the events that had gone down in Westopolis. And, as usual, Sonic had driven off the doctor's forces. No less than an hour later, Tails had contacted her that two versions of herself from another universe were in their universe and they were princesses.
Hearing this, Amy wasn't too surprised in light of what was going on. If multiple Sonics, multiple Eggmen, and multiple Tails' were running about, then where were the multiple Knuckles', and multiple Amys?
Amy was ready to meet her counterparts, and probably have a cup of tea with them. Then again, it probably wasn't a good idea to have tea with alternate variants of yourself while a mad scientist was running amuck with his counterparts in an effort to obliterate his long-time nemesis and conquer everything for himself.
She pulled out a pair of cards from her rack, and looked at them all. One card had been showing an odd-looking humanoid hedgehog, probably one of Sonic's variants, which Amy had trouble trying to figure out.
Looking at the card for a little longer, she then pulled another card, one that showed a monster with a black emerald atop its head. The monster was obscured in shadow, but Amy could see an orange mustache.
It had to be connected to Eggman, even though the description on the back of the card seemed to indicate the creature Amy was seeing was not a Badnik.
'If it's not a Badnik, then what is it supposed to be...?' The magical hammer girl thought.
Whatever it was, that Eggman-mustached monster was really important, and it looked very dangerous. Meanwhile, there were supposed to be only seven Chaos Emeralds, so what was that dark-colored emerald on the creature's head?
Amy grabbed another card, one that showed a black emerald just like the one on the card that depicted the Eggman monster.
'The Black Emerald?' Amy thought, studying the card and its description, 'Where have I heard about this before? It sounds familiar. According to a legend from a long time ago, an ancient cult attempted to use an artifact called the Black Emerald, but it's not supposed to exist. So... Hold on a minute!'
Her fingers wrapped around another card, and Amy pulled out as she set aside the Black Emerald card.
That was when she saw a new image upon the new Tarot Card, one that depicted a robotic hedgehog breaking through a window while carrying a pink hedgehog. Amy frowned, her Tarot Cards predicted the future, and these images were important. In fact, that robot looked like...
SMASH!
Amy yelped and put her cards away as fast as she could. Metal Sonic flew through the broken window and into the room, its eyes flashing a bright shade of red, and lunged at Amy. She reached for her hammer, but Metal swatted it away, then he reached out and grabbed her with his open claws.
And before Amy could put up a struggle, Metal Sonic rocketed out of her house and soared into the sky with the pink hedgehog in his clutches again, and Amy's efforts to free herself were all for naught...
