Chapter 7: Spirit of Competition

At Air Temple Island, Tenzin and Korra were sitting across from Koji in the main room.
"I can't believe it. My best friend can airbend and firebend at the same time." Korra said.
"How is this even possible? The only one who can bend more than one element is the Avatar." Tenzin asks.
"I don't know it just sort of happened. I'm still trying to figure that out." Koji admits.
"When did this start?" Tenzin asks.
"Around the time you first brought me to Republic City. I kept my airbending a secret so not to raise heads." Koji said.
"So all those times you sat with me while I trained Jinora, Ikki and Meelo?" Tenzin asks.
"I was taking notes on all your lessons so I could train afterward and perfect my airbending." Koji finishes.
"Aw man so even Koji can airbend better than me?" Korra groans but Koji smirks at her.
"Who else knows about this?" Tenzin asks.
"Right now, you two and Amon after I blasted him and the spies listening in on us." Koji said looking down the hall. "Come on out you three!"
"Huh?" Tenzin looks to see Jinora, Ikki and Meelo come out of hiding. "What are you three still doing up?!"
"Sorry daddy." Jinora cringed.
"Wow I can't believe Koji can airbend like us!" Ikki said excited as they ran over.
"Think fast Koji!" Meelo said throwing a plate at him but Koji quickly creates a ball of air stopping it.
"Gotta admit it feels good telling someone about this." Koji smiles.
"Amazing." Tenzin said in awe.
"So no one else knows? Not even your girlfriend?" Korra asks with venom in that last part.
"No Asami doesn't know. She just thinks I'm only a Firebender. Right now, the fewer people who know the better." Koji said.
"Wouldn't be the first time you kept a big secret from someone." Korra mumbles which Tenzin noticed.
"Koji why don't we continue this tomorrow? You mind putting your cousins to bed?" Tenzin asks.
"Sure." Koji nods getting up.
"Hey Koji can tomorrow we have an Air Scooter race? Or maybe glider flying or maybe even cool tricks?" Ikki asks excited causing him to chuckle.
"Maybe Ikki." Koji said leading them out.
"Well I guess I better go to bed too." Korra said standing up.
"Hold on a second Korra I have something I wanna ask you." Tenzin said as she turned to him.
"Something wrong Tenzin?" She asks.
"Not with me at least. What's going on? Ever since Tarrlok's ball you and Koji have been a little distant." Tenzin asks.
"It's nothing." Korra said turning around in a huff.
"Korra I've known you and Koji since you were kids. Best friends don't just act like this out of nowhere." Tenzin said.
"Did you know Koji was dating Asami?" Korra asks.
"Of course I did." Tenzin said.
"Great so literally everyone but me knew Koji was dating someone." Korra groans.
"He's told you many times. It's not his fault all you ever did was tease him." Tenzin said.
"Yeah well…maybe I teased him because I really liked him." Korra admits.
"Then why didn't you ever do anything?" Tenzin asks.
"Well I was the Avatar he was a White Lotus kinda thought that we would get together sooner or later." Korra admits.
"Korra, Koji is not just some coat you can put in the closet until you're ready. His life goes on and maybe he got tired of waiting for you." Tenzin said.
"But what am I supposed to do? Tenzin this is something so new to me." Korra said.
"Maybe you need to try just talking with Koji. Be patient and try to figure this out." Tenzin suggests.
"What is it with you and patience?" Korra groans.
"It's an airbending thing." He chuckles.
Sighing Korra walked out. She faced lots of challenges while training to be the Avatar but love was a different challenge altogether.
Soon they were at the Probending arena where Korra was training with Mako and Bolin while Koji sat nearby and watched.
"It's been great having you at so many back-to-back practices, Korra." Mako said as they all took off their helmets.
"Feels good to be back, although Tarrlok isn't too happy about my leave of absence." Korra admits.
"Oh he'll live." Koji brushes it off speaking from experience.
"Yeah besides you joined the Fire Ferrets long before joining his task force." Bolin pointed out.
"Okay team huddle up." Mako said as the three of them moved in. "It's our first match of the tournament tonight. I know the three of us haven't been a team for very long, but even so, the Fire Ferrets have never been this good. Are we ready?"
"We're ready." They all said.
"Not yet you are. You guys will need these." Asami said walking in with their new uniforms that had the Future Industries Logo.
"Hey Asami." Koji smiles getting up.
"Hey sweetie." Asami smiles as he walks over to her while Korra growls annoyed.
"Sweetie?" Korra asks.
"These new uniforms look great." Mako said examining them.
"You guys are gonna rock this tournament." Koji said.
"I hope so." Bolin said as Koji handed them each their new uniform.
"Here you go." Koji said holding out Korra's and she yanks it out of his arm.
"Thanks." Korra said not looking him in the eyes.
"I'll see you guys at the tournament later tonight. Asami and I have a lunch date." Koji said as Asami took his hand and they walked out.
"I'm happy for Koji." Mako said.
"I'll say, landing a girl like Asami. Some guys have all the luck." Bolin said causing Korra to twitch. "So Korra what do you say—"
"I gotta head back to the air temple to train with Tenzin. See ya!" Korra said walking away from him.
"Was it something I said?" Bolin asks.
"Uh Bolin I don't think now is a good time to talk to Korra." Mako said.
Later that day as the sun was setting, Jinora, Ikki and Korra were feeding the lemurs.
"So how are things going now that Koji can do airbending?" Jinora asks.
"First he has a girlfriend and now he has a second bending. It's like he's doing this just to hurt me." Korra said.
"Korra. Do you like Koji?" Ikki asks causing Korra to flinch.
"What? No, besides he's all into that prissy, beautiful, elegant, rich girl...but let's just pretend for a second I am interested in him. What would I do?" Korra asks.
"Ooh. I just read a historical saga where the heroine fell in love with the enemy general's son, who's supposed to marry the princess. You should do what she did." Jinora said eager.
"Tell me." Korra said interested.
"She rode a dragon into battle and burned down the entire country. Then she jumped in a volcano. It was so romantic." Jinora sighs causing Korra to cringe.
"Uh I'm not so sure about that one." Korra said.
"No! No! No!" Ikki said moving in. "The best way to win a boy's heart is to brew a love potion of rainbows and sunsets that makes true lovers sprout wings and fly into a magical castle in the sky, where they get married and eat clouds with spoons and use stars as ice cubes in their moonlight punch. Forever and ever and ever!" Ikki said excitedly.
"The volcano is starting to make more sense to me now." Korra said causing Pema to giggle surprising them. "Oh, hey Pema. Uh, how long were you standing there?"
"Long enough. Korra what's going on? Is this about Koji?" Pema asks.
"That obvious huh?" Korra asks.
"Well Tenzin told me a little." Pema nods.
Sighing Korra looks to her. "I know I always teased, but…I really liked him and now he's with someone else."
"Korra the problem is you didn't make a move was because you thought Koji was always gonna be there. Life isn't like that. Trust me I know." Pema said surprising her.
"You do?" Korra asks.
"Years ago, I was in the exact same situation, with Tenzin." Pema admits getting their attention.
"Daddy was in love with someone else before you?" Ikki asks.
"That's right." Pema nods.
"So what did you do?" Korra asks.
"Well, for the longest time, I did nothing. I was so shy and scared of rejection, but watching my soul mate spend his life with the wrong woman became too painful. So I hung my chin out there and I confessed my love to Tenzin. And the rest is history." Pema smiles.
"Wow." Korra, Ikki and Jinora sigh.
Hearing this, Korra smiles getting an idea.
That night at the Probending Arena the tournament was about to begin.
"Folks, after a year of waiting the Pro-bending Championship is finally here. Tonight is the first set of matches in our single elimination sixteen team bracket. And I gotta tell ya, these are the most tenacious and talented bending trios this arena has ever seen." Shiro said as the audience cheered ready for this.
"Introducing our first team, the Future Industries Fire Ferrets!" The announcer said as Mako, Korra and Bolin entered.
"Whoo! Go Ferrets!" Turning around Korra saw Koji waving at them from the changing area.
"And their opponents, the Red Sands Rabaroos!" The announcer said as the Rabaroos entered.
As the bell rang both teams were on the attack.
The Rabaroos try to get the upper hand but the Fire Ferrets knock them around with ease and knock the Rabaroos back a zone.
"What an explosive opening volley. Both teams quickly recover and unleash a barrage of bending. I am astonished with the level of improvement displayed here by the Fire Ferrets. No wonder the Avatar has been absent from the papers lately. She's obviously had her nose to the grindstone in the gym." Shiro announces.
Moving in Mako unleashes his fire attacks causing the team to divide. Using this chance Bolin and Korra knock all three members to ground as the bell rang.
"And the Fire Ferrets take round 1!" Shiro said.
As Round Two starts, Koji watches as the three of them easily deflect their attacks and knock them back claiming round 2 before totally destroying them in Round 3.
"All three rounds go to the Future Industries Fire Ferrets to win the opening match of the tournament!" The announcer declares.
In the changing room, Koji cheers for them as Mako, Korra and Bolin came back.
"Wow you were guys on fire out there. Those guys didn't stand a chance." Koji smiles.
"All that training really paid off." Korra said.
"Makes me wonder if I should step into the ring." Koji said.
"You do realize to do that you would have to kick Mako off the team." Korra smirks.
"Hmm maybe not." Koji said causing her to chuckle.
"Hey uh Koji what do you say you and I go hang out? I mean with all that's going on when was the last time you and I spent time together?" Korra asks.
"Really? Wow Korra, I don't know I'm kind of—" Koji said nervously.
"Look, I really like you and I think we are meant for each other." Korra blurts out causing both to blush at that.
"W-Whoa, Korra?" Koji said.
"Uh yeah." She said.
"I'm sorry, I-I-I gotta go." Koji said walking out leaving Korra crushed.
Seeing this Mako and Bolin cringed.
"Aw man Korra likes Koji? So much for me getting to date her." Bolin groans.
"Bro, now is not the best time to try and get a date." Mako said as they walk over.
"Hey Korra you okay? Bolin asks concerned.
"I'm fine." Korra said.
"Hey uh how about we all go out as a team and celebrate? We know a good Noodle place." Mako said.
"I don't know." Korra said as she looks down the hall to see Koji meet with Asami.
"Come on Korra, we deserve this. Let us be your friends." Bolin offers.
"Well…okay." Korra nods.
At Elemental Noodles, Naga sat outside while inside Korra sat with Mako and Bolin as they each had a bowl.
"Well guys to our first win!" Mako said.
"To us!" Bolin and Mako said clinking glasses before they dug in.
"Man this is good." Korra smiles digging in.
"Yeah Bolin and I come here often." Mako said.
"We even have our picture on the wall." Bolin points.
Korra looks over and sees Mako and Bolin smiling in one picture however next to it was Koji and Asami together and immediately she frowned.
"Bolin." Mako gestures to the other picture and he gasps.
"Uh forget I said that!" Bolin said.
Korra was about to go back to eating when she noticed one guy with a really weird hairdo looking at her.
"Hey, who's that creepy guy over there who keeps glaring at us?" Korra asks and when Mako and Bolin look both quickly look back.
"Those guys are our big competition." Bolin whimpers.
"That's Tahno and the Wolfbats, they've been the champs 3 years running." Mako said.
"Don't mess with him Korra, he's nasty." Bolin warns as Tahno walks over.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't the Fire Ferrets. Pro-bending's saddest excuse for a team. Tell me, how did a couple of amateurs like you luck your way into the tournament? Especially you, Avatar. You know, if you'd like to learn how a real pro bends, I could give you some private lessons." Tahno mocks.
"You wanna go toe-to-toe with me, pretty boy?" Korra glares standing up.
"I'll give you the first shot." He smirks.
"Korra don't. You hit him and we're out of the tournament." Mako warns.
"He's baiting you." Bolin said.
Reaching up Korra whistles for Naga who bursts in roaring at Tahno causing him to fall back as his group catches him.
Almost immediately both Mako and Bolin laugh as they walked away.
"Okay I take back everything I ever said about you." Mako smiles.
"That was awesome!" Bolin said.
"Thanks guys. It's good to know I've got friends like you." Korra smiles.
Back at the arena, Korra looks to see Koji sitting with Asami by the changing area.
"I'll see you in a bit sweetie." Asami said.
"Can't wait." Koji said as she gives him a kiss on the lips before she walks in the opposite direction.
"Wow you two look so happy together." Korra glares walking over to him.
"Korra." Koji said annoyed.
"You kiss her all the time but when I wanna kiss you, you turn me down?" Korra asks.
"You were only interested in me because you found out I was already dating Asami." Koji said.
"I didn't know." Korra said.
"Yeah you didn't because you never listened to me! You just took me as a joke and teased me about everything! The reason I'm with Asami is that she actually takes me seriously, she doesn't laugh at me, she loves me." Koji said.
"Uh hello did you even hear what I said not too long ago?" Korra asks.
"Korra, Asami and I have been together for two years now and you think I'm just gonna call all that off because you have new feelings for me? What kind of guy do you think I am?" Koji asks.
"Clearly not the best friend I grew up with." Korra said.
"Yeah right back at ya." Koji said walking away.
Growling Korra walked into the changing area.
"Stupid Koji, ignoring me for that snobby rich girl, kissing her like that." Korra mumbles.
In the arena, the Fire Ferrets were about to face off again.
Looking to the changing area, Korra looks to see Koji looking at her with his arms crossed causing her to huff.
"Eight teams have been eliminated and eight advance into the quarter-finals, which get underway way tonight. The rookies are about to take on the former and longest-reigning champs, the Boar-q-pines. Youth clashes against experience in a battle for the ages, or rather of the ages." Shiro said.
As Korra looks to the Boar-q-pines she growls ready to win when she sees the faces change to show all three members looked like Asami.
"What's a matter Korra? Jealous?" One Asami said.
"Koji is an amazing kisser, not that you'll ever know." The second Asami said.
"Koji is all mine." The last one said as the bell rang.
Roaring in anger Korra went on the attack firing multiple water attacks trying to hit the other team but because of her blind rage the Boar-q-pines block and knock her back into Mako knocking them both into zone 2.
Bolin tries to fight on his own but the three knock him back as well.
"Round one goes to the Boar-q-pines!" The announcer said.
"Korra what happened back there? You're on defense." Mako asks they got up.
"I had an opening so I took it!" Korra snaps.
"What is up with you? Pull yourself together." Bolin insists.
As Korra looks back at the other team she saw she was still seeing Asami on all their faces.
"No wonder Koji picked me over you." Asami smirks.
While Korra let herself be distracted Bolin and Mako struggled to pick up the slack and while Korra constantly launched her attacks the other team dodged allowing Mako and Bolin to knock them back winning them round 2.
"The Ferrets are having a rough time finding their rhythm tonight, but thanks to Mako and Bolin, they narrowly notch round two. Not sure what's eating them, but this is not the same team who took out the Rabaroos." Shiro said.
As Round 3 started both teams went at it but thanks to Korra's fantasy she was knocked around easy.
"Round three is a tie. We go to a tie-breaker to decide the match." The announcer said as they lined up and the ref flipped a coin to see who would pick the element.
"The Fire Ferrets win the coin toss." The ref said.
Korra was about to step in when Mako stops her. "No Korra, not this time." Mako said.
"I'll go." Bolin said stepping forward. "We choose Earth."
As the Boar-q-pine's earthbender steps up they all watched as the middle circle rose so it was just the two of them.
Both Earthbenders fire disks at each other, as the Boar-q-pine Earthbender moves in Bolin rolls out of the way before moving in for a grapple but the other guy flips him into the air.
Recovering Bolin fires a disk from the air knocking him to the edge before launching two more disks knocking him off.
"The Future Industries Fire Ferrets win their quarterfinal match!" The announcer said as Bolin cheers.
"Yes!" Mako and Korra cheer.
"Oh, that was a close one folks! Youth trumps experience tonight." Shiro said.
At Air Temple Island, Korra was under a balcony when Koji walks over.
"Wow Korra, they kicked you butt tonight." Koji said.
"Save your breath Koji. I don't wanna hear it." Korra said not even looking at him.
"See that's it right there. You never wanna listen to me, Korra. You just wanna tease, tease and mess with me forever." Koji said annoyed as she turns to him.
"Oh I didn't realize I was SO unbearable. You're not exactly easy to be with yourself pal." Koji said.
"Easier than you. Do you have any idea how what I've had to do for you since you got to this city?! I saved you from Amon! If Asami and I weren't so close you guys wouldn't even be in this tournament!" Koji said.
"Oh yeah that's another thing! You can airbend?! What the heck?! Didn't think I was close enough to know your big secret?!" Korra snaps.
"I kept it secret from everyone!" Koji snaps.
"Well thanks so much. You drive me crazy!" Korra said.
"You drive me crazy! Ugh! Korra why can't you ever let me be happy?! Why does everything have to be about you?!" Koji snaps before turning away.
"Hey where are you going?" Korra asks.
"Anywhere but here. Good luck tomorrow Korra because at this rate you're gonna blow it for everyone." Koji said as he walked away.
As he stormed off Korra growls before sighing. "Way to go Korra." She groans.
With Koji he was leaning against the wall angry, frustrated and confused.
"Why do you do this to me Korra?" Koji asks when Tenzin sees him.
"Something bothering you Koji?" Tenzin asks.
"I don't wanna talk about it Uncle Tenzin." Koji said.
"Girl trouble?" He asks surprising him.
"How'd you know?" Koji asks.
"Well believe it or not I was younger I was in a position where I had to choose between two women I had feelings for." Tenzin said as Koji raised an eyebrow.
"Really? You?" Koji asks.
"Why do you sound so surprised?" Tenzin asks.
"Because mom used to tell me how you and Bumi were such train wrecks with women." Koji said.
"Ugh that's my sister for you. I'm gonna have to have a word with her later." Tenzin groans.
"So uh how did you solve your girl trouble?" Koji asks.
"I had to take a long look at myself and really ask myself if I was happy or not and when I was done I made my choice and I knew I made the right choice with Pema." Tenzin said.
"Wow, I hope the other girl took it okay." Koji said causing Tenzin to cringe.
"Hmm no not really." Tenzin said.
"But Tenzin this is so frustrating. I don't know what to do." Koji said.
"Koji I can't make you choose but I will say this. Think about what makes you truly happy." Tenzin said before walking away.
"What makes me truly happy?" Koji pauses.
The night of the final match, Korra walks in to see Koji looking out at the arena.
"Koji? I'm surprised that you're—"
"Save it Korra. I'm just here to support Mako and Bolin." Koji said not even looking at her.
"Look Koji can we just talk?" Korra asks.
"Just go play your game." Koji said ignoring her.
Narrowing her eyes Korra went to put on her gear.
"You can't find two teams more evenly matched in age, size, and strength than the Fire Ferrets and the Buzzard Wasps. Believe me, I've looked! This should be a pulse-pounding semifinal, folks!" Shiro said as the semifinal match began.
When the Buzzard Wasps went on the attack Korra's anger kicked in and she ended up see Asami's face on two of them and Koji on another.
"Face it Korra. Koji doesn't love you and he never will!" One Asami said.
"You don't deserve him!" The second Asami said.
"Why would I want you? When I can have this?" Koji asks gesturing to Asami.
However, while Korra was distracted she ended up getting blasted by water knocking her back and into the pool.
"Oh no and the Avatar is in the pool! Can the Fire Ferrets hold on? The Wasps have the Ferrets backed up to the edge now…" Before they could the bell rang. "And saved by the bell. They had better pull themselves together for round two, otherwise, they can kiss the finals goodbye." Shiro said.
"What happened back there? You just froze up." Mako asks as Korra walks back in.
"I just saw something I didn't like. Don't worry I'll fix it." Korra growls.
Round 2 began and Korra was on the attack trying to take them down.
Firing a jet of water she hits one Asami but the Koji moves in and blasts her knocking her back before the second Asami strikes knocking her back to Zone 2.
As Korra struggles to remain up she sees a fantasy Asami and fantasy Koji standing together.
"See this Korra? I will never love you like I love her." Koji said.
"And who could blame him? I'm way hotter." Asami smirks.
Growling as the Buzzard Wasp attacks Korra whacks them with water before shooting water up and down hitting both again and again.
"I'll show you who's hotter." Korra said when she heard the whistle.
"Unnecessary roughness! Move back one zone!" The ref said.
"I'll unnecessarily rough you up!" Korra snaps shooting water at the ref who pulls out a yellow fan.
"And the Avatar is slapped with the yellow fan. The Ferrets are their own worst enemy right now. It's just sad to watch. With the Buzzard Wasps leading two rounds to zilch, the Ferrets' only hope of winning is with a knockout." Shiro said.
"Guess there's always next year." Mako sighs.
"Come on! We still have a chance, even if it is a slim one." Bolin said.
"Korra, ugh I can't believe I'm about to say this. Mako and I are working so hard, but we're failing because you can't admit that you're jealous because you love Koji and Asami is dating him." Bolin said pointing at her.
"What?" Korra said.
"I'm sorry but he's right. Bolin and I have been working so hard to get here and you're messing up because another girl has a crush on your best friend and you won't admit you're jealous." Mako said.
"I am not jealous." Korra denies.
"Korra you blasted the ref." Mako points out.
Korra was about to say something but she knew deep down he was right.
As the third round began Korra looks to the Buzzard Wasps and for the first time didn't see Koji or Asami's faces on them.
She was trying to get her head back into the game when a disk flew in and knocked her back to zone 2.
"And the Avatar is struggling folks! Oh no here comes more!" Shiro said as blasts of water and earth hit Korra knocking her back to Zone 1 and then finally into the water.
"And the Avatar is out! The Ferret's only hope of making it falls to Mako and Bolin but with 3 against 2 the odds are not in their favor." Shiro said.
As Korra rode the elevator back up she saw Koji waiting over.
"Koji I—"
"I really don't wanna hear it Korra." Koji said.
"I'm sorry." Korra admits surprising him. "I know I messed up, not just these past few days but everytime I teased or made fun of you as kids. Guess I might just be the worst friend in the world."
Seeing Korra sincerely apologize surprised Koji.
"Well I guess I'm sort of the reason why you messed up. I wasn't exactly the calm one." Koji sighs.
"Just be honest, do you have any feelings for me?" Korra asks.
Pausing Koji looks to Korra and saw she truly wanted to know.
"Yes Korra. I do." Koji nods surprising her. "I mean you were my first crush I thought you were the most amazing girl in the world, but when I wanted a relationship all you wanted to do was tease me for it and I got tired of all that." Koji said.
"I know and I'm sorry I always thought you would be by my side and never even once considered your feelings. Some friend I turned out to be." Korra sighs.
"Did you really mean it when you thought we were meant to be together?" Koji asks.
"Yes I do, Koji you're a pain but I really like you even if you love Asami." Korra said.
"Korra I understand but I can't respond right now. I am very happy that you love me but I can't give you answer."
"Why not?" Korra asks.
"Because it's not fair to you and it's not fair to Asami. Look do I know if things are gonna be great between me and Asami? No I don't but she's my girlfriend right now and I need to respect Asami, if I just kissed another girl while I was in a great relationship there's no way I can deserve either one of you." Koji explains.
"I…I guess I can respect that. She's a lucky girl." Korra said before looking Koji in the eyes. "But I want you to know something. Even though you're spoken for I hope someday you'll give me a chance. You can't kiss me but I can do this." Leaning in Korra gives Koji a soft peck on the lips surprising him.
"Whoa." Koji said blown away.
"Yeah." Korra said when they heard an explosion.
"I don't believe it folks! The Fire Ferrets are on the attack!" Shiro said getting their attention.
"Huh?" Looking over they saw Mako fling flames while Bolin fires disks at the other team back to the last zone.
"One more Bolin! Don't give up on me now!" Mako said.
"Not a chance bro!" Bolin said as they released a combo of fire and earth knocking all three Buzzard Wasps off the platform.
"It's the big kibosh! What a knockout!" Shiro cheers.
"They did it! They won!" Korra smiles.
"You guys are going to the finals!" Koji smiles as they hug before quickly letting go blushing.
"It didn't seem possible, folks, but the Fire Ferrets are headed to the finals!" Shiro said as Mako and Bolin high five.
"We did it bro!" Bolin said.
"Oh man I feel like a million yuans right now." Mako said as they walked over.
"Guys that was an amazing comeback." Korra said when the Wolfbats walk in.
"Ooh, oof. You boys smell something in here? Wait, I know what that is; yeah, that's the scent of losers." Tahno mocks.
"I hope we see you in the finals. Then we'll know who the losers really are." Korra said as they all glared at each other before the Wolfbats made their way to the arena.
"I'm peeing my pants." Tahno said sarcastically when Asami walks in.
"Hey guys, Mako, Bolin that combo was amazing." Asami said.
"Thanks." Both brothers smile when Korra walks up to Asami.
"Hey uh Asami I got something I wanna say." Korra said getting her and Koji's attention.
"What's up?" Asami asks.
"I…I've been friends with Koji for years we practically grew up together and I just wanna say to be able to land a guy like him, you're lucky. He's a great guy and I just hope you realize how amazing he is." Korra said causing Asami to smile.
"I do Korra, thank you." Asami said giving Korra a brief hug before looking to Koji.
As Koji looks at Asami and then Korra he couldn't help but smile. Not all his problems were sorted out but they weren't as bad as before.
"The Winner, the Wolfbats!" The announcer said surprising them.
"What? How is it over already?" Korra asks as they look to the arena to see the other team being helped out of the water and put onto stretchers.
"With a brutal round one knockout, the defending champs secure their spot in the finals. I hope the Fire Ferrets know a good doctor because they're going to need one." Shiro said as they all look down at their last opponents.
