Chapter 9: The Aftermath

At the Probending arena, Korra and Koji were riding on Naga's back as they arrived and ran past the police tape preventing entrance.
Up above in the attic, Bolin and Mako were packing their things.
"I still can't believe they're shutting this place down." Mako said.
"Yeah. We had some good memories here, didn't we?" Bolin sighs.
Coming up the stairs Korra and Koji come in.
"Guys! Great news. You don't have to go back on the streets. We talked to Tenzin and made all the arrangements. You can come live on Air Temple Island with us." Korra said.
"Oh uh we'd love to but—" Mako pauses.
"Asami already invited us to live in her dad's giant mansion! From here on out, it's gonna be the lap of luxury for us." Bolin said excited.
"Wow really?" Koji said impressed while Korra had a disappointed look.
"Koji, Korra." Asami calls out getting their attention. "I was hoping you two would stop by."
"How is it that when we try to be helpful you come in and beat us to it?" Koji chuckles walking up to her.
"What can I say? Great minds think alike." Asami teases before kissing him on the lips.
"Well uh now that that's taken care of Koji and I better get going." Korra said.
"Well how about tomorrow you two come by?" Asami offers.
"I don't know. I have some ... Avatar stuff to do." Korra said uncomfortably.
Grabbing Pabu, Bolin holds him and did a squeaky voice. "Come on, Korra. We all deserve a little rest and relaxation after all this craziness. We could swim in Asami's pool. It'll be fun."
Chuckling Koji turned to her. "You heard the ferret Korra."
"Alright Pabu." Korra laughs.
"Great, we'll see you tomorrow." Asami gives Koji one more kiss before they left.
Meanwhile at a warehouse on the other side of town, the Republic City Police charged in.
Entering they ripped open tons of crates revealing Equalist gear and tech.
"Looks like our intel was good." Lin said.
"There's enough evidence here to bury Cabbage Corp for an eternity." A cop said.
Soon after a huge press conference was going on out front as the owner was being arrested.
"This is an outrage! I'm innocent!" Mr. Gan-Lan yells.
"Yeah, yeah. That's what they all say." A cop said.
Immediately all the reporters turned to Lin.
"Is it true that Cabbage Corp is conspiring with the Equalists?" A reporter asks.
"The evidence points in that direction, but the investigation is ongoing. For the time being, we have frozen Mr. Gan-Lan's assets and are closing Cabbage Corp." Lin declares.
"Not my cabbage corp!" Mr. Gan-Lan sobs.
The next day, Korra was at the police headquarters waiting for Tenzin and Koji who were interviewing witnesses.
"Hey Korra." A familiar voice said.
Looking to the bench, Korra saw Tahno, but he was different. His hair was now a mess and he had huge bags under his eyes. Clearly still sad that he lost his bending.
"Tahno?" Korra said surprised. "Listen, I know we're not exactly best friends, but I'm sorry Amon took your bending."
"I've been to the best healers in the city. Whatever Amon did to me, it's permanent. You gotta get him for me." Tahno said as Korra nods.
Walking out, Korra saw Koji, Tenzin, Hiroshi and Lin approach them.
"Mr. Sato, if you remember anything else about what you saw during Amon's attack, be sure to let us know." Lin said.
"I would but remember Koji made sure my daughter and I were escorted out before things got crazy." Hiroshi said.
"Well thanks for coming by." Koji said.
"I'm happy to help any way I can. I want these Equalists to pay for what they've done." Hiroshi said walking away.
"We're ready for you now." Tenzin said turning to Tahno before he and Lin walked back in.
"See ya round, Avatar." Tahno smirks before walking in.
"Hey you doing okay?" Koji asks walking to Korra.
"I'm getting by." Korra sighs.
"Things just keep getting crazier by the minute." Koji sighs.
"How about you? How you holding up?" Korra asks.
"Honestly, I am struggling. I listen in on what Uncle Tenzin talks about with the council and it is some pretty scary stuff. Korra I'm really worried about what's going to happen." Koji admits.
"Well don't worry at least you got me watching your back." Korra smiles.
"Thanks Korra." Koji smiles as they fist bump. "Come on, let's go meet the others."
At the Sato Mansion, Mako, Bolin and Asami were at the indoor pool taking a nice swim.
"Earthbending bomb!" Bolin yells as he and Pabu belly flop into the water soaking Mako and Asami who were against the edge.
"Avatar Korra and Koji have arrived." The Butler said leading them in.
"Hey guys." Mako smiles.
"Glad you could make it." Asami said as Bolin resurfaced.
"Welcome to paradise." Bolin smiles.
"Looks like you guys settled right in." Korra said as they swam over.
"You guys must be having a great time." Koji said.
"Pretty much except someone forgot to ask her father if we could stay here." Mako said looking to Asami.
"Yeah, but I smoothed it over with him. It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission." Asami said swimming to the edge.
"Really you didn't even talk to your dad first? You are just impossible." Koji smirks checking her out in her swimsuit.
"Oh come on, you know I mean well. You don't have to be so mean." Asami giggles causing Koji to smile while Korra just rolled her eyes.
Climbing out of the pool, Bolin walks over. "This place is the greatest. Watch this, watch this. Fetch me my towel, good sir." Bolin said in a formal tone.
"Yes Master Bolin." The Butler said grabbing a towel.
"Master Bolin! Ha, I love this guy. Now pat me dry." Bolin said.
"Of course." Butler said cleaning him up.
"Don't forget Master Pabu." Bolin points.
"Wouldn't dream of it." He said cleaning Pabu up.
"Bolin take it easy on him. He may be a butler but you ask a lot out of him." Koji said.
"While I appreciate your concern Master Koji I am alright." Butler said but with a small smile hinting he was grateful.
"So, what do you have planned for us today? Let me guess, shopping, makeovers?" Korra assumes.
"Ooh! I vote makeovers!" Bolin said excited.
"I had something a little more exciting in mind." Asami smiles.
Leading them out back to the Sato racecourse they saw two satomobiles racing.
"Pretty cool huh?" Asami asks.
"Way better than a makeover." Korra smiles.
"This is where Future Industries test-drives their Satomobiles. Sometimes Koji and I would even race each other and fyi, I've never lost." Asami smirks looking at him.
"I'll get you one of these days." Koji smirks.
"Sure you will. Korra you ever been behind the wheel?" Asami asks.
"The only thing I know how to drive is a polar bear dog." Korra admits.
"You want me to take you for a spin?" Asami offers.
"Let's do it." Korra grins.
On the race track, Korra sat behind Asami as they raced against another driver.
At first the other guy gained the lead, but Asami began to catch up before stealing the lead.
In the stands, Koji, Mako and Bolin cheered.
"That's my girl!" Koji smiles.
"Whoo!" Bolin cheers.
As the other driver tried to catch up his front wheel touched Asami's back wheel causing him to swerve allowing them to cross the finish line first.
Coming to a stop, Asami and Korra got out.
"That was amazing! I didn't think we'd make it." Korra said excited.
"Well, you can't be afraid to mix it up sometimes." Asami said.
"I gotta admit, I had you pegged wrong. I thought you were kind of…prissy. Uh no offense." Korra said quickly.
"t's all right, people usually assume that I'm daddy's helpless little girl, but I can handle myself. I mean, I've been in self-defense classes since I was this high." Asami said gesturing to her waist area. "My dad made sure that I would always be able to protect myself."
"Really? Just your dad?" Korra raises an eyebrow.
"Well having a White Lotus for a boyfriend certainly helped." Asami giggles.
"Hey uh I hope you don't mind me asking but how did you and Koji become a couple?" Korra asks.
"Well to tell you the truth Koji and I were barely more than friends for a long time. He was like a penpal. He was either helping his uncle with council stuff or back at the south pole with you. To tell you the truth I was a little jealous." Asami admits surprising her.
"You jealous of me?" Korra asks.
"Well Koji always talked about you, he was always going on about how his best friend was the Avatar and how even though you drove him nuts he really liked training alongside you." Asami said.
"Wow I never knew." Korra said.
"Anyway as Koji and I got older we began spending more time together. As we did I noticed Koji never treated me special because of my money or who my dad was. He was so fun to be around and he made me feel so happy. Then one day, my dad was having this big fancy party and while I was bored out of my mind Koji had decided to come and then we danced…it was magical. And right then and there I knew I loved him." Asami sighs.
"Wow…that's quite a story." Korra said both amazed and jealous.
Heading back to the mansion they arrive and Bolin instantly ran inside holding his bladder.
"Emergency, emergency coming through, beep beep!" Bolin yells running to the bathroom.
"I told him to go easy on the drinks." Mako rolls his eyes.
"Uh, is there another bathroom I can use?" Korra asks.
"We have a lady's powder room upstairs, first door on your right. You can freshen up in there." Asami points.
"Thanks." Korra said walking to it.
In the powder room, Korra was washing her hands when she noticed a powder sponge nearby.
Staring at it intensely, she couldn't help but wonder before smashing it against her face causing her to cough and choke.
As Korra walks out coughing up powder, she was about to walk back when she sees Asami yank Koji into a room.
"What is she?" Korra narrows her eyes and slowly peeks through the door to see Asami sit Koji down on a couch.
"Asami, what is going on?" Koji asks as she sat in his lap.
"I thought you and I could have a few minutes to ourselves. Don't think I didn't notice you checking me out at the pool earlier today. Getting interesting thoughts seeing me in my swimsuit?" Asami teases.
"I might have thought of a few things." Koji admits.
"I bet if it was just us here you would have joined me in that pool." Asami said.
"Too bad I didn't bring my swimsuit, but knowing us we'd come to a compromise." Koji grins
"Oh yes we would." Asami grins before kissing Koji on the lips.
Leaning in Koji kisses back and as Asami wraps her arms around him.
Eyes widening Korra sees Asami and Koji moan into each other's mouths as they make out passionately.
"Oh Koji. Yes." Asami moans as Koji's hands move under her coat and squeezes her breasts.
"Asami." Koji moans as she wraps her legs around his waist and clings to him refusing to let go.
Every bone in Korra's body wanted to go in and stop this but for some reason, her body wouldn't respond.
Panting heavily, Korra couldn't stop watching the two of them. Seeing Koji and Asami sucking each other's faces was so intense and really hot.
Korra was filling up with jealousy and envy wishing that it was her in there with Koji.
Stepping back, Korra went down the other hallway trying to get the sounds they made out of her head.
"Who knew those two were that into each other?" Korra said putting her hand on her head. "Man I wish was that was my face Koji was all over." Korra sighs when she heard a voice.
"No, no! No, I assure you, everything is going exactly as planned. Uhm yes. Luckily the Cabbage Corp investigation has bought us some time." Peeking inside through the crack in the door, Korra saw Mr. Sato talking on the phone. "Trust me, by the end of the we'll be ready to strike!"
Getting up Korra made her way downstairs to see Koji, Asami, Mako and Bolin waiting.
"Hey Korra you ready for dinner?" Koji asks.
"Can't gotta go." Korra said running to the door.
"You're leaving? But I thought—" Asami starts.
"Sorry but uh I remembered I'm supposed to airsit, I mean babybend, I-I mean babysit the airbender kids. See you later!" Korra said running out.
"Koji what is she talking about?" Bolin asks.
"I don't know, but more importantly why did she leave without me if it involved my cousins?" Koji asks.
That night, Korra met with Lin and Tenzin on a small bridge.
"So, you think Mr. Sato manufactured those gloves for the Equalists then framed Cabbage Corp?" Tenzin asks.
"That's a bold accusation, but what proof do you have?" Lin asks.
"Well, I don't exactly have proof, but I know what I heard. Sato's up to something and I can't ask Koji for help since he's dating his daughter." Korra said.
"He does have the means and a motive." Lin said.
"True." Tenzin nods.
"A motive? What do you mean?" Korra asks.
"Years ago, when I first brought Koji to the Republic City the Agni Kai Triad attacked Sato's mansion. A firebender killed Sato's wife during the break in." Tenzin explains.
"Wait, how do you know this?" Korra asks.
"Because I was there when it happened and so was Koji." Tenzin said surprising her.
"Koji? Oh wow, he never told me about that." Korra said.
"It was tragic. It's possible that Hiroshi's been harboring anti-bending sentiment all this time." Tenzin said.
"Maybe we should look at Mr. Sato a little more closely." Lin said.
The next day at the Sato Mansion, the Butler opens the door and he, Koji and Asami see Korra, Tenzin and Lin walk in.
"Hey what's going on Korra?" Koji asks.
"I overheard him on the phone yesterday. Asami, I don't know how to tell you this, but I think your father might be involved with the Equalists." Korra said.
"What?! I don't believe this!" Asami said following after Lin and Tenzin.
"Really Korra?" Koji glares.
"I'm just saying what I saw." Korra said.
"I've known for Sato for years. I'm pretty sure if he hated benders I wouldn't be here." Koji said as they walked up to his office.
Inside, Hiroshi was sitting across from Lin and Tenzin.
"Mr. Sato, we just have a few follow-up questions for you." Lin said when Asami stormed in.
"My father is innocent. Just because we're not benders doesn't mean we support those awful Equalists." Asami said as Koji and Korra came in behind her.
"Equalists?! Is that what this is about? I can assure you I have nothing to do with those radicals." Hiroshi assures.
"I thought not." Koji said.
"I overheard you on the phone. You said the Cabbage Corp investigation bought you time, and you're getting ready to strike. Explain that!" Korra points.
Chuckling Hiroshi begins to laugh. "This is all just a misunderstanding, resulting from the young Avatar's overactive imagination. My number one competitor was knocked out of the game. It's providing me an opportunity to strike the market with a new line of Satomobiles. t's just business. Nothing nefarious."
"In order to put all suspicions to rest, might we have a look into your factories and warehouses?" Lin asks.
"If you feel it's necessary, you're welcome to search all of Future Industries." Hiroshi offers.
The next day, Lin and the Police began their search but as they ripped open every crate searched all over they found no evidence.
As the day was coming to an end Koji and Asami walked up to them.
"I can't believe we didn't find anything." Lin said.
"It would appear Hiroshi is innocent." Tenzin said.
"Okay, you did your search. Now you can all leave." Asami said causing Lin to glare at her.
Looking to Korra, Koji gestures for her to follow him to a private conversation.
"You convinced now?" Koji asks.
"No, I'm not! I don't care how cooperative Hiroshi is being, I know he's lying." Korra said.
"Korra, this man would come to my birthday parties, let me come visit his mansion, he even taught me how to drive a satomobile. He's not evil!" Koji said.
"Hiroshi is not the man you think he is." Korra said.
"Oh please don't tell me you're doing this because you're still jealous I'm dating Asami." Koji pinches his forhead causing her to blush.
"What?! No! Koji I am being serious. Hiroshi is hiding something." Korra said.
"I'll believe it when I see it." Koji said walking away.
As a warehouse worked closed up, he slowly walked to Korra and slipped her a note before walking away.
Surprised Korra opens the note and gasps. "I think you guys should hear this." Walking over, Tenzin and Lin look at the note. "If you want to find the truth, meet me under the north end of the Silk Road Bridge at midnight."
Heading to the bridge, the three of them looked around when they heard a noise.
"Over here." Looking over they saw the warehouse worker from behind a pillar. "Listen, I joined the Equalists because I believed in what Amon said. I thought he could make life better for us nonbenders. But I didn't sign up for this…this war."
"What do you have on Hiroshi Sato?" Lin asks.
"He manufactured those gloves for the equalists." He declared.
"I knew it." Korra said.
"And there are rumors he's working on something even bigger. Some new kind of weapon." The worker said.
"We searched all of Future Industries and found nothing." Tenzin said confused.
"That's because he has a secret factory." He said.
"Where?" Korra asked.
"Underneath the Sato Mansion." He declared shocking them.
"What kind of weapon is it?" Tenzin asks.
"I don't know, but I do know this. Hiroshi has his first target for it already." The worker said.
"Who?" Korra asks.
"I hear him in his offices sometimes. Cursing the same name under his breath over and over again. The one person he hates more than anything in the world." He said as Korra leans in. "Koji."
Eyes widening in horror, Korra steps back in shock while Tenzin and Lin looked equally shocked.
Soon they were flying over Republic City in an airship and needless to say Korra was ready.
"Raiding the Sato Mansion is a risky move with Tarrlok breathing down your neck. If we're wrong…" Tenzin said.
"I know. I can kiss my job goodbye. But protecting Republic City is all I care about. We can't let Amon get his hands on this new weapon." Lin said.
"Or let him use it on my own Nephew." Tenzin said.
Inside the Sato Mansion, Koji and Mako were playing Pai Sho with Asami and Bolin watching.
"Hmm." Mako was about to pick up his piece when the police break open the door causing Bolin to yelp and put his hands in the air.
"I'm innocent!" Bolin said.
"What's going on here?!" Asami asks as they stood up.
"We have a reason to believe that there's a factory hidden below the mansion." Lin said.
" I think I would've noticed if there were a factory underneath my house. The lies you people come up with just to persecute my father." Asami said.
"Koji, you are now on official White Lotus time. I need you by my side right now." Tenzin said.
"Uncle Tenzin what's going on?" Koji asks as Tenzin yanks him to his side.
"Stay close to me and Korra no matter what." Tenzin whispers before turning to Asami. "Where's your father?"
"In his workshop, behind the house." Asami said.
Heading out back they enter the warehouse but saw it was completely empty.
"Dad? Hello?" Asami calls out but got no answer.
"Chief, the estate's been secured. No one has left the workshop since we arrived." An officer said.
"Perhaps we just couldn't see him leaving." Lin raises her boot and removes the metal sole allowing her feet to touch the ground and use Seismic sense. "There's a tunnel beneath the workshop running deep into the mountainside."
"What? There's no tunnel." Asami said when Lin rips a metal plate out of the floor revealing a secret shaft.
"What the?" Koji gasps.
"Do you think your dad knows about this tunnel?" Bolin whispers.
"I don't understand. There must be an explanation." Asami said confused.
"Korra…what is this?" Koji asks equally confused.
"Maybe the nice you've known all these years isn't as nice as you thought." Korra frowns. "I'm sorry."
"Officers, into the tunnels and be cautious." Lin said as they marched down.
Asami, Mako and Bolin were about to follow but Lin stops them.
"Not you three. Officer Song, keep an eye on them." Lin said.
Saluting Song stood guard as Lin, Tenzin and Korra walked in.
Confused Koji slowly made his way down with them.
Entering the tunnels they arrive in a large room filled with Equalist banners and large metal tank creations.
"Not your average backyard workshop." Lin said.
"And I'm guessing those are the new weapons." Korra said.
"Those things are huge. They could take out any bender with something that big." Koji said.
Cringing Korra looked nervously at Koji.
"Hiroshi was lying all right, but where is he?" Tenzin asks when a large metal wall shot up trapping them all inside.
Up in the workshop, Mako, Bolin and Asami heard that.
"What was that?" Bolin asks.
"We need to get down there and see what's going on." Mako said but Song stops them.
"Absolutely not. You're staying put until the chief comes back." Song said.
Looking to each other Bolin and Mako nod getting an idea.
"All right, we'll stay put. But could we wait outside or something? It's so dusty in this workshop." Mako asks rubbing his nose.
"No we're waiting right here." Song said refusing to budge.
"Okay, but don't blame me if I start sne—if I start snee—" Mako said acting like he was about to sneeze.
"What's your problem bub?" Song asks.
"I'm about to—" Mako sneezed a blast of fire in his face allowing Bolin to make a rock to trip him.
Moving in both brothers pin him down and tie Song up.
"Sorry pal, we know you were just doing your job." Mako said.
"Yeah, just stay put until the chief comes back. That's sounds very familiar doesn't it, why? Because you said it." Bolin said as they walked to the tunnel.
"Asami you stay here." Mako said.
"I have to find out the truth about my father." Asami said.
"I understand but Koji is down there so he'll find out for the both of you. In the meantime we're gonna make sure they have some backup." Mako said.
"Be careful." Asami nods.
Down below, Lin tried to bend the wall down but was having no such luck.
"I'm afraid you won't be able to metalbend that wall, Chief Beifong." Hiroshi calls out.
Turning around they saw Hiroshi in one of the 6 Mecha Tanks coming towards them.
"t's solid platinum. My mecha tanks are platinum as well. Not even your renowned mother could bend a metal so pure." Hiroshi said.
"Hiroshi, I knew you were a lying, no good Equalist!" Korra points. "Come out here and—"
And what? Face the wrath of your bending? No. I think I'll fight from inside here where my odds are a little more…equal." Hiroshi grins.
"That source was a set-up! You lured us down here!" Lin realized as they were surrounded.
"Guilty as charged and you even brought me the first target I wanted to test these out on. Good to see you came, Koji." Hiroshi grins.
"Target? Mr. Sato what is all this?" Koji asks.
"In a word…Revenge. The rest of you deal with the Avatar the police, the White Lotus is all mine!" Hiroshi declares.
Hiroshi shoots out a grappler but Lin, Tenzin, Korra and Koji dodge.
Firing blasts of flames, Koji blasts two mecha tanks away when he was rammed to the side.
"Mr. Sato why are you doing this?" Koji asks getting up. "We're friends."
"I was never your friend. Not since that day." Hiroshi declares swinging his arm and his Mecha-Tank knocked Koji away from the others.
"Koji!" Korra screams but was overwhelmed.
"So all of this was a lie? All those times you helped me? My friends?" Koji asks.
"Yes and the hardest part of my cover was watching my daughter fall in love with you! The horrible firebender who let my Yasuko die!" Hiroshi yells firing a cable at him but Koji ducks.
"It wasn't my fault! I tried to save her!" Koji said.
"Not your fault?!" Hiroshi roars shooting a grappler at him grabbing Koji's leg and throwing him to the ground. "You waited until that Agni Kai took out my wife before you beat him! Don't deny it! You are just as much to blame as him! You took my wife from me and then you took my daughter! When Asami told me you two were a couple I wanted to run you over with my Satomobile!" With each insult Hiroshi threw Koji across the room before slamming him into the wall.
Groaning in pain, Koji looks to see Hiroshi open the hatch to look him in the eyes.
"Come on fight me! Fight me like the heartless killer you are!" Hiroshi taunts as Koji stands up.
"I won't fight you. I know losing your wife was horrible but doing all this won't bring her back." Koji gestures.
"You think I'm an idiot?" Hiroshi asks jumping out of Mecha-Tank with equalist gloves on. "I know this won't bring Yasuko back but if it means I can rid the world of benders then so be it. Now fight me!"
Acting quickly Koji dodges Hiroshi's attack and moves defensively trying to block his attacks.
Nearby, the police fired multiple cables in different directions trying to pin the mecha tank down but it ended up releasing electricity zapping them all.
Using her earthbeind Lin launches herself onto the hood of the mecha tank and tries to break through the glass to get to the driver but was thrown off and zapped.
Using her fire and earthbending Korra tried to keep the other tanks away but one swings its claw knocking Korra into the wall and zaps her until she lost consciousness.
"Korra!" Tenzin gasps trying to help when one threw a trap that tied Tenzin up and zapped him until he was knocked out.
"And then there was one." Hiroshi said forcing Koji to the wall.
With electricity filling his gloves, Hiroshi punched Koji multiple times but the White Lotus refused to hit back.
"I've been waiting years to do this! This is for killing my wife!" Hiroshi grabs Koji by the gut and zaps him making him scream in pain. "And this for thinking you were ever good enough to date my daughter!" Swinging his other arm back Hiroshi punches him into the face.
Grabbing him by his hair, Hiroshi smashes Hiro's face against the metal wall.
"Let me make one thing clear. All the good times you thought we had. Every birthday, every driving lesson and every smile I gave you…was just me biding my time until I could remove you from my life completely." With one more punch Hiroshi knocks Koji to the ground.
Looking at him, his White Lotus uniform was ripped, he had bruises all over his face and body, and was even bleeding.
"It should have been you that died that day." Hiroshi hisses as Koji coughs of blood.
"I know." Koji said weakly getting on his knees. "So long…I think about that day. How I couldn't save her in time. She was a great mother, she sacrificed herself to save me and Asami. I never forgave myself for being that helpless. As she was dying in my arms she had a smile because I kept her family safe, but in the end you're right and I am truly sorry for everything." Koji apologized looking Hiroshi in the eyes.
Frowning Hiroshi looks to Koji and reached his hand down.
Smiling Koji thought he was going to help him up but Hiroshi grabbed him by the shirt and yanked him up.
"I don't want your apology. I want you to suffer like I have." Hiroshi declares before zapping Koji one more time knocking him unconscious.
As Hiroshi threw him to the ground he turned to the Equalists. "Load everyone into the transports and deliver them to Amon!"
As vans pulled up and the police were being loaded in Mako and Bolin snuck in to see what was going on.
"Oh no." Bolin said horrified.
"Korra was right. We gotta do something, quick!" Mako whispers.
Sneaking over, Mako grabbed Korra, Bolin grabbed Tenzin and each grabbed one of Lin's arms.
"Okay let's just grab Koji and get out of here." Mako whispers.
Pulling them with all their might they tired to smuggle them out.
"Not so fast boys." Hiroshi said as he and the Lieutenant stopped them with Hiroshi right over Koji's unconscious body.
Gulping Bolin drops Lin and uses Tenzin's arms to gesture. "Hello, Mr. Sato. Wow! What a really swell, scary factory you have here under your giant mansion."
"Sponsoring our team, supporting the Avatar. It was all just a big cover." Mako realized.
"Yes, it was. I fooled all of you, even this gullible fool." Hiroshi said stomping on Koji's body.
"Dad stop!" Asami calls out.
Gasping Hiroshi turns around to see Asami look at him with a sad look.
"Why?" Asami asks.
"Sweetie, I wanted to keep you out of this as long as I could. But now you know the truth, please, forgive me." Hiroshi said walking to her.
Little did they know Korra slowly regained consciousness allowing her to see this.
"These people, these benders, him! They took away your mother, the love of my life." Hiroshi gestures.
"Dad…how could you say that about Koji after everything? I thought you liked him? He was my boyfriend." Asami said.
"I was hoping you would break up with him, find someone better." Hiroshi admits shocking her. "Look at them Asami. They've ruined the world, but with Amon we can fix it and build a perfect world together. We can help people like us, everywhere!" Hiroshi said holding out an Equalist glove. "Join me Asami."
Looking to Hiroshi and then to Koji, she slowly walked over and took the glove putting it on her right hand.
"No." Mako said in horror.
"I love you dad." Asami said before zapping Hiroshi with his own glove.
Moving in the Lieutenant swings his baton but Asami dodges and kicks him in the face before zapping him.
"Whoa." Mako and Korra said in disbelief.
Slowly Lin regained consciousness just as the mecha tanks turned to them.
"Let's get outta here!" Mako yells.
"Grab Koji!" Asami said as Korra grabs him and pulls him through a hole Bolin made and they escape.
Making it to the airship they flew away with Koji still laying on the bed unconscious and bruised.
"My metalbenders are on their way to Amon, and it's all my fault. Tarrlok's right, I've failed as chief. First thing in the morning, I'm handing in my resignation." Lin said.
"No. You can't give up like this." Tenzin said worried.
"I'm not giving up. I'm gonna find my officers and take Amon down. But I'm gonna do it my way, outside the law." Lin declares.
Taking out some water, Korra began healing Koji.
"How is he?" Asami asks walking over.
"He'll live." Korra frowns. "I'm sorry."
"Yeah, me too." Asami said.
"I didn't see much but when your father kept insulting Koji telling him to fight him he wouldn't do it. I think he truly believed your father was a good man." Korra said.
"Yeah, I thought so too." Asami said walking away.
"Any chance you guys still got room on Air Temple Island for us?" Mako asks as he and Bolin walked over.
Smiling Korra nods. "Absolutely and Asami's welcome too. Thanks for saving us back there."
"Hey the Pro Bending may be over, but we're still the Fire Ferrets. We got your back." Bolin smiles.
"What he said." Mako smiles.
As both went to go talk to Tenzin, Korra healed up the last bruise.
Groaning Koji slowly began to wake up causing her to smile.
"Koji." Korra smiles as he opened his eyes.
"Korra…" Koji slowly tried to get up but cringed in pain.
"Save your strength. I'll get you home." Korra said getting him to lay down.
"You were right about Mr. Sato all along. I'm sorry for doubting you." Koji apologizes.
"I understand why you were hesitant. I mean you knew that man for so long, no wonder you were so defensive." Korra said.
"It was all a lie Korra. He never liked me. He was just waiting to take me down. I'm such an idiot." Koji groans.
"Hey the only idiot is Hiroshi. He thought a great guy like you was his enemy. You're amazing and anyone would be lucky to have you by their side." Korra assures.
"You mean that?" Koji asks as Korra put her hand on top of his.
"I know I'm lucky to have you by my side." Korra smiles.
Smiling Koji looked up at Korra's smiling face and as the light from the airship shined behind her Koji couldn't help but blush seeing how beautiful she looked.
"Now you get some rest. After everything you've been through you need it." Korra said getting up and walking to Asami.
Sighing Koji looked up at the ceiling thinking about today.
The man he thought was his friend tried to kill him, and now his girlfriend was moving in with him and Korra. Things were about to get crazy.
