Chapter Seventy: Daihaseisai - Fantastical Festival Fun

Beta:

"Is it really okay for you girls to be teleporting us all over the place?" Misuzu-san asked as Naru teleported her into the entrance of the stadium where Misaka-sempai and Shirai-chan were having their event. "I mean don't you three want to go enjoy the festival too?"

Misuzu-san was referring to how Naru, Rui-chan and Shirai-chan had taken to teleporting her and Kiyama-sensei around so that they could spectate at their children's events. It made things a lot more convenient for Misuzu-san but for Kiyama-sensei it was literally the only way she could manage to at least attend one event for her thirteen children which was exactly what Rui-chan and her mother were doing right now. And something made possible by the fortune of having three teleport capable Espers in their circle of friends.

"It's really not a problem." Naru reassured her. "It's not really all that much trouble. Besides they are our friends too, so of course we'd want to cheer them on too."

The mention of cheering caused the idea of Crowley coming out of the Windowless Building to cheer her on in the games briefly flash across her mind.

Like that'll ever happen. Naru thought with a giggle.

"What's so funny?" Misuzu-san asked, cocking her head and looking at Naru curiously.

"Nothing." Naru reassured Sempai's mother. "Just a funny thought that crossed my mind. Anyways, let's go get us some seats before all the good ones get taken."

"Alright." Misuzu-san said, pouting slightly, apparently disappointed at not being able to figure out what had tickled Naru's funny bone. "Lead the way."

Naru nodded and quickly glanced around her. Spotting a sign that indicated the way to the stands, she began leading the older woman in that direction.

"Follow me," Naru said, glancing to confirm that the woman was following after her and was pleased to find that she was. "Let's go grab some seats with a view."

"We've got this in the bag!" Onee-sama said, smashing her right fist into her open left palm even as sparks arced off her body as she and Kuroko stood at the podium assigned to them for the Sandpit Jumble Exam event.

"Of course we will, Onee-sama." Kuroko said dutifully as she looked over their competitors with an intimidating glare. "No one can stand in the way of our victory."

Not that any of them were fazed. Quite the contrary, Kuroko's taunting only seemed to hype them up if the determined and defiant looks they shot back were any indication. Not that Kuroko cared. She was only speaking the truth after all.

This was no barbaric combat event but was instead an event where Onee-sama's brilliant intelligence could truly shine! She wasn't a musclehead after all. Not like that monkey Kamijou!

"Are our competitors ready?" The umpire and master of ceremonies for the event asked through the stadium's speakers and Kuroko and all the other participants nodded. "Then let the Sandpit Jumble Exam begin!"

Immediately, the screens built into the podiums came to life. The one on the left displayed a blurred out image whilst the one on the right showed a question atop an onscreen keyboard.

What is the atomic of weight of mercu-

"200.59 atomic mass units." Onee-sama said as she typed in the answer.

"Ugh, really? As if I want to even think about mercury." Kuroko grumbled under her breath as one small section of the blurred image cleared up to reveal a patch of clear blue of what might have been a sky. Something that had the commentator offer some inane praise that the Teleporter tuned out entirely.

"Yeah, talk about irony, right?" Onee-sama said as she answered the next question too before Kuroko could even read it, revealing another patch of sky of the puzzle they were supposed to piece together. "I've got a fix on all the pieces inside the sandpit too. Looks like just like we thought there are a lot more of them than we actually need. Guess they really didn't want to make this too easy on us huh?"

"They are trying to give us a chance to show off our powers to the world. Making it too easy would defeat that purpose." Kuroko said with a shrug as she answered the latest question.

What was the speed of the Earth's rotation at the equator? Too easy, Kuroko couldn't help but snort as she keyed in the correct answer of 460 meters per second. I do have to take that into account when I do my teleports you know!

"Ok, I'm pulling the pieces out of the sand now." Onee-sama informed Kuroko as with a few bursts of static electricity, the metallic puzzle pieces began to rise out of the large sandpit that was in front of their podium.

"I see them." Kuroko confirmed. "Leave the puzzling to me, Onee-sama. Just focus on the trivia quiz and figure out what we're supposed to be fitting together."

"Gotcha." Onee-sama said with a thumbs-up just before Kuroko teleported over to the surfaced puzzle pieces and began teleporting them outside their pit in groups of roughly similar pieces.

I wonder how this can be exciting to watch at all. Kuroko couldn't help but think as she worked diligently at her sorting. Somehow it must have been though as the crowd was cheering rather enthusiastically as the event progressed. Must be the commentator's doing. Maybe he's using an Esper ability of some kind.

Kuroko honestly wouldn't put it past the City. Then again Japanese variety shows managed to make sometimes rather mundane games exciting too so maybe all it needed was some spicy commentary?

Something to think about later. Kuroko reminded herself as she teleported the last of the sorted puzzle pieces out of the sandpit.

"Onee-sama! What are we supposed to be making?" Kuroko asked, turning to Onee-sama who was back at the podium.

"It's a landscape!" Onee-sama shouted back. "The bottom bit isn't clear yet, so work on the sky for now."

"Gotcha!" Kuroko agreed as she teleported to the sky blue puzzle pieces and began to fill in the upper part of the sandpit with them.

As she did she chanced a glance at some of their competitors. Most of them were hopelessly behind but the team from Kirigaoka Girls' Academy was keeping pace with them. Something the spectators were eating up if their cheers were any indication. Like them, the Kirigaoka duo had split up into someone focusing on the puzzle and another on the trivia quiz. Though in their case, the former was a Telekinetic who was using her power to move the puzzle pieces around. How she knew which piece was which from within the sandpit, she was only surfacing the ones she needed, was beyond Kuroko. Perhaps her partner had Clairvoyance of some kind?

No matter. Onee-sama and I will win this in the end no matter what! Kuroko thought with determination as she returned to her part in their winning effort.

She was about halfway to filling up the sky portion of the sandpit when she heard Onee-sama shout a triumphant "A-ha!" and turn to look at Kuroko.

"Kuroko, it's Distant Clouds, blue sky with clouds by Don Bishop! There's a copy of it hung in the dorm cafeteria!"

"I know the one!" Kuroko shouted back as she recalled the copy of the impressionist painting that was one of many that hung in the cafeteria of the Tokiwadai Exterior Dormitory. "Help me finish it!"

"Way ahead of you!" Onee-sama shouted back as she began using her Electromastery to manipulate local electromagnetic fields to lift the required puzzle pieces into the right places.

"Leave some for me, Onee-sama!" Kuroko shouted back even as she pouted a little at being upstaged even as she quickly moved to teleport the few pieces they needed that Onee-sama missed into position.

As they moved the last pieces into place and shifted a few that they'd got wrong into their correct positions, there was an increasing series of frustrated cries from the Kirigaoka duo that brought a smile to Kuroko's face.

One that grew into a smug grin as they slotted the last puzzle piece into its proper place and the umpire declared them the winner.

"We did it!" Onee-sama cheered as Kuroko teleported to her side and pulled her into a hug. One that for once didn't get her shocked by her Onee-sama's Lash of Love, though she did get elbowed in the gut when she tried to get just a little handsy.

Not that she minded much. She was too high on their victory to let that dampen her mood.

After all, there was always next time. She will wear Onee-sama down someday! She was sure of it!

Naru felt her stomach growl a little in hunger, being a taxi for the day had really worked up her appetite. She would have gone to one of the many food stands, but a poster she'd seen plastered on more than one wall she'd passed over the course of the day worked to the forefront of her mind.

One that advertised a [Daihasei Food Competition]! It was little more than a shop riding the coattails of the Festival, but Naru didn't have a problem with it.

No, in fact it called to her, like a wicked, wicked siren song that sung of sweet munches. Or Shu-chan in lacy panties. It was a coin flip to be honest.

Weren't you banned from these competitions? Kurama rumbled sleepily from her mind. He had either been napping or figuring things out about his new body. He may be lazy at times, but Kurama was wicked smart when he applied himself.

Official ones. This one isn't, so my mighty maw hungers.

...And I thought I was the theatrical demon. Maw? Those little Tic-Tacs?

Naru felt her face pink and gave him a mental shove. Shush you. Let me enjoy this one!

Sure. Kurama replied with a chuckle. Go be as gluttonous as you want.

Naru reached into her mind to mentally smack him over the head but he fled into the deepest depths of her soul before she could connect, trailing laughter behind him.

The Number 2 couldn't help but pout at that but that didn't sway her from her plan! Instead it just fueled her determination!

So it was that she padded over to the shop holding the competition and promptly signed up with a pretty smile and hopeful eyes. The fool running it having no clue what he was getting himself into. Good thing her reputation as a big eater wasn't exactly that well known or else she would have been banned on sight.

"Here's your badge, jou-chan. Please take a seat with the others for the current time slot. We're starting in a few minutes."

Letting her hunger more? How naive.

She slid onto one of the long benches with large tables set before them. She looked across from herself to see a sight that made the blonde blink in surprise.

Silver hair, green eyes and a nun habit.

"Eh? Dewey Decimal-chan?"

"What?! What are you doing here?" Her fellow loli balked, a grumpy look on her boring face.

"I am here to eat food. And win a silly trophy or ribbon. You here just to be a glutton?" Naru ribbed.

The nun looked at her with an even more grumpy look. "I'm winning this. It's free if you win."

Naru paused, looking at the girl with a cock of her head, thinking the nun was touched in the head in her own way. "Dewy Decimal-chan, I'm here. What makes you think you can out eat me? Unlike you, I actually do work that requires big meals. Wasn't gluttony a sin for you people?"

"I-I work too you know!" The useless nun stammered, making a keening noise in her throat. Like she wanted to bite something.

"Chasing kittens and robots around the City? Revolutionary!" Naru said with faux cheer as she smiled with the sharpness of a dagger.

If she could, steam would be coming out the nun's ears no doubt. Teehee, too easy.

The nun looked away with a huff and stayed silent. Something Naru was thankful for. The girl was far too grating. Though her tears of defeat as Naru totally owned her in the coming competition would be sweet.

"Ladies and gentleman! I'm not much of a speaker, so I'll just cut to the chase." The store owner said as he stood up to address his packed establishment. "For the prize of a completely free meal, let the eating begin! Good luck competitors!"

Naru barely heard the man's well wishes. The moment he'd said the word 'begin', she'd locked eyes with the Magician and with sparks figuratively flying between them they made a solemn promise.

"There can only be one!" They said at the same time before turning to their food and stuffing anything they could get their hands on down their throat as quickly as they could.

"Why the hell was someone with the Esper ability of Inhuman Digestive System allowed to take part!? What has Science wrought?!" The Magician whined, pouting as she glared at the participation ribbon she'd won from the eating competition. "How is that even fair!?"

"This is Academy City," Naru reminded the other loli.

"It's still not fair!" The bratty nun said, stamping her feet. "I mean even the Daihaseisai events have limits on what abilities are allowed for specific events to keep things competitive! So why was that guy allowed to compete?"

"It's not like that eating competition was an official event. Can't expect the owner to have as strict an entry criteria or vetting process as the actual Festival organisers."

"It's still not fair!"

"Just be thankful I paid for your share." Naru said, rubbing the bridge of her nose in growing frustration at the nun's antics. "Honestly, you were about to dine and dash there, weren't you?"

"I thought I was going to win!"

"Well, we saw where your thought process led to." Naru informed scathingly.

Index-san scowled, but could only grump more.

"So, I've got to go meet up with some friends. We're spectating some events our other friends are taking part in. So…"

"Yeah, no, I think I'll just go home." The nun said, dismissing Naru's kind offer to join her for the afternoon like it was so much trash. "Touma will be back soon. I'll have him cook me dinner."

"You just ate…"

"So!? I got so angry at losing that competition that I've burned through everything already. I'm hangry!"

"That's not how the body works…"

"My body does, so take your Science and throw it out the window! My body is a miracle, dang it!"

"...Sure." Naru nodded, not even wanting to argue with the insane nun.

"Right, so I'm going." The Magician said as she turned and just walked off. "See you around, [Joker]."

"Trip on your way home." Naru said with a cheerful wave.

"Think the other teams are even going to stand a chance against the [Drone Queen]?" Naru asked teasingly as she and the rest of the core gang, sans Kiyama-sensei and Misuzu-san who were cooking their dinner back at the former's house this time, walked into the amphitheater where the exhibition portion of the hackathon that Uiharu was participating in for the Festival was being held.

Said hackathon was an event where the participants were required to build and program a robot using some provided spare parts in three hours and have it do a dance routine. It was one of a handful of the more academically inclined events of the generally physical sports focused Daihaseisai. Perhaps for that reason, it was one of the less popular events and despite having just made it in time for the exhibition, the amphitheater was mostly empty.

"Considering that Uiharu is her own one woman team and the others are made up of three people, it's probably not as clear cut as you'd think it's going to be Namikaze-san." Shirai-chan said as they settled into seats at the very back of the room.

"Yeah. And it looks like that lack of manpower has already cost her." Mikoto-sempai observed with a frown as she pointed at Uiharu's robot which looked a little crude and almost incomplete, especially in comparison to the sleek robots built by her competitors.

"Do you think Uiharu-chan will be okay? Her body looks a little… rough around the edges?" Naru winced, not wanting to doubt their friend, but her robot looked like a toy from the 90s.

"It's fine." Rui-chan said with utter nonchalance as she teleported in a can of everyone's favorite drinks and distributed them with some Telekinesis. "Uiharu will win regardless."

"Yes, she will." Shirai-chan said, nodding her agreement. "Though, Saten-san, where did these come from?"

"The vending machines outside." Saten-chan explained as she popped her can of black tea open. "I used Electomastery to arrange electronic payment and once the machines dispensed the cans, I teleported them over to us."

"I'm not so sure." Naru said, still worried about Uiharu's chances and nibbling her bottom lip. She turned to look at her Sempai, finding that she wore a similar look of worry too.

Their worries only grew as the various teams showed off their creations. Each pulling off rather impressive dance routines despite the short period of time they had to build and program their creations. Some waltzed, others tangoed and one even did a full on ballet performance!

"How by Science is Uiharu going to top that?" Sempai asked worriedly, Naru nodding in agreement, as the aforementioned Level 1 brought her robot forward to take its turn performing.

"And now last but not least, we have Uiharu Kazari from Sakugawa Middle School, the famous [Goalkeeper]! Let us give her a round of applause and be ready to be awed by her creation!"

The amphitheater erupted into enthusiastic applause, including from Naru and her friends, but that failed to assuage Naru's worries. If anything it made them worse. If Uiharu lost after receiving this kind of reception… Well, the blow would likely be devastating.

"Rui-chan-"

"Relax, Naru-chan." The Number 3 said, patting her arm reassuringly. "Uiharu will win. Watch."

Naru frowned but did as her bestie suggested and was left slack jawed by what she was seeing.

Moving with a grace that belied its crude appearance and put those of its competitors to shame, Uiharu's robot had broken into a breakdance routine. And it didn't stop there! Instead, transiting with a smoothness that Naru doubted even professional dancers could manage, it shifted to a ballet routine before last but not least ending its performance with a tap dancing number!

In the wake of such a feat, the hall was dead silent for a long moment as everyone, even Uiharu's competitors, all looked at the machine in awe.

The silence was only broken when Rui-chan and Shirai-chan both stood and began applauding. Not to be left out, Naru and Sempai followed their example immediately, joined by the rest of the audience seconds later.

Naru whistled, eyes wide in surprise. "Whoa, Uiharu-chan just dropped the mic."

As the words left her mouth, an idea came to her mind. Something that Sempai seemed to pick up on as she turned to give her a look.

"What?"

"You're plotting."

"No, I'm not."

"That's your plotting face."

Naru replied with her best innocent puppy eyes.

Sempai's lips puckered. "That look only works on adults. I know you too well."

"Whatever you're plotting Naru-chan, save it for later." Rui-chan said with a roll of her eyes. "Let's go congratulate Uiharu on her win."

"Saten-san, the judges haven't declared the outco-"

"And the winner by unanimous decision is Uiharu Kazari-kun!"

Rui-chan just shot Shirai-chan a look that screamed "I told you so" and the tawny haired girl just sighed in defeat.

"Let's just go congratulate her." The Teleporter conceded and led the way as the four of them made their way down to the stage to do just that.

Later that day, as the gang settled around the dining table in the Kiyama house for dinner, the owner of the house turned to Naru.

"Namikaze-san, a parcel arrived for you earlier."

"It arrived already?" Naru asked, an excited gleam in her eyes.

"Yes, it came about half an hour before you girls got back from celebrating Uiharu's win at the hackathon. Ruiko, if you wo-"

Without even replying or turning away from whatever conversation she was having with her twins, Rui-chan teleported a slim package onto Naru's lap.

"Thanks Rui-chan." Naru said to her distracted bestie who nodded back even as she ripped the wrapping off the parcel to reveal the gift box within.

"This is for you Uiharu-chan." Naru said, handing the box over to the bewildered computing wiz. "For your great robo victory."

"What is it?" Uiharu asked curiously as she examined the box from all angles.

She wasn't the only one if the inquisitive looks that Sempai and Shirai-chan were shooting at the box were any indication. Even Misuzu-san and the Teleporters' parents - Who were joining them for the first time since the Night Parade on the first day of the Festival. They hadn't been able to take time out of their schedules for the full seven days of the Daihasei and thus had only been able to reenter the City in time to join them for dinner. - had paused their conversation to see what was going on.

"Open it and see."

Uiharu nodded before with a smile on her face, she opened it and pulled out its contents: a tee-shirt with the words "Thug Life" printed across it in big bold letters.

"I don't get it." The flower crown wearing girl said as she blinked in confusion.

"And that's why it's funny."

"Namikaze-san~!" The shy girl whined.

"Namikaze-san, I looked up what 'Thug Life' means, you know." Uiharu-chan said with a pout as she, Naru and Shirai-san walked through the City along the two Judgement agents' assigned patrol route on the day after the hackathon. "And I still don't get what it has to do with me or my winning the hackathon. I don't think I have a particularly determined and resilient attitude, much less that it was the reason that I won."

"But you do and it did." Naru insisted. "Besides, it's a joke. It doesn't need to be an exact fit to your situation."

"I guess." Uiharu-chan said, sounding unconvinced.

"I have to agree with Namikaze-san." Shirai-chan chimed in. "While it might not be a perfect match for you, the term does fit you quite well."

"I still don't really agree but if you both think so then I won't argue with you." Uiharu-chan said with a sigh. "I just hope Kaa-san doesn't find out about it somehow when she and Tou-san visit tomorrow. Explaining it to them will be a pain."

"If it's a problem, you can hide it with me for the time being." Naru offered, wincing at the prospect of her joke potentially causing her friend to get in trouble with her parents.

"Thanks for offering but Saten-san already helped me with that. It's in her closet at the moment." Uiharu-chan said with a thankful smile. "She'll pass it back to me once Tou-san and Kaa-san goes home the day after tomorrow."

"Your parents are only staying for a day, Uiharu?" Shirai-san asked, expressing the same surprise that Naru felt.

"Unfortunately," Uiharu-chan said with a pout. "They aren't lucky enough to have enough paid leave saved up to stay for longer than that. Attending the Night Parade on the first day was one thing, it was after office hours so they could come after work since we live in Tokyo but to visit for the whole day, they need to take leave and they just don't have enough. Not this year at least."

"That's a shame." Naru said, putting a hand on the Level 1's shoulder and giving it a comforting squeeze. "Maybe they'll be able to visit longer next year?"

"I hope so too." Uiharu-chan said, shooting Naru a grateful smile.

"I'm sure they'll manage it." Shirai-chan said, adding her own reassurance and earning herself a grateful smile of her own.

"Yeah, Uiharu-chan, I'm sure your parents will- Wait! What in the world is that!?" Naru shouted, pointing towards a three storey tall earthen golem with a resemblance to the depiction of the Colossus of Rhodes from the classic video game God of War II.

"Magician!" Naru hissed, chakra pouring from her body to form an aura as she angrily prepared to engage.

Naru! Don't! Kurama roared hastily from the depths of her mind.

"Namikaze-san, stop!" Uiharu-chan shouted as she grabbed her arm. "That isn't a Magician. There's just an event going on."

Listen to flower girl. Kurama advised. I'm not sensing anything that feels like magic. Or any hostility on the scale of an infiltrator or other threat.

"Uiharu is right, Namikaze-san." Shirai-chan agreed as she gestured towards the golem which was using its size and proportionally prodigious strength to carry a massive ball and running down a designated route. "It's just an event participant using their Esper ability in an unorthodox way."

"Huh?" Naru said, blinking in confusion.

"It's probably a Geokinetic." Uiharu-chan said as she nodded at Shirai-san's conclusion. "Not a Magician."

"What's with it looking like the Colossus then?" Naru said, still a little baffled as an embarrassed blush started to spread over her face. "That's more a Magic Side thing."

"Maybe," Shirai-chan said with a shrug. "But that doesn't say that an Esper with an interest in ancient history or mythology-"

Or more accurately a certain video game. Kurama corrected.

"-might not shape the application of their ability to emulate it either."

"I guess," Naru said with a sigh. "Thanks for stopping me from jumping the gun girls."

"It's nothing." Uiharu-chan reassured her. "That's what friends are for."

"Indeed." Shirai-chan agreed. "Besides, Uiharu and I have resigned ourselves to being the Trinity's morality pets by this point."

"Shirai-san~! Did you have to make it sound so bad?"

"Was what I said wrong?" Shirai-chan asked, shooting Uiharu-chan a deadpan stare.

"No," Uiharu-chan said with a pout. "But just don't make it sound so terrible."

"Yeah, you make you guys sound like our servants or something." Naru said with a pout. "You're our friends."

"Yeah!" Uiharu-chan agreed with a frown before slapping her face lightly and offering them a smile. "But let's drop it for now. It's the Daihasei! We should be having fun, not worrying about something so serious!"

Naru and Shirai-chan exchanged a look before nodding.

"Sure." "Whatever you say Uiharu."

"Good! Now let's hurry and finish our patrol." The computing prodigy said as her eyes glazed over and she gained a dreamy look. "There's this food stand I wanna go try. They say it has the best sundaes!"

"You and your sweet tooth." Shirai-chan said with a shake of her head, radiating fond exasperation.

"Yeah, but we wouldn't have her any other way. Would we?"

"No, we wouldn't Namikaze-san. No, we wouldn't."

"Come on! What's the hold up!?" Uiharu-chan shouted back from where she was already a short distance ahead.

"We're coming!"

It was the fourth day of the Daihaseisai and Ruiko and the Chibi were slated to represent Tokiwadai in one of the Festival's many silly events, the Wrench Pole Competition. Which left it up to Accelerator to herd their three rascals to the venue so they could cheer on their mother. Thankfully, he was not alone in this endeavour as both their grandmother and the twins' nanny were assisting him.

"Where's the [Railgun] and her mother?" Accelerator asked as he and Last Order met up with the rest of the group in the entrance of the stadium that was serving as the venue for the Wrench Pole Competition.

"Mikoto-nee and Misuzu-obachan aren't coming, Papa." Febrie informed him as she pulled back from the hug she and her twin had given him in greeting.

"Um." Janie confirmed with a nod. "They decided to go enjoy some private time."

"So with Uiharu-nee and Shirai-nee busy with Judgement duty, that means we're all here? Misaka Misaka concludes questioningly."

"That's right, Order-chan." Kiyama said, patting his eldest on the head affectionately like the doting grandmother she was.

"We should hurry and secure our seats. It looks like the stadium is filling up." The twins' dead eyed nanny, Nunotaba, said as she gestured towards a group of hyped up students wearing robes emblazoned with the image of a small white flower just like Ruiko's favorite hairpin.

A sight that made Accelerator groan.

"Who are those people, Shinobu?" Janie asked curiously.

"And why do they make Papa upset?" Febrie added, looking between the group of weirdos and him in mild concern.

"They're Mama's fanclub, the Cult Mechanicum. Misaka Misaka explains, proud of her knowledge." Last Order said, her hands on her hips and trying to look all authoritative.

"Mama has fans?" Febrie gasped.

"Can we go talk to them?" Janie begged, hopping on the spot eagerly.

"Maybe later." Kiyama said insincerely as she began pushing the twins towards the stairs that would lead them to the stands. "Let's go get our seats first or all the good ones will be taken. We want to have a good view of Ruiko's performance don't we?"

"Hai~!" The three munchkins chorused as their guardians herded them in the appropriate direction, though not without one last annoyed glare on his part in the direction of Ruiko's fans as they did.

"Wah! We can see everything!" Janie observed happily as she examined the view their seats offered. She wasn't wrong. Whilst they weren't exactly the best seats in the stadium, the ones their little family had managed to get for themselves were pretty good.

"Yeah. Onee-chan is going to love it." Febrie agreed as she looked back towards the entrance to the stands expectantly. "What's taking her and Papa so long?"

Shinobu patently ignored the aborted giggles coming from behind her as a certain clone snuck up on her little sisters using her back as cover.

"Nothing! Misaka Misaka says, surprising her Imouto-chans." Last Order said as she popped out from behind the Chemicaloids.

"Wah!" Both twins shouted as they jumped out of their seats and looked at their elder sister in surprise, even as said sister burst out into giggles.

"Onee-chan! That wasn't very nice." Janie said with a pout, as Febrie nodded her agreement.

"Y-Yes, but it was f-funny. Mis-Misaka Misaka insists while giggling."

The three began to descend into an argument and Shinobu was about to intervene when Kiyama-sensei put a hand on her arm to stop her.

"Leave them be." The girls' grandmother said. "It's not serious and they'll hash it out among themselves. We can't step in every time they get upset with each other."

Shinobu frowned but conceded the point. That didn't mean she wasn't keeping a close eye on the girls as they bickered though. If it got too serious, she would intervene no matter what Kiyama-sensei said. It was her job as the girls' nanny after all.

"By the way, Accelerator, what took so long? Was there a queue for the bathroom?" Kiyama-sensei asked the girls' father as he limped over with the aid of his cane. It seemed it was a bad day for him today if he was limping.

"Yeah," the Number 1 said as he collapsed into his seat. "But that wasn't what kept us. The queue was pretty short. It was those damned crazies."

"'Crazies'? What are you talking about?"

"We ran into a group of Cult Mechanicum and Naru-sama's Rabbit Faction who were loudly arguing and getting in the way while we were on the way back. Misaka Misaka explains." Last Order explained to her grandmother, having amicably concluded her little argument with her sisters.

"Ah." Kiyama-sensei said in that airy tone that made one wonder whether she was just saying that or if she truly understood.

"They really get on my nerves." Accelerator gripped. "They don't know the first thing about the people they profess to idolize. I don't know about the Usagi but I'm sure that Ruiko hates the bunch of them."

"Well, that is the nature of fans isn't it?" Shinobu opined. "They most often just idolize one aspect of the object of their worship without understanding that they might have others."

"Naru-nee loves her fans. We've met a few before!" Febrie declared happily. "They taught me how to french braid."

"And me how to make pancakes." Janie added.

"More useful than Ruiko's nuts then." Accelerator grunted.

Considering the Rabbit Faction are Ojou-samas from Tokiwadai, I'm not surprised. Shinobu thought. Whilst she herself was not inclined to being awed by the Ojou-sama aesthetic, she could see its appeal and the utility of the skills they learned to fit the ideal. After all, maintaining one's poise was a very useful skill.

"Accelerator, considering how familiar you are with how Ruiko thinks, should I ask what your intentions towards my daughter are again?"

"The same as the last time you asked, Kiyama." Accelerator said in a surprisingly polite tone despite the twitching vein on his forehead that was a telltale sign of his frustration at the question. "I'm marrying her the second she's legal."

"Glad to hear you'll not leave her a single mother then." Kiyama-sensei said with a pleased smile. "If you renege on that promise-"

"Then I'll let you do whatever you want with me. And lay off it already, woman!" The Number 1 said through gritted teeth. "You gave me this talk when you caught us making out the second time."

"When you two snuck away from dinner no less." Kiyama-sensei said with a disappointed shake of her head.

Shinobu remembered that incident. It had happened only yesterday after all. It had been hell to keep the girls from rushing over to see what got their Papa so upset and catching a glimpse of their parents in the compromising position their grandmother had found them in. Shinobu herself was a little disappointed she couldn't see it though, she wanted to see how Saten-sama had managed to strip down to her underwear and make out with her boyfriend in the cramped closet they'd snuck into. For purely scientific reasons of course!

Note to self: Speak to Saten-sama about it later.

"I got it. And the email. And the text. And the damn letter you mailed me!"

"Papa, relax." Janie said, squeezing over and patting him on the arm lightly. "Obaachan is just making sure you do right by Mama and you will, right?"

"Damned right I will."

"Then don't worry about it Papa." Febrie added, climbing up on her seat to look her father in the eye as she addressed him.

Accelerator didn't really look convinced but he just nodded and dropped the matter like he always did when his daughters put him on the spot. He was an utter pushover when it came to them. Thank Science that Saten-sama was such a disciplinarian when the need called for it or the girls would be spoiled rotten.

"Oh look! Misaka Misaka declares suddenly, without any intent to change the topic." Last Order said, pointing to the field below. "The competitors are forming up. Misaka Misaka observes. The match is about to start."

"About time!"

"So we're facing off against a full team with just the two of us?" Naru-chan observed with a smirk as they sized up their opposition. "Looks like Tokiwadai wants to show off~"

"Or you did." Ruiko suggested, eyeing her friend with a narrowed eyed look. "You didn't manipulate things to set this up, did you?"

"Nope," the blonde said with a shake of her head that sent her twintails flopping adorably. "Though this is gonna be so fun! We get to own a bunch of cocksure idiots all by ourselves!"

"We need only knock over their pole whilst defending our own." Ruiko corrected, gesturing to the seven meter poles standing on either end of the field, one behind each team. "It's a chore. Nothing more."

Honestly, why the hell did the Headmistress even agree to this? It is totally unfair how they expect Naru-chan and I to do what should be the work of a whole team by ourselves!

"That's why we must make the most of it!" Naru-chan declared as the umpire started the game and the other team charged at them like a human tidal wave, those with abilities capable of making barriers doing so to shield their fellows whilst others launched projectiles to create covering fire for those dashing towards the two Tokiwadai girls.

Naru-chan raised her hands dramatically, like a conductor and held it there for a moment for maximum effect before she began twitching her fingers as if she was typing on a keyboard. In response, small potholes spontaneously began to appear in the ground under the charging force, catching the opposing team underfoot and causing many to trip. Some, too hyped up and not seeing what was happening ahead of them or just going too fast to move out of the way, crashed right into their fallen peers creating human pile ups that caused the first wave to falter.

Meanwhile, Ruiko just casually raised a barrier with a honeycomb appearance that shielded them and their pole from the barrage the opposing team was shooting their way.

Pathetic. She couldn't help think with a shake of her head as everything their opponents shot their way splashed harmlessly against her barrier. They're not even trying anything lethal? Do they honestly think such half-assed measures would be enough against a pair of Level 5s?

"Hm, hm, hmhmhm~" Naru-chan hummed merrily as she made ribbons of water shoot out of the ground. They twisted into a dozen watery serpents and dashed through the air, crashing into and carrying many of their opponents off the field. As a finale to her attack, the serpents merged into one large dragon. It was huge, almost as large as those that she had complained about emerging from Kamijou-san's right arm when it had gotten temporarily disintegrated during his successful attempt to save Mikoto-sempai during Gensei's idiotic scheme.

Somehow it let out a roar and descended on the peasants like a ryujin and crashed upon them. Then, morphing into a wave, it dragged away more of the lower Levels.

Truly, must Naru-chan be so over the top about this? Ruiko thought with a shake of her head as she simply used telekinesis to pick up a dozen or so of their opponents and dropped them outside of the field, ringing them out.

"Oh, Rui-chan. Any requests for my next act?" Her bestie cocked her head cutely. Giving an inquiring look as she swayed on her heels.

"Let's take a page out of Sempai's book." Ruiko said tiredly as yet another wave of idiots tried charging them.

"Oh, I like how you think Rui-chan!" Naru-chan replied as she created a building charge of electricity between her hands that manifested in the form of bolts of lightning arcing menacing between her palms.

Ruiko was far less dramatic, instead just creating an electric wave that shocked the whole left side of the charging wave into unconsciousness. At the same time, Naru finally released her own conjured lightning in the form of a needlessly stylistic dragon shaped lightning bolt that proceeded to leap from person to person amidst the right side of the opposing team's charging vanguard, knocking them out as well.

"This is totally imba! And I love it!" Someone shouted from the stand and Ruiko chanced a glance at who it was with some Clairvoyance, only to wince when she noticed it was one of her Cult Mechanicum fans. Seriously, must they be such nerds!?

"Mine looked more cool, Rui-chan." Naru-chan teased. "You've got to kick things up a notch."

Ruiko just rolled her eyes. "Why bother? Like I said, this is a chore. Nothing else."

"Not even to show off for your boyfriend and your girls?" Naru-chan asked with a teasing grin as she thumbed towards the part of the stands where her family were seated.

"Ruiko!" She heard Accel shout. "Stop dicking around and waste these suckers already!"

Her daughters were a lot more polite with their cheers. Thankfully. And even Kaa-san and Shinobu-san were shouting encouragement at her. It seemed they had all been caught up in the thrill of the whole thing.

"They're cheering for momma." Naru-chan continued her teasing tone. No doubt having a blast.

"Don't bring my girls into this." Ruiko warned with a glare.

"Oh, come on! Just have some fun already."

"Shut up or I'll burn your light novels. I'll torch the whole Interior Dorms to do it, if I have to."

"I've got insurance. Besides, I'm not the one who'll have to pay for the reconstruction and have to deal with all the disgruntled ojou-samas."

"As I said, I'll do it. That means I took those things into account already. You, on the other hand, have completely forgotten the impossibility of getting your hands on another set of limited edition copies of the complete collection of Violet Evergarden signed by Akatsuki-sensei herself. There's only three sets of those left in the world, the other two are owned by people who'll never sell."

"...If you don't want me to babysit anymore, just say so, geez!" Naru-chan's cheeks puffed up. "See if I do anything nice for you anymore."

"That's not it, you idiot!" Ruiko said, losing her cool and quite ironically freezing the whole arena. "It's about you corrupting them! The girls are my responsibility, not yours. So stop filling their heads with rubbish."

"Overprotective much?" Naru-chan said, getting fired up herself and radiating heat that was starting to melt the ice that now filled the field. "You gotta let them live a little or they'll just be sheltered like us! I want them to learn stuff and have a chance to be normal even with their powers!"

"There's normal and then there's being crazy like you."

"Gah! I am not crazy...half the time!"

"And I want them to not be crazy ever. So stop corrupting them!"

"And you wonder why they call you no fun-momma."

Ruiko paused, as if the world went off its axis. "They do not. You're just making that up."

"Uh-huh, denial is the first step."

"Accel! Ask the girls if they call me that!"

"Leave me out of this!" A flustered Accel shouted back.

"Papa, are you going even more pale than usual?" Ruiko heard Febrie ask her boyfriend with her audiokinesis, even as she saw their daughter turn to look at his face curiously.

Before he could reply to their daughter's question however, the enemy pole slammed to the ground and both she and Naru-chan spun towards it in surprise.

"What-"

"We surrender already!" A battered looking member of the opposing team said from where he was kneeling down by the base of the pole, his arms still raised in the position they must have been when he pushed it over. "Just stop using us as your punching bags. Please!"

"Well, that was anticlimactic." Naru-chan noted with a pout.

Ruiko ignored her and teleported off the field to stand right in front of Accel.

"Well?" She asked, glaring down at her paler than usual boyfriend. "Do the girls call me that or not?"

"I, um, need to go to the bathroom! I'll tell you when I get back!" Accel shouted as he used his powers to fly out of his seat and towards the entrance to the back area of the stadium, neatly avoiding Ruiko's question.

"Meh. Typical man." A random woman commented from nearby as many of their female peers nodded in agreement.

Ruiko just pouted and turned to her daughters for answers instead.

"Well, girls?"

The three girls exchanged nervous looks and nudged each other in turn to try and force someone else to be their spokesperson. It seemed that ultimately Janie lost their little game though and stumbling slightly she came to stand in front of Ruiko.

"Uh, sorry Mama." She said, confirming Naru-chan's accusation even as she fidgeted nervously.

Ruiko's pout just intensified.

"There, there Ruiko." Kaa-san said, an amused grin on her face. "Someone has to be the strict one in the relationship."

Ruiko just shot her mother a glare. She knew that! But why did that have to be her! She wanted to be the fun one damnit! This was Accel's fault, she just knew it! He was going to get an earful from her about this when he got back, that was for sure!

Arisa felt giddy as she, Naru-chan and Shutaura enjoyed their date on the evening of the sixth day of the Daihaseisai. A mood that was helped along by how everything was going absolutely swimmingly. The warm night air wasn't muggy and a faint breeze danced by every once in a while. The Night Parade fireworks were popping off in the distance and the flashing lights were providing a marvelous backdrop in the secluded spot on one of the mountain peaks in District 21 where the trio had spirited away to.

A flutter of excitement rushed through Arisa as her lips met the pillowy soft ones of her girlfriend as they sat on a large soft blanket. A cooler was nearby with refreshments to stay hydrated and the two were nestled close to each other as their fingers laced together. It was perfect!

The former idol had to admit, just kissing the lolita had her heart pumping. Maybe even more than when Shutaura was the one doing the kissing. She sneaked another few kisses, her tongue luxuriating in Naru-chan's magical taste as their tongues playfully dueled against each other. Breaking the kiss, she gave the twintail blonde a smouldering look.

Her eyes glanced down to the cute sporty tee-shirt her girlfriend was wearing and flicked her eyes back up, lips curled in a smile.

The pink dusting the Level 5's cheeks clued her in that she understood the look and the blonde shirked off her top, leaving her in a cute floral powder blue bra. Arisa felt her throat go dry and composing herself, she took her own blouse off. The choking noise from her girlfriend was worth it to have boldly gone braless for their secret hike. It had been a little uncomfortable as her breasts swung to and fro as she walked, especially over the more difficult terrain on parts of the trail, but this moment made it all worth it. Oh so worth it!

"I, um, A-Arisa-chan-!" Naru-chan stammered cutely, but Arisa didn't let her continue. It was her night. Their night. She softly grabbed the younger girl's wrist, pulling her in for a rougher kiss and pushed them down so they were lying flat on the blanket.

As their lips locked, exploring each other, Arisa had her fingers of one hand threading through the blonde's soft strawberry scented hair while the other decided to see how loose the blonde's short shorts really were.

"Hii!" Naru-chan squeaked and Arisa felt her heart pound all the harder at the sound.

I want to hear that more. Arisa thought as she unbuttoned her girlfriend's shorts and Shutaura made her own breathless agreement with what they were doing in the back of her mind.

Playfully, Arisa flicked Naru-chan's already slightly engorged clit through her panties earning herself a pleased moan from the blonde that she felt more than heard as she smothered the younger girl's mouth with her own. Satisfied with the reaction, she continued divesting her girlfriend of her bottoms by pulling it down her shapely legs.

Not to be outdone, one of Naru's hands gently grabbed hold of one of Arisa's breasts and gave it a squeeze, eliciting a pleasured moan that was swallowed by their kissing. At the same time, her other hand reached down to the waistband of Arisa's skirt and with the ease of practice, unzipped it.

Pulling back from their kiss and finding Naru panting with want, Arisa couldn't help the proud smirk she wore as she addressed her girlfriend.

"Bottoms off?" She asked, already knowing the answer.

Naru nodded eagerly and almost ripped her own shorts off in her haste to get them off. Shutaura had their body giggling in amusement at her eagerness even as Arisa just enjoyed the sight as she too pulled her skirt off, albeit at a more sedate pace.

"You're still a little overdressed Naru-chan." Arisa teased her blonde loli as she crossed her arms under her own breasts meaningfully.

"Not for long." Naru-chan said as she reached behind her to unhook her bra.

She had just done so and the undergarment began to hang loose on her upper body when in a loud rustling of leaves, a familiar high school boy ran out of the bushes surrounding the triad's little hideaway.

Arisa, just a regular girl compared to her warrior other halves, let out a shrill scream of panic and confusion. Reacting on instinct, and just a little bit of Shutaura's combat training and muscle memory, she lashed out and slapped the boy hard across the face with her right hand even as she hastily reached out with her left and pushed Naru-chan's bra flush with her body.

She, much to the boy's misfortune, was not the only one to react however and even as he reeled from the slap, a pillar of earth shot out from the ground under him, hitting him in the gut like a literal ton of bricks and sending him flying back into the bushes.

"Fukou da!"

"What the hell are you three doing, Namikaze-san?" Kamijou-san said from the other side of the bushes where he'd been relegated after his beating. "Aren't you too young to get up to, uh, you know hanky panky?"

"N-None of your business!" Naru glowered, wanting to tear the boy's legs off to leave him to bleed out on the mountain top. How dare he see her Shu-chan and Arisa-chan's naked breasts! Only she could!

"Naru-chan, ignore him." Shu-chan told her from where she was pulling on her blouse. "Just focus on getting dressed for now."

"Right." Naru agreed as she pulled her shorts back up, having already rehooked her bra earlier. "And you better not peep Kamijou or Crowley's pet or not, I'll end you."

"I wouldn't dare!" The [Imagine Breaker] swore pitifully. "Though Sequenzia-san, Meigo-san, how could you do it? Corrupting an innocent girl like this is just wrong!"

"Naru-chan?" Arisa-chan asked, pausing as she picked up her skirt to look at her with an angry frown. "Smack Kamijou-san over the head for me please."

"Sure." Naru said with a predatory smirk as she used an air hammer to do just that, eliciting a cry of pain from the perpetually unfortunate boy.

"What was that for?"

"You know what!" Arisa-chan shot back heatedly. "If you didn't, you'd have evaded it or used your right hand to negate it. Shutaura tells me your danger sense is acute enough to have picked it up."

"I wasn't expecting allies to attack me!"

"Then don't run in on us when we're making out!" Naru shot back angrily as she pulled her tee over her head.

"I'm sorry about that!" Kamijou replied, sounding genuinely apologetic. "I was running away from a bunch of Skill-Outs that I pissed off when I stopped them from mugging some out-of-towners and wasn't seeing where I was going. And well, you three know how shitty my luck is."

"What is wrong with your luck?! I swear I want to take a finger just to teach you a lesson."

"What are you?! Yakuza?!"

"No, just a pissed off Level 5." Shu-chan corrected as she finished getting the body her girlfriends shared fully dressed. "And I consider that tame. If it was up to me, you'd spend an afternoon with Crow 7. Did you know he used to be an interrogator for the CIA before he joined my Unit?"

I'm with your girlfriend. He deserves worse than losing a finger. Kurama said, stirring from the corner of her mind he'd politely retreated to once things got heated between her and her girlfriends.

"That sounds even worse."

"And you'd deserve it." Arisa-chan said angrily. "Though I do have a question. How do you know Shutaura and I are sharing a body?"

"Tsuchimikado told me." Kamijou replied. "He tells me stuff from time to time."

"That Sis-Con? How typical you'd be his friend." Naru huffed, arms crossed as she shifted uncomfortably.

"Well, he is both my classmate and neighbour. It's kinda hard to not end up friends with him."

"Kamijou! Come out and take your beating like a man!" An obnoxiously loud voice shouted from nearby, cutting off their conversation.

"Your Skill-Out friends?" Naru asked. "They know your name now?"

"I, uh, am kinda famous among them nowadays." Kamijou hedged.

"Whatever," Arisa-chan said, with a tired sigh. "Naru-chan, get rid of them please."

"Sure thing Arisa-chan." Naru said as she waved her head in the general direction of the Skill-Outs and sent them flying with a powerful gust of wind.

"Please don't cause permanent harm!" Kamijou pleaded.

"I promise nothing." Naru hissed, eyes flashing red. "Besides if you're so worried go check on them and leave us alone."

The gulp Kamijou made in response was like ambrosia.

Don't get hung up on making him pee his pants, Naru. Kurama chided. Don't forget you have horny girlfriends to satisfy. Just send him packing and get back to taking care of them.

Right. Thanks for the advice, Kurama.

I'm just here for the free show.

"I'll uh, do that, but um, one last time, I, uh, am very sorry I interrupted you three."

"You better be." Arisa-chan said, glaring at him. "Things were just about to get good when you showed up."

"Yeah, uh, so, um, sorry."

"We accept your apology, Kamijou." Shu-chan said, looking at Naru questioningly and receiving a nod. "Now please leave."

"Right! I'm gone."

There were the sounds rustling of leaves and Naru used her enhanced senses to make sure that, yes, the [Imagine Breaker] had left before breathing a sigh of relief.

"He's gone." She informed her girlfriends.

And that's my cue to give you your space. Kurama said as he slinked off to wherever he had taken to hiding out this time. Enjoy your girlfriend time!

Will do! Thanks for the privacy Kurama.

Don't mention it.

"That's a relief." Arisa-chan said with a sigh. "Okay. Where did we leave off-"

"Wait!" Naru said, raising a hand to stop the former idol as she pulled on the hem of her blouse. "I've got a question first."

Arisa-chan pouted but nodded. "Ask away, Naru-chan."

"So, Arisa-chan, why were you so hostile with Kamijou just now?"

"Why wouldn't I be? He interrupted us!"

"But didn't you like Kamijou?" Shu-chan asked, sounding confused. Which was saying something considering she shared the same body and headspace as Arisa-chan.

"Yes, I do like him." Arisa-chan said with a sigh. "He is a sweet, helpful guy and isn't completely bad looking either."

"Though I hate to admit it, I do have to agree." Shu-chan said, before going pale and turned to Naru with worried eyes. Though the blonde wasn't too fazed by this admission. In fact, she let out a small laugh.

"Sure, I agree with you too, but I still find him pretty plain."

"Yes, but that doesn't mean he's ugly." Arisa-chan argued with a finger wag.

Shu-chan and Naru nodded in agreement to this.

"But that's besides the point," Arisa-chan said. "As I was saying, I think Kamijou isn't too bad. And if things hadn't happened the way it did, I might have developed feelings for him but they didn't. And now I have feelings for someone else."

"Me, right?" Naru asked coyly.

Arisa-chan rolled her eyes and answered by pulling off her blouse and exposing her breasts. "Duh. You think I'd make out with someone I didn't love?"

Naru blushed at this.

"Now," Arisa-chan said with a grin like a hungry cat. "Like I was saying, where did we leave off?"

From the look alone, Naru was convinced she'd need new panties come morning.

It was the last night of the Daihaseisai and as previously agreed Ruiko and her friends had met up to tour one of the many street markets that had been set up to celebrate the Festival. The Daihasei being the biggest chance for the City's inhabitants to partake in the quintessential Japanese custom of a matsuri, they had gone all out! Just a casual glance at the stalls that lined the boulevard of the park they were walking through, Ruiko could see all kinds of food and game stalls.

"Saten-san! Don't you think the twins and Order-chan would love those stuffed toys?" Uiharu asked as she pointed at a stall set up for cork shooting where customers could shoot at a selection of prizes, including a sizable selection of the aforementioned stuffed toys, with a rifle that shot cork bullets.

"They would." Ruiko admitted eyeing the variety of stuffed animals up for grabs. "But they have more than enough of them already. We're running out of space to put them on their beds thanks to a certain someone spoiling them."

At this she shot Naru-chan a pointed look.

"Hey, they love them."

"I do not believe Saten-san meant any offense, Namikaze-san." Shirai-san said, heading off Ruiko's retort. "She is just saying that you should ease off on the stuffed toys. Correct, Saten-san?"

That wasn't really the case but Ruiko didn't want an argument so she just nodded her agreement.

"I'm pretty sure Febrie-chan would prefer to try that game herself anyways." Mikoto-sempai said with a thoughtful hum. "She's always playing with that toy gun you got her during the Research Exhibition Assembly."

"Febrie does like her guns." Ruiko agreed.

"I really hope you're not letting her play with actual ones."

"Relax, Shirai-chan, Rui-chan is 'no fun-momma' remember?" Naru-chan said with a cheeky smile and a playful wink Ruiko's way to indicate she was teasing. "She knows to keep her girls away from dangerous stuff."

"Actually, I've had her started on the basics of gun safety and handling already." Ruiko confessed. "Since it's advised that a parent should begin teaching children about guns when they first show awareness or interest in them. And Febrie is very aware of guns being a thing."

"Seriously?" Mikoto-sempai asked, looking at her incredulously alongside her roommate who looked outright aghast.

Ruiko just nodded.

"Oh, is that why Maniple set up that shooting range in their base?" Uiharu asked curiously. "So Febrie-chan has a place to train?"

"Yes and also so they didn't have to use the public ranges."

"And now who's spoiling the girls?" Naru-chan asked with a roll of her eyes, causing Ruiko to just smirk. So what if she pampered her daughters by indulging their hobbies? It was her prerogative as their mother to do so!

"Anyways~! Does she still say pew pew when she fires?" Naru-chan asked with a slight grin.

"Sometimes," Ruiko said with an indulgent smile for her youngest's antics.

"Geez, now I wonder how Naru would be as a Mama." Mikoto-sempai said with a shake of her head.

"Eh? Not yourself, Sempai?" Naru-chan teased, as Sempai huffed.

"Oh, oh! They have a funky drink stall!" Uiharu giddily pointed out, wandering towards it. "I wonder what novelty drinks they have!?"

"Let me see!" Naru-chan padded over to the flower crown loving girl with interest.

Ruiko and Shirai-chan exchanged exasperated sighs at their friends' exuberance but followed after them, the [Railgun] trailing behind them.

The Number 3 was honestly getting a little worried about their Sempai. The Electromaster was hiding it pretty well, but it didn't take a genius to see she was feeling down. She was nowhere as involved with their conversation earlier as she usually was. And now she was lagging behind?

[Multi-Skill] was just pondering what she and the rest of their friends could do to cheer the older girl up when it seemed the answer presented itself.

"You!" Mikoto-sempai said suddenly as she pointed at someone behind them. "What are you doing here?"

"Uh? Enjoying the stalls?" Kamijou Touma said, looking confused as he walked over. "Same as you and your friends are. And hello to you too, Misaka-san."

"Oh, well, uh, I-I guess we are." Sempai floundered, cheeks red and her hands fiddling with the hem of her shirt.

The older teen cocked his head, looking at Sempai with a confused look.

"Hello, Kamijou-san." Ruiko greeted the boy with a polite nod even as she edged away from him and his deadly right hand warily, a task helped by Shirai-san teleporting in-between them and shooting him a warning look to remind him to keep his distance.

"Eh, Kamijou? Shouldn't you be chasing some other silly Incident right now?" Naru-chan asked the older boy.

"Hi Kamijou-san." Uiharu said with a polite bow before turning to look at Naru-chan with a frown. "And please don't even joke about that Namikaze-san!"

"Oi oi, my life isn't that super crazy all day every day." The boy said, waving his hand dismissively.

"If you say so. In that case, wanna join us?" Naru-chan suggested, looking between the high schooler and Mikoto-sempai with a mischievous gleam in her eyes. "It beats walking around on your lonesome."

"Sure," Kamijou said uncertainly. "If you girls don't mind."

No one objected, instead continuing on their way towards the drinks stall with Kamijou falling in with their little group. Though Sempai was blushing up a storm the whole time.

She's adorable. Ruiko couldn't help but think as she exchanged an amused smile with Uiharu and Naru-chan.

Grabbing drinks was a quick affair and armed with their selection, a pineapple and raspberry smoothie for Ruiko, they continued to wander the market and soon reached its main attraction: A folk dance.

It took the form of couples dancing a waltz around a bonfire to the tune of The Skater's Waltz by French composer Émile Waldteufel. A somewhat comical sight, in Ruiko's opinion, considering everyone was dressed in their sporting attire. But one which nevertheless felt wholesome and totally in line with the feel of both the market and the Daihaseisai as a whole.

"Neh, neh, Kamijou." Naru-chan chirped with a look in her eye that nearly made Ruiko falter. That was certainly her scheming face. Nothing good came from her scheming face! "Don't you think all this lovey-dovey stuff is great? In fact, I think you should show off some moves. I'm sure it would get Sempai excited. If ya know what I mean~"

"Baka." Ruiko sighed with fond exasperation and flicked her nose, making the blonde yelp and pout. Shaking her head, she looked to the older and super clueless boy. "Sempai is sad about the whole thing with Kihara Gensei. So! You dancing with her will cheer her up."

"Oh. Why didn't you just say that?" Kamijou said, looking at Naru-chan like the weirdo she is. He nodded and walked over to Mikoto-sempai. "Oi, Biri Biri, uh, Misaka-san wanna dance?"

Ruiko tried not to facepalm at the bland and blunt question even as he offered Sempai a hand.

"Huh?! Oh, um, s-sure!" Mikoto-sempai stammered out, cheeks inflamed even more than the bonfire as she timidly slipped her hand into Kamijou's.

Naru-chan was right, their Sempai was a total Tsundere.

Still as she and Kamijou handed them their drinks and walked off to join the couples waltzing around the bonfire, Ruiko couldn't help the smile that spread across her face at the sight. Especially at the shy smile that Sempai herself was sporting.

"Do-" Shirai-san began but was cut off as Kurozuma-san stepped out of the shadows and grabbed her in a hold followed by Uiharu slapping some tape over her mouth.

"Don't spoil this for Misaka-san, Shirai-san." Uiharu hissed at her Judgement partner before looking at the former Skill-Out. "Thanks for catching her before she did something silly, Kurozuma-san."

"No problem, Drone-chan." The redhead said with a grin even as he continued to restrain the squirming Teleporter. "Beats just hanging back playing silent shadow for you girls. At least it gives me something to do."

"Ylva-san still insisting that we be followed just in case?" Ruiko asked curiously. She knew that as a precaution Maniple's new leader had introduced round the clock, on the ground surveillance of selected personnel in the wake of the Level 6 Shift attempt on Misaka-sempai, but with the threat clearly having passed she'd thought she'd have scaled the manpower draining operation down by now. It was not like the paramilitary outfit was overflowing with men.

"Yeah, she said it's till the end of the Festival and the outsiders all head home. So till tomorrow morning."

"Sucks to be you, Minion-san." Naru-chan told the redhead teasingly. "But thanks for the help keeping Shirai-san from spoiling things for Sempai."

"Mah, the Sparky Jouchan deserves something good after all the crap she's been through this week. I'm just doing my part to make sure she gets it."

"Naru-chan." A cool, smooth voice called out and Ruiko turned to see Sequenzia-san walking over to the group. She wasn't wearing her usual tight bodysuit that Naru-chan would ogle though, but a rather cute outfit. It consisted of a black camisole top with lace trim, a slender feminine round buckle belt and a pair of blue denim jeans that seemed very out of character for her.

"Naru-chan, would you like to dance?" She asked with a small smile and pink cheeks.

"Sure, Shu-chan!" Naru-chan replied, beaming happily and putting her drink on a nearby bench alongside Sempai and Kamijou's, she skipped over to her. "Mm, that outfit. Did Arisa-chan set it up? It's different from your usual sexy mature style."

"Yup." Meigo-san said, taking over the body she shared with Sequenzia-san. The slight change in tone of voice and the subtle shifting of the way the body held itself giving away the switch. "I picked it out and wore it over here. So reward me for it later alright, Naru-chan?"

"Do I wanna know what kind of reward you want, Meigo-san? Should I be worried about my friend's virtue?" Ruiko couldn't help but tease. It was minor but turnabout's fair play regardless.

"Saten-san!" Uiharu scolded her, slapping her arm lightly. "Don't mind her, Namikaze-san, Sequenzia-san, Meigo-san. Go enjoy your dance."

H-How far ahead is Naru-chan?! Ruiko thought with a resigned pout. Her rival in love truly knew no bounds.

"So, Shu-chan, any idea when you'll master your magic enough to give Arisa-chan a body of her own?" Ruiko heard Naru-chan ask the Saint as they moved to join the folk dance. "I'd like to dance with her in her own body too, you know."

"Soon, hopefully." Sequenzia-san replied. "So Arisa can stop being so annoying."

"Hey! I'm not annoying!" Meigo-san shot back even as the triad - Or were they a couple at the moment since only two physical bodies were involved? - joined the dance.

Naru-chan giggled as her girlfriends began arguing with each other and Ruiko couldn't help giggling at the humorous scene as well. As did Kurozuma-san and Uiharu. Even Shirai-san stopped struggling for a moment to give a snort of amusement.

Ah, I'm happy for them. Naru-chan really deserves this. Ruiko thought with a smile. Just like I deserve this.

"You're late girls." Ruiko said as she spun towards where her emulated sensory powers had detected her daughters dragging her boyfriend over.

"Sorry Mama!" Janie said, detaching herself from tugging on the Number 1's arm and running ahead to give her report. "But Papa took so long in the shower!"

Ruiko raised an eyebrow at that and looked at her boyfriend questioningly.

"I wanted to look good for you." He said with a faint blush.

"And I appreciate the effort." Ruiko said honestly as she eyed her suit clad boyfriend. Where he'd gotten the formal wear from was a mystery but he filled out the white and black outfit quite nicely. And the red tie was just icing on top of the sexy cake.

Ruiko held her nose to stem the nascent nose bleed even as her face reddened at the alluring sight.

"Accelerator-san, aren't you forgetting the most important part?" Uiharu asked pointedly, crossing her arms and all but glaring at the Number 1. Something she was joined in by the twins and Last Order.

Rolling his eyes, Accel extended his hand to Ruiko.

"Ruiko, wanna dance?"

With a tingle of happiness in her chest, Ruiko felt a natural smile spread across her face. "I'd love to."

Frenda Seivelun was determined to enjoy the last day of the Daihaseisai just like most of Academy City. Perhaps more than most of its citizens even, since it was also an off day for her. The first since the Festival began! Much to her consternation, her team, ITEM, had somehow - She blamed Mugino! - drawn the short straw and been on standby the past six days in case of emergencies. And whilst they'd seen action helping both [Imagine Breaker] and the Trinity mop up after the Incidents they'd resolved on the first two days of the Festival, the rest of the time had been boring as hell! So now that she was finally getting the chance to actually enjoy the festivities she was going all in!

Something that she'd been doing quite thoroughly the whole day and was now topping off by visiting the folk dance at the market that she'd seen advertised on the occasional poster here or there. Maybe if she got lucky she'd even manage to convince someone to treat her to a dance. Wouldn't that just make her day!?

It was with that thought in mind that she skipped to the centre of the park where the folk dance was supposed to be held. However, as she neared the site and caught sight of just who was already waltzing around the bonfire, her good mood instantly vanished. That the Trinity were there she could handle. She got along reasonably well with the Number 2 after all and had a professional relationship with the Number 3. That Namikaze-san was dancing with the mysterious Sequenzia-san she could live with. Even the [Railgun] and the [Imagine Breaker] enjoying each other's company was something that she could accept. But she drew the line at Saten-san and Accelerator of all people stepping towards the bonfire to join the other couples.

"Don't tell me…"

That the Number 1 and the Number 3 were dating was of course something of an open secret to those on the Dark Side. Something that game changing to the City's power balance couldn't really be hidden. It effectively meant the top three Level 5s had aligned themselves into a single power bloc after all. But it was so utterly insane a concept that everyone, Frenda included, had all been hoping it was just hot air. Just some misinformation spat out by the Trinity or their allies as a means to self-aggrandize.

That illusion, sadly, shattered as she saw the couple begin to waltz with each other, happy smiles on both their faces.

It was such a shocking sight that Frenda couldn't help it, she pinched herself to test if she was having a nightmare. That this proof that the Trinity had amassed even more power was just a figment of her imagination.

Unfortunately, the burst of pain from her abused cheek told her this was indeed reality.

I think I need a drink. The Scandavian thought, stumbling back from the scene in shock.

"I feel the same way." A cultured but shaken voice said from her right and Frenda spun towards it to find a girl with light colored wavy hair in a showy dress with an open back that one would expect a woman from a hostess club would wear.

"Gokusai-san," Frenda greeted the other girl, the infamous [Measure Heart] of SCHOOL, warily.

"Seivelun-san." The taller girl said with a frown. "This is terrible for our line of work."

"Tell me about it." Frenda said with a sigh. Honestly, how could anyone compete with the Trinity now!? It was bad enough when they were just three Level 5s working together, but now throw in the Number 1 too!? This was just grossly unfair!

Wait! Gokusai-san's ability can manipulate relationships can't it? Maybe we can salvage this after all!

Frenda was about to propose her plan to the other girl when a clearing throat behind them had both Dark Siders spinning around.

"I wouldn't try anything, Seivelun-san, Gokusai-san." Shokuhou Misaki, the Number Seven, said as she wagged her finger at them. "Not only will anything you two attempt likely just demonstrate your failing ability. You might also want to take a closer look at your surroundings."

Frenda and [Measure Heart] did just that and paled at what they saw. Somehow in their preoccupation with the confirmation of Saten-san and Accelerator's status as a couple, they'd both completely failed to notice how the whole area was crawling with the Trinity's allies. Kamijou Touma and Sequenzia Shutaura were there of course but so were what looked like the entirety of the Black Crow Unit, a good number of known Maniple agents, and loads of others friendly to them as well.

Frenda tugged at her collar, gulping softly.

"So you see," [Mental Out] said, smiling like some demon in an Ojou-sama suit. "Unless you two want to be utterly destroyed, you better be good little girls. Okay?"

The cutesy wink and smile as the big busted girl posed made Frenda's knees shake.

"Misaki-chan!" One of Misaka Mikoto's clones with long brown hair said chidingly as she suddenly popped up from behind the Level 5 and pulled her into a tight hug. "Must you be all mean even when you're trying to do a good deed?"

As if the evening wasn't crazy enough as is, this was followed up by Kouzaku Mitori, of all people, showing up next, surprisingly dressed in a normal looking school uniform instead of that nurse cosplay getup she usually wore.

"That's just how Misaki-san is, isn't it?" The purple haired girl said with a chuckle. "Isn't that right Dolly?"

"Yes, but it is a bad habit." The clone, Dolly apparently, insisted. "Misaki-chan should change it!"

"Urusai! Could you two stop making fun of me when I'm trying to use my cool power?" [Mental Out] cried out indignantly as she let the clone drag her away towards the food stands.

"Nope~!" The clone shouted happily, earning a laugh from Kouzaku.

"Dolly! Stop dragging me around! That body is entirely new! Be careful with it!" The Number 7 shouted down at the clone.

New body!? What the hell?

Frenda exchanged a look with [Measure Heart], the other girl's dread no doubt mirrored by her own.

"I think I'm going to become an alcoholic." [Measure Heart] commented with a tired look on her face.

Frenda wasn't that far behind her. At this rate, she'd need something to numb her sense of dread.

"Consider this a freebie. I'm as freaked out by this as you are and in the name of that sense of solidarity, I'm feeling generous." The girl in the fashionable dress said with a shrug. "If my guess is correct, that's the surviving Sisters prototype. A pair of them were made and kept in perpetual sync."

"To test Radio Noise," Frenda nodded in understanding as she recalled the intel on that. "But the original died, didn't it?"

"Yes, but her consciousness apparently carries on in the other clone." [Measure Heart] said with a shrug. "At least that's what I can gather. A spare body huh? Must be nice."

Frenda could only nod, a little thrown by this development. The City could achieve continuity of consciousness over different bodies now? What's next? Outright immortality?

"I am so not touching this madness. Any of it." Her fellow blonde said, shaking her head as she turned around and stalked away. "See you around. I'm out!"

Frenda was about to follow the perpetually overdressed girl's lead but before she did, she shot one final look back towards the folk dance where the Trinity were all dancing with their romantic partners, or at least prospective partners. And as she did, the Scandivian couldn't help a stray thought that had her laughing uneasily.

Oh Science! Their kids will be nightmares! Please let me never have to deal with them!

Watching as Saten-san and Accelerator-san danced together alongside the couple's daughters, Kazari couldn't help the smile on her face.

As much as she worries about Accelerator-san not being good enough for her best friend - For despite everything, she still thinks he is a psycho - she also cannot deny that they did look happy together.

At least he is Saten-san's psycho I guess.

"Papa and Mama look so sweet together. Misaka Misaka comments with a dreamy sigh as she looks at the power couples. Naru-nee, Sequenzia-san and Meigo-san look wonderfully happy too. Misaka Misaka observes. Onee-sama and Kamijou-sama too. Misaka Misaka adds with a twinkle of happiness." Order-chan said, making Kazari giggle at the remark.

At the mention of Kamijou-san and Misaka-san, Shirai-san began making a fuss again and renewed her struggles against Kurozuma-san's hold. Honestly, what was her partner even doing!? She was a Teleporter for Science's sake! If she wanted to escape, she'd have done so already. That she hadn't… Well, Kazari could only guess but she suspected that deep down even Shirai-san didn't want to spoil things for Misaka-san.

That said, she probably needed a reminder.

"Rein yourself in, Shirai-san." Kazari told the tawny haired girl firmly. "You know that Misaka-san likes Kamijou-san and will be very upset with you if you ruin this moment."

The Teleporter deflated and gestured with her eyes towards the tape covering her mouth, indicating that she wanted to say something.

"Only if you don't shout and disturb everyone."

Shirai-san nodded agreeably.

Kazari honestly wasn't sure how much she trusted her partner to keep that promise but she nevertheless pulled the tape off. And as a bonus gestured for Kurozuma-san to release her too.

"You sure Drone-chan?"

Kazari nodded.

Sighing, the former Skill-Out obliged and freed the Teleporter.

Free once more, Shirai-san stretched her muscles even as she glowered at the dancers and muffled out. "I don't want to ruin this for Onee-sama but it isn't easy!"

Kazari could only shake her head in bemusement at her Judgement partner.

"Hang in there Kuro-nee." Febrie-chan offered encouragingly.

"Um," Janie-chan agreed. "You can do it!"

"Girls! There you three are." Kiyama-sensei called out as she and Saten-san's siblings walked over. "Why were you in such a hurry? And why did you have to drag your Papa off like that?"

"For this Obaachan!" Janie-chan said, waving in the direction of the folk dance.

The new arrivals turned as one towards the dancing couples.

"Dammit. If I knew that there was something like this, I would've asked Shizuka-chan to join us." Sato-san said with a pout. "Why didn't Ruiko tell me?"

"Did you bother to ask, Takeshi?" Shinoda-san chided her younger brother. "Now shush and let Ruiko enjoy it. She deserves it."

"Imouto-chan does." Edasaki-san agreed.

"Still wish she'd have chosen a boyfriend that was a little more normal though." Shinoda-san said with a sigh, to agreement from all her siblings.

I guess they've warmed up to Accelerator-san.

"I think we all think that." Konori-sempai said with a smile as she and Yanagisako-sempai walked over, the two sporting their Judgement armbands signifying that they were on duty. "But Saten-san is happy so we have to accept things as they are."

This was met with sighs of exasperation from Saten-san's siblings even as Kiyama-sensei and her granddaughters smiled in amusement.

"Hey, Mii, I know you're on duty and all but think you can take a break for a dance?" Kurozuma-san asked, stepping up to Konori-sempai and gallantly offering her his hand.

Konori-sempai blushed prettily at this and shot Yanagisako-sempai a questioning look.

"Go ahead, Mii. It's not like a dance will take long." The girl with long brown hair said with a smile for her roommate. "But just one okay? Like your boyfriend said, you're still on duty."

"Thanks Aomi." Konori-sempai said, offering her friend a grateful smile before turning to gracefully accept Kurozuma-san's offer.

The whole scene was so romantic - And Kazari was hardly the only one who thought so if the enraptured looks Park-chan and Fujii-san were sporting were any indication - that Kazari totally forgot about Shirai-san. Which proved to be a mistake.

"I can't take it anymore!" The Teleporter cried out, reminding Kazari about her presence. The Level 1 had barely turned back towards her partner when the Level 4 teleported away and heel dropped Kamijou-san to push him away from Misaka-san.

Before the surprised [Railgun] could so much as open her mouth to protest, Shirai-san had grasped the older girl's arm and began dragging her away with a fuming look.

It was a sight that everyone couldn't help but laugh, giggle and snort at. Kazari was not too proud to admit that she was among the last camp. It was just too funny!

Done and done! Thanks to Nameless as always!

And now we have the cool down chapter, the aftermath of one of our biggest arcs and the biggest arc in the series. I hope y'all enjoyed it, lord knows we have! Ships at war, factions making moves, reactions from other factions. You know the drill for an aftermath. The Trinity has shown their might and the power they are swinging with against the Dark Side. But we all know when a new power shows up, others might not react well to it. Let's see what happens.

Nameless: To be fair, Frenda's reaction is more from having her worst fears about the Trinity confirmed than anything. When she calms down a little she'll likely freak out even more, 'cos then she'll realise what it means that the Number 7 warned her off. That is to say, yet another Level 5 has just developed friendly relations with the Trinity. She'd likely need new panties and stockings when she figures that out. ;)

And Ruiko and Naru just flexing their muscles on the other schools was pretty fun. Even then, they were just having a casual conversation the entire time. Level 5s be busted! XD Please nerf! Kidding~

Nameless: Definitely. That scene was incredibly fun to write. I especially enjoyed the part where we had Accelerator running away from a confrontation with his better half. Even the Number 1 is scared of his missus. XD

The folk dance was super fun. The reactions to the power couples we had going on was a blast. The comments, the synergy of the girls always leaves me with a happy flutter. Especially when they're just doing school day things instead of their battles, but those are fun too. Still, slice of life is a nice cool down for me.

Nameless: For those on FFN who want more Naru/Shu/Arisa action please hop over to the AO3 version of the story as we have an extra citrusy omake featuring the triad over there for your reading pleasure. Over there, you'll also get the chance to read an interesting alternative version of the TOTverse in a special chapter that's a little too spicy for FFN as well. We hope that you enjoy both.

Enjoy that spiciness folks~ Shutaura and Arisa learn a lot about themselves in that one~

You know what to do! Smash that review button and tell us what you love! No flames and peace off my peeps!
