We have been stuck in this tree 3 days now. Thankfully I had grabbed a few of our bags before we got to the woods cause the water and food we had in them have been invaluable. They also had a couple flashlights, one of the camping shovels, 2 tactical knives and a map.

Morgan and Kyle were still under our tree. Sarah and Anna were wondering around the trees further up from us. We are unsure wear Jacob may be. It's possible he might be crawling around the camp still.

"We're running out of food fast. We're gonna have to figure out how to get past our dead friends" Erin say's irritated. I know she's very upset at the loss of her boyfriend, whom is her unborn's father.

"Our best bet would be to try to get back to the highway. Maybe we can distract them then make a run for it?" I suggest. "Maybe but what if we can't outrun them?" Zack asked from his branch in the tree.

"I suppose we can try fighting them if we have to. We just have to be careful not to let them grab and bite us" I say pulling one of the bags closer to me. It's best we have something to defend ourselves with so I'm gonna grab the knives and shovel.

"Here we go! We could use these to defend ourselves" I say holding out one of the knifes to Zack and the shovel to Erin while I kept the other knife to use.

"We could use some of the smaller branches to break and throw maybe to distract them as well" Erin suggested. We had all pretty quickly discovered that sound attracts them.

"Thats a good idea Erin. Maybe that can give us enough time to make a run for it, if we can" I say looking up at her. I'd say it's only maybe 11ish or noon by the sun. We should have enough daylight to get to the highway and maybe search some of the cars.

"Alright ladies let's grab our bags and situate ourselves so we can make a quick escape if the distraction works" Zack says while adjusting himself to jump from his branch.

"I'm ready" Erin said as she moved down lower in the tree to a different branch that would be easier to jump from. I slung my bag on my back, adjusted myself for my jump and gripped my knife so I could use it if I needed.

We stared throwing some branches and Morgan and Kyle turned towards the sound. When they seen the movement from it they started making their way towards it. We waited till they were far enough away that we had time to jump. "Alright let's go" Zack whispers so as to not draw them back near.

As one we jumped down and started running while giving a wide berth to our undead friends. We made it far past where our camp was so we assumed we were home free.

Out of nowhere Zack fell. We quickly realized he was grabbed by Jacob who had been dragging himself across the ground. " Zack!" I yelled grabbing him trying to pull him away from Jacob who was trying to bite his leg.

I'm pulling Zack as he's kicking at Jacob to try and break free from his grasp without getting bit. Out of nowhere Erin swings her shovel at Jacob. She hit him in the back and nothing he's still grabbing Zack.

She starts swings her shovel frantically at Jacob hitting anywhere she could before finally hitting him squarely in the head. With a gargle he stopped moving and slumped down on Zack's legs. I helped Zack free from under Jacob's body. "I guess we have to hit them in the head" Zack breaths as he stands up.

"We need to keep going" Erin says huffing from exerting herself. "Yes definitely" I say looking around. We took off again on our journey back to the highway.

I never realized how far we had even run from the highway. Finally after what felt like forever we made it out of the tree line.

The highway was abandoned other then the undead that were wandering around. "We need to be as quiet as possible right now. Let's try going further till the road is more clear" I say as we crouched hiding behind a suv while looking to see how close some of the undead were to us or if they had noticed us.

"It looks like none of them have noticed us so far" Erin says peeking over her part of the suv. "We really need to search the vehicles for some supplies if we can" Zack mutters looking around behind us to make sure there were no undead around us. "How many can we currently see around?" I ask moving to look.

"I see about 6 or 8 maybe" Erin says warily. "Ok there's 2 pretty close that if we creep quietly we could probably take out mostly unnoticed" I mutter looking as well to see where the undead are scattered around at.

"Zack you want to go with me to take these two out really quick? These knifes aren't gonna be strong enough to go through a skull so we will probably have to stab them in an eye to kill them" I say looking at him seriously. "You know I gotcha baby" He says grinning at me.

We crept around the SUV and moved slowly and quietly towards the two closest undead to us. Zack and I made eye contact and nodded once we were ready to take them out. In a swift movement I moved in front of my undead and stabbed my knife deeply in its right eye before quickly yanking it back out. I quickly looked over at Zack to see him yanking his knife back from his undead foe.

We looked around to make sure first where the other undead were and if they had noticed us taking out some of their buddies. When we realized that none had noticed we shared a glance before moving towards the next closest to ourselves and taking them out the same as the last ones.

We continued moving as a team taking out the next undead to us each time till it was clear of any undead except for their now fully dead bodies.

Once we were sure there were no more undead around we went back to Erin. "You ok Erin" Zack asks as we get back to her. "Yea thanks you guys" She says standing up with us.

We go about searching the cars carefully for any food, water, medicine, weapons, batteries and clothes that we could get.

I'm searching a van a little ways up from Zack and Erin. So far I've found a set of throwing knives some clothes including some for winter if this sickness continues that long. Oh why am I even trying to kid myself. This is clearly a zombie apocalypse and if we want to survive we're going to have to stick together.

I shake my thoughts away and continue my search moving on to the next car. In this car I only find some can fruit and a case of water. I went ahead and grabbed the case of water and cans and make my way back to the others.

"Hey I found a case of water. We should split it between the 3 of us. I also found some clothes that should fit me and Erin and a set of throwing knives" I say sitting the case of water onto the hood of the car we were at, along with the can food.

"I found a medical kit, some bullets to a 9mm and batteries." Erin says setting her finds on the hood. "Great job ladies. I found some more cans of food and some peanut butter. Plus I found these" Zack says before setting a 45mm handgun, 9mm pistol, and duel swords along with the needed ammo onto the hood.

"Oh my god! You're a life saver Zack" Erin says excitedly. "I call dibs on the swords" I say as I continue to divide the can food and water between everyone. "Erin did you happen to find another bag while you were looking through the cars?" Zack ask curiously.

"It's ok, don't worry about it I found one" I say pulling it off my back with my bag. I load all the bags with our supplies before we look at the map to figure out where to next.
