The Pryde

Why wasn't she breathing, she could remember being tossed into the water but nothing else, the feeling of water in her lungs, the fear, the inability to free herself, her powers all but nullified.

The burning water in her lungs.

Why was she still conscious?

Was this some punishment for some small thing she did, was her mother worried, was her father still watching over her from above…

Was she being judged.

"Not exactly"

She would have jumped at the voice in the void, the thought itself gaining a chuckle from whoever was with her in this dark place.

"Hello, Katherine Pryde, to answer all future questions, I am not a god in this void" snapping fingers, Katherine gasped fresh air with the tightness in her chest vanishing to be relieved with soothing oxygen.

"I am an inhabitant"

Trying to gain a semblance of her surroundings, the voice spoke.

"To put a long story short, you were never meant to die by Sebastian Shaw's hands, the Coward should have had his throat ripped out in your stead, your allies acquired your body to try and revive you, except your soul had moved on too early, I am here to give you a choice" staring in wonder as a wall of glass before her began manifesting, it became clear it was a window… a window of Menagerie.

Seeing the Faunus in the Market place, Katherine stared at the peaceful sight before her eyes zeroed in on a certain X-men.

"Logan?" staring at her old mentor and friend, Katherine reached for the window to see clearer.

"Logan's alive?" feeling an aura of satisfaction, the entity spoke around her.

"Him along side others who perished before they're time" seeing the sight of Victor Creed helping Logan pack up a Stall, Katherine blinked at the two acting like brothers before a woman with cat ears kissed Logan, showing a Pregnant belly.

"Why am I seeing this?"

"To choose, one choice to move on to reincarnation, or continue to live, and help a world abandoned by it's gods" frowning at the abandoned remark, Katherine frowned before she steeled herself.

"This world, what's it called?"

"It is called Remnant, and I see you've chosen?" feeling a smile grace her lips, Katherine spoke.

"Do I really have to answer that?" getting a chuckle, the void exploded into light, where she saw the shadow of the entity before it faded away, Katherine however stared up to the familiar face of.

"Peter?" staring down at her with a small smile, Peter Parker helped her up.

"Katherine, good to see a familiar face, all things considered" seeing the teen before her shuffle nervously, Katherine came to a horrific conclusion.

"Who killed you?" getting a confused look form Peter, he gave a chuckle.

"That's a good question, My last moments were foggy at best, all I know for sure is I was surrounded by family" shrugging at the teen, Katherine blinked before the two tensed up at a throat being cleared, turning to the right, the Entity she spoke to, appeared as a dark faceless silhouette sat on a fallen tree.

"If I may interrupt you, the city of Menagerie is just over that Ridge to your left, also on the way you'll meet a new face" turning to said ridge on Katherine's left, the two turned to speak to the entity, only to have no sign of him.

"Soooo, Who was that?" turning to Peter, Katherine shrugged before without a second thought, moved in the given direction.

"Not sure, but we may get answers at Menagerie" tensing up at the elderly voice behind them, the two turned around to stare at the smiling face of none other, than Charles Xavier… walking…

"Charles?" staring at the Katherine as he calmly walked to them, his form was finally revealed to be a flannel shirt funnily enough fashioned with a X pattern, with grey jeans and black boots, his left hand held a Cane that had an X handle.

Stopping beside a stunned Katherine, Peter touched Xavier with eyes of alarm at feeling contact.

"Not a spirit, Mr Parker" getting a chuckle form Xavier, the trio began walking to Menagerie.

Setting down a bag of soil, Logan rubbed his hands while moving to a Hyena Faunus to help him with another bag, Logan was proven to be a great leader of Kuo Kuana, with him being unanimously voted after the passing of Kali's Mother a year prior, and right now the group of workers were setting up a memorial for the woman who brought them all together.

Making a Flower bed with a Bronze Statue in the middle of the Faunus-made Mound of dirt, Logan stared up to the smiling memory of Salena Belladonna.

Moving to set the bag down, he extended his right hands middle claw to cut the bag of Soil open, pouring it over the fresh garden, Logan looked up to see Victor walking towards him, a cart of water behind him.

"I take it Sienna got you to come here?" getting a snort form his former nemesis, he spoke while handing him a bottle of Beer.

"No, felt charitable for once" downing the bottle in his own hand, Logan popped the cap off his own before taking a swig, sighing at the taste, Victor spoke.

"How's Kali doing?" getting a frown from Victor, Logan spoke.

"She's… managing, with her being Pregnant and all" getting a chuckle form Victor, the two made a toast to Salena's Statue before moving to get back to work.

Leaning down to pick up a bag, a voice spoke up beside him.

"Here let me get that for you" watching as the bag was lifted off the ground, Logan had a double take at the red glove with a web accent on it.

Looking up, Logan blinked at the sight of Peter Fucking Parker… only he younger.

"Hey Wolvie" gawking at the sight of Peter Parker, Logan spoke.

"Spidey, Kid. Wha-how di-whe-how are you here?" standing up straight to look over the, younger hero, Peter gave a sad smile.

"I don't exactly know of my death, but I woke up beside a few people you'd want to see" stepping aside, Logan's eyes stared in shock at the sight before him.

"Charles? Katherine?" getting a chuckle form the man, he spoke.

"Good to see you again, old friend" before any more could be said, Logan brought Charles into a hug, making them both laugh as Charles returned the gesture, separating to speak, Charles looked down to a bottle of water held to him from clawed fingers.

Turning he had a double take at the sight of Victor Creed.

"What did we miss?" getting a laugh from Logan, he spoke with a genuine smile.

"A lot Charles, you missed a lot!"

Watching as Logan lead Charles to his and Kali's home, the people of Menagerie failed to notice a being watching from a distant hill, an invisible smile as he watched the reunion before turning around while fading out of sight.
