Draco blinked a few times adjusting his eyes to the sunray filled room, it had taken him a few moments but he was now able to see clearly. It was very quiet, he heard nothing but the ticking of the clock that sat on the night stand. Draco sat up tossing the covers off of him and stood, stretching out his stiff limbs making his way to the door. He looked around the flat hoping Aurora would be awake but she was nowhere in sight. She must still be asleep, it was only 8 in the morning after all. Draco crossed over to the kitchen to scavenge for some food, Aurora wouldn't mind if he raided her kitchen right? He was ill after all and he nearly puked all of his innards out, she would have wanted to him to eat.
On his way there Draco paused and covered his mouth to stifle his laughter. There, on the couch, Aurora was sprawled out with an arm and a leg dangling inches above the floor, her glasses lay lopsided on her face, her mouth hung slightly ajar and there were rolls of parchment all around her.
"What on earth was that girl doing last night?" Draco walked over to her. "Aurora." He gently shook her shoulder, nothing happened. "Aurora." He said again shaking her with a bit more force.
That seemed to do the trick because the girl immediately shot up looking around the room in panic. "What time is it?!" She asked urgently.
Draco couldn't help but laugh, her glasses where now hanging off her left ear and the ear piece on the right side was resting on her jaw.
"Relax, it's only 8 o'clock."
She put her hand over her heart. "Oh good." She sighed in relief. "How are feeling?" Aurora asked as she felt Draco's forehead.
"Much better thank you, but the real question is what were you doing last night, aside from taking care of me of course?"
"Oh I was…" Aurora took off her glasses and rubbed her eyes. "I was finishing up a report for my professor, he sent it to me around the time I was brewing that potion for you and said that the deadline was at noon today."
"Did you finish?"
Aurora motioned to all parchment before her.
"I'm assuming that's a no."
"Yeah." Aurora stood. "Are you hungry? Because I refuse to look any of these charts until I've properly eaten."
"Yes, but if you don't mind I'd like to take a shower first, I feel disgusting."
"Oh no, not at all! The bathroom is the first door on your left!"

Wyatt paced up and down the corridor, why was it taking so long?! She's been in there like what- 2 hours now?
"Will you sit down?!" Democles hissed in exasperation. "If you continue this, I will send you straight home!"
"She's been in there too long, father."
Democles rolled his eyes, "been in there too long"-ha! When he had to present at his own defense, more than 25 years ago, he was question for 5 hours straight! Oh yes, it was quite an affair, he was a young man 28 donned in his most impressive robes. He was questioned on every little detail about his newly invented Wolfsbane potion by a dozen very old ministry men, all clad in black robes and powdered wigs. And now his own daughter was going through the same rite, he couldn't have been prouder.
About an hour later Ramona emerged from the room dressed in her most impressive royal blue robes looking as regal as ever with her bronze tresses pinned neatly atop her head.
"Well?" Wyatt asked anxiously.
Ramona was silent for a moment she wore a fervent expression.
"Father, Wyatt…" She addressed the two men. "Let it be known that on this day, July 20, 2004; I, Ramona Lydia Jane Belby have officially become a doctor! You may address me as Doctor Belby if you wish." Ramona smirked raising her chin with dignity.
Wyatt could barely contain his excitement he instantly seized his sister in bone crushing hug, literally knocking the wind out of her.
"Wyatt…I can't breathe…" Ramona gasped as she patted him on the back.
Wyatt released her. "Sorry, this is fantastic! And to think I was worried."
"Worried?"
"The boy was pacing up and down the corridor for 3 hours straight!" Democles spoke up, "I told him he had nothing to worry about; in fact I was more concerned for the ministry officials than you, well done my dear, well done. Your mother will be pleased."
Ramona simpered. "I can picture her now, two doctors in the family! Can anyone boast such an occurrence?" Ramona adopted the haughty tone of her mother causing her father and brother to chuckle.
"Come on, let's go deliver the good news. I also have to write to your uncle, Demitrius."
"Why?"
"To invite him and his family to your congratulatory dinner of course!"
"So, basically you want to show off by reminding him how brilliant your children are compared to his." Ramon raised an eyebrow at her father.
"Precisely!"
"Are you inviting cousin Marcus too?" Wyatt asked.
"Of course."
"But whhhhhhy?!" Wyatt moaned.
"Yeah, why? Cousin Marcus is a prat!" Ramona sneered.
"Not to mention he eats as much as a starving dragon! He'll eat the whole table if he could!"
"Enough! I can't just invite your uncle and not your cousin."
"Fine." Ramona pouted. "But if he eats any of my cake there will be retribution!"
"Yeah!" Wyatt exclaimed high-fiving his sister.
Democles shook his head, as brilliant as Wyatt and Ramona were, they acted like complete dunderheaded children sometimes.

Draco was greeted with a pleasant smell wafting through the room but he couldn't quite put is finger on what it was. He found Aurora in the kitchen setting the table, in the middle was a giant stack of Belgian waffles.
"You really didn't have to trouble yourself."
Aurora looked up and smiled, "No trouble at all. Coffee?" She asked raising the coffee pot into view.
"Yes, please." Draco took a seat across from her and Aurora handed him a mug full of coffee.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Dig in!"
"Again you really didn't have to-"
"Nonsense, you practically puked out your soul last night! You have to eat!"
"You're beginning to sound like a nurse." Draco teased.
"I think I'd make an appalling nurse."
"You don't know that."
"Trust me, I do." Draco shook his head and began to pile the waffles onto his plate.
The pair ate and happily chatted with each other, but Draco couldn't help but feel that Aurora was watching him a little too intently. She was acting normal, but every so often her eyes would shift planting their gaze on his left arm ever so briefly. Aurora couldn't have seen it, could she? For all he knew she probably did, since he was asleep for most of the night- there she goes again! Just a second ago her eyes shifted from her plate back to his arm. Draco began to feel self-conscious, would she still accept him if she knew about his past affiliation with the dark order? It would be a bit hypocritical of her if she didn't since her own brother was involved as well. But then again it doesn't look like she bears much love for her brother Emerson either, or any of them for that matter. He has seen her interact with her brothers twice, the first was at Reginald's wedding and when Reginald came to visit. It seemed as though her relationship with them was nothing more than a formality, everything was so stiff. Nothing like when she's with him or Wyatt.
"-so that's why I'm annoyed that he sent me the assignment last night, it was such short notice and I have very little time to work on it." Aurora finished, Draco remained silent wearing a pensive expression.
"Are you okay?" Aurora frowned.
"You saw it didn't you?"
"Pardon?"
"My left arm, you've seen the dark mark."
Aurora sighed and set down her fork. "Yes, I saw it."
"And?" Draco asked, now suddenly more interested with the food on his plate.
"'And', what?"
"Aren't you disgusted with what I was involved with? Or at least ask me why I joined."
Aurora shrugged and picked up her fork once more. "Quite frankly, I don't care what you did in your adolescence. Yes, I am a bit curious however that is none of my business." She began to cut the waffle in front of her. "I can tell that the whole ordeal makes you uneasy so I will not press you for answers. I am your friend not a scummy Auror. Lord knows you've been through enough, my brother fled to my uncle's house right after the war and he was a complete wreck. I can't imagine what it must have been like having to stay there and endure the aftermath of it all."
"But-"
"Hey, we all make mistakes right? Why should I judge you for something that happened six years ago?"
Draco nodded not knowing what else to say, she didn't care to know why nor did she reject him or look at him with contempt. Aurora truly didn't care, curious yes, but who wouldn't be? Where has she been all his life?!
