Fallon looks at the man in the bow tie , before she can react or find out what the hell is going on, she feels lips pressed against her, she freezes at that, and the man somehow senses her discomfort and pulls away , he frowns at her "Are you ok Lovely? Are you mad at me? What has my future or past self done?". A red headed girl next to him clears her throat speaking in a strong scottish accent "uh doctor, I think this is an early Fallon, she looks like a poor dear caught in headlights". A curly haired woman next to her hums in agreement "Mmm Amy is correct , this is first time Fallon , future Fallon told me about this". The man in the bow tie - or doctor as , the Red head called him sighs and mutters which sounds like a whine to Fallon "oh yeah she tells you but not me".
The curly haired woman smirks at the man, likes she won some on going competition and the man in the bow tie makes a face back, Fallons voice breaks this ongoing dispute up "Can someone please tell me what the hell is going on? Who are you people? Do you just randomly kiss people you meet?"
The three of them look at Fallon sympathetically and the man speaks up, he reaches out to touch her but drops his hand "It's okay Fallon, you are safe , I will properly explain everything in great detail later like you love, I'm the doctor, this is Amy" he says pointing to the red head and then points at the curly haired woman "and this is River Song, I know you have like a hundred questions and I know you won't be satisfied with what I am saying but I will answer what I can in short right now".
Fallon looks between the three of them and smiles slightly , she takes a moment thinking before she speaks "where am I? Why am I here? One minute I was in a gas station next I'm here, I would ask if this was a dream but knowing my life, nothing is ever that bloody easy". The doctor smiles at her words fondly and says to her calmly "You're in another universe, definitely not dreaming , you touched a point in time that pulled you through to this world, you are now apart of this universe, I've known you for a very long time, I know you are scared deep down but I promise you start to love being here". Fallon nods her head a little in slight acceptance for the time being , her mind still feels fuzzy, so she will accept it for the moment.
The curly haired lady called River interrupts Fallons thoughts by giving her hand a squeeze before she pulls out a small note book and and some sort of wrist contraption "These are yours future you gave them to me to give them to you, this book is where you write in each adventure to keep track and anything you foresee , you will understand in time, this is a vortex manipulator, you set the coordinates and it takes you there, keep them safe."
Fallon jumps a little when she hears an explosion going off, The doctor smiles reassuringly at Fallon , he goes to say something when a man with a heavy glare speaks to the doctor "Doctor? We're through" The doctor nods "okay now it starts" The doctor walks out the drop ship and pulls Fallon along by her hand glancing at her as he does , she's so young, I will need to try keep her with me , I remember how reckless young Fallon can be especially for others, the doctor thinks to himself.
Fallon doesn't stop him from taking her hand , for some strange reason it doesn't feel bad , despite not knowing the Damn man! Fallon glances at him and speaks again to him "so I'm in another universe, is it similar to mine or is there differences?" The doctor hums and says casually "The worlds are similar , well apart from this one has aliens and not the monsters etc you dealt with" Fallon Looks at him with wide eyes "aliens..? Did you just say aliens? Are you an alien ? Oh my god Sammy would be delighted with hearing aliens are real... oh my my Sammy and Dean , will I ever see them again? Are they safe? Please"
The doctor glances at Fallon and stops and faces her he reaches out and rubs his thumb along her cheek like it was habit before pulling his hand away "I can't tell you much about your own universe that Fallon it's spoilers for your future, and yes I'm an alien , I'm called a Time Lord , is that okay?" He says the last part a little meekly, Fallon sighs not really happy about the spoilers part but again drops it for the moment again. "Uh yeah , I'm not one to Judge" The doctor smiles at her words and they continue on.
They approach the entrance chamber and everyone starts to climb down a rope ladder into a very large underground space, the doctor helps Fallon down , he places his hand on her waist to help her down and she blushes involuntarily, The doctor smirks slightly proud that he can invoke a blush for her this early on. The doctor turns saying "Do we have a gravity globe?" The man with the heavy glare that Fallon recently found out name is Octavian snaps at one of his clerics "Grav Globe" Fallon decides there and then she does not like him. Fallon watches as the poor cleric that was snapped at pass the globe to the doctor.
Amy , the red head links arms with Fallon and gives her a smile before she looks over at the doctor "so where are we? And what is this?". "It's an Aplan Mortarium, sometimes called a Maze of the Dead." River replies back to Amy. Amy looks confused "uh and what's that?" The doctor buts in "Well, if you happen to be a creature of living stone.." pausing as he kicks the globe into the air, where it illuminates a vast array of mausoleums and statuary. "The perfect hiding place" He finishes off.
Octavian nods "hmm I guess this makes it a bit tricker" "A bit yeah" The doctor replies absentmindedly. Octavian glances around while speaking "A stone Angel on the loose amongst stone statues. A lot harder than I'd prayed for." River shakes her head " A needle in a haystack." The doctor exclaims instead " lA needle that looks like hay. A hay-like needle of death. A hay-alike needle of death in a haystack of, er, statues. No, yours was fine." Fallon after listening to this back and forth finds herself adding in "wouldn't a needle stand out in a haystack , more like a certain needle in a needle stack" The doctor looks at her and smiles and bops her on the nose on the way by her "good one Lovely"
Octavian turns to his clerics "Right. Check every single statue in this chamber. You know what you're looking for. Complete visual inspection." Before turning to the doctor "One question. How do we fight it?" The doctor answers him back "We find it, and hope." Fallon thinks to herself she can't say she likes that answer, praying doesn't help anything. While she's thinking she clocks Octavian stopping River , she can't help but over hear the conversation, Octavian speaks to her with a bite to his tone " He doesn't know yet, does he? Who and what you are. And it seems either does she" River sighs "It's too early in both of their time streams" Octavian leans in closer to River "Well, make sure he doesn't work it out, or he's not going to help us." "I won't let you down. Believe you me, I have no intention of going back to prison" River answers back confidently. Fallon turns away and thinks prison?
The Doctor and Amy start up the terraces. She pauses to rub her eye, and stone dust falls out between her fingers. River glances at Amy touching her arm "You all right?" Amy nods back "Yeah, I'm fine. So, what's a Maze of the Dead?" River hums a little before answering "Oh, it's not as bad as it sounds. It's just a labyrinth with dead people buried in the walls. Okay, that was fairly bad. Right, give me your arm. This won't hurt a bit". She injects Amy in the Arm and Amy calls out "Ow" when she does it. River lips curl up in a smile slightly "There, you see. I lied. It's a viro-stabiliser. Stabilises your metabolism against radiation, drive burn, anything. You're going to need it when we get up to that ship" River then turns back to Fallon "your turn dear" Fallon furrows her eyes-brows at the needle she has always had a phobia of needles which is crazy considering her life. Fallon steps away from River and shakes her head "yeah I'm good , I will pass" River shakes her head and steps towards Fallon once again "I'm sorry darling , you need it to keep safe especially this early on" The doctor catches on what happening and walks back towards them and stands in front of Fallon "Lovely don't look at the need look at me" Fallon does as he asks and she looks at him "That's it lovely just keep looking at me" The doctor glances at River and gives her the go ahead and she injects Fallon quickly and gives her a quick reassuring smile, The doctor gives her a smile and presses a quick kiss on Fallons head before walking on. Amy smirks a little at that before turning back to River "So what's he like? In the future, I mean. Because you know him in the future, don't you, and Fallon you know her too , you seem close" Fallon perks up at this conversation River chuckles at Amy and nosiness "hmmm The doctor Well, the Doctor's the Doctor and Fallon is Fallon" Amy rolls her eyes at that "Oh. Well, that's very helpful. Mind if I write that down?"
River laughs a little and calls over to the doctor "Yes we are" Doctor casually looks over as of he is completely innocent "Sorry, what?" "Talking about you." River replies matter of factly. The doctor scoffs at that "I wasn't listening. I'm busy." Fallon glances at the portable computer in the doctors hand "um isn't they supposed to be the other way up?" River and Amy can't resist laughing a little at this and River calls over "ah Fallon is right . The other way up" A sheepish look comes across the doctors face as he turns the portable computer round the other way.
River looks back at Amy "Oh, Amy, Amy, Amy. This is the Doctor and Fallon we're talking about. Do you really think it could be anything that simple?"Amy nods "Yep" River smirks "You're good. I'm not saying you're right, but you are very good."
There is sudden Gunfire. The Doctor grabs Fallon as River and Amy run back to the main group with them. A young Cleric has shot up a statue. The young Cleric who's named Bob worriedly mutters to the them "Sorry, sorry. I thought. I thought it looked at me." Octavian glares through the young man snappily tells him " We know what the Angel looks like. Is that the Angel?" Bob puts his head down and shakes his head "No, sir." Mean man Octavian continues of berating him "No, sir, it is not. According to the Doctor, we are facing an enemy of unknowable power and infinite evil, so it would be good, it would be very good, if we could all remain calm in the presence of decor." Fallon scoffs and snaps at him "jeeze leave off him a little ,he's spooked enough without you adding to it!" Fallon reaches out to comfort the scared man , when she does a sharp pain goes through her head and flashes of a neck snapping in her mind makes her pull away confusedly, the cleric looks at Fallon "ma'am are you okay?" The doctor at the time already has his eyes on Fallon and he decides to jump in to take the attention away from Fallon and has a conversation with the Cleric "What's your name?" "Bob, sir." The doctor nods "Ah, that's a great name. I love Bob." Octavian buts in with his comment "It's a Sacred Name. We all have Sacred Names. They're given to us in the service of the Church."
"Sacred Bob. More like Scared Bob now, eh?" Bob smiles sheepishly "Yes, sir."
The Doctor walks by him and looks at Octavian as he goes "Ah, good. Scared keeps you fast. Anyone in this room who isn't scared is a moron. Carry on."
The doctor pulls Fallon away , she's still in daze about what's going on with her , The doctor watches her sympathetically and just wants to take her in his arms and comfort her but he can't it's to early , he settles for rubbing his thumb along her head and speaks to her in a very quiet tone " it's okay Lovely, I knew what's going on with you , I will explain it more when less people are around , don't say anything, the less people who know the better okay?" Fallon glances at him and nods a little and thinks to herself she wishes she was home with her brothers.
Fallon remains quiet for the time being looking around at the statues , something feels extremely off with them , she listens to Amy asking one of her many questions since being her "Isn't there a chance this lot's just going to collapse? There's a whole ship up there." "Incredible builders, the Aplans." River kindly explains to Amy , when the doctor rambles out "Had dinner with their Chief Architect once. Two heads are better than one." Amy looks a little confused at that "What, you mean you helped him?" Doctor shakes his head at her "No, I mean he had two heads. That book, the very end, what did it say?" River pulls the book out "Hang on." The doctor impatiently waits before jumping in with "Read it to me."
"What if we had ideas that could think for themselves? What if one day our dreams no longer needed us? When these things occur and are held to be true, the time will be upon us. The time of Angels." As she ends sentence with that a shiver runs through Fallon. This is not good.
