All Fallon can think of is what a climb this is , she really needs to be fit if this is what's expected, she is suddenly pulled out her thoughts by Amy "Are we there yet? It's a hell of a climb, what do you think Fallon?" Fallon gives Amy a small smile and listens to River telling them "The Maze is on six levels, representing the ascent of the soul. Only two levels to go" Fallon groans slightly at the thought of that. "Really..? I feel like I've been doing this for far too long, like longer than my patience " The doctor chuckles at Fallon dramatic comment and bops her on the nose again , Fallon wrinkles her nose as he does that and he smiles fondly at her thinking how cute she looks "Lovely species, the Aplans. We should visit them some time" "I thought they were all dead?" Amy responds to him , Fallon nods in agreement with a little confused about his comment.

"So is Virginia Woolf. Fallon and I are on her bowling team. Well that was until she flirted with Fallon... oops spoilers ... though was Very relaxed, sort of cheerful. Well, that's having two heads, of course. You're never short of a snog with an extra head." The doctor rambles on as Fallon gives him a weird look she's sure she's never met Virginia Woolf or been on a bowling team. She looks around at the statuses again two heads...two heads , she continues to think in her head. River comes up next to them "Doctor, there's something. I don't know what it is."

Fallon without realising she's doing it moves closer to the doctor and she feels his hand linking with hers, she's not sure if it's to comfort her or him at this point, "Yeah, there's something wrong. Don't know what it is yet, either. Working on it. Of course, then they started having laws against self-marrying. I mean, what was that about? But that's the Church for you. Er, no offence, Bishop." The doctor responds in a bit a winded ramble, Fallon glances at him he sure rambles a lot. Octavian scoffs slightly at the throw away comment " Quite a lot taken, if that's all right, Doctor. Lowest point in the wreckage is only about fifty feet up from here. That way." Amy grins a little "The Church had a point, if you think about it. The divorces must have been messy" Fallon looks at the doctor and says offhandedly "you know it's weird how all the statues here only has one head , when your aplans have two heads" The doctor freezes at that "oh" Amy whips round to look at them "What's wrong?" River looks about and clicks on too "oh" The collective penny has finally dropped. "Exactly" The doctor says flashlight darting around the place. "How could we have not noticed that?"

River asks him, the doctor looks at her before replying back "Low level perception filter, or maybe we're thick …" The doctor presses a kiss to the side of Fallons head and whispers "amazing thought process as usual Lovely, please stay close" Octavian walks back and looks around and then back at the doctor "What's wrong, sir?" "Nobody move. Nobody move. Everyone stay exactly where they are. Bishop, I am truly sorry. I've made a mistake and we are all in terrible danger." The doctor exclaims to the group, Octavian still not clocking on looks at them confused "What danger?" Fallon rolls her eyes at his damn dumbness "chuck sake look around , look bloody closely" ,The doctor squeezes her hand and whispers in her ear "Easy love easy" Fallon sighs and keeps quiet as River tries to explain to Octavian "The Aplans"Octavian still not getting it "The Aplans?" Fallon rolls her eyes again and River suppresses a smirk at her , "They've got two heads." Octavian still not grasping the situation continues on " Yes, I get that. So?" The doctor bits in "So why don't the statues? Everyone, over there. Just move. Don't ask questions, don't speak" everyone listens to the doctor and they move into an alcove away from the statues.

Fallon feels an ache at the back of her neck before it's gone , she thinks back to flashes she got earlier with necks snapping , she shivers at the thoughts, she brought back to reality by the doctor informing everyone "Okay, I want you all to switch off your torches." One of the clerics who Fallon learns name is Marco looks worried about that "Sir?" Doctor adamantly tells them "Just do it. Okay. I'm going to turn off this one too, just for a moment." River shakes her head and sighs "Are you sure about this?" "No…" as he says that the light goes out then back in an instant. Fallon flinches when Amy grabs onto her arm "Oh, my God. They've moved." The Doctor runs down the passage, and it is filled statues coming towards them. "They're Angels. All of them". River gives him a look of between shock and worry Fallon can't really think what one she feels more "But they can't be"

"Clerics, keep watching them" he shouts as he runs back to a vantage point of the main cavern. All the statues are climbing up towards them the doctor grabs Fallon by the hand again making sure she's with him " Every statue in this Maze, every single one, is a Weeping Angel. They're coming after us."

Meanwhile at the entrance chamber , the cleric Bob is keeping an eye out when he hears his fellow men Angelo call out to him "Bob, come and see this" Bob calls out back " Angelo? " Angelo repeats himself again "Come and see what we've found." Bob calls over to him "Are you with Christian? The Bishop said you'd be five minutes." Angelo calmly replies eerily " I'm here, Bob. Come and see this." Bob sighs "Where are you?" "Through the arch, Bob. Honestly, you've got to come and see this." Angelo exclaims to Bob Bob continues to hesitate "What have you found?" "Come and see." Angelo replies once again.

Bob once again hesitates "No. What is it?" Angelo continues to tempt him "Come and see." It finally works and Bob walks cautiously into the side chamber, and the Angel pounces.

Back with the group in the Maze , Fallon continues to feel really uneasy and feels the ache in her neck once again, River tries to process what's going on "But there was only one Angel on the ship. Just the one, I swear." Amy tries to be helpful and reassuring to her "Could they have been here already?" The doctor keeps glancing over at Fallon , his mind overflowing working things out , he also knows something is up with Fallon , but knows this Fallon is too young she wont outright tell him what's wrong "The Aplans. What happened? How did they die out?" He questions. River shrugs "Nobody knows , The doctor shakes his head in disagreement "We know." Octavian looks around still not quite believing the situation "They don't look like Angels" Amy adds in to the discussion "And they're not fast. You said they were fast. They should have had us by now." Doctor sighs "Look at them. They're dying, losing their form. They must have been down here for centuries, starving." Amy ponders what he says "Losing their image?" The doctor clicks his fingers at her " And their image is their power. Power. Power!" Fallon thinks to herself where would they get the power?, what are they feeding on? Amy stares at the doctor "Doctor?" The doctor jumps slightly "Don't you see? All that radiation spilling out the drive burn. The crash of the Byzantium wasn't an accident, it was a rescue mission for the Angels. We're in the middle of an army, and it's waking up." Fallon gets the answer to her question about where the angels are getting their power, maybe she will get the hang of this world after all she muses to herself, River snaps her out her thoughts by loudly announcing "We need to get out of here fast."

Fallon watches Octavian radio his men. ,she gets that bad feeling once again "Bob, Angelo, Christian, come in, please. Any of you, come in." A voice comes through the radio "It's Bob, sir. Sorry, sir." Octavian speaks into the radio once again "Bob, are Angelo and Christian with you? All the statues are active. I repeat, all the statues are active" The voice of Bob comes through once again and it sound eerily calm "I know, sir. Angelo and Christian are dead, sir. The statues killed them, sir." At that

The Doctor grabs Octavian's walkie-talkie. "Bob, Sacred Bob, it's me, the Doctor." Octavian looks offended at the doctors actions "I'm talking to-" The doctor cuts Octavian off "Where are you now?" Octavian tries once again "I'm talking to my-

The doctor once again ignores him "Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, shut up." If the situation wasn't so serious and of Fallon didn't have that awful feeling she would of deeply enjoyed the dumbfounded look on Octavians face. The voice of Bob comes through once again "I'm on my way up to you, sir. I'm homing in on your signal." Fallons stomach sinks at that , that should be good news but something just doesn't add up, the doctor rubs his thumb along the back of Fallons hand while he speaks "Ah, well done, Bob. Scared keeps you fast. Told you, didn't I. Your friends, Bob. What did the Angel do to them?" Bob speaks up "Snapped their necks, sir." As soon as Fallon hears that her stomach drops further and she frowns she had weird flashes in her mind of snapped necks , could she have stopped this? , is this her fault? The doctor watches Fallons face and notices the slight guilty look in her eyes , he speaks in the com again "That's odd. That's not how the Angels kill you. They displace you in time. Unless they needed the bodies for something." Octavian takes the chance and interrupts "Bob, did you check their data packs for vital signs? We may be able to initiate a rescue plan." Doctor scoffs at him "Oh, don't be an idiot. The Angels don't leave you alive. Bob, keep running. But tell me, how did you escape?" There's a moment of silence when his voice comes through once again "I didn't escape, sir. The Angel killed me, too." " the doctor freezes a little "What do you mean, the Angel killed you?" Bob almost joyfully speaks back "Snapped my neck, sir. Wasn't as painless as I expected, but it was pretty quick, so that was something." Damn and Fallon thought Angels in her world were something, these ones are a whole different stock of messed up. The Doctor decides to ask a very important question "If you're dead, how can I be talking to you?" BoB the now angel politely replies "You're not talking to me, sir. The Angel has no voice. It stripped my cerebral cortex from my body and re-animated a version of my consciousness to communicate with you. Sorry about the confusion." Doctor asks just for confirmation "So when you say you're on your way up to us- It's the Angel that's coming," Bob cuts in "sir, yes. No way out." Octavian takes action "Then we get out through the wreckage. Go! Go, go, go. All of you run." Fallon still has look of confused guilt in her eyes and she decides to speak up to the doctor "I had this weird flash in my mind earlier on it was a neck snapping , I've never had that before , I should of said something… I-I could.. of done something… are they dead because of me?" Fallon says a little emotional, The doctor stares at where before placing his arms on her shoulders a rubs them "I will explain what happening later with the seeing things in your mind , but no this isn't your fault , bad things happen Lovely and sometimes we can't control it okay?" He presses a quick kiss to her head "go on with the others , I will catch up" Fallon nods and walks on towards where River is waiting for her.

Amy calls out to the doctor a little panicked "Doctor". The doctor not really paying attention absentmindedly says to her and Octavian "Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm coming. Just go. Go, go, go. Yeah. Called you an idiot. Sorry, but there's no way we could have rescued your men." Octavian gives him a hard look "I know that, sir. And when you've flown away in your little blue box, I'll explain that to their families." The doctor gives a pained look before speaking to Angel Bob again "Angel Bob. Which Angel am I talking to? The one from the ship?" "Yes, sir. And the other Angels are still restoring."

The doctor nods he can work with that "Ah, so the Angel is not in the wreckage. Thank you." The doctor runs past Amy "calling out as he does "Don't wait for me. Go, run." Amy shakily says to him "I can't. No, really, I can't." The doctor freezes at that "Why not?" Amy looks at him exasperated "Look at it. Look at my hand. It's stone."

Further up in the Tunnel, there is sounds of metal creaking Octavian points out "Well. There it is, the Byzantium." River nods and looks at it " It's got to be thirty feet. How do we get up there?" Octavian turns to the clerics with him "Check all these exits. I want them all secure." Fallon eventually catches up with them , but she keeps glancing back , she's worried about Amy , she's worried about the doctor, she's worried about too many things. River walks in step with her and glances at her every so often her eyes soften as she watches Fallon she's just so young and has so much to come "I know you don't know any of us , and you don't know me , but I'm here for you Fallon always" Fallon looks up and takes in Rivers words and gives her a smile back , the words were appreciated.

Back at the Maze , The doctor stops beside Amy "You looked into the eyes of an Angel, didn't you?" Amy frowns at him "I couldn't stop myself. I tried." This is all I need , angels , a young Fallon and now this - The doctor thinks to himself before snapping out of his thoughts and looking at Amy "Listen to me. It's messing with your head. Your hand is not made of stone." Amy groans "It is. Look at it." The doctor glances at the incoming angels "It's in your mind, I promise you. You can move that hand. You can let go." Amy panics and stares down at her hand "I can't, okay? I've tried and I can't. It's stone." The doctor shakes his head "The Angel is going to come and it's going to turn this light off, and then there's nothing I can do to stop it, so do it. Concentrate. Move your hand." Amy once again tries "I can't." The doctor sighs "Then we're both going to die." Amy eyes widen at that "You're not going to die." Doctor sighs once again "They'll kill the lights." Amy frowns and shakily tries to put a brave voice on "You've got to go. You know you have. You've got all that stuff with Fallon and it's her first time here, you wouldn't leave her and you both have stuff with River and that's all got to happen. You know you can't die here." Doctor pauses in thought at the mention of his Fallon "Time can be re-written. It doesn't work like that." Doctor and Amy both look and they see the statues arrive

"Amy Keep your eyes on it. Don't blink." Amy groans at him "Run""Amy , You see, I'm not going. I'm not leaving you here." Amy tries to keep her voice calm as she says to him "I don't need you to die for me, Doctor. Do I look that clingy?" The doctor retorts to her "You can move your hand." "it's stone" The doctor again shakes his head "it's not stone." Amy once again tries to put a brave face on "You've got to go. Those people up there will die without you. If you stay here with me, you'll have as good as killed them." The doctor sighs and says to her softly "Amy Pond, you are magnificent, and I'm sorry." Amy bows her head slightly "It's okay. I understand. You've got to leave me." The doctor lips curl up slightly "Oh, no, I'm not leaving you, never. I'm sorry about this." he leans down and bites her hand, Amy rips her hand away "Ow!" The doctor looks chuffed "See? Not stone. Now run." Amy is too busy staring at a the bite mark, "You bit me." The doctor gives her a sarcastic look "Yeah, and you're alive." Amy still looking at the bite "Look, I've got a mark. Look at my hand."

"Uh Yes, and you're alive. Did I mention?"

Amy laughs a little "Blimey, your teeth. Have you got space teeth?" The doctor rolls his eyes "Yeah. Alive. All I'm saying."

The doctor and Amy finally catch up with the others and Fallon looks relieved at that , the cleric Marco turns to inform them saying "The statues are advancing along all corridors. And, sir, my torch keeps flickering." Octavian nods "They all do." River adds in "So does the gravity globe." Octavian looks at his remaining men "Clerics, we're down to four men. Expect incoming." The doctor glances at Fallon and runs his eyes over her checking her over before saying "Yeah, it's the Angels. They're coming. And they're draining the power for themselves." Octavian takes a minute to process that information "Which means we won't be able to see them."

The doctor mutters "Which means we can't stay here , Octavian warns his men and the group " Two more incoming" River looks about impatient before asking "Any suggestions?"

Octavian reports the situation updating the others saying "The statues are advancing on all sides. We don't have the climbing equipment to reach the Byzantium." River sighs and runs a hand through her hair "There's no way up, no way back, no way out. No pressure, but this is usually when you have a really good idea."

The doctor looks around and informs them "There's always a way out." "There's always a way out. There's always a way out." His words echoing slightly. The com activates again , Angel Bobs voice coming back through "Doctor? Can I speak to the Doctor, please?" The doctor raises it to his mouth to speak "Hello, Angels. What's your problem?"

"Your power will not last much longer, and the Angels will be with you shortly. Sorry, sir."

The doctor looks confused for a moment "Why are you telling me this?" Bobs voices comes through again "There's something the Angels are very keen you should know before the end."

"Which is?"

bobs voice comes though sounding to calm "I died in fear." This strikes the doctor deep "I'm sorry?" Angel Bob continues on " You told me my fear would keep me alive, but I died afraid, in pain and alone. You made me trust you, and when it mattered, you let me down." Amy turns to River and asks "What are they doing?" River sighs "They're trying to make him angry."

Bobs voice comes through one more time "Can the Angel speak to Fallon. , the seer" Fallon looks surprised and a little worried that the nickname they gave her goes over her head. The doctor holds the com towards Fallon and she speaks into it "Hello Angels, you wanted to speak to me" Angel Bob comes back through "yes how does it feel?

Fallon asks waiting for a reply, when she here's the Angel speak again "how does it feel Fallon to be in a new universe and blood already soaked on your hands from others while you survive.." River shakes her head in annoyance at that and Fallon frowns deeply at that "wow angels here sure don't mince their words" The doctor growls at that and puts the com to his mouth "enough , I'm cutting you off , no more speaking to her, now then the Angels have made their second mistake because I'm not going to let that pass. I'm sorry you're dead, Bob, but I swear to whatever is left of you, they will be sorrier."

Bob replies back matter of a fact "But you're trapped, sir, and about to die along with the seer." The doctors face goes dark at the mention of Fallon dying "Yeah. I'm trapped. And you know what? Speaking of traps, this trap has got a great big mistake in it. A great big, whopping mistake."

"What mistake, sir?"

The doctor turns to Amy "Trust me." Amy nods "Yeah." He then turns to River "Trust me?" River doesn't hesitate to reply "always" The doctor turns to Fallon and learns in close to her "I know you don't know me and I know this comes hard to you but please , trust me" Fallon givens him a long look she can see that he is being genuine and then nods "you have my trust" The doctor smiles and quickly kisses her forehead* The doctor then glances at Octavian "You lot, trust me?" Octavian nods "We have faith, sir." The doctor has a slight spring in his step now that he has a plan "Then give me your gun. I'm about to do something incredibly stupid and dangerous. When I do, jump!"

Octavian looks at the doctor confused "Jump where?" The doctor rolls his eyes slightly "Just jump, high as you can. Come on, leap of faith, Bishop. On my signal." Octavian glances at the doctor "What signal? The doctor sighs "You won't miss it." At this point Angel Bob comes back though "Sorry, can I ask again? You mentioned a mistake we made." The Doctor points the gun at the hull of the Byzantium.

"Oh, big mistake. Huge. Didn't anyone every tell you there's one thing you never put in a trap? If you're smart, if you value your continued existence, if you have any plans about seeing tomorrow, there is one thing you never, ever put in a trap.

"And what would that be, sir?"

"Me."

As soon as he says that He shoots at the Byzantium and the thought of damn that was hot runs through her head.
