Two days later...

Those past couple of days have been amazing for Maya. Her constant drinking made her feel numb to everything she disliked about life while filling her with the best sensations she has ever felt. Everything was just fine to her.

However, many people began noticing Maya's unusual behavior. And those people included none other than her adoptive sisters Mymy and Coco.

Mymy observed as Maya stumbled across the house, laughing. Curiosity took over her mind. Why the hell was Maya of all people feeling this jolly about... whatever was making her so happy? Why is she having such difficulty doing simple things such as walking? And, most importantly, why is Maya approaching-

"Heeeeey, Mymy...", Maya said to Mymy. "How are things going for ya?"

"Uh, good, Maya...", Mymy awkwardly replied. "How about you? You're acting... unusually unlike yourself, you know?"

"Hehe... don't mind it, Mymy!", Maya replied while holding herself against the wall. "I'm doing just fine! I'm just more... mindful, you know?"

"I see...", Mymy replied, not believing Maya for a second. "Anyway, tomorrow, me and Coco are planning to go to the mall. Do you want to come with us?"

Maya froze for a second.

"Sure!", Maya replied. "I have certain things that I want to buy there, so I'd love to go there with you guys!"

Mymy found this extremely strange. Maya wanting to participate in something she and Coco were also planning to do? And a thing that involves going outside as well? She definitely knew that Maya was not under a normal state of mind.

"Uh, alright then.", Replied Mymy.

Maya then went back to her room and Mymy knocked on Coco's door.

"Oh, hey, Mymy!", Coco said as she opened her bedroom door.

"Hey, Coco!", Mymy replied. "Can we have a little talk for a moment?"

"Sure thing, come in!"

Then, Mymy entered Coco's room and sat on her bed.

"You know, Coco, I think Maya's been acting very unusual lately.", Mymy began. "Do you know what I mean?"

"Yes, I do, actually.", Coco replied. "She's been very talkative and positive lately for sure. I still have no idea what's up with that, but I'm at least glad that she feels fine-"

"No, Coco, you don't get it!", Mymy interrupted. "She just struck a full blown conversation with me earlier, and she ACCEPTED going to the mall with us! Don't you see how utterly strange this is? We're talking about Maya here, for Kapitein Koek's sake!"

"Now that you put it that way, Mymy... It does sound strange..."

"EXACTLY! We need to get to the bottom of this, Coco! When we go to the mall, we'll keep an eye on how Maya behaves. Do you understand?"

"Yes, but I don't know if she's ok with us treading on her p-"

"Whatever, Coco, we HAVE to find out what's going on with her!"

Meanwhile, in Maya's room, she was, once again, drunk, and looking at her bottle of wine. There was only about a drink left in it. She knew that she had to get more alcohol somehow, as she was not looking forward to being sober for a single day anymore. But how?

She then remembered the conversation she just had with Mymy.

"The mall...", Maya thought. "I'm pretty sure they do sell alcohol in malls... That's it! Maya, you're a fucking genius!"

She then walked up to her wardrobe and began analyzing it. Then, she found the perfect piece of clothing for this situation: a black jacket with hidden pockets inside. She moved it to the top of the shelf to make sure she remembers to put it on to go to the mall.

One day later...

Maya wakes up. She's kinda used to being hungover, but still drank what was left of her wine so she didn't have to deal with it. And, yes, she managed to gulp it all down completely straight.

After eating breakfast, she dressed herself up and went to the mall with her sisters. As soon as they entered it, they all agreed to meet each other at that same entrace and went their own separate ways. Maya waited until her sisters went out of sight and started looking for any store that sells alcohol, and soon found a liquor store. She entered it and ran straight to the whiskey section, putting two bottles in her pocket. Then, she found some vodka, and, right as she was about to grab a bottle:

"Hey, there!", an employee of the store told her. "Do you need any help?"

"N-no!", Maya replied after a few seconds of awkward silence.

"Aaaaalright then...", the employee replied. "If you need anything, just call me up and I'll help you no problemo!"

Then, the employee walked out. Maya looked both ways to see if there was anyone around and placed a bottle of vodka in one of her hidden pockets. There was only one pocket left, so she quickly grabbed a bottle of the same wine she lifted from Vera's office and shoved it in her last pocket. After an extra minute pretending to look for something, she walked off and went to the bathroom to catch a breath.

"Fuck, that was close!", she thought. "But, hey, I managed to grab some of the good stuff!"

Then, Maya opened up the bottle of wine, drank a random amount from it, and went back to the entrance. She got so drunk from that previous sip that she had to sit down on the floor. The adrenaline rush from the shoplifting made her even more euphoric than the alcohol alone. She gazed at the roof and looked at people passing by in the upstairs floors while giggling and feeling amused. However, she soon heard Coco's voice and pretended to be sober. They all went back home, and, as usual, Maya locked herself in her room.

She placed all of the bottles on her table. Besides the wine, they were all 40% alcohol.

"Man, that's a lot of alcohol that I lifted!", Maya thought to herself. "I won't have to do that again for a long while!"

She then put all but one of the bottles in her backpack. It was irresponsible to show up drunk at school, but to Maya, that did not matter at all. Being drunk kept her comfortable enough to ignore all of the weird looks from other people. They just don't get it!
