Butterfree's Goodbye
forest, daytime,
Lincoln and the group were having breakfast, while Lincoln was looking at the map.
"Ok guys the next town is west of where we are," Lincoln said.
"Yup that leads to celadon city," misty said." it's famous for its beautiful perfume."
"Really I can get one for my nana gale," Clyde said.
"Same with myrtle," Lincoln said.
after they finished their breakfast, everyone started putting their dishes away and got dressed, until Bobby noticed a flock of buterfree fly by.
"Hey, where are they going?" Bobby asked.
"It must be mating season," brock replied.
"Mating season?" Ronnie Anne questioned.
"Yeah, the butterfree mating season happens every year, they find another butterfree to be its mate, once they do they fly off into the sunset to have their babies," misty explained.
"that's so beautiful," Bobby said as he tears up.
"Then I guess, I'll do the same for butterfree then," Lincoln said.
"Really link?" brock asked.
"Yup," Lincoln replied.
"Lucky for us, there are hot air balloons around," brock said.
"I'll say," Clyde said.
the group get a hot air balloon and started flying, they soon see lots of other wild butterfree's and trainer's releasing their butterfree's flying around finding mates.
"Wow, there's so many of them, will butterfree find a mate?" Clyde asked.
"of course, he's awesome," Lincoln replied, as he released butterfree."
"Hey link, what's up?" butterfree asked.
"it's time to find a mate buddy," Lincoln replied.
"Oh, mating season, on it," butterfree said.
brock sees a beautiful girl release her butterfree, and his face get red.
"butterfree did you see the butterfree that girl just sent out, (points at it) that right pick that one, don't you get it, if two trainer's butterfee fall in love then they can fall in love too," brock said, until he got knocked in the head.
"don't meddle in someone's love life," Ronnie Anne yelled.
"Yeah, we'll help butterfree when he finds his mate," Clyde said.
butterfree flies off to find his mate, until he sees a pink one and falls in love and flies to it and started his dance.
"what's he doing?" Lincoln asked.
"a mating dance, butterfree's uses it to impress their mates," brock replied.
"Does it work?" Bobby asked.
the pink butterfree slaps butterfree making everyone winced.
"Sometimes it does," brock replied as butterfree flies back to the others.
"Sorry guys I failed, she doesn't like me," butterfree said feeling down.
"Hey, don't feel like that, you should show her how awesome you are," Lincoln encouraged.
"Mostly, take it slow and get to know her first," Ronnie Anne said.
"Yeah, you're right, thanks link, thanks Ronnie Anne," butterfree said, as he fly's back to impress the pink butterfree.
"The only time to meddle in someone's love life, is when they ask for help, not automatically interfere," Lincoln said, as everyone nods in agreement.
suddenly, a helicopter appeared revealing to be team rocket, with two grunts." well, well time for catching season," the female grunt said.
"I agree, let's get started," the male grunt said, as they deploy a giant net and started capturing the butterfree's.
"Guys, we got to stop them!" Ronnie Anne said.
"I know but the balloons not fast enough," brock said.
Lincoln's butterfree continues to ram the helicopter by ramming it, but with no luck," this one has some spunk, but we got what we need," the female grunt said.
the helicopter flies away as Lincoln's butterfree follows them, Lincoln and the others continue to follow them.
mountain area,
Lincoln and the others reach the mountain area where they meet up with butterfree," butterfree, do you know where they are?" Lincoln asked.
"Yeah, they headed towards that garage place," butterfree replied.
"Ok, operation butterfree freedom is a go," Lincoln said as everyone nods.
inside the garage hideout,
"100 butterfree's, this'll make stealing Pokémon easy when those fools are asleep," the male rocket grunt said.
"We might even get a promotion for this," the female grunt said, until they heard a window break.
"What was that?!" the female grunt asked.
"Hi there low lives," Lincoln said.
"it's that brat, I heard him, and his friends beat our other team in lavender town," the male grunt said.
"Who cares, let's get them!" the female grunt said.
the two grunts send out their Pokémon, the females are a houndour, poochyena, and ekans, the male grunts are hitmotop, koffing, and raticate Lincoln sends Pikachu, Clyde sends sobble, Bobby sends sprigatito, Ronnie Anne sends Eevee, misty sends starmie, and brock sends geodude. while everyone was battling Lincoln's butterfree was busy trying to free the captured butterfree, while he was doing that, the pink butterfree was admiring him, Lincoln's butterfree used his full strength and busted them out.
"The butterfree are escaping!" the male grunt yelled.
"Then stop them!" the female grunt yelled back.
they didn't notice that their Pokémon were being flowed at them, during that time Bobby opened the garage doors helping the butterfree escape.
"butterfree, are you ok?" Lincoln asked.
"Yeah, I'm good," butterfree replied, as the pink butterfree flew towards them.
"Got you," the male grunt said, as Lincoln's butterfree headbutted him away.
"Nice one, now let's go," Lincoln said.
as the butterfree fly away, Lincoln and the others got in their hot air balloon and flew behind them, until the two rocket grunts got back in their helicopter.
"YOU'RE NOT GETTING AWAY!" the female grunt screamed; the helicopter brings out the giant net.
"We can't let them recapture them," Clyde said.
"Got an idea, Pikachu butterfree go," Lincoln said.
"On it," Pikachu said, as he jumps on butterfree's back and fly to team rockets helicopter.
the two flies towards the helicopter, until Pikachu jumps up and fires an electro ball at the helicopter, causes it to explode, Pikachu lands back on butterfree's back. the two grunts are seen falling down a cavern.
butterfree flies back to the others," nice work you two," Lincoln said, as Pikachu lands on Lincoln's shoulder.
the pink butterfree flew to lincoln's butterfree," um, butterfree thanks for saving me," the pink butterfree said as she blushed and does the mating dance.
"Looks like butterfree won her heart," Bobby said.
"Yeah," Lincoln said, but was feeling a little uneasy.
At a cliff over the sea, Sunset,
the two rocket grunts were seen tied up and hanging from a tree passed out, while Lincoln and the others were Infront of the two butterfree's.
"Welp butterfree, this is it," brock said, as butterfree nods.
"Yeah, and its thanks to you guys," butterfree said.
"Your babies are gonna be beautiful," misty said.
Lincoln takes a knee," butterfree is a great guy, take good care of him," Lincoln said to the pink butterfree.
"I will, I promise," the pink butterfree replied as she flies up.
"butterfree I want to let you know this isn't goodbye, it's more like see you later," Lincoln said.
"Lincoln, I'll never forget you, your friends, and family, mostly Leni and Lana, please tell them they'll be great aunts and your parents will be great grandparents," butterfree said, as he was on the verge to cry.
"I will buddy, I will," Lincoln said as butterfree flies up to his mate and they start to fly off into the sunset.
"we'll miss buddy," Pikachu said tearing up.
"I know I haven't known him long, but he's a great Pokémon," Bobby said, crying.
"Yeah, I remember meeting it back in royal woods," Clyde said crying.
Lincoln continues to see the butterfree's fly off, remembering the first time he caught it and had adventures with it through its evolution, butterfree was remembering the same thing, along with memories of Leni making an outfit based off him, Lana with cleaning his wings, helping Rita with her garden, helping Lynn sr. prevent birds from pooping on vanvilla.
"Lincoln, butterfree is almost out of sight," misty said.
tears fall from Lincoln's face," take care butterfree, good luck buddy," Lincoln said as he waves goodbye.
"butterfree cries happy tears as he turs around to see Lincoln one last time as he and his mate are out of sight.
"Link, are you gonna be, ok?" Ronnie Anne asked worried.
"Yeah, I'll be fine, I feel like a parent letting his child go and be with the one he loves," Lincoln replied, wiping his tears.
"You raised butterfree great little loud, and I know he knows it too," Bobby said patting Lincoln's back.
"Yeah, thanks Bobby," Lincoln said." come on, lets head to the next town before it gets to dark.
everyone starts to walk away, but Lincoln gave one last look at the sunset,' I know we'll meet again butterfree someday,' Lincoln thought with one last tear falling from his face.
That's chapter 45, it took me a while because remembering that episode always made me cry, next chapter is Lola's biggest change in her life.
and rocky, I like the idea but what did Lola do to Lindsey, also bruteroot won't be with Lola but a different Pokémon.
same with you chase, a possibility of her doing that.
