Chapter 38: A Double Primal Threat! Vs. Primal Kyogre & Primal Groudon!
Steven and the girls watched amazed as Rayquaza descended from the sky.
Ruby - "Is that?"
Weiss - "It is."
Twilight - "Lady Rayquaza..."
Steven - "Look! There on Lady Rayquaza's back!"
As Rayquaza continued her descent, the girls looked to see that Michael, Delcatty, and Swampert were riding on her back.
Rayquaza - "Enough! Both of you!"
Kyogre/Groudon - "Sister!"
Rayquaza - "May I ask who were the ones that awakened you?"
Kyogre and Groudon then pointed at Archie and Maxie, who were standing front of the Sootopolis Gym.
Rayquaza - "Who are they pointing to Michael?"
Michael - "Archie and Maxie. The heads of Team Aqua and Team Magma. Along with getting super arrogant and being the reason we're in this entire situation in the first place."
Rayquaza - "I see..."
Rayquaza then slowly floated over.
Michael - "Archie! Maxie! Get over here right now!"
Yang - "Well those two are in a lot of trouble."
Rainbow - "No questions they are."
Archie and Maxie slowly walked over and looked up at Michael and Rayquaza.
Maxie - "What do you want us to do Michael?"
Michael - "First. The both of you will apologize to Lady Kyogre AND Lord Groudon for rudely awakening them. And Lady Rayquaza for ruining the peace she had made for Hoenn. Then, after I battle AND catch Lady Kyogre and Lord Groudon, the two of you and your teams will go around the region and apologize to all of the people you made trouble for. Speaking of which. Steven! You know where Dr. Kozmo is?"
Steven - "He's at the Space Center in Mossdeep City right now!"
Michael - "Good. That saves Maxie and Team Magma from having to travel twice. So just the Space Center for you guys. As for Archie and Team Aqua, you guys have to apologize to Captain Stern and his crew in Slateport, along with returning their Submarine Explorer 1, as well as all of Devon Corp. for interrupting their business dealings. Can you guys do that?"
Archie/Maxie - "Of course! And we're very sorry to you and your siblings for the trouble we caused Lady Rayquaza."
Rayquaza - "You both are forgiven. Just make sure to learn from this and NEVER do it again."
Archie/Maxie - "Yes ma'am!"
Michael - "Good. Ok Lady Rayquaza. Back out over the water please."
Rayquaza - "Of course Michael."
Everyone watched as Rayquaza slowly turned around and floated back out over the water.
Rayquaza - "This far out enough for you Michael?"
Michael - "It's perfect Lady Rayquaza. Thank you. Now then. Lady Kyogre! Lord Groudon! Which of you two am I going to challenge first?"
Groudon - "Ladies first sis."
Kyogre - "Awww. Thank you dear brother. I'm first them Michael."
Michael - "You're up then Delcatty."
Delcatty - "Right."
Kyogre - "Ah. So this is the little cat that helped you catch Lady Suicune and Lady Lugia. Well I assure you that I'm just as strong as them, if not even more so."
Michael - "Good to hear. Then take this for me."
Michael then threw something at Kyogre. To her shock, it was the Blue Orb. Kyogre did flinched upon seeing it, but then she saw that she was in her Primal form and DIDN'T lose control at all.
Primal Kyogre - "How did...?"
Michael - "Well, well. Turns out my theory was right after all."
Groudon - "Your theory?"
Michael - "That's correct Lord Groudon. Back then, the both of you were FORCED into your Primal forms. So I figured that by infusing my Dragon Aura into your respective Orbs, you could both achieve your Primal forms WILLINGLY. And it turns out that I was right."
Rayquaza - "Will you have to do it again?"
Michael - "Nope. The power of the Orbs themselves was always there, but due to HOW Lady Kyogre and Lord Groudon were awakened back then, it was never used properly."
Primal Kyogre - "Thank you Michael. I know I'm at my TRUE full power. Now then. You and Delcatty had better give me a battle to remember!"
Michael/Delcatty - "With pleasure!"
Michael then activated his Battle Disk, which caused an aura to surround Primal Kyogre.
Primal Kyogre: Attack +1, Defense +1, Sp. Attack +1, Sp. Defense +1, Speed +1

Michael - "Let's go Delcatty!"
Delcatty - "On it!"
Primal Kyogre's Primordial Sea ability then activated, which caused it to rain very heavily.

Both attacks met in a stalemate, then deflected each other away and widely missed their targets.
Michael - "Hehehe. Well, Delcatty. Compared to your battles with Lady Suicune and Lady Lugia back in Johto, this battle has already turned up to an eleven."
Delcatty - "Well I'm for sure NOT backing down without a fight!"
Primal Kyogre - "Good answer. Now give me everything you've got!"

Primal Kyogre - "Primal Hydro Origin Ice!"
Michael - "Shadow Thunder!"
This time both attacks hit their targets. Kyogre flinched a bit, while Delcatty got roughly pushed back.
Michael - "You ok there Delcatty?"
Delcatty - "Just fine Michael..."
Swampert - "Delcatty..."
Michael - "I know you're trying to tough it out Delcatty. But one more hit like that, and you might as well be knocked..."
Michael then shook his head.
Michael - "No! I need to have faith in Delcatty! What kind of Pokémon Trainer would I be if I didn't otherwise!"

Primal Kyogre - "Primal Hydro Origin Ice!"
Michael - "Shadow Thunder!"
Both attacks met in another stalemate. But this time, due to Delcatty's weakened state, she lost the stalemate and crashed into the cavern's wall back first.
Michael/Swampert - "Delcatty!"
Delcatty then crashed to ground in a heap.
Clair - "Oh no..."
Groudon - "Damnit sis..."
Rayquaza - "To be fair, Michael and Delcatty wanted to give Lady Kyogre's Primal form a challenge. But still. To think the power gap is this big..."

Suddenly, when all hope seemed lost, Michael heard a faint voice.
(Insert Music: Undertale OST – Hopes and Dreams)
? - "N-No..."
Michael's head snapped up, seeing that the voice was coming from none other than Delcatty.
Delcatty - "Not... Yet..."
Michael - "Delcatty..."
Everyone watched stunned as Delcatty willed herself to her feet.
Delcatty - "I'm Not Done Yet!"
Michael's Key Ring then shined brightly, reacting to Delcatty's will and aura.
Michael - "B-But that's impossible. Delcatty CAN'T Mega Evolve. Unless..."
He quickly realized his error in judgement.
Michael - "It's something similar to it!"
Michael then grabbed his left wrist.
Michael - "Lady Arceus, hear my plea! Let my bond with Delcatty bring forth the birth of a new power! Go, Mega Soul Evolution! Appear, Mega Soul Delcatty!"
Lance - "Mega..."
Steven - "...Soul..."
Leon - "...Evolution?"
Delcatty's body was enveloped in a bright light which filled up the entire cavern. After a few moments, the light faded to reveal Delcatty in an entirely new form.
Michael - "Is that you Delcatty?"
Mega Soul Delcatty - "Yes Michael. It's me. And to be honest, I'm actually just as curious as you are about what happened to me."
Michael then quickly scanned Mega Soul Delcatty and was very surprised at what he saw.
Primal Kyogre - "Well now. Seems like this battle just got exciting again."
Michael - "This battle's far from over Lady Kyogre. And Mega Soul Delcatty and I plan on throwing everything we have at you!"
Primal Kyogre - "Good. Now Bring It On!"

Michael - "Fly around dodging and charge up energy!"
Mega Soul Delcatty - "Right!"
Mega Soul Delcatty then began using her new powers and was around across the water, charging up energy for what she knew would be her final attack of the entire battle.
Primal Kyogre - "Fly around all you want! In the end you'll still lose!"

Michael's Hand: 6 + 1 = 7
Primal Kyogre: Attack +1, Defense +1, Sp. Attack +1, Sp. Defense +1, Speed +1
Current Weather: Heavy Rain
Primal Kyogre - "Take this! Full Power Primal Hydro Origin Ice!"
Michael - "Special Sword, Grass Sword, Ghost Sword, and Electric Sword! Full Power Mega Soul Solar Shadow Thunder! Oh, and apologies before I forget Lady Primal Kyogre."

Primal Kyogre - "What for?"
Michael - "For what I'm about to reveal with Delcatty's Mega Soul Evolution. First is her typing. She goes from being a pure Normal-Type, to a dual Dragon and Psychic-Type."
Groudon - "Hey so that means sis gets a type advantage."
Kyogre - "But also a type resistance as well."
Groudon - "Oh..."
Primal Hydro Origin Ice's Current Power: 585 x 2 = 1,170/2 = 585/2 = 292.5
Michael - "Now for Delcatty's abilities."
Roxanne - "Abilities?"
Michael - "That's correct Roxanne. For the ability that was changed, Cute Charm has been replaced with Neuroforce."
Fluttershy - "What does Neuroforce do again?"
Twilight - "It increases the power of all moves with a type advantage by 25%."
Michael - "But that's not all. In a strange twist, Delcatty also has a second ability called Soul Boost."
Rayquaza - "And just what does it do?"
Michael - "Quite simple really. Regardless of the Pokémon's current typing, ALL of their moves get a STAB boost. And that's not all."
Weiss - "What do you mean by that?"
Michael - "The STAB boost is also increased. From 1.5x to double."
Michael's Hand: 7 – 4 = 3

Ghost Sword (Michael): Turn 1/3
Electric Sword (Michael): Turn 1/3

Michael then threw the Ultra Ball at Primal Kyogre, which sucked her into it and fell onto the slab of land that Groudon had brought up using his powers.

Three shakes.

Just as everyone began celebrating, it quickly stopped as Mega Soul Delcatty suddenly turned back to normal and began falling towards the water."
Michael - "Delcatty!"
Thankfully, Swampert quickly jumped into the water, then swam over to where Delcatty was falling and caught her on his back. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief as Delcatty was safe. Michael then floated over and checked on her condition.
Michael - "She's got a pulse. But she's very weak right. Got her over to the Pokémon Center pronto. I'll wait for you here."
Swampert - "Right."
Rainbow - "Come on out Skarmory."
Mumei - "What are you bringing Skarmory out for Rainbow?"
Rainbow - "Fluttershy. You and Fauna ride my Skarmory over to the Pokémon Center to assist Nurse Joy with Delcatty."
Fluttershy - "Of course. Come on Fauna."
Fauna - "Right."
Both girls quickly got on Skarmory's back.
Rainbow - "Get moving Skarmory!"
Skarmory - "Yes ma'am!"
Skarmory then took off, carrying Fluttershy and Fauna over to the Pokémon Center as some of the townsfolk were escorting Nurse Joy and Chansey, who was also pushing a stretcher, over to the water's edge. Skarmory landed and let her passengers off, then flew back over to Rainbow.
Fluttershy - "Nurse Joy!"
Nurse Joy - "I take it you two are friends of Michael?"
Fauna - "Yes we are."
Nurse Joy - "Good. I'm gonna need some help with Delcatty here."
Fluttershy, Fauna, and a few of the townsfolks assisted with gently moving Delcatty from Swampert's back to the stretcher.
Fauna - "Don't worry Swampert. We'll make sure Delcatty's well taken care of. You just focus on your battle with Lord Groudon for now."
Swampert - "Right. Thanks girls."
Swampert slowly watched as Delcatty was stretchered away. As he got in the water to swim back over to Michael, he remembered what he had heard Delcatty absent-mindedly whisper to him.
Delcatty - "Don't worry about me... Just focus on helping Michael catch Lord Groudon..."
Swampert - "Don't worry Delcatty. I'll be sure to make you proud."
Swampert poked his head above water, finding Michael floating above the water, along with seeing an unknown woman next to him.
Swampert - "L-Lady Kyogre?!"
Kyogre - "Hello Swampert. I hope you don't me being out here to support my brother. Along with the fact that I want to apologize for what happened with Delcatty."
Swampert - "No, no. It's quite alright. She just needs a good bit of rest and she'll be back to normal in no time."
Michael - "Swampert's right Lady Kyogre. Just have faith in Delcatty. She's stronger than she looks."
Kyogre - "If you both say so then."
Kyogre then floated over next to her sister Rayquaza. She noticed the smile on her sister's lips.
Kyogre - "You're eager to battle Delcatty, aren't you?"
Rayquaza - "Yes I am. Especially that Mega Soul Evolution you helped her achieve."
Kyogre - "But only time itself will tell if they master it by the time they have to prove themselves against you."
Rayquaza - "Agreed."
Michael lightly threw the Red Orb at Groudon, which caused him to enter his Primal form.
Primal Groudon - "Now then you two. Give me everything you've got!"
Michael/Swampert - "Yes sir!"
Michael then once again activated his Battle Disk, which caused an aura to surround Primal Groudon.

Primal Groudon's Desolate Land ability then activated, which caused the sun to shine very harshly.

Michael - "I'm severely limited in moves here. Because of Lord Primal Groudon's Desolate Land ability, Waterfall's completely useless here. But it's a very good thing Swampert's part Ground-Type too. Lady Arceus, hear my plea! Let my bond with Swampert bring forth the birth of a new power! Go, Mega Evolution! Appear, Mega Swampert! Physical Booster, Fighting Booster, and Ice Booster! Mega Earth Ice Press!"

Both attacks led to another stalemate, but then Mega Swampert did a feint and got a hit on Primal Groudon.
Primal Groudon - "Not bad. But it'll take more than that to bring me down."
Mega Swampert - "Same here."

Both Pokémon went to clash a third time, but this time Primal Groudon pulled the feint and got payback on Mega Swampert for last turn.
Primal Groudon - "There. Now we're even."
Mega Swampert - "So we are."

Michael - "Well Lord Groudon. I say it's time we end this battle on a high note.
Primal Groudon - "I couldn't agree more. Take this then! Full Power Primal Lava Earth Blades!"
Michael - "Physical Sword, Earth Sword, Ice Sword, and Fighting Sword! End this now Swampert! Full Power Mega Earth Ice Press!"
Michael's Hand: 6 – 4 = 2

Earthquake's (Mega Swampert) Current Power: 100 + 50 = 150 x 2 = 300 x 2 = 600

Body Press' Current Power: 80 x 2 = 160 x 2 = 320
Earth Ice Press' Current Power: 600 + 180 = 780 + 320 = 1,100 x 2 = 2,200
Both Pokémon rushed at each other for the final time. As their attacks collided, a power struggle ensued. After a few tense moments, Mega Swampert finally broke and struck Primal Groudon, sending him reeling back.
Mega Swampert - "Now Michael!"
Michael - "Go Ultra Ball!"
Primal Groudon - "Young Michael, Swampert. Thank you..."
Michael then threw the Ultra Ball, which hit Primal Groudon in the head and sucked him inside before falling onto the slab of land.
