He doesn't know it but he saved her.
Well, physically, yes, he does know because he was there to kick that man's butt who was trying to take her and a bunch of other girls away to whatever scheme he had in plan but he doesn't know that he saved her.
In a way, she considers him her Prince Charming because he whisked her away to a land of freedom and magic and friendships. Fairy Tail was the best thing to happen to her and she was instantly in love the moment she laid eyes on it in Sorcerer's Magazine and to think she would fatefully run into their almighty Salamander… She was truly living in a fairy tale.
He saved her from heartache.
He saved her from loneliness.
He saved her from a pitiful life with her greedy father.
He saved her.
And for that, she was forever grateful for him and the friendship he provides along with all her other friends in the guild.
She wouldn't have wanted it any differently.
Because with her friends, she could conquer all.
