Chapter 53.
The new normal.
One week after the failed rescue operation.
Nighttime.
It's a night like any other, the tranquility is interrupted by a green armored truck being chased by several patrols and heroes, including Rock Lock and Gunhead in a car.
Rock Lock accelerates to approach the truck, as it approaches it identifies the driver, Mr. Compress. – "It's Atsuhiro Sako! I knew the league was involved in this!"- He said.
Gunhead leans out of the car through the window and points his gun at the truck.
Mr. Comrpess quickly crashes Rock Lock's car, destabilizing it and making it brake, he also does the same with several patrol cars that follow him, taking them off the road.
- "Bastards!"- Gunhead said as he shoots at the truck, unfortunately the bullets don't do nothing other than scratch it. – "It' armored."-
Dabi comes out of the truck window and shoots a blue flare at the cars, this forces everyone to brake, even so one of the cars managed to avoid the flare and position itself in front of the truck.
From said car comes a blonde hero who creates an energy whip and attacks the truck. – "I will not let you escape!"- She said.
However, Mr. Compress just crashes the car, sending the hero flying and hitting the ground hard.
A second car appears behind the truck, then Alpha comes out from the back of the truck and shoots a thorn against the car's wheel, causing it to crash.
- "How did the heroes know about this?"- Dabi asked.
- "The information probably leaked... maybe the new guy."- Mr. Compress said.
- "I doubt it... he wasn't aware of any of this, Tomura never told him, he still doesn't completely trust him."- Alpha said.
The truck continues on its way, but a group of heroes stand in its way, among them being the new number one hero, Endeavor. – "The pursuit team was defeated..."- Endeavor said. – "All right, I'll take care of this."-
- "Endeavor!"- Mr. Compress said.
- "So we've attracted the number one..."- Dabi said as he prepares an attack.
- "Jet Burn!"- Endeavor attacks with a burst of fire, which Dabi also does, both attacks collide and cancel each other out.
- "Get down, Alpha."- Dabi said preparing an attack, Alpha does as indicated.
Dabi attacks with a gigantic blast of fire, however Endeavor prepares to counterattack. – "Prominence Burn!"- Using his strongest attack, Endeavor not only overwhelms Dabi's, but also causes the truck to fall off the road.
Endeavor goes down to where the truck fell, he is surprised to see Hawks checking the truck. – "If you were here why didn't you help?"- He asked.
- "I just arrived."- Hawks said.
Endeavor doesn't say anything and goes to the back of the truck. When he opens it he is surprised to see that it is empty. – "There's no one... just a life support machine."- Endeavor said. – "Where did the league members go?"-
- "They were probably clones of the members, probably thanks to Twice's quirk."- Hawks said. – "Damn Shigaraki... What were you transporting?"-
Meanwhile, somewhat far from the area, a person is walking through the forests, moving away from the area.
- "I was getting tired of waiting for you, Nine."- A person said, next to him there are two others, the shadows hide their appearances.
- "It was worth it..."- The guy, now identified as Nine, said and then looks towards the city. – "The experiment was a success."- The guy's eyes light up gold.

Izumi is in the hospital, she has not yet been discharged after the rescue mission, she is currently undergoing a check-up with a doctor. – "Alright Midoriya-san, I'm done with the check-up and I have good news."- The doctor said. – "You are now completely recovered, so I have nothing else to do but discharge you."-
- "Thank you so much!"- Izumi said.
A few minutes later Izumi finally leaves the hospital, in that someone calls her.
- "Hey Midoriya, over here!"- Krishima, who was next to Iida, is calling her.
Izumi approaches her two friends. – "Kirishima-kun, Iida-kun! They also discharged you!"-
- "Yes, finally!"- Kirishima said.
- "It feels good to finally be out of the hospital."- Iida said.
Due to what happened during the mission, Kirishima now has light burn scars on his chest while Iida has a big scar on his right shoulder.
- "I'm sorry... you guys almost died to go with me..."- Izumi said.
Iida puts his hand on Izumi's shoulder. – "You don't have to apologize, we went by our own decision, and besides, we're still here."- Iida said.
- "Yeah!"- Kirishima said. – "You don't have to be sad or feel guilty about anything!"-
- "Thanks…"- Izumi said smiling slightly.
- "How nice all this is... I love how passionate the young people are!"- Midnight said coming next to them.
- "Midnight-sensei!"- The trio said.
- "They told us that our students finally recovered so Nezu asked me to come for you."- Midnight said.

Meanwhile, the rest of Class A, minus those still in the hospital and Yamikumo, are talking among themselves.
- "What?!"- Mineta screams when he sees what Kaminari showed him on his phone. – "How is that possible?!"-
Kaminari showed him a photo of him and Camie on a date.
- "It's because I'm so cool!"- Kaminari said. – "And the best thing is that she told me that she enjoyed it and that she is waiting for the next one."-

- "Are you okay?"- Kinoko asks Todoroki.
- "Yeah, it just still feels weird that Midoriya and Iida aren't here."- Todoroki said.

- "They are still recovering... of the six of us who went, they were the ones in the worst condition."- Kaminari said while joining the conversation.
At that moment, as if it were fate, Izumi, Kirishima, and Iida enter the dorms.
Silence takes over the place until everyone shouts in surprise. – "You're back!"-
Without giving them time to speak, everyone approaches the three, with Mina lunging at Izumi and hugging her. – "Midori! I'm glad you're back and safe!"- Mina said.
- "Y-Yes... I know you want to talk... but first I have to do something."- Izumi said approaching Kinoko.
Once in front of the girl, Izumi bows. – "Komori-san... I'm sorry!"- Izumi said. – "I promised you to save Atanagi-kun and I didn't keep it!"-
Kinoko is surprised but then puts her hand on Izumi's shoulder. – "You do not need to apologize."- Kinoko said. – "You did what you could."-
- "Thanks…"- Izumi said.
- "Now that we're done with this... I think I can talk."- Aizawa said entering the dorms.
- "Aizawa-sensei…"-
- "I know it's a delicate moment... but there is something important I have to talk about."- Aizawa said. – "You can come in."-
Saying this, Shinso enters the dorms.
- "From now on, Shinso will join you in class 1-A."- Aizawa said. – "And before you think about it, no, this doesn't mean we're replacing Atanagi."-
- "Well... as you already know, my name is Hitoshi Shinso and from today I will be your classmate."- Shinso said.
- "Shinso's transfer was already confirmed even before everything with Atanagi happened."- Aizawa said. – "However, all that happened and we couldn't transfer Shinso until now."-

- "Yes, apparently the plan failed and Nine escaped from the heroes."- Dr. Garaki said.
- "And obviously he met with his followers."- Shigaraki said.
- "As I understand it, yes."- Garaki said. – "What do you plan to do?"-
- "That guy could be a problem for our plans... I want him dead."- Shigaraki said. – "Do you know where he is going?"-
- "I managed to intercept his plans... apparently his plan is to go to an island called Nabu, he is in search of a child with a specific quirk."- Garaki said showing the image of a boy with brown eyes, curly, light brown hair, and a small spot of freckles in the middle of his face. – "Katsuma Shimano. His quirk, Cell Activation, allows him to stimulate and speed up the activity of cells in the body of anyone he touches. This allows him to heal a person's wounds, as well as improve their physical performance."-
- "He must be trying to cure his own illness."- Shigaraki said.
- "Correct."- Garaki said.
- "Very good, I have a destination, I will use the amphibian Nomu."- Shigaraki said.
- "Tomura-kun... I recommend that you don't go, Nine is dangerous and we can't risk losing you."- Garaki said. – "Why don't you ask Hiro and his gold guard for help?"-
- "No, I don't want to owe Hiro anything anymore..."- Shigaraki said. – "He's already very angry with me thanks to the loss of the bronze guard… I don't want our agreement to be ruined."-

- "I already told you, there is something I have to do and I can only achieve it by being part of the league."- Yamikumo said and then looks at Alpha. – "What's going on? Are you angry because you can't kill me anymore?"-
Alpha doesn't respond and just stares at him.
- "I don't care why you're here, as long as you don't betray us I'm glad you're here."- Toga said.
- "Welcome! / I don't trust you!"- Twice said.
- "A very warm welcome..." – Yamikumo sarcastically said.
- "My apologies, I'm still surprised that a UA student joined us."- Mr. Compress said. – "But I can see that Toga and Dabi have known you from before, so I guess I can give you a vote of confidence."-
- "Yes... The three of us have crossed paths in the past."- Dabi said.
- "We have killed people together."- Toga said.
- "Oh... I didn't know that."- Mr. Compress said. – "What else is there about you that we don't know?"-
- "Things that not even anyone at UA knows."- Yamikumo said.
- "Interesting…"-
The conversation could not go any further since at that moment Tomura arrives. – "Headhunter... I have to talk to you..."- Tomura looks at the rest of the league members. – "In private."-
Unable to respond to their leader, the other members of the league leave Yamikumo alone with Tomura.
– "So... you finally decided to kill me or something?"- Yamikumo asked.
- "I don't need desire to kill you... but unfortunately I'm not here for that."- Tomura said as he hands a folder to Yamikumo.
Yamikumo takes the folder and takes a look at its contents, the first thing he sees is the image of a man with fair skin, thin, rectangular gray eyes, white pupils, and white hair just past his shoulders, worn and swept away from his face.
- "Who is this? Someone you dislike?"- Yamikumo asked.
- "Not exactly... his name is Nine, we could say he used to be an ally of ours."- Tomura said. – "But now he is free and on his own... at the moment he doesn't prove to be a threat to us... but he could become one."-
- "And the point of telling me this is..."- Yamikumo said.
- "Do you want to prove your loyalty? Your mission is to kill him."- Tomura said. - "I hope you're not afraid to cross the line."-
- "Don't worry, it won't be my first kill."- Yamikumo said.
- "Is that so... better for me."- Tomura said. – "Now come with me, the Doctor will explain more about your target."-
- "Hold up…"- Yamikumo said while flipping through the rest of the papers in the folder. – "And who are those?"-
Yamikumo puts three more images on the table.
The first one is a tall, lanky man with pale orange eyes that are baggy and slant forward and straight gray hair.
The second one is an animalistic-looking man with traits of different animals. While he retains a humanoid figure, he has blue fur, a wolf-like head, hands, and feet resembling an eagle's talons, and a long reptilian tail.
The third one is a young woman with fair skin, blue eyes that slope inwards, and noticeably full, glossy lips. She also possesses straight, shiny red hair with chin-length bangs that partially obscure her right eye.
- "Judging by the fact that they were in the same folder as Nine... could they be allies of him?"- Yamikumo asked.
Tomura sits back down. – "They are his followers."- He said. – "Mummy, Chimera and Slice."-
- "And you plan for me to face all of them alone?" – Yamikumo asked.
- "What's wrong? Are you afraid?"- Tomura asked.
- "Not at all... But don't be confused, I'm strong... but I'm not stupid enough to face four enemies alone."- Yamikumo said. – "Also... as a leader... the decision to only send one soldier to war alone... is stupid if you let me say."-
This angers Tomura a little, but Yamikumo has him cornered. – "Who do you want to take with you?"- He asked.
- "I'm taking Dabi, Toga... and Twice."- Yamikumo said.
- "You are asking too much..."- Tomura said angrily.
- "Okay, okay... then give me Alpha and everyone will be happy."- Yamikumo said.
Tomura remains silent for a few seconds and then gets up to head to where the other league members left. – "Dabi, Toga, Twice!"- Tomura calls them. – "Come here! I have a mission for you."-
Seeing this, Yamikumo smiles, Tomura fell into his game.

- "So we have to kill this guy and his followers..."- Dabi said after receiving instructions.
At this moment Yamikumo, Dabi, Toga and Twice are receiving the details of the mission from Tomura and Dr. Garaki.
- "Yes, Nine is not a threat right now, but it is better to uproot a threat than let it grow."- Garaki said.
- "What can you tell us about him and his followers?"- Yamikumo asked.
- "Nine's original Quirk is Weather Manipulation."- Garaki said. – "It allows him to control the weather, able to instantly cause powerful thunderstorms and tornadoes."-
- "Original quirk?"- Dabi asked.
- "Yes… Nine was a subject on whom I carried out some experiments... I was able to implant him a second quirk."- Garaki explained.
- "And what is that quirk?"- Yamikumo asked.
- "The quirk that gives the user the ability to take and give quirks to others..."- Garaki said. – "All for one."-
- "What?! The same quirk as the previous boss?!"- Dabi said.
- "That's unexpected.../I was expecting it!"- Twice said.
- "It is a weaker version than the original."- Garaki said, - "It only allows him to have a total of eight quirks in addition to All for One."-
- "Hence his name... Nine."- Tomura added.
- "Do we know anything about the rest of his quirks?"- Yamikumo asked.
- "Not except that he can still steal one more quirk."- Dr. Garaki said. – "And this is where the interesting thing is, his original quirk destroys the tissue of his own body every time he uses it, that is why in the past he stole the quirk of a guy with the last name Shimano."-
- "But the idiot screwed up and the Quirk he stole wasn't compatible with his blood type." – Tomura said.
- "Cell Activation. This Quirk allows the user to activate the cells in his own body or another person's body, boosting regeneration and repairing any damage."- Garaki explained. – "However, the one he stole was only compatible with people of type A blood, Nine is type B."-
- "Now he plans to steal the Quirk from Shimano's son."- Tomura said.
- "Katsuma Shimano, his quirk is the same as his father's, but it works with any type of blood."- Garaki said while showing a picture of Kastuma Shimano.
Katsuma is a young boy with brown eyes, curly, light brown hair, and a small patch of freckles in the middle of his face. He wears a pair of blue overalls with dark blue straps over a white T-shirt, accompanied by light blue sandals. He also carries a small, yellow messenger bag that has a pin of the Pro Hero Edgeshot's face fastened onto the strap.
- "He's cute... but it would look cuter with blood."- Toga said.
- "This boy lives with his sister on Nabu Island."- Garaki said. – "Nine is heading towards that island."-
- "So what you have to do is go to that island before them and when they arrive take them by surprise and kill them."- Tomura said.
- "I feel like there's a catch in this..."- Dabi said.
- "Yes... you must remain unnoticed while Nine decides to show his face."- Tomura said. – "Of the four of you, Toga is the one who could most easily go unnoticed, you three will need a little aesthetic work."-
- "I suppose we would be dressed as civilians and therefore our scars would attract attention..."- Yamikumo said.
- "Correct."- Tomura said. – "Garaki will help you with that... now hurry up and get ready... I don't want to waste any more time."-
- "One more question..."- Yamikumo said. – "How are we going to get there?"-

A few days later.
It is a calm day on Nabu Island, on an uncrowded beach near the ocean, something comes out of the water, a Nomu, said Nomu has gills to breathe underwater, the Nomu looks around, there is no one, at that moment the Nomu opens its mouth in inhuman proportions.
At that Yamikumo comes out of the Nomu's mouth. – "That was...an interesting experience."- He said to himself, interestingly, Yamikumo looks different than normal.
His facial scars are gone, thanks to the fact that they were covered with makeup and a substance that Garaki gave him so that the makeup does not fall off if water touches it, in addition to that, he has a green contact lens in his right eye so that both his eyes have the same color.
His clothes are also different, he wears a white tank top, blue jeans, and red tennis shoes.
- "That was disgusting..."- Toga said also coming out of said Nomu's mouth.
Like Yamikumo Toga looks different, although her appearance does not differ much from normal, now her hair is combed and not tied in buns, now reaching her shoulders.
Toga wears a white t-shirt, jean shorts and a pair of pink sandals.
- "Why do strange things happen every time I get involved with you?"- Dabi said also coming out of said Nomu's mouth.
Of all of them, Dabi is the one who had the most radical change.
He no longer has any of his burn scars, Garaki covered his scars with patches of synthetic skin, now it seems that he doesn't have any, plus his hair is no longer black and is now white, his natural hair color.
Dabi is wearing a black shirt, jeans, and white shoes.
- "What a great trip. / This trip was boring."- Twice said.
Twice, or also Jin Bubaigawara as a civilian, wears a blue shirt, black pants and brown shoes, in addition to wearing a headband that covers the scar on his forehead.
Finally, the Nomu spits out four briefcases, one green, for Yamikumo, one pink, for Toga, one blue, for Dabi and one black, for Twice.
The four take their respective briefcases and begin to advance, the Nomu follows them but Yamikumo stops him. – "Get back in the water, wait for us to call you."-
The Nomu does not react and simply does what is indicated.
- "Wouldn't it be useful to have him with us?"- Toga asked.
- "It would attract a lot of attention."- Yamikumo said.
- "Let's get this over with quickly... these patches are annoying as hell."- Dabi said feeling uncomfortable by the patches of skin on him.
- "This is a bad idea..."- Twice gets the attention of the three by crouching down and holding his head as if it were hurting. – "I shouldn't be here... This is not the opportunity... But I can't do... I... I need my mask... I'm going to split!"-
- "What's up with him?"- Yamikumo asked.
- "Right… You don't know."- Dabi said. – "He wasn't always like that... at first he used his clones to do everything... but the day came when he created so many that no one knew who the original was."-
- "They killed each other and only him was left... without knowing if he was the original or just another clone..."- Toga said.
- "If the original dies... what happens to the clones?"- Yamikumo asked.
- "In theory they should disappear."- Dabi said. – "Furthermore, the clones are very weak, one strong hit and they disappear, that is why he almost never gets into close fights and prefers to use clones of others to fight." –
- "I see…"- Yamikumo said approaching Twice while putting a hand on his shoulder. – "Hey... come here."- Twice starts to get up but Yamikumo punches him in the stomach.
- "Hey!"- Toga said but Dabi stopped her.
- "Why?/I'll kill you!"- Twice said.
- "Interesting… You didn't disappear."- Yamikumo said.
These words caught the attention of Twice who stared at him. – "Wha…"-
- "I have a question for you..."- Yamikumo said. – "If you were the only one left alive among all your clones... then why are you still here if you think the original died?"-
- "Well…"- Twice tried to respond but couldn't find the answer.
- "You don't have to answer me now... just think about what I told you."- Yamikumo said.
After this Yamikumo turns around and takes his briefcase. – "Alright, time to go."- He said and then began walking in the direction of the main city of the island.
Dabi and Toga look at each other, they both realize what Yamikumo did, this made Toga smile and Dabi raise an eyebrow, without further ado they both take their respective briefcases and follow Yamikumo.
For his part, a thoughtful Twice stands up and takes his briefcase, then touches his stomach. – "It hurt…"- He said to himself. – "It hurt."- Without further ado he follows the others.

We start with the new arc but first we have the aftermath of the last arc.
As you can guess, the enemies of this arc will be Nine and his companions.
But first let's talk about other things, first... Shinso is officially part of the heroes course, congratulations friend, a shame that from now on the protagonists are going to be the league of villains.
This will be the last time we will see the UA, at least with an important role, there will be mentions from time to time but no character will have great importance until further notice.
And with this we come to the last of the chapter, the protagonist's new companion group... Dabi and Toga are back and this time Twice joins them.
And yes, you can expect these three to have a bigger role from now on (especially Dabi and Toga).
