Jackson finds out that April is trying to help prevent a children's hospital from closing. Takes place after Japril moves to Boston, but before they got back together.

Jackson sat in his office along with Wesley Marston one of the foundation's budget managers.

"Everything looked good," Wesley said.

"Good, then we're done here," Jackson said.

Wesley looked at his watch. "Okay, then I'll go see Dr. Kepner now."

"Dr. Kepner?"

"Yes."

"Why?" Jackson asked.

"She asked I could come see her, see wanted to discuss something with me," Wesley said.

Wesley got up and left Jackson's office. Jackson sat back in his chair and wondered why April wanted to meet with Wesley.

April was sitting in her office behind her laptop and she was busy. There was a knock on the door.

"Come in," she said.

The door opened and Jackson walked into the office.

"Jackson," April said.

"I thought you could use some coffee, Jackson said, he held up the cup of coffee he brought for April.

"Then you read my mind," April said and a smile appeared on her face.

"May I?' Jackson asked, he gestured to the empty chair.

"Sure."

Jackson walked over to April's desk and sat down, he handed her the coffee.

"Is this...," April started

"A mocha coffee with extra chocolate," Jackson said, before she could even ask, he knew all to well how she wanted her coffee.

"You know too well," April said. She took a sip of her coffee. She put her coffee down and looked at Jackson, wondering what the reason was why he just was in her office. "Did you want to discuss something?"

"Why do you ask?" Jackson asked.

"You're here in my office now," April stated. "Is it about work or Harriet?"

"No, no, no, I just thought...," Jackson began

"You just thought what?" April asked.

"Nothing in particular," Jackson said, he strached the back of his head. "I was just wondering why you wanted to meet with Wesley Marston?"

"He's helping me with something," April said.

"With what?" Jackson asked.

"Jackson you're as curious as your mother, April pointed out, she couldn't help to laugh a little bit when she saw Jackson's face when she told him that.

"No, I'm not," Jackson said.

"Wesley's helping me with budget stuff," April told him.

"April, you can tell me what's going on," Jackson said, he saw that someting was on her mind.

"I'm helping out at a children's hospital," April said. "And they're in danger of closing. I've asked Wesley for help to see what I can do."

"Maybe I can help," Jackson said.

"How can you help?" April asked.

"I can make sure those kids get into our hospitals and get the best care," Jackson said.

"Jackson, that's not good for them, it will be too much for them both physically and emotionally," April said.

"I have an other solution, what if we turn it into a Catherine Fox hospital," Jackson suggested.

"You want to do what?" April asked.

"Yes, the foundation can buy the hospital and that way you prevent it from closing, Jackson said.

"Absolutely not, April said determainted.

"April why not? Jackson asked, he was kinda shocked by how she reacted.

"They're good people working there, Jackson. I don't want them to be taken advantage of, April said.

"What do you mean by that?" Jackson asked.

April stood up. "I see the Gladis using this situation to make the foundation look good in the media:" 'Catherine Fox Foundation saves children's hospital from closure. Doctors and parents of patients are eternally grateful to Foundation.'

"I think that's too long a headline," Jackson joked.

"Jackson."

"Sorry," he said. "So how did you get there, the childeren's hospital?"

"An old friend of mine, he's a doctor there," April said.

"He? Who he?" Jackson asked.

"Gordon Daniels we went to Medical School together," April told Jackson. "I ran into it to him not that long ago and we got talking."

"Okay."

"Jackson you know how scary it can be to be in a hospital, especially when you're a kid."

"I can understand," Jackson said.

"That hospital really tries to make it as least scary as possible for the kids, they make back there feel safe," April said. "And what I've seen there, it's a special thing that all do there for those kids."

Jackson could see from April's face's expression how important this was to her and that it really touched her. "What did Wesley say?"

"He says there's not much hope," April sadly told Jackson.

"But knowing you, you don't leave it at that," Jackson said.

"I'm already looking to organize something so we can raise money for the hospital," April siad.

"And what did you come up with?" Jackson asked.

"I was thinking of a fundraiser," April said.

"I'm behind you and so is the Foundation, whatever you need for your fundraiser I'll help you," Jackson told her and reached out his hand to her.

April smiled and took his hand. "Thank you."

The following weeks, April was busy planning together with her old friend from Medical School. Jackson would occasionally drop by her office to see how things were going, though it was also to see exactly who this friend of hers was.

One day while April had an appointment Gordon Daniels, Jackson walked into the office.

"How's it going here?" He asked.

"Not so good," April replied.

"What's the matter?" Jackson asked.

"Our request has been denied," April said.

"We just spent an hour trying to persuade them, but they keep refusing," Gordon said.

"I'm sorry, for you both," Jackson said.

"I'll break the bad news to my boss now. Better he hears it from me than someone else," Gordon said. "I'll call you later, okay?"

"Okay."

Gordon got up and left the office. Jackson saw that April was very disappointed, he sat on the chair.

"April, you did your best," Jackson reassured her.

"It wasn't enough," April said.

"I'm sorry," Jackson said.

"I don't know what to do, Jackson," April said.

"I've an idea," Jackson said. "But before you say anything, just listen to me."

"Tell me."

"Let the Foundation buy the hospital."

"No, Jackson."

"I know how important this is to you," Jackson said.

"I don't want you to do for me," April said.

"I visited the hospital," Jackson said and April looked at him surprised. "I saw what they do there and how important such a hospital is for those children, Let me help you."

April looked at Jackson and saw that he was sincere. "Okay."

"Okay?"

"Okay," April nodded. "But on two conditions."

"What are they? Jackson asked.

"The Foundation cannot use this to it's advantage, no cunning media stunts," April said.

"Deal," Jackson told her.

And the hospital cannot be called Catherine Fox Children's Hospital," April said. "Deal?"

"You've my word," Jackson said.

And with that, everything was set in motion, Jackson went into negotiations with the hospital's boss. And a few weeks later it was ready and what the children's hospital where April helped was one of the Foundation's hospitals. The day after the deal was done, Jackson called April into his office.

"Everything worked out?"

"Yes, the childeren's hospital will continue to exist," Jackson told her.

"Thank you," April said.

"There is one small thing that will change at the hospital and the accepted my request," Jackson said.

"What's that?"

"The name."

"The name? And you call that small?" April got a bit angry at hearing that. "And you promised it won't be called Cathterine Fox Children's Hospital."

"It won't," Jackson said.

"Then what what is it going to be?" April asked. "Please don't tell you named the hosptial after me?"

"No, I know you wouldn't want such a thing," Jackson told her.

"I also told you that I didn't want the name to be changed," April said.

"You specifically said not to change to name to the Catherine Fox Childeren's Hospital and I didn't,"

"What is the new name?"

Jackson opened his laptop and pulled out a 3D model of the front of the hospital, he pressed the enter button and the new name of the hospital appeared. April became speechless when she saw name, she sat down and stared at the screen.

"Samuel Norbert Children's Hospital."

"Even though he is not here, his name will stand for something good. This is his legacy," Jackson said.

"Thank you," April said, she whipped away the tears she had in her eyes.

April stood up, she took a step toward Jackson and hugged him. Jackson put his arms around her. For a few seconds Jackson and April let go of each other, they looked at each other with both a small smile on their faces. April left Jackson's office and went back to hers.
