Jane Rizzoli was nervous at the Rizzoli Sunday family dinner at Maura's house. She had something important to tell her mother Angela, her brothers Frankie and Tommy, and her nephew TJ. She took a deep breath and began:

« Ma, guys, I need to tell you something. Maura and I have been together for a few weeks. We love each other passionately »

Jane expected reactions of surprise, shock, or anger, but instead she saw smiles on her family's faces. Angela stood up and hugged her, then did the same to Maura.

« Oh, Janie, I'm so happy for you! I knew you were in love with her, I saw it in your eyes. And you too, Maura, I could see that you loved Jane and then you are like a daughter to me. I wish you all the happiness in the world ! »

Frankie and Tommy got up in turn and came to congratulate their sister and sister-in-law. They told them that they were proud of them and that they loved them.

Frankie says:

« You know, Jane, we kinda suspected you were with Maura. You are inseparable and you look at each other with so much love. As for you Maura, I am delighted to finally have you as a sister-in-law. I'm glad you're together and happy. »

Tommy says:

« Yes, Jane, you deserve to be loved like you are by Maura. She's awesome and we love her. You're lucky to have him, just as Maura is lucky to have you, you're the perfect couple. »

TJ, who had watched the scene with curiosity, approached Maura and said:

« Aunt Maura, are you really going to be my aunt now? »

Maura smiled and hugged him and said,

« Yes, TJ, I'm really going to be your aunt now. And I am very happy to be part of this family. »

TJ gave his Aunt Maura a big hug and said:

« I'm so happy that you really are my aunt and I can't wait for you to marry Aunt Jane. »

Angela said smiling:

« You're not the only one who wants your aunts to get married quickly TJ »

Jane looked around with emotion. She couldn't have asked for a better reaction from her family. She felt loved and accepted. She turned to Maura and kissed her tenderly then said

« I love you, Maura. »

And Maura answered

« I love you too, Jane. »

Angela looked at them lovingly and said:

« And now we have to celebrate! And above all, don't forget, girls! I want grandchildren even though I know it's more complicated for a couple of women! »
