DarkFoxKit: We have another chapter put up. Sorry about the late chapter, there were a lot of things going on that made it easy for me to forget about updating. And I guess ZAFT forgot about it too.
ZAFT: I did, but that happens. ^^' At least we are remembering close to Mondays
Takuya: The weather seems nicer this time instead of being scorching hot. :)
DarkFoxKit: It's pretty hot to me.
Andy: You wanna know what else is hot? This book that just came into the mail today~ *Holds up Danny Phantom A Glitch In Time*
DarkFoxKit: O.O Where did you get that book!?
Andy: A friend of ours pre-ordered it for me as a gift~
DarkFoxKit: I want it! Gimme! *Runs at Andy*
ZAFT: Okay… We'd better get to the chapter before Kit here hurts poor Andy trying to get that book… ^^'
Andy: Get off of me, you crazy fox!

Digital Phantom!
Chapter 44: Ghost Fugitive
It was early the next morning in Amity Park. Danny, Takuya, and Patamon all had trouble sleeping. Thankfully Maddie and Jack already had the other 'kids' and 'Mr. Lancer' leave for the night, but their ghost senses kept kicking in every 3 seconds. Patamon had been a little more standoffish than usual after last night's incident. He slept in Andy's empty bed instead of with Danny like he usually did.
But what woke them up was something crashing into the room.
"Oof!"
"Ow!"
Danny jolted upright in his bed, confused and worried. "W-what was that?!"
Patamon flew up in the air, ready to fight if a ghost came into the room.
"It's us!" Andy's voice spoke up. "We had a bit of a rough landing!"
Danny looked over, seeing Andy and Lopmon in a pile on the floor. "A-Andy? Lopmon? W-where's Jazz?"
Danny helped Andy up to his feet, while Lopmon rolled off of Andy's back.
"A lot of things happened in the Digital World. Before you freak out though, Jazz is fine," Andy explained. "What time is it here?"
"It's about… 4 in the morning…" Danny yawned. "I haven't slept well since this whole ghost invasion began… Not with, well…" Danny hesitated as his ghost sense seeped out of his mouth. "That… keeps going off…"
"Oh, wow, you need to learn to turn it off," Andy remarked. "But… wait, you said it's 4 in the morning? That's earlier than I thought it'd be."
"We need to talk to Takuya about something important," Lopmon said. "Is he asleep right now?"
Danny hesitated. "Um… That's… actually what I wanted to talk to you about…" He began slowly. "We have a bit of an… issue… right now…"
"What's the issue?" Andy frowned.
"He's stuck in his Digimon form," Patamon answered grumpily.
"He's stuck?" Lopmon repeated. "What do you mean he's stuck?"
"Exactly how it sounds." Patamon rolled his eyes. "He turned into Agunimon, but hasn't been able to turn back into Takuya."
"... How the heck did that happen?" Andy questioned.
"It's apparently a defense the Spirit of Agunimon put into place because there are so many ghosts around." Danny groaned. "It means Takuya is technically Agunimon now until this whole invasion subsides."
"You're kidding, right?" Andy deadpanned.
"Seems like a… flawed system…" Lopmon frowned.
"Where is he now?" Andy questioned.
Danny grumbled and thumped his bed. "I know you're still awake under there."
A groan came from under Danny's bed. "I hate my ghost sense…"
Sure enough, a familiar Legendary Warrior crawled out from under Danny's bed. "Hey, Andy, Lopmon…" Agunimon greeted, his cheeks slightly red from the embarrassment of being trapped in his Digimon form.
"Wow… you really are stuck…" Andy noted with a sweatdrop.
"What were you doing under Danny's bed?" Lopmon questioned.
"Trying to sleep… I can't exactly use my own room like this, now can I?" Agunimon grumbled. "Uncle Jack and Aunt Maddie might see me."
"So even after all this time, 'Takuya' is still missing, awesome," Andy grumbled sarcastically.
"Nevermind that now, what happened in the Digital World?" Agunimon asked. "Where's Jazz? And were you able to check on Tommy?"
"Yeah… you guys might want to sit down, it's a bit of a long story," Andy sighed. "Remember it when we need to tell Tucker, Sam, and maybe Dash later."
Everyone got comfy as Andy and Lopmon told them what happened in the Digital World. About Jazz finding her partner Floramon, how they walked for about 4 days, the Burgermon they met, and Tommy who was there. Agunimon was surprised to hear Tommy was so far away from Seraphimon's castle, but he didn't interrupt. Finally, Andy and Lopmon told them about their meeting with Petaldramon, how he seemed to have mistaken Lopmon for Cherubimon, and the information they got out of him regarding the rogue Legendary Warriors, and how Agunimon, along with the other human Legendary Warriors now have a target on their backs.
"Great…" Agunimon groaned out. "Not only do we have to deal with a ghost invasion, but now the rogue Legendary Warriors are going to be hunting down me and the others who have Spirits… This is just getting better and better, isn't it?"
"No need to be sarcastic." Danny muttered with a sweatdrop running down the side of his head. "Although I can't say that I blame you…"
"It seems there are problems on all sides right now," Patamon sighed.
"Jazz decided to stay with Tommy to keep an eye on him, and to see if she can find Valerie and Salamon," Lopmon added.
"I can't help but worry about Valerie. It's not like her to miss a day in the real world, knowing how worried her dad would be, especially with this ghost invasion going on," Andy stated.
Agunimon frowned a bit. "I can see why. She hasn't been in school since a day or two ago. That would make anyone worried."
"Yeah, and I might look for her later if she still doesn't turn up after we… deal with this crisis," Andy sighed. "So we need to stop this ghost invasion, turn Agunimon back to normal, make sure our parents don't get themselves hurt out there, try to figure out what Walker's up to, then check in on the Digital World to see what's going on there without getting caught by the rogue Legendary Warriors, or the bad players. … Yeah, I'm sure we can deal with all of that…"
"Right now the ghost invasion and Walker's plan are more important." Danny remarked. "And if we stop those plans, then Agunimon returns to normal. Those three are the most important things to accomplish right now. We can make sure Mom and Dad don't get hurt while we do that."
"Besides, we need to make sure our home base is secured and stable before we can take care of things going on in the Digital World," Lopmon added.
"Okay. Let's hope we can do this quickly. The longer we take to deal with Walker and the ghosts, the more time will pass in the Digital World," Andy sighed.
"That does bring up a question though; how are we going to explain Takuya's 'absence'?" Danny asked. "Agunimon can't exactly go to school like this."
"I'll figure something out," Andy replied. "Lopmon and I already got a good night's sleep before we came back here. So we're going to scout around Amity Park and see if we can figure something out."
"Okay… Just… make sure Walker's goons don't get to you." Danny said softly.
"Oh, and Patamon~" Lopmon grinned before he took out a hamburger from Andy's backpack. "We got some good burgers at the Hamburger Village~ I know you wanna try it!"
Patamon looked at Lopmon, he wanted to tell the immature Digimon off, but he started drooling when he smelled the hamburger's delicious scent. "This… this isn't the time for food, Lopmon!"
"I can see you drooling~" Lopmon teased back.
"Shut up!" Patamon snapped, his cheeks flushing red from embarrassment.
Andy rolled his eyes. "Come on, Lopmon, we need to let them sleep. You can tease Patamon about the burgers later."
Lopmon pouted, but backed off from the teasing. "Okay…"
Lopmon was about to eat the burger himself, when Agunimon suddenly took the burger and began stuffing his face with it. "H-hey! That was mine!"
"Sorry! I didn't get to eat much last night, and I'm starving." Agunimon replied. "Although that was good, even better than Nasty Burger's burgers."
"Serves you right, Lopmon." Patamon grinned.
"I've got more!" Lopmon huffed.
Danny sweatdropped, although he wouldn't mind trying one of those burgers himself.
Andy and Lopmon had been walking around Amity Park for hours. Although, after walking in the Digital World for literal days, this wasn't so bad. Lopmon got to enjoy some of the burgers they brought back with them.
"Hey… Lopmon, look," Andy whispered as he and Lopmon got down low.
They saw that werewolf ghost near a building. He appeared to be looking around cautiously, like he was expecting something, or someone, to be chasing him.
"It's that werewolf ghost…" Lopmon whispered back. "But why's that ghost lurking around? And why does he look so… alert?"
"Hmm…" Andy was studying the ghost now that the ghost wasn't moving around too much, or pouncing him and Danny to the ground.
From what Andy could tell, the werewolf ghost was wearing torn ecto green clothes. He had a thick, silver bracelet of some kind on his right wrist. Although Andy didn't fail to notice a small chain under that bracelet. But the most noticeable thing was the silver, mechanical looking collar around the werewolf's neck.
The werewolf was pulling at the collar, looking like he really wanted it off.
"If I had to guess… knowing how Walker worked… this werewolf ghost is one of Walker's prisoners," Andy whispered. "And that collar is probably a shock collar, or something like it to keep him in line."
"Then… should we help?" Lopmon whispered.
"Maybe…" Andy frowned. "I don't know why Walker imprisoned the werewolf ghost, or why he released the wolf man here of all places. But… maybe if we help him, he could tell us what Walker's up to."
"Yeah, that sounds reasonable." Lopmon agreed. "It may work in our favor."
"But let's be careful, the wolf ghost might try to attack us too," Andy warned.
Lopmon nodded.
Both of them slowly approached the werewolf ghost. The werewolf ghost's ears twitched when he heard someone approaching him. He turned around, growling, surprised to see the 'ghost boy' walking up to him, along with a digital rabbit beast.
"Mi trovis vin! Kaj tiu cifereca besto kun vi ne longe protektos vin! (I found you! And that digital beast with you will not protect you for long!)" The werewolf ghost growled out, but the language barrier was not helping.
What… that's not English… Andy paled, realizing this was going to be a problem. Is that… Esperanto?
"Uh… hi," Andy said, trying to sound friendly and non-threatening. "We… uh… want to help… um… friend?"
Lopmon was trying to appear non-threatening as well. "We're not here to hurt you, we just want to help."
That got the werewolf ghost's attention. "Helpi? Cu vi volas helpi? (Help? Want to help?)"
"Help… uh halapi, yes!" Andy replied. Wait, what? I just heard the word, and I still can't say it right?
"He means yes, we want to help," Lopmon covered.
The werewolf ghost looked skeptically at Lopmon, but clearly could understand Lopmon's words. "Ĉu vere? (Is that so?)"
Andy frowned as he tried to figure out how to communicate. He pointed at his neck. "You want that collar off, right?"
As if on cue, the werewolf ghost grabbed at the collar and tugged at it, showing his displeasure at wearing it. "Pli ol vi scias. (More than you know…)"
"Okay. I might know someone who can get that collar off," Andy said. "But we need you to cooperate with us."
"Can you cooperate with us?" Lopmon asked as well. "We might be able to have someone get that collar off."
Before the werewolf could answer, the collar suddenly shocked him. Andy and Lopmon gasped when the wolf started shouting in pain. Looking up, they saw a few ghosts flying in the air. One of them looked different from the ghost guards, and was pushing a button on his wrist.
One of the ghost guards looked on in disapproval. "You're using the collar? Walker said-"
"Walker isn't here! If we want to catch that fugitive, we need to slow him down!" The unique looking ghost snapped back.
The werewolf had to make a break for it. He would look for this boy and his digital bunny later when he lost these guys. He flew away quickly while the ghosts chased after him. Andy and Lopmon yelped when the werewolf flew away.
"Wait!" Andy reached up in the air, but they were long gone. "Damn it! They're already gone!"
"Well, we made some progress, right? I mean, we did tell that werewolf we wanted to help, so maybe things can work out." Lopmon noted, trying to be optimistic, "Although, those ghosts didn't really help the situation…"
"Tch… it's difficult to deal with ghosts when they can just fly away faster than a speeding car…" Andy grumbled. We may need Danny Phantom's help for this… "Let's get back, Lopmon. The sun's starting to come up. People will be waking up soon."
Lopmon nodded. "Yeah, and we do have that little issue of Takuya's to deal with as well."
"If only he was little, then this might be easier," Andy sighed.
Andy and Lopmon made it back to Fenton Works before his parents woke up. Which was a good thing, because Maddie and Jack were already walking downstairs when they saw Andy standing in the living room.
"Oh, you're already awake, Andy?" Maddie asked.
"Uh, yeah… you know, early to bed, early to rise," Andy chuckled sheepishly. "Don't want to make a habit of being late for school and all."
"That's a good habit to build then." Jack praised. "I can't recount how many times I was late to school."
"Well, since you're up already, how about you wake up your brother?" Maddie suggested. "I'm sure Jazz will get up soon, she's usually good about that. And Takuya… maybe I should-"
"I can wake Takuya up too!" Andy quickly volunteered. "Don't worry about it."
Maddie blinked at the sudden offer. "Really? Okay then." She said. "Just make sure he comes to breakfast as soon as he's ready for the day."
"Yeah… I'll be sure to… uh… do that…" Andy sweatdropped before he began going upstairs.
Andy opened the door to his and Danny's room. "Lopmon, wake them up."
Andy tossed Lopmon into the air. Lopmon inflated his ears before he used a small bit of his Blazing Ice at the beds. It wasn't enough to hurt them, just enough to make them feel the cold.
Danny didn't even get awakened. He actually sighed contentedly and snuggled into the icy blankets.
Agunimon, who had decided to try to sleep on Andy's bed this time, however, had a different reaction to the Blazing Ice hitting him. He gave a slight yelp as he sat up, trying to get away from the icy spot that was forming on Andy's pillow. Patamon let out a small yelp as he rolled out of the bed to get away from the icy coldness.
"How the heck did that not wake up Danny?" Andy questioned when Lopmon landed on his head.
"Beats me," Lopmon frowned. "I set the Blazing Ice for 'waking up'."
"What the heck was that?" Patamon groaned. "My fur is all icy now!"
"Geez… That's cold…" Agunimon muttered, looking at the icy pillow. "I certainly felt that, even with my armor…"
"That didn't actually hurt you, did it?" Lopmon asked in concern.
"No… but it was chilly…" Agunimon admitted. "Although… I think I felt the cold more due to my element being fire…"
"I had to wake you up because… hold on…" Andy marched over to his brother's bed, grabbed onto the bedsheet Danny was laying on, and pulled hard.
Danny yelped as he was suddenly pulled out of his bed and onto the floor.
"Ow…" Danny groaned as he sat up, rubbing at his backside. "You didn't need to pull the sheets out from under me, bro…"
"I needed you to wake up, and you looked like you fell into a deeper sleep when Lopmon tried to wake you," Andy explained. "We're kind of on a time crunch."
"How so?" Danny asked as he rubbed his eyes sleepily.
"Mom and Dad are awake, and they expect to see Takuya and Jazz at breakfast soon," Andy explained. "We need to get our story straight now."
Agunimon looked a bit pale at what he had heard. "Crap…"
Danny also looked a bit nervous. "Yikes… Yeah, we need a good cover story."
"What can you say that would be believable?" Patamon asked.
"Um… maybe that Takuya and Jazz are sick?" Lopmon put out.
"No, that would just make them want to check on them," Andy explained. "We can't have them doing that."
"Then what excuse can we use?" Patamon asked.
"Jazz said that she can afford to miss a few days at school, so I can come up with something for her," Andy said. "It's Takuya's cover story I'm worried about."
"Any suggestions, Takuya?" Danny asked.
Agunimon frowned a bit as he looked down in thought. "Not really…" He admitted. "I didn't expect to get stuck like this, so it's not like I can come up with one on the spot…"
"If you weren't so tall, I'd suggest wearing some heavy clothing, and covering your face with a hoodie," Lopmon grumbled. "And just say you're Takuya going through an emo phase."
"... How do you know what 'emo' is?" Andy questioned in concern.
Lopmon blushed. "I just do?" He said in a question.
"Although the heavy clothing part isn't a bad idea when we have Agunimon go out in public," Patamon remarked. "He certainly can't go parading around as Agunimon in public otherwise."
"But can my armor come off?" Agunimon questioned. "I mean… I'ver never tried to remove it before…"
"You're not supposed to remove it. You're gonna wear clothes over it," Patamon clarified.
"Good thing you're the Legendary Warrior of Flame, cause you'll probably overheat otherwise," Danny chuckled sheepishly.
Agunimon gave Danny a ticked off look. "You're enjoying the puns, aren't you?"
"What? I was being serious," Danny pouted.
"Well we've answered how we're gonna get Agunimon in public. But not for why Takuya can't join us at breakfast," Andy spoke up, trying to get the group back on track.
"Right… that issue." Danny sighed. "Well, it's not like we can say Takuya wanted to go join Sam and Tucker for an early Nasty Burger breakfast, right?"
"Um… I mean, maybe?" Andy said.
"Wait, really?" Danny blinked. "I was just spitballing there."
"It may not be the best excuse ever, but given the circumstances, it's all we've got," Andy replied. "We have to keep 'Takuya' out of the house so Mom and Dad don't have a reason to check up on him in his room."
Danny, Lopmon, Patamon, and Agunimon all nodded in agreement.
"We might have the timeframe for the house covered, but what about school?" Lopmon asked, making the rest of the group sweatdrop collectively.
"School is… gonna be a bit chaotic," Andy finally said. "So it should be a little easier to cover for Takuya's disappearance there…"
"What about roll call?" Patamon asked.
"You know, it feels like we can't win no matter what we do," Danny groaned.
"We'll deal with the school part when we get to it. We should head to breakfast soon before Mom or Dad come up here to check on us," Andy sighed.
"Yeah… We'll see how this goes." Danny agreed. "We have to just take it one step at a time."
Agunimon jumped out of the window, and landed on the ground easily. He was wearing a lot of heavy clothes over his armor, and he had a hoodie that was about the size of Jack, over his head to keep his body and face covered. He was to look like an innocent bystander until the twins came out. He wished them luck with their excuses.
"Andy? Where's Takuya? Didn't you say you would get him?" Maddie asked when the boy sat down at the kitchen table for breakfast.
Danny and Andy had Patamon and Lopmon in their backpacks.
"Uh… about that," Andy began. "Takuya isn't here, he's-"
"He's been kidnapped by ghosts?" Jack quickly questioned.
"N-no! Nothing like that!" Danny replied. "He went out to an early breakfast with Sam and Tucker at the Nasty Burger."
"Really?" Maddie frowned. "We didn't see him go out."
"He got up earlier than me and went out," Andy said. "He had trouble sleeping, but he wanted to be active."
"He shouldn't leave the house on his own, especially with all those ghosts outside." Jack frowned. "We had the school come up with those rules for a reason."
"Well, you know Takuya. He likes to do his own thing sometimes." Danny said with a nervous chuckle.
"Well when I see him at school today, I'm gonna have to lecture him about it," Maddie sighed.
"You're coming to school with us?" Andy frowned.
"Yes. You kids need an escort to school." Jack replied. "It's for your own safety."
"Besides that, the school staff hired us to keep the students safe while the invasion is going on," Maddie explained. "And we promised to do the best we can to make sure everyone is safe."
"Oh, that's just… great…" Danny gave a nervous grin. What a time for Takuya's Spirit to have that defense mechanism kick in…
"Well, you kids had better eat up! Then we'll drive you to school." Jack said, looking eager to go out and fend off any ghosts.
"Hold on, where's Jazz? She should've been here by now," Maddie noted.
Why does everything have to happen like this? Danny inwardly groaned.
"Jazz says she's going to stay in her room today to study. She doesn't want to deal with ghosts or school right now," Andy stated.
Maddie frowned.
"And she doesn't want to be disturbed," Andy added.
"Well… Jazz is diligent about her schoolwork… I guess we can let her have this for one time." Maddie sighed.
At least Jazz has some time… but we still have a problem. Our parents are taking us to school, how are we going to walk with Agunimon? Andy frowned to himself.
"So… uh… Mom, Dad… do you really need to take us to school?" Danny asked. "Maybe you two should go on ahead and… get everything set up while we just make our way to school like we usually do."
"No can do, Danno," Jack replied. "It's our responsibility to make sure you kids are safe. Jazz will be fine at home because we have a Ghost Shield that covers the whole house. But you two will be in danger once we step outside. We're going to stick to you both like glue to make sure no ghost comes to kidnap you."
Danny and Andy both looked at each other in worry, thinking the same thing. Crap…
Agunimon waited until he saw the front door open. He was about to ask what took the twins so long, but stopped short when he saw Jack and Maddie were with Danny and Andy. Agunimon couldn't approach them without coming off as suspicious. Maddie and Jack took the twins to the Fenton Assault Vehicle.
Crap… I thought the twins would be walking to school with me, not get driven to school by Aunt Maddie and Uncle Jack! Agunimon thought in dismay. Great… This day just got worse…
Agunimon was just going to have to book it to school and figure out what to do from there.
Since Agunimon looked like a grown man, he couldn't just enter the school, so he had to wait outside. Danny and Andy didn't get a chance to talk to him since their parents all but pushed them into the school's building once they parked the Fenton RV.
Agunimon didn't know what else to do but to wait. Although, he was going to be quite bored.
"Agunimon? Where are you?"
Agunimon perked up at hearing a familiar voice. He looked out of the bushes and saw Patamon flying around.
Thinking fast, Agunimon gave a small whistle. "Patamon!" He called back.
Patamon quickly followed the whistle, heading into the bushes Agunimon was using to hide. "Danny sent me to find you. He wanted to make sure you were alright."
"Yeah, I'm fine. "Agunimon confirmed. "Just… gonna be bored out of my mind if I have to wait here all day for the twins to get out of school."
"They were talking to Tucker and Sam about the situation. Though they haven't been able to talk to Dash, he had to stick with the other popular kids for the time being," Patamon explained. "They've been frantically trying to find excuses why you, as Takuya, weren't at school. It's quite inconvenient."
"Tell me about it…" Agunimon grumbled. "If I had known this would happen, I wouldn't have Spirit Evolved last night…"
Patamon gave a hesitant look at Agunimon. He wasn't sure if he wanted to talk about it… but he couldn't let the fear stop him now. Especially if what he suspected could be true.
"About last night… you knew that ghost boy," Patamon stated. "How did you two come to know each other?"
Agunimon sighed. "When I first got the Spirit, I had no idea what I was able to become. And I wanted to know more about my abilities. At the time, Phantom was also learning about being a ghost, since he had… just… come into existence recently, and Andy was helping him learn about his own abilities. Andy had the idea the two of us would meet to see if we could figure out what I was."
Agunimon took a breath before continuing. "After that… we just kinda… stuck together when it came to fighting ghosts."
"So… both you and Andy knew about this ghost boy," Patamon remarked.
"I… guess so," Agunimon replied.
"Agunimon… do you remember what I talked to you about before?" Patamon asked. "About my mission?"
Agunimon frowned a little. He did remember something like that. "Yeah… why? What about it?"
"There's a strong chance that Phantom boy is the ghost boy from the prophecy. The ghost boy who would bring the end of all 3 worlds," Patamon stated grimly. "His description fits the prophecy too perfectly to not be him."
"What description?" Agunimon frowned.
"The prophecy talks about a ghost boy appearing one day, wearing a jumpsuit, and has hair as white as snow, with glowing eyes. But he will look the most human out of any ghost," Patamon described. "Does that not sound familiar to you?"
To Agunimon, it did sound familiar… too familiar, as his face grew pale enough to where his red facial markings stood out clearly against his cheeks.
"Do you see why I wasn't so inclined to trust that ghost boy?" Patamon asked.
"Y-yeah…" Agunimon said, trying to keep the stammer out of his voice. Shit… That's Danny's ghost form that Patamon's describing! But… This… It can't be… Danny is going to end all three worlds?!
"But… How would this ghost boy end all 3 worlds?" Agunimon questioned.
"He… may not end it all himself, not directly," Patamon replied. "But he is the key that will bring a war between ghosts, humans, and Digimon. And that war will destroy all 3 worlds."
"That's…" Agunimon trailed off, not exactly happy to hear this new information. Crud… No wonder Patamon hasn't been his usual grumpy self. He's worried about Danny somehow bringing about the end of all three worlds! Wait… does he know it's even Danny?
"This is the burden I have, the choice I have to make," Patamon said grimly. "It was a burden I chose to take, so nobody else would have to. What a cruel twist of fate… that the ghost boy, the target I had been looking for… may have been under my wings the whole time…"
"Wait… Are you sure this is the ghost boy of prophecy?" Agunimon asked, wanting to try and dissuade Patamon from going after Danny. "I mean… there could be other ghosts like him, right?"
"Until you can find another ghost that fits the description more than Phantom, I'm afraid that everything points to him being the ghost boy from the prophecy," Patamon replied. "I don't want to believe it to be so. But what choice do I have? If I turn my back to it, and try to turn a blind eye, then I'll be failing my duty, and endangering all 3 worlds…"
Agunimon remembered what Koichi had said before, about how he would have to make a tough decision in his life.
Agunimon frowned at the memory of that. Did Koichi mean I have to… help Patamon with this…? I… Agunimon looked down at his hands which were shaking a bit now. I… I can't do it… I just can't do something like that…
Agunimon had to take a moment to calm himself down. He tried to imagine what Andy would do in a situation like this. Don't freak out, try to gather more information first.
"What… exactly does this prophecy say?" Agunimon asked.
Patamon took a deep breath. "I've memorized every word the prophecy had said. 'In the year 20XX, a ghost boy that appears to be of adolescent age will appear. The ghost boy will wear a jumpsuit, his hair will be as white as snow, his eyes will be glowing a ghostly color, and he will look human despite his ghostly appearance. Beware, for the ghost boy will become the key to bringing the end to the Ghost Zone, the Earth, and the Digital World. Families divided, hatred and bitterness will stir and bubble, darkness will give rise to a powerful being, and a war will break out. From the ashes of the destruction, a new era will begin'."
Agunimon frowned some more when he heard this. That sounds… heavy… But… it can't be set in stone. It… it's not out of the realm of possibility this could change… right?
"That…" Agunimon trailed off, running a hand through his wild blonde hair. "I don't really know what to make of that to be honest… It sounds… very… dark…"
"Exactly…" Patamon said softly. "Maybe it doesn't have to be set in stone, but… the only way I can see of preventing this dark prophecy from coming true is… getting rid of the ghost boy for good. Without him, there won't be any war, or a dark powerful entity that would rise up from it all."
Agunimon frowned again. "That… sounds a bit harsh…" He began. "What if… what if getting rid of the ghost boy is what sets off this war?"
"You're grasping at straws at this point," Patamon pointed out. "Agunimon… no, Takuya… it's clear to me that you don't want to do this, not because it's immoral, but because you really care about this Phantom kid, don't you?"
Agunimon hesitated, which told Patamon all he needed to know.
Patamon sighed. "Even if you two were allies for driving evil ghosts out of this town, it would take more than just that to make you care enough for him to not want to kill him to prevent this prophecy, knowing what you know. And the responsibility that comes with it."
"It's… It's just… Phantom was helping me figure out what I was… And… he's just a… a kid…" Agunimon murmured softly. "I… I can't kill a kid… even if he is a ghost…"
"I know. I wouldn't ask you to," Patamon said, surprising Agunimon. "In case you've forgotten, I did say before that I took on this burden so nobody else had to."
"So… why tell me?" Agunimon questioned.
"I needed to know…" Patamon began. "No, nevermind, it's best you don't know."
"What do you mean?" Agunimon asked. He didn't like the way the conversation was going. "What's going on, Patamon?"
Patamon frowned. "Just how close you are to Phantom."
"Huh?" Agunimon blinked. "Why would you need to know that?"
"Don't worry about it," Patamon said. "But if you really can find another way to prevent this prophecy, I'd like to hear about it…"
Agunimon looked down, his face showing his own inner turmoil quite clearly. "I… don't know… if I have one…"
"No, I suppose not. It is a bit too much to ask after all," Patamon sighed.
Before Agunimon could try asking what Patamon intended to do, the lunch bell rang quite loudly. Jack and Maddie quickly rushed outside, getting into their Fenton RV, and had it drive in the middle of the school's outside cafeteria. The students were all coming out to eat their lunches on the picnic tables. Maddie came out of the RV and held up a megaphone.
"Alright kids, eat your nutritious meals!" Maddie called out before she turned to Danny and Andy. "Hi sweeties!"
Maddie then held out two bag lunches for the twins. "Here's your nutritious bag lunches!"
Agunimon sweatdropped. "Actually… I might be kinda glad I'm stuck like this…"
Andy pulled his hoodie up to his head again before he rushed away from Maddie before she could say anything else. Danny really wished he didn't get hot so easily these days, so he could wear a hoodie too.
Maddie then held up the megaphone again. "Jack, hit it!"
As if on cue, the Fenton RV came into view, with Jack at the wheel. The RV came to a stop and Jack grinned as he hit the Ghost Shield button above his head. A small antenna emerged from the top of the Fenton RV before it extended into a small satellite dish-like emitter, and then a glowing green ghost shield emerged, covering the whole eating area.
"This portable Ghost Shield only has enough power to last for 15 minutes!" Jack announced after he came out of the RV. "So chew, chew like the wind!"
"I freaking hate this…" Andy grumbled when he, Danny, Tucker, and Sam were sitting at the same table.
Danny was already chewing his sandwich like the wind.
"Danny, are you okay?" Sam asked as she watched Danny eating faster than she had ever seen him eat.
"Why would I not be?" Danny replied. "Just because the town's on high alert, my parents are at my school…" He began to eat his yogurt quickly. He then swallowed his own spork. "And I'm eating so fast I think I swallowed my spork!"
"You did what?" Lopmon questioned.
"Lopmon, get back in the backpack! Someone will see you," Andy whispered.
Danny looked around for a moment to make sure nobody else was looking at him, besides his friends, before he turned his left arm intangible, then he had his hand go into his stomach to pull the spork out. Sometimes being half ghost had its advantages, he didn't want to get his stomach pumped at a hospital later.
Andy dropped his own spork upon seeing this. "... And I thought biting a Chamelemon's tongue was gross…"
Danny looked at Andy. "You did what?!"
"Oh yeah, you should've seen him. Andy managed to handle himself when a Chamelemon had him wrapped up with his tongue, and he sunk his own teeth into that saliva-" Lopmon began.
"Don't go into details, please!" Andy spoke up. "I'm trying to eat! Although I think I've lost my appetite now."
"And I think I lost mine…" Danny admitted. "Andy… you're crazy…"
"At least I didn't swallow my spork, and then took it out of my own gut," Andy pointed out.
"Okay, you two, we are still trying to eat," Tucker grumbled.
"Yeah, save the disgusting talk for after we finish eating…" Sam added, feeling like she wasn't hungry now.
Danny sighed, deciding to change the subject. "All I know is that when I get five free minutes, I'm going to find that werewolf ghost and try to find out where Walker is hiding since that mafia-wannabe started all of this!"
"Oh yeah, don't do that," Andy said.
"What? Why not?" Danny questioned. "He's causing all sorts of trouble!"
"I forgot to tell you this, because of the hectic morning, but Lopmon and I ran into that werewolf ghost earlier," Andy explained. "From what we could gather, he's on the run from Walker and his minions. He's got a shock collar on him that he definitely wants out of. And he apparently speaks a different language, which I think might be Esperanto."
"Esper… wawa?" Sam blinked.
Tucker took over with the explanation. "Esperanto, an artificial language from the 1800s. Nowadays, its only purpose is to give geeks a secret language to talk to other geeks with."
"Basically it's a dead language, and some people use it to talk in secret," Andy translated.
"I'm surprised you knew about that language," Sam said. "I didn't even know about it, and my parents try to get me to learn different languages."
"Danny used to learn Esperanto, and I failed at it, horribly," Andy grumbled.
"Did I?" Danny blinked. "I must've forgotten it."
"But, Tucker, can you speak Esperanto?" Andy asked.
"To a limited degree, yeah." Tucker replied. "I know enough to hold small conversations, but not full ones."
"I suppose it's better than nothing though," Andy sighed.
Meanwhile, the werewolf ghost landed on a tree just above the eating place. He looked down, he could smell the scent of the ghost boy who said he wanted to help him. But what confused him was that he smelled… two different scents, but both of them belong to the ghost boy… or… did they? The werewolf needed to find out, because if anyone was willing to help him, he was going to take it. He was getting quite desperate at this point.
The werewolf ghost took a moment to study the Ghost Shield. Normally, it would be impossible for any ghost to enter through the shield without an immense amount of power. However, the Ghost Shield didn't take into account reality tearing claws like the werewolf had. He could easily drill a hole through the shield. He had to get to the source and destroy it so he could have a conversation with the boy from earlier this morning. Or attempt one since the boy didn't speak his language. If only he would use his ghostly aura to speak to him, then there wouldn't be a language barrier between them.
The werewolf ghost jumped up into the air before extending his claws and spun around like a drill. He managed to get through the ghost shield before landing on its source, the strange metallic box on wheels. The werewolf ghost turned intangible and went into the vehicle in question.
Outside the ghost shield, Agunimon suddenly tensed up as he felt those welcome, yet unwanted, feelings of heat and cold running down his spine. "Shit…"
"Well, I guess the time for talking is over," Patamon remarked, likely feeling the ghost himself.
Danny was about to eat his potato chips when the familiar blue mist came out of his mouth. "Oh no… here? Again?"
"But we're chewing like the wind inside the Ghost Shield, where could the ghost be? Unless you're sensing them outside," Tucker questioned.
Just then, the Fenton RV suddenly exploded. The Ghost Shield then began to drop, much to everyone's horror.
Sam looked back. "Survey says it's behind us…" She muttered, seeing the remnants of the Fenton Assault Vehicle.
"How did the ghost destroy the Assault Vehicle? It's meant to take ghost attacks," Andy questioned in concern.
Jack and Maddie were taken by surprise by this as well, they never expected a ghost to be able to destroy their Fenton Assault Vehicle.
Suddenly, the werewolf ghost came up into the sky, growling. He wanted the other pesky humans to leave so he could talk to the ghost boy. The students all gasped when they saw the werewolf ghost, and they began to run and scream in a panic.
"Of all the rotten luck…" Tucker groaned.
Suddenly, the werewolf ghost was shocked by the collar. He looked back, seeing Bullet and the other ghost guards had found him rather quickly. The werewolf ghost thought he had lost them. And now he had to flee again.
The werewolf ghost dropped down on the table, causing food to splatter everywhere, before flying up.
Danny looked at his two friends and brother. "If anyone asks where I am, lie!" He said, more than ready to find a hiding spot and turn into his ghostly form.
For once, Danny was glad Patamon wasn't with him, it gave him the chance he needed to change. But unfortunately, he ran right into where Agunimon was hiding. And Patamon was there too. Danny had to stop short.
"Oh… I… uh… didn't see you there…" Danny said nervously. Crap… Bad spot to choose to go ghost…
"Ah, Danny, out for a stroll and a place to hide?" Patamon questioned, sounding rather sarcastic.
Danny blinked.
Patamon rolled his eyes. Fine, just this once… we need him. "I'll take Agunimon somewhere else to get these ridiculous clothes off. Get a move on, you big lug."
Agunimon gave Danny a small smile before he got up and ran off, following Patamon.
Danny sighed in relief. "Okay… Now I'm going ghost!" He called forth his white transformation rings, which split at his torso. As the rings split vertically, they revealed the black and white hazmat suit, white boots, white gloves, and the snow white hair. Danny's eyes flashed neon green once the rings vanished, revealing him as Danny Phantom.
Now in his ghostly form, Phantom took off after Walker's goons.
Andy, Tucker, Sam, and Lopmon were trying to do some damage control, trying to get the panicking students to calm down.
"If only we could fly, we could go after them," Lopmon grumbled.
"Well, we can't, so we'll have to leave it up to Danny," Andy sighed before remembering Lopmon didn't know about Danny's secret. "Uh… Phantom. Danny Phantom."
"You mean that ghost boy up there?" Lopmon asked. "Doesn't he kinda look like Danny? I mean your brother, Danny."
"Does he? I haven't noticed," Andy replied, though he was somewhat sarcastic. I really hadn't noticed until he changed in front of me. Or maybe it's more… I turned a blind eye on purpose.
Andy then heard what sounded like a machine powering up, and he looked over at his dad, who was pointing a bazooka at the sky.
"One blast of this, and you'll find yourself teleported back to that little empty dimension you call home!" Jack grinned as he aimed the bazooka at the flying Danny.
Andy gasped, seeing that the bazooka was aiming for Danny. He ran over to his dad, then acted like he tripped and fell onto Jack's back, throwing off his aim. "Oops!"
The blast of energy sped up into the air, just barely missing Danny. "H-hey!"
The energy blast sped past Danny and towards Walker's goons. Two of them were caught up in the blast and teleported through what looked like a mini Ghost Portal back into the Ghost Zone. But Bullet was missed completely.
"Whoa…" Danny muttered. "Portable Ghost Portal… Oh great…"
While the ghost guards were gone, Bullet was still left chasing after the werewolf ghost. He decided to shoot out his red ecto rope energy like before to grab onto the runaway fugitive. The rope energy wrapped around the werewolf's tail, and started to shock him. Danny remembered that rope energy all too well.
"Great… You're big, you're hairy, and you're a ghost… But if Walker's goons are after you… You can't be all bad." Danny decided. He flew down to try to help the werewolf ghost.
Danny used his ghost ray to snap off the ecto ropes. The werewolf ghost saw this, and was relieved to see the ghost kid was actually helping him. Danny grabbed onto the broken rope, using his own energy. See how you like this!
Danny changed the rope to green, just like before. Bullet's eyes went wide when he saw that, he didn't expect the ghost kid to be helping this ghost wolf. He quickly let go of the rope and flew away, he was going to retreat for now.
Danny saw Bullet retreating and sighed in relief. "He's gone… Good. I don't need to deal with him again for a while…"
Danny then turned to the werewolf ghost. "You okay?"
The werewolf ghost sniffed Danny for a moment before licking him. Danny yelped as he was coated in wolf saliva… correction, he was coated in ecto wolf saliva. Although Danny was kinda numb to the grossness of it since he had to deal with Cujo in the past.
"Ugh… gross… ghost wolf saliva…" Danny groaned. "Well, it's better than being shocked by those ecto-ropes I guess…"
"Hey! Are you okay?" Agunimon popped up from the bushes, the heavy clothes were off of him now, though he was covered in leaves.
The werewolf ghost growled at the Digimon.
"Hey, hey, it's okay, he's also a friend," Danny quickly explained to the werewolf.
Agunimon blinked as the werewolf ghost crept closer to him. He was nervous as the ghostly werewolf sniffed him a bit, but then the werewolf ghost slinked away from him, with no signs of an attack coming.
"Ĉu aliancano? (Ally?)" The werewolf ghost questioned.
"Uh… yeah, he's an… aliancano," Danny answered, from how the word sounded, he figured it could mean 'ally' or 'friend'.
The werewolf ghost looked at Agunimon again before glancing back at Danny and gave Danny another lick, much to Agunimon's amusement, as he tried very hard to keep himself from laughing, but to no avail. "Dankon pro helpi min, mi ĝojas, ke mi povas fidi vin. (Thank you for helping me, I'm glad I can trust you.)"
Danny felt awkward. He felt like he should know what the wolf was saying, but he didn't. I probably should've kept up with my language lessons. "We should go somewhere more secluded before my parents find us."
Agunimon calmed himself down and nodded. "Yeah… we probably should." He agreed.
Lopmon looked around before spotting the werewolf ghost, Phantom, and Agunimon. "There you guys are. They're over here!"
Andy, Tucker, and Sam ran over, and the werewolf ghost gave a confused look at Andy, then at Danny.
"Estas du el vi? (There are two of you?)" The werewolf ghost asked.
"Hey, looks like you were able to help Wulf here," Andy said.
"Wolf?" Sam asked.
"Spelled with a 'u' instead of an 'o'. That's what I've decided to call him since we don't really know his name," Andy replied. "It's easier than just calling him 'the werewolf ghost'."
"Hey, I think it works." Tucker said with a grin.
The newly named 'Wulf' walked over to Andy, sniffed him, and then gave him the same treatment he did Danny; a big, fat,wet lick.
"Wah? What was that for?" Andy asked in surprise, unlike Danny, he was not used to being licked by a canine ghost.
"Uh, you're not gonna lick me too, are you? I think I might be allergic to ecto saliva," Lopmon questioned.
Wulf turned to Lopmon, and because this digital beast was affiliated with the ghost boy, gave him a lick as well.
"Waaah!" Lopmon yelled as he ran around in a panic. "I've been infected!"
"Oh you are such a drama queen!" Patamon yelled from the top of a tree.
Agunimon couldn't hold back his laughter and was unable to speak because he was laughing so hard.
"I think this Wulf is quite the character." Tucker grinned.
Patamon had a shadow looming over him. He turned, seeing Maddie climbing up the tree, she had a bazooka ready, but she was surprised to see the stuffed animal Danny always had with him moving on its own, looking back at her.
Patamon turned back around. I wonder if this is my karma right now?
Patamon quickly flew down from the tree branch before Maddie could do anything. "Maddie's here! Run!"
The group all froze at Patamon's warning.
"Crud…" Danny grumbled. "Scatter, you guys!"
"What the?" Maddie was very confused why and how that stuffed animal was able to fly and speak on its own. Did a ghost possess it?
"Meet at Tucker's house!" Andy called out as he and the others ran off.
Danny had Wulf follow him into the sky. Agunimon hid back into the bushes to grab the heavy clothes to put back on.
Once the clothes were put back on, Agunimon managed to make his way out of the bushes, trying to act casual and like he was just heading down the street normally.
The group had been lucky. Tucker's parents weren't home yet, which made his house the perfect hiding spot. They were currently in Tucker's attic. Andy, Tucker, Sam, Agunimon, Patamon, Lopmon, and Wulf were sitting on some chairs, while Danny was floating with his feet fused into a ghostly tail. Patamon was eyeing the ghost kid, but hadn't said anything.
"I feel like this could be a bad idea." Tucker muttered.
"Well, Wulf can't stay at the Fentons' house, not with it being Ghost-Kateer Central." Sam pointed out.
"And even if it wasn't, do you really want to risk having a ghost stay at the home of ghost hunters?" Agunimon muttered.
"Well, no, but… is my house the best idea to hide a ghost fugitive?" Tucker asked. "We don't have anything like a Ghost Shield to protect us if Walker's goons decide to come here."
"We need to get that collar off, and see if we can understand him enough to know what Walker's up to," Danny sighed.
Lopmon and Patamon were looking at Phantom. They had noticed how nobody thought it was strange Danny wasn't there, and that nobody even asked if Danny was okay, or if he was coming. It seemed what Patamon had thought was becoming more and more likely.
"Couldn't you remove the collar, Tucker?" Andy asked. "I kinda thought you would be able to."
"I could, but it will take some time." Tucker replied. "I haven't tried to hack ghostly tech since the fight with Skulker. Maybe if Kokuwamon was here, I'd be able to hack into it much faster."
"At least try it," Sam said. "I don't like seeing this poor wolf being shocked and collared."
"For now though, what should we do?" Agunimon asked. "We can't just stay here, can we?"
"If we could figure out where Walker is, maybe I can confront him and put a stop to this once and for all," Danny sighed.
"Problem is, we don't know where he is, or when we'll strike," Andy grumbled. "Or even what person he's overshadowing."
Tucker's cell phone began ringing, much to everyone's surprise.
"Really, Tucker?" Sam grumbled.
"What? I don't control who calls me," Tucker remarked as he looked at the caller ID. "Huh? It's Dash."
"How does he have your phone number?" Agunimon asked.
"I used to do his homework," Tucker said.
"Not important, answer it, he might have some important information," Andy instructed.
Tucker did as Andy instructed. "Hello? What's going on, Dash?"
"Foley, put me on speaker if the others are with you. I think they'll want to hear this," Dash replied urgently.
Tucker pressed the speaker phone icon. "You're on speaker, Dash. Go ahead."
"Okay. Well I was following some of my friends, and I saw them going into the school. Some of the school staff were going into one room with them. I took a peek from the door to see what they were doing, and it looks like they're holding some kind of meeting, with… Calvin standing in front of the room. I'm just guessing here, but that Walker ghost could be overshadowing Calvin since he appears to be the ring leader here. It's also really creepy in the room, I feel goosebumps." Dash informed.
Agunimon growled, showing his sharp canine teeth in his anger. "Well, we may have an idea of who Walker is overshadowing then…"
"If that's true." Sam pointed out. "Walker could change hosts and throw us off guard."
"Yeah, but if Walker wants to be in charge, he would go for the one who has more influence than others, especially if he is after… well… someone in our age range." Agunimon retorted. "That person's peers would be more likely to be influenced by someone with more… status, in this case, being a popular kid."
"What should we do then?" Tucker asked.
"It might be best if I go and confront him now that I know where he is," Danny decided. "If I can catch him off guard, maybe I can end this before it gets out of hand."
"Alone?" Andy asked.
"Yes, alone." Danny replied. "Out of all of us, I have the best chance of getting in and out unseen."
"D-err… Phantom, are you sure that's such a good idea?" Agunimon questioned. "You could get seen or…"
"You sure you don't want to take Agunimon with you?" Andy questioned. "He could help you."
Danny paused before thinking. "That…" He trailed off, trying to consider the options. On one hand, Agunimon was a powerful Legendary Warrior. But on the other hand, Walker was likely unaware of him being there, and Danny wanted to keep Walker in the dark as long as possible about Agunimon's presence.
"Maybe…" Danny finally admitted. "But… What if Walker finds out about him? I'd rather not risk Walker knowing Agunimon is here."
"So you rather risk getting yourself caught and possibly killed?" Patamon spoke up for the first time since they got there. "Don't be so foolish!"
Patamon's paws were curled into fists. He had never felt so conflicted in all of his lives before.
Danny blinked. "W-wha…?" He hadn't expected the response from Patamon.
Patamon looked away from Danny. "Going at it alone is a recipe for disaster. But… what do I care? I have no business with you ghosts. Go tear each other apart for all I care!"
Agunimon frowned at the outburst from Patamon. This was not the way he had expected things to go, and it worried him greatly. "Patamon…"
"Are you okay, Patamon?" Lopmon asked in concern.
Patamon frowned before he began flapping his wings. "I… need some fresh air. You go handle your ghostly duties or whatever, ghost kid."
Everyone watched in silence as Patamon flew out the open window.
"That was… unexpected…" Tucker muttered. "It sounds like Patamon has a problem with Danny… err… Phantom…"
Danny felt kinda funny about that, like he was feeling… guilty for some reason. "Um… I'd rather we focus on Walker and his goons for the moment…" Maybe I can try talking to Patamon after this is over with…
"Do you think he'll be okay out there on his own?" Lopmon asked in concern. "There are a lot of ghosts out there…"
"We'll go look for him," Andy offered.
"Are you sure, Andy?" Sam asked.
"Yeah. It's too dangerous to be alone right now," Andy answered. "Lopmon and I can handle ourselves if we need to. Agunimon can back Phantom up. You and Tucker try to get that collar off of Wulf."
Agunimon frowned, but he nodded. "Okay…"
Tucker and Sam nodded as well. "We will do what we can." Tucker replied. "It won't be so easy to get that collar off, but I will try."
"And try to find out what Walker's up to if you can," Danny added. "Come on, Agunimon, we better get going."
Danny picked Agunimon up by his arms. Despite being much bigger than Danny, Danny was able to carry him with no issues.
"H-hey! A bit of warning would be nice next time…" Agunimon grumbled.
"I did say we were going," Danny rolled his eyes as he turned them both intangible to fly through the house's roof.
"We better get going too, we don't want Patamon to get too far," Andy said.
"Good luck," Lopmon added.
Wulf looked at them and gave them a small puppy dog pout.
"Don't worry, you big furry dog, we'll get you out of that collar soon," Andy chuckled. "Tucker and Sam will try to do that. Just be cooperative with them, alright?"
Wulf looked over at Tucker and Sam, and just gave a nod. Andy wasn't sure if Wulf understood him, but he hoped he understood him enough to make things easier.
"Let's go, Lopmon," Andy said as he and Lopmon had to use the door to leave instead of just flying off like Danny.
Tucker sighed before he decided to try to communicate with Wulf using his limited Esperanto. "So… what is Walker up to? Kion faras Walker?"
Wulf growled. "Li estas al meti via amiko ena malliberejo! (He is going to put your friend in prison!)"
Tucker frowned. Why he didn't understand everything that Wulf said, he did get the gist of it. "I think Wulf said something about Danny and… prison…"
"Like… he wants to put Danny in prison?" Sam asked.
"I think so?" Tucker guessed.
"But we kinda figured that, what we want to know is how," Sam pointed out.
Tucker looked at Wulf again. "So… um… How is Walker going to put Danny in prison? Kiel Walker metos Danny'n en malliberejon?"
Wulf looked down. "Tion mi ne scias, bedaŭrinde (That I don't know, sadly.)"
"It sounds like he doesn't know," Tucker translated.
"Sed mi ja scias, ke li volis, ke mi uzu miajn ungegojn por venigi lin kaj liajn policanojn ĉi tien por fari tion. (But I do know he wanted me to use my claws to bring him and his cops here to do it.)" Wulf added.
Tucker blinked. "But apparently Walker wanted to come here to put this plan into motion using… Wulf's claws…?" He translated. "Either that or Walker wanted to take Wulf's claws and put it on his cops, but I doubt that's the case."
"Why his claws?" Sam asked.
Tucker shrugged. "I think we should focus more on getting that collar off now. Whatever Walker wanted with Wulf, he can't use him anymore if he doesn't have that collar on him."
Wulf reached up and gave a tug on the collar, but it refused to come off. Wulf had the look of a kicked puppy on his face at the lack of movement from the collar.
"Can you use your PDA or something to hack into the collar?" Sam asked.
"I can try, but unless the collar is active, it'll be difficult to hack into the security," Tucker explained. "Although if it is active, I'd get shocked myself. And a high voltage meant to shock a ghost wolf could kill me."
Sam frowned. "So you can't try?"
"Oh, I'll try alright. I'm just… not looking forward to the shock that may come…" Tucker muttered, feeling somewhat nervous.
"I'll see if I can keep Wulf calm while you work on his collar then," Sam said, trying not to think about what would happen to Tucker if he were to get shocked, the last thing she needed was another one of her friends becoming a ghost, through electrocution no less.
Tucker nodded as he took out his PDA and began to look for a port on the collar. "Let's see… where is the port on this thing…?" He muttered, trying to find it.
While Tucker was doing that, Sam was trying to keep Wulf calm, either by petting him on his head, or trying to show him a picture album she had found. "See this, Wulf? This is a picture of all of us… Me and my friends."
Wulf looked at the pictures, he could help but feel a bit sad as he looked through them. His own friends and families had been… gone for as long as he could remember. They didn't come back as ghosts like he did, though that didn't stop him from looking for them himself. He remembered how loyal he was to those he had cared about. And now… maybe he found a few new friends to be loyal to again.
Sam frowned. "Hey… are you okay?" She asked in concern, having noticed Wulf's sad look.
Wulf may not be able to speak the same language as this girl, but he could tell she was concerned for him. He just gave her a small, reassuring smile.
"Wow, Sam, you really are good with animals," Tucker complimented.
"Oh hush, you." Sam grumbled, feeling her face heating up with a blush.
Wulf saw the bond between the two and smiled, before he gave Sam a big lick on the face.
"... I really hope this is easy to wash off…" Sam groaned while Tucker laughed.
Titanic X: ZAFT: Glad you liked the plan Andy had~ XD It's always fun to do Andy's plans~
pokemon fan 1991: DarkFoxKit: Thanks. I like the Burgermon episode, so I thought about putting it in here. And yup, Walker time.
Kittylover05: ZAFT: Another long review from Kitty today~ XD To start, I am glad you liked how Tommy was handled here~ XD And yeah, the way the boy was treated does seem like something like what the GiW would do to Danny too.
… Wow… I just realized how much we terrorize these poor boys. XD
DarkFoxKit: Originally I wasn't going to go this far with Tommy. When I first introduced him, he was just going to be a part of the Frontier gang, and was just off spying on a group of players, acting like the innocent boy. But I ended up creating something much more for him. And yeah, he became a younger Andy in a sense. I also like the idea of what a person would do if they met with a Frontier character that's capable of turning into a Digimon. Chances are, they would dehumanize them like what Sir Michael was doing to Tommy, and it was something Digimon Frontier never tackled, so I'm glad I was able to create a character to give that kind of conflict. And poor Tommy has it bad on both sides, because the other Frontier gang thinks he's a Rogue Warrior, a bad guy. And Tommy remains unaware he's even a Legendary Warrior. I also just like psychologically torturing my boys. XD
ZAFT: Hopefully time with Jazz will do some good too. XD As for Walker's goons and plans, we have some good stuff planned out~ X3
DarkFoxKit: Of course I had to bring Andy back for the Walker episode. It wouldn't feel right without him. Danny Phantom isn't out of commission, he's just trying to choose when's the best time to use his ghost form. Especially with Patamon being there, and Patamon made it clear he's after a ghost boy that fits Danny Phantom's description. Though you are right, Walker's plan falls apart if there is no Danny Phantom to set up and frame. Still, I doubt Walker would've gone into this without a back-up plan. He would find a way to force Danny to transform no matter what.
ZAFT: As for Wulf, we'll see if we have him to go to the Digital World, but chances are we won't, as far as I know.
With Maternal Instincts, you'll see what happens. XD I think you'll like it~ X3 And thanks! I'm glad you think we pull the fusion off well! That's high praise right there!
DarkFoxKit: Trust me, while we do take some stuff from the show, we try to make it our own instead of copying and pasting everything. We find creative ways to twist the episode to make it fresh. Using the Digital World helps with that, as we can have characters use it for things outside of what's going on in their world. And yeah, their perception of time could be completely scrambled here.
ZAFT: That's what you get when traveling to a Digital World~ XD
DarkFoxKit: The Ghost Zone's passage of time is also a weird one, and one that wasn't ever clearly defined in the show either. So we can only guess what the time differences could be, and if there are time differences depending on which part of the Ghost Zone or a ghostly lair/domain they're in. And the Ghost Zone does play a big role with the real world and the Digital World too.
Thanks for your review, and have you heard about the graphic novel for Danny Phantom A Glitch in Time? I suggest checking it out when you can~
ZAFT: We await the next review from you soon~ :3
