Hello one and all to a new episode of Pokemon SVTA where today, we will have a large episode focused on Ash training Kieran as a trainer upon discovering Kieran's secret while Penny and Arven help a mysterious art loving girl who seems to have some history with Hassel. As of writing this, Pokemon Legends Zygarde was announced as the newest Legends game, I was expecting a Gen 5 related game or Legends game but I'm not complaining, I'm hyped. I'll likely include some elements from that game in the future and possibly a future story arc set in Kalos but only when we know more information about it and it won't be for a long while.

Cover Story 40: Paul's Self-Reflection 1

Paul is an interesting enigma, he's cold, rude but feels lonely within his heart. He and his brother loss their parents when Paul was around 8 thus Reggie raised Paul, but Reggie wasn't put down by this loss and to cheer Paul up, he took him to see Professor Rowan to get Paul's first Pokemon and after spending time with Turtwig, Paul chose Turtwig and felt happy. Where did those times go?

Ever since he saw his brother lose against Brandon of the Battle Frontier, Paul decided that he wouldn't be like his weaker older brother and train even if it meant it would hurt his Pokemon. To his credit, he managed to beat down anyone around him successfully including Ash but after Paul lost against Ash at the Sinnoh conference, he's been doing some thinking for a while. He never really cared for Ash or Dawn but has some respect for Brock due to him being older and getting through to him at times but that didn't matter to Paul... at least initially.

Ash left some sort of effect on him during his journey such as his Gliscor, Paul was training him but although Gliscor felt superior to everyone, he also felt unhappy since his teammates weren't really friendly and was jealous of Ash's Gliscor (Gligar at the time) for having good companions and missed his friends in Gligar and strangely for Paul, when he saw that Gliscor wasn't interested in battling and encounters a horde of hurt Gligar, Gliscor changed from battle loving to worried even regretful and when Paul saw this, rather than scold him, he let Gliscor go so he can be truly happy.

After some years after Ash left Sinnoh, he began to hang out with his brother more and learning about how Pokemon felt and how he acted at times, he wrote an apology to Maylene for what he said to her but doesn't expect her to accept his apology and started to ease off on training his Pokemon to let them be themselves but he still kept watch on Ash's battles on TV and when he heard of his win in Alola, he felt happy for him and when he heard that he entered the World Tournament and eventually the Master's 8, Paul decided to test him by using the aces of other Champions Metagross, Garchomp and Gyarados and when Ash succeeded, Paul knew he was ready.

He also reunited with Infernape and although Infernape was calm, Infernape's eyes told him that he holds a grudge against Paul and Electivire because of Paul's abuse over Infernape and that caused Paul to reflect on himself but it wasn't the only thing that happened, while waiting for his taxi at Professor Oak's he gets a call from a trainer's organization about an offer to become Viridian City's Gym Leader and although it sounds promising, he says he isn't sure yet and the caller acknowledges it saying he has enough time to think about it.

It sounded enticing to Paul but after encountering Infernape again, something within him caused him some questions and heads back home. While he was training with his Drapion and Honchkrow, Drapion won against Honchkrow but insisted on battling more and became aggressive with the others when they refused and Honchkrow was hurt badly. When Paul tried to reach out to Honchkrow, Honchkrow panicked at Paul raising his fist (he was actually stretching) and hid causing Paul to think about how hurt Honchkrow was as a Murkrow after their fight with Cynthia, he realized the problem wasn't them, it was himself but before things could get worse, Reggie's Marill calms everyone down with Sing and that's when Paul wants to talk with his brother.

Paul reveals his call about being a Gym Leader but the thing holding back is himself and how he acted in the past feeling unsure about his future. Reggie understands and he feels that way too revealing he got offered a role as an elementary school teacher for teaching about Pokemon but he wants to prepare himself first before he prepares to teach. He offers Paul to go on a trip to the Johto Region to climb MT. Silver, a mountain that is said to reflects one's character and thoughts for the future, Paul decides to go to allow him to think about his past and his future going forward bringing along Electivire, Torterra, Gyarados, Magmortar, and his newly caught Corviknight and Toxapex for the ride as they head to the Johto region.

Cover Story 17 remake (I wasn't proud of the cover story I gave Dawn, so I decided to remake it): Dawn and Zoey take on the World! 1

Dawn and Pipplup were certainly busy after she left Sinnoh for more contests as a coordinator, she caught some Pokemon that could be in her performances such as Snom, Gothitelle, Poltchageist and even got a Goomy egg from a Galar contest at one point which evolved into a Sliggoo (her mons goes to Professor Rowan for spacing) after a contest and though there are ups and downs, she'll always work hard towards her next goal. She got to travel with Ash and even helped him with some strategies that he took to heart, and she did the same allowing her to succeed as a coordinator. She got to reunite with Ash a couple of times catching up and even watching his Masters 8 battle but now, she's back home.

During her time home, she's been training, Piplup learned Ice Spinner (replacing Ice Beam) and even evolved Snom to Frosmoth but she also heard several things about her fellow coordinators, Nando apparently got an invitation to Platano academy in his home region of Paldea for winning a coordinator contest and being deemed worthy as a Champion. Kenny is in Unova preparing for a contest there, Ursula was disqualified from a Kanto contest for cheating, but Dawn hasn't heard anything from Zoey until a week later when she gets a call from Zoey saying she wants to meet in Jubilife City for something special in two days.

Dawn reunites with Zoey two days later with Zoey revealing a proposition to join a tag team torunament contest in Hearthome where the winner faces off against the greatest coordinator of the world Etendue and get to train under her. Though this intrigues Dawn and Piplup, she wonders why Zoey chose her and Zoey reveals she simply trusts them after their many battles, Dawn then agrees interested in this Etendue and wanting to do some battles and Zoey appears happy though Dawn sees that she maybe hiding something due to her voice and eyes, a hidden sadness mixed with determination. Whatever it is, they both leave for Hearthome and train for the next seven days to prepare for the entry rounds.

Cover Story 41: Tales from the Lab 1 (Kanto Edition): Weaving Connections

Ash's Pokemon at Oak's Lab have the freedom to explore and go on many adventures, learn more about each other and even some new opportunities for them including going with Ash, When Oak revealed that Ash has decided to bring along some Pokemon for his adventures in Paldea, it got them excited to continue more adventures with Ash and wanting to show Ash how much they've trained at the lab. Let's look into some stories while at the lab during Ash's journey.

When Ash's Journey's team were dropped at the lab, they got along with everyone with Gengar spooking everyone there, Lucario training with Charizard and Infernape, Sirfetch'd is doing his own thing but he's hanging out with Heracross, Dracovish was hanging out with Totodile and Corphish being dorks, but Dragonite felt unsure where she wanted to hang out. She tried to hang out with Tauros, but they were too rowdy, she wasn't fast enough for the bird Pokemon and thus she felt alone until she saw Bulbasaur and Leavanny.

Leavanny was the caretaker of Ash's Pokemon acting as both a motherly and fatherly figure towards everyone such as him stopping Heracross from clinging onto Bulbasaur, making sure Corphish didn't steal or hurt anyone and calming down Pokemon like Torkoal whenever he cried. The Pokemon both Ash's and non-Ash's alike respect him for being a caring figure and when Dragonite interacted with Levanny, some sparks were lit as both got friendly (and also became good friends with Bulbasaur) and since then, they both help take care of the Pokemon with Dragonite acting like the mother and Leavanny acting as both and both were happy.

Oak reveals that Ash bought all of them some gifts and Leavanny got some large leaves for his sewing and Dragonite got an appropriately sized T-shirt having a heart on it, there was also an egg that was given by the Champion's Organization causing everyone to be intrigued and decide to raise it, but Bulbasaur elects both Dragonite and Leavanny to mainly raise it due to their gentle, less destructive nature and both accepted. It wasn't long however that things were slightly difficult as Dragonite constantly worried that Leavanny's leaf creations won't make it stable, but Leavanny reassure her it will be ok but when Dragonite accidently ruins them trying to make things perfect for the egg.

Leavanny snaps accidentally hurting Dragonite's feelings, and she flies off, realizing what he said, he tries to go search for her but a group of 5 Mightyena arrive set on taking the egg. Levanny prepares to fight using X-Scissor to knock out one and Leaf Blade (which he learned during Ash's time in Alola replacing Razor Leaf) to knock out the other but one Mightyena prepared to blindside him using Ice Fang but before that could land on the Nuturing Pokemon, Dragonite takes the hit and sends the Mightyena back with her strength shocking Leavanny. Drgonite apologizes about what she said and what she did, but Leavanny tells her it doesn't matter right now and wants to see if she's safe.

The other Mightyena prepare to attack but wheter if it was because Dragonite felt cold or Leavanny felt cold instead, his legs glow with blue and display a frosty feel and kicks the two Mightyena away with Triple Axel (replacing Bug Bite), the final Mightyena prepare to strike but was hit by an oncoming Megahorn from Heracross and several other Pokemon along with Oak arrive to check on them causing the Mightyena to run away. They head to the lab where Leavanny waits for Dragonite and after 3 hours of waiting at the lab with the egg, Dragonite is ok causing Leavanny to hug her and apologizing for shouting at her saying he doesn't want her to go because he likes her, after things calm down, they both blush but Dragonite accepts Levanny's feelings and agrees to watch the egg with Leavanny. This gets some cheering out of Snivy, Bayleef and Unfezant who cheer their love on but that didn't matter. To Dragonite, she found her home and someone who cares for her and decides to raise the egg as if she was a mother alongside Leavanny.

It was another beautiful day in the Paldea Region and- oh my, is it getting hot out here. I checked the weather, and it was perfectly average out, oh wait, it seems like Ash and Crispin are having their battle and it seems they brought in quite a crowd as we see Team Ash, Team Sarah and various teachers including Clavell watching the battle unfold but it seems there's another guest. We see Kieran walking alone with his Hisuian Decidueye and Rookidee carrying some files with them.

"Alright, I delivered the files to Mr. Jacq, and I didn't have to have sis guide me, so I guess I'll just enjoy the day right Decidueye? Decidueye?" Kieran says as he turns around to see his Decidueye watching the match and Kieran got curious. "Hmm, what's up Decidueye?" Kieran says as he looks to the battle at hand to see Ash stretching preparing for battle as Kieran looked on in awe over Ash.

"Ash is amazing isn't he, strong, knows how to battle and has tons of friends. Carmine is a skilled battler though her communication needs work and then there's me, someone who's shy, doesn't have a whole ton of friends and ain't a skilled battler and yet somehow, I have the Champion ranking. If only I could be like Ash." Kieran says as he watches the battle.

We see Nemona (who had Pikachu on her lap) looking on and taking notes on the battle.

"A battle between a student of Blueberry and a Naranja student, that's certainly one way of displaying school culture." Nemona says.

"Pika." Pikachu said in agreement. We see Ash thinking for a moment and thinking of a plan.

Let's see, Crispin is a Fire type trainer and Quaxwell is having a 'me day' after yesterday so I think I know who I want to use. Ash said as he finished thining to himself and turned his attention to Crispin who appeared to be psyched up.

"I hear you're a great battler, make sure you give me a good fight!" Crispin says as Ash nods.

"Sure thing and you said you were a skilled double battler so give me a good double battle!" Ash says with a smirk as Crispin nods.

"I count on it! Alright Scovillain, Torkoal, come on out!" Crispin says throwing his Quick Balls in the air releasing Torkoal and Scovillain who were prepared for battle. Torkoal launches a ball of heat from their shell into the air creating a sun in a way that was hot.

"Did it just create a ball of energy and make a sun?" Arven says as Clavell nods.

"Yes, that's it's Drought Ability allowing it to create a sun on the battlefield and lowering the power of Water moves. It's one of the many strategies of Blueberry Academy." Clavell says as Team Ash was curious.

"Strategy?" Nemona says as Clavell nods again.

"Bluebery is known for its Double Battles which are harder than just a regular battle, you need strategy and a plan to make it through and I've seen his strategies in particular. He has Torkoal set the weather which will reduce the power of Water moves and his Scovaillain has Chlorophyll allowing him to move fast in the sun." Clavell says.

"Blueberry Academy is certainly strange." Penny says as Ash picks out his two Pokemon.

"Alright Cyclizar, Incineroar let's give Crispin a good battle!" Ash says throwing them out as Cyclizar and Incineroar are prepared for the fight as Crispin looks on in awe.

"I've seen this Incineroar! That clash with that other Incineroar with that fiery conclusion, oh yes, I'm excited to battle you! You may have the first move!" Crispin says with stars in his eyes as Ash nods.

"Gladly, Incineroar, build up enough sand and use Scorching Sands!" Ash says as Incineroar nods and Incineroar creates heated dust energy from the ground and launches it towards Crispin's side.

"Alright Scovillain, counter with Flamethrower!" Crispin says as Scovillain nods and its red pepper head launches the flame attack towards the sand which creates a puff of smoke that covers the field as Crispin looks around for them.

"Keep your eyes peeled for them you two!" Crispin says as they both nod and look around.

"Alright Cyclizar, rush in and surprise them!" Ash says as Cyclizar nods and rushes in as Crispin smirks.

"It isn't much of a surprise if you're rushing towards us, clear the smoke away with Heat Wave Torkoal!" Crispin says as Torkoal launches a heatwave that blows away the smoke, but Cyclizar wasn't there until he appears right behind the Pokemon who were caught off guard.

"Use Breaking Swipe!" Ash says as Cyclizar's tail glows.

"Block it!" Crispin says as they try to block but to no avail as they were sent flying towards Incineroar.

"Use Darkest Lariat!" Ash says as Incineroar nods and prepares to strike with his spinning attack as Crispin thinks and he's got an idea.

"Quick Scovillain, land back quickly and jump in the air and Torkoal use Rapin Spin!" Crispin says as they nod and Scovillain rushes back to the ground and quickly jumps really high thanks to its Chlorophyll boosting its speed while Torkoal spins blocking the attack from Darkest Lariat and is sent spinning around until Scovillain prepares to land back. "Now for a Zen Headbutt on the shell!" Crispin says as Scovillain nods and hits the spinning Pokemon sending it flying towards Incineroar who staggers a bit and to Cyclizar who didn't notice the spinning Torkoal coming at him, and they fall to the ground as Torkoal stopped spinning.

The crowd and Kieran looked on in awe over the battle and Ash and Crispin looked impressed over each other's skills.

"I must admit that strategy of using Scorching Sands and attacking from behind was pretty fire if I say." Crispin says as Ash smirks.

"Thanks, and you keeping your movement going with Torkoal's Rapid Spin and using Zen Headbutt to keep the momentum going is something interesting." Ash says as Kieran looked on in awe and took notes.

"Even during a battle, Ash is focused, strategic, and having fun. I should try being more like that and strategic right you two?" Kieran says as Decidueye and Rookidee nod.

"Alright then, Scovillain use Solar Beam!" Crispin says as Scovillain nods and its green pepper head launches a beam of light that's boosted by the sun allowing it to launch it's Solar Beam right away as Ash needed to think and nodded.

"Incineroar, use Fire Blast!" Ash says as Incineroar created a fiery star and hits it sending it flying towards the Solar Beam creating another puff of smoke, but it seemed Crispin was expecting it as he didn't appear worried.

"Torkoal Heat Wave!" Crispin says as Torkoal launched a Heat Wave towards the smoke clearing it away and pushing back, "Now for a Solar Beam Scovillain!" Crispin follows up with a Solar Beam as it launches a beam of light towards the two as Ash had to think of something.

"Hmmm, Incineroar use Darkest Lariat!" Ash calls out as Incineroar spins fastly with the beam hitting the spinning Cyclizar but seemingly not hurting him surprising Crispin.

"Roar, Roar!" Incineroar said to Cyclizar who nods and covers himself in electricity getting Ash's attention.

"What's up now, you want to use Wild Charge?" Ash says as Cyclizar nods and points to Incineroar, "You want use the move on Incineroar!?" Ash says as Cyclizar nods and was unsure, but Ash looks to Cyclizar who looks sure about this as if he has a plan and Ash reluctantly sighs.

"Alright then, use Wild Charge to push Incineroar!" Ash says surprising the crowd as Cyclizar rushes towards the spinning Incineroar hitting him and sending him towards the Solar Beam before proceeding to jump in the air as Crispin looks surprised but Ash smirks. "Now for a Flame Charge!" Ash says as Incineroar's body starts to be covered head to toe with flames and rushing down at the two opposing Pokemon as Crispin struggles to think of a plan.

"I guess it's all or nothing, Torkoal Flare Blitz!" Crispin says as Torkoal nods and launches himself towards Incineroar's Flame Charge and both collide and create a puff of smoke as the crowd watched on as the smoke cleared to reveal both Pokemon knocked out as the crowd looked on surprised.

"That was certainly a surprise, Cyclizar using Wild Charge to push Incineroar's Darkest Lariat towards the opposing Pokemon during Heat Wave and finishing it off with a boosted Flame Charge thanks to Wild Charge!? Was this Ash's plan!?" Nemona says as Clavell shrugs.

"Who knows, this is Ash we're talking about. The guy who has many a strategy on the spot so who knows." Clavell says as Kieran looked on in awe at a distance.

"Strategies, he's much better than me." Kieran said a bit sad as Decidueye as Rookiedee pat him on the back.

"Decidueye." Decidueye said encouragingly as Kieran sighs.

"I know, dad told me I should be proud as myself as a trainer and individual but still, everyone expects me to be so strong as a Champion trainer, but I feel forced into this role." Kieran says as sadly as the battle raged on, Incineroar and Torkoal returned to their respective trainers to be praised by them/

"You were amazing out there Torkoal, we'll do our best next time!" Crispin says as Torkoal nods.

"Koal!"

"You were also amazing out there; we'll have to more battles in the future!" Ash says to a smirking Incineroar.

"Roar!"

Both trainers look back at their remaining Pokemon who prepared for battle as Crispin looks up to see the Torkoal's artificial sun almost gone as he nods to himself.

I better hurry this up before the sun disappears. Crispin thinks to himself.

"Use Solar Beam!" Crispin says as Scovillain nods and launches a beam of light towards Cyclizar.

"Rapid Spin!" Ash says as Cyclizar nods and spins to not let the beam fully hit him but as he starts to stop spinning, Crispin sees this and wasn't going to let Ash have another chance.

"Alright Scovillain, use Zen Headbutt and quickly as Cyclizar stops spinning!" Crispin says as Scovillain nods and rushes quickly with his Chlorophyll ability towards Cyclizar who was about to stop spinning as Ash gritted his teeth.

"Quick use Breaking Swipe!" Ash says as but Crispin smirks.

"No, you don't!" Crispin says as Scovillain striked but Cyclizar dodges unable to strike with his tail or do anything else.

"Rapid Spin!" Ash says as Cyclizar attempted to spin but Crispin had another idea.

"Stomping Tantrum." Crispin said as Scovillain stomps on the ground making Cyclizar stumble and allowing Crispin and Scovillain another opportunity, "Use Zen Headbutt!" Crispin says as Scovillain rushes at Cyclizar with a glowing pink head and bashes Cyclizar sending him flying.

"Cyclizar!" Ash yells out as Crispin smirks.

"Alright time for Solar Beam!" Crispin says as Scovillain nods and prepares to launch a solar blast towards Cyclizar as Ash had to think of something and thought of a plan.

"Use Rapid Spin on the ground!" Ash says as Scovillain nods and starts to spin building up dust that blocks the view of Scovillain and delays his Solar Beam surprising Crispin.

"What!?" Crispin says as he looks up to see the sun disappears and starts to panic, "Oh no, without the sun, Scovillain can't finish that Solar Beam. Scovillain behind you!" Crispin yells out as Cyclizar appears behind Scovillain but due to the Solar Beam, it had a slow reaction in turning allowing Cyclizar to strike with power as its right claw starts to glow and everyone takes notice including Ash.

"Wow, that's - alright then, Cyclizar use Dragon Claw!" Ash says as Cyclizar prepares to use his newly learned Dragon Claw and slices at Scovillain sending him back at full force but Scovillain was about to launch one last attack before fainting.

"Scovillain!" Crispin yelled out as Scovillain's green head launched a powerful Solar Beam towards Cylizar sending him flying towards the ground and Scovillai soon falls to the ground as well. Things were silent as everyone waited for the results and just as people assumed both were knocked out, Cyclizar makes a miraculous recovery and through his fatigue manages to get up but to everyone's surprise again, Scovillain gets up with all their might as well.

"Cyclizar/Scovillain, you're both up!" Ash and Crispin said in shock as they both came into an understanding. "Your Cyclizar is certainly impressive, he managed to survive a hit from Scovillain's Solar Beam and not just because it wasn't very effective, your Cyclizar must've been fatigued at that point." Crispin says as Ash goes to Cyclizar's side and helps pick him up and Crispin does the same for his Scovillain.

"It must be our training together and your Scovillain managing to let out that last ditch attack while also being very speedy with Chlorophyll is amazing and you managed to hold out your own i 1!" Ash says as Crispin smirks.

"It comes with adapting to Blueberry Academy; I think we consider this battle a draw don't you agree?" Crispin says as Ash nods and both shake hands along with Scovillain shaking Cyclizar's hand as the crowd cheers and Kieran looks on in awe and amazement towards the battle.

"Ash is incredible. Alright, I need to learn from him about how he fights so I can get better!" Kieran says as his Pokemon nod, and he begins to write a letter.

Everyone clears out of the field leaving only Ash, his friends, Crispin and Clavell.

"That was an excellent display of Blueberry Academy's battle style Mr. Sparks and I hope you can come back again to display your style." Clavell says as Crispin nods.

"It's no problem." Crispin says as Ash looks to him.

"So, what's your plan now?" Ash asks.

"Well, I'm heading back to Unova, I have a title to defend, and I can't miss my studies and the sale of new ingredients for my recipes. But I'll make sure to put in a good word with my principal over your battle skills, he'll be very delighted to hear about your adventures." Crispin says as Ash smirks and nods before Crispin waves goodbye and heads off.

"Well, I should've told him that you would need your privacy but judging that look, I can tell that you're interested. Well, let's wait on that till the future, what's your plans now you four?" Clavell says as Penny steps forward.

"Well, we're planning on leaving for Artazon tomorrow while also stopping in Mirage Town for Ash to face Rika. For today however, I'm thinking of heading over to Hassel's new art exhibition at Town Square, I hear he's hosting an art contest." Penny says as Arven overhears it and gets interested.

"Can food be art?" Arven says as Penny nods.

"If you put your mind to it." Penny says.

"Alright, I'm going to the art exhibition too." Arven says as Ash doesn't appear sure what to do but before he could say anything, a Rookidee comes flying in Ash's direction holding a letter catching everyone's attention.

"Hmm, a Rookidee?" Nemona says as Ash grabs the letter.

"Wonder who it's from?" Arven says as Penny appears suspicious.

"Hopefully not a secret admirer." Penny says as Ash opens the letter and reads it.

"Dear Ash, could you come to Type Circle, I need to tell you something important and have a battle, from scribbles, P.S: Carmine isn't there." Ash says as everyone gets confused, "Scribbles?" Ash says.

"Here let me see that please." Clavell said as Ash hands him the letter and Clavell gets a moment of realization. "Oh, this is Kieran, he writes his name in cursive when it comes to letters and draws a cute little doodle of himself and Rookiedee." Clavell said interesting Ash.

"He wants to have a battle with me? I guess another battle with a Champion ranked trainer should be interesting." Ash says as Nemona appeared intrested.

"I think I might come by and watch." Nemona says as Clavell softly smiles.

"Well, don't go overwhelming him now, you all have a good day." Clavell says as the they all disperse and go off to their activities.

We see Ash, Pikachu, Nemona and Pawmo walking down the stairs of Naranja Academy with Ash curious to Kieran's battle style and his status as a Champion-ranked trainer while Nemona is dreading the thought of encountering Carmine again or if Ash has to confront Carmine.

"I've battled one Champion-ranked trainer thus far; I wonder what Kieran's like? Have you seen him battle before Nemona?" Ash asks as Nemona tries to think.

"Well, other than him sending out his Decidueye to stop his sister, no I haven't. I do know he's pretty reserved when it comes to public battles and mainly battles from the side and just focuses on school and observing other battles. Now that you think of it, he said that he was doing Gym Battles which is rare amongst Champion ranked trainers." Nemona said as Ash got intrigued.

"Didn't I hear that some Champion-ranked trainers get their ranks other than battling the Top Champion, I got mine through recommendation from the Masters 8 while some can get theirs through noble accomplishments." Ash says as Nemona nods.

"Yes, that is true, but Kieran is a bit mysterious as the official records don't show how he's got his, but he got his ranking a year ago when an unspecified student left but it's unknown how Kieran got his other than a supposed 'accomplishment'. Either way I've heard that Carmine has challenged all 8 Gyms around 2 years ago so that's how she got her ranking but Kieran, who knows?" Nemona says as Ash nods, but he gets curious about another thing.

"So do you know what the other Champion-ranked trainers around the school system are like?" Ash says as Nemona giggles.

"I figured you would ask that. Well, I've only heard snippets of them, and other than the Herschel siblings, I've only met 1 other ranked trainer technically 3 counting Naranja's 2 previous trainers. We had two previous Champion-ranked trainers here named Orion and Nebu, both of whom graduated around May and thus had to give up their titles, but they were excellent trainers and as a result, they've been given the Legendary Champion title." Nemona says as Ash and Pikachu got intrigued.

"Legendary Champion?"

"Essentially a legacy title, those ranked trainers who've accomplished a lot as a Champion-ranked trainer to the point that they're given their title after they step down from their role and having the benefits of a Champion-ranked trainer despite no longer being one. Platano academy has only 1 Champion ranked trainer named Destello, a photography student but they're getting a 2nd trainer apparently, he's a Pokemon Coordinator native to Paldea that caught Platano's eyes at a Pokemon coordinator thing and might be joining soon."

"A Pokemon coordinator eh, interesting." Ash says as Nemona continues.

"Next is Manzana who also has two and their names are Mikon and Ringo respectively, but I don't know much about them other than that. Ever heard of a Region called Kitakami?" Nemona asks Ash who shakes his head. "It's a rather small Region below Sinnoh that was more behind the times due to their isolation until around either 150, 120 or 80 years ago from what I've heard and didn't initially have a Champion or a Champion ranking system until around 40 years ago when they entered into a sister School agreement between Momolocoton and the Paldea school system and our good relationship beforehand thus, they have a Top Champion as their main Champion and two Champion ranked trainers similar to us. From what I've heard, they earn their rankings via a series of trials where they have to face some Oni trainers and their trials, somthing like that. We have Peche, a half-Kalosian, half-Kitakamian trainer who I've met due to her father owning a Kalosian fruit company that moved to Kitakami, and my father owns a stock in his company, their daughter is dating the other Champion ranked trainer of Kitakami and the child of the Top Champion, Hikaru Oda." Nemona says as Ash nods.

"Good relationship?" Ash asked as Nemona nods.

"Yeah, our founder Agrumes following his return to the Paldea Region, founded Naranja and Platano while his brother Raisen founded Uva and Manzana. In Agrumes's later years in fact, 4 years before he passed at 97, he went on a quest to help establish connections with other Regions following him and Raisin founding the schools and while exploring to reach the Sinnoh Region, he was isolated on Kitakami with his crew separated, he was rescued by 4 ambassadors of the Sinnoh Region named Kamado, who helped established Jubilife City and thanks to a strong-willed boy named Satori, he helped see that Pokemon aren't all terrible and with an older Satori's help, he decided to establish connections with other Regions as well while Satori wanted to show that people and Pokemon can get along. The two other ambassadors are heads of two respective clans named Adaman and Irida who went with Kamado and Satori and encountered Agrumes- Ash you ok?" Nemona asks as Ash is processing it all in his head as Pikachu pokes Ash's head with his tail.

"Yeah, just processing it, keep going." Ash says as Nemona nods.

"Having the same goal, Agrumes and Kamado went further down in Kitakami and found his crew being held captive by the Mossui Town Shogun named Omo for trespassing and seeing that Agrumes, Satori and Kamado had their Pokemon in their Pokeballs got Omo curious and after a back-and-forth conversation about their cultures and how people and Pokemon interacted with each other like they're friends and not tools, it took a month but Omo was convinced that they needed to modernize but it took a long while until they could fully do so but some of the history isn't taught to us hence why I wasn't sure how long that was ago but it was around after they left that they've began to modernize and establish Momolocoton initially Momo Academy then Momolocoton after Agrumes sealed the partnership and well, the rest was history." Nemona says as Ash still was trying to process all that and Nemona decided to continue.

"Lastly, Blueberry Academy, our other sister school is the only one to have 5 Champion ranked trainers, the Elite Four and their Top Champion who I assume you know about because of your time with Crispin yesterday am I right?" Nemona says as Ash nods and Nemona smiles, "And that's the basic rundown of the Champion ranked Trainers of the 3 Regions and a history lesson, hope you memorized Kitakami because it will be in a future test." Nemona teased as Ash panicked and Nemona giggled.

They eventually reach Type Circle and began searching around for Kieran wondering where he was.

"Hmm, I wonder where he's supposed to be by now?" Ash says as he heard huffing noises in the distance and sees Kieran and his Rookidee going towards Ash and Pikachu appearing a bit tired.

"Sorry about the wait, I had to get some churros." Kieran says as Ash nods in understanding.

"Must be eager to battle me, are you?" Ash says with energy in his voice.

"Pika!" Pikachu said agreeing with his trainer as Kieran nervously chuckles.

"Hehehe, yeah. Actually, I need your help with something? Please, please, please teach me how to battle!" Kieran says surprising Ash and Nemona who look on shocked at what Kieran says.

"Wait what now?" Ash says confused as Kieran rubs the back of his head.

"Well- um, it's best that I start from the beginning." Kieran says as he walks to a bench with Ash and Nemona following behind, he takes a deep breath and sits down, "Ok, here's the thing. You may know that I have a Champion-ranking, it was kind of forced onto me." Kieran says as Ash and Nemona were curious.

"Forced onto you?" both Ash and Nemona say as Kieran nods.

"That's right, well, let me start off from another point. You may or may not know but my father was the previous Top Champion/Headmaster of Paldea and being the children of a famous Champion, me and Carmine had Status to be popular in Uva Academy but me and dad preferred the more reserved style of our life like back home in Mossui Town and making friends the simple way while sis adores the spotlight and friends she got because of her fame and-" Kieran was stopped by Nemona who appeared surprised by the last part of Kieran's sentence.

"Wait, did you say that you and Carmine are from Mossui Town?" Nemona says as Kieran nods before realizing why she asked that.

"Oh, right. Glad sis isn't here to hear this next part. You see, she hated living back home in the Kitakami Region, not that she hated it, she appreciates the landscape, our grandparents and our lore but she hated how small and isolated it was, no opportunity for adventure and the feeling of isolation got to Carmine and eventually felt happy about living in Paldea as it provided an opportunity for her to do Gym Battles, face other strong trainers and explore a larger environment and it got to the point where she considers Paldea her home compared to Kitakami." Kieran says as Nemona gritted her teeth.

That no-good lying, two-faced, annoying, little- jerkface, rival that's full of Tauros- Nemona's thoughts keep going as Ash and Pawmo patted her back in understanding and Kieran sighed getting Nemona's attention.

"Wait, if your the child of the chairman and are from Kitakami, does that mean your-"

"Half Galarian, half-Kitakamian? Yes." Kieran says as Nemona continued to have frustrated thoughts about Carmine's hypocritical thoughts.

That stupid little, hypocritical, smart alec, queen-like little b- Nemona continued to have these thoughts until she sees Kieran's sad expression.

"I apologize if my sister hurt you enough to despise her, but I hope you don't think that I like that or she felt like that before, she was just caught up in the love of being in Paldea and her not wanting anyone to surpass her that she decided to act that way." Kieran says as Nemona sighs.

"I'm sorry for making you feel like that Kieran, I guess I was kind of angry." Nemona says as Kieran shook his hands.

"No, no! Don't blame yourself, I don't blame you. Anyway, I got the Champion-ranking after one of our student's stepped down from his title, but I didn't do anything to earn it, I've done good deeds helping oldsters across the street, but I don't think simple tasks are the reasons for earning the rank but considering how sis is what you call a 'top student' to our Uva headmaster Phyllus, maybe she lied and said I was a good battler but that feels like-" Kieran mumbles on nervously causing his Decidueye to come out of his Pokeball to pat him on the back allowing Kieran to calm down and he smiles patting Decidueye's head. "Thanks, Decidueye." Kieran says as Decidueye nods, Ash and Nemona are starting to piece together what Kieran's going through.

"So essentially, you were forced into the role as a Champion-ranked Trainer despite your lack of battle experience thus you need some help when it comes to battling right?" Ash says as Kieran's eyes sparkle and nods.

"Yes, that's exactly right! I'm not like my sister, I'm shy, I get pushed around a lot and I'm not a good battler compared to you, Nemona or Carmine which is why I decided to go earn my Gym badges in the first place so I could feel like a strong trainer and yet, it still feels like I'm not up to that level. That's why I wanted to ask if you could help me, teach me your basics, your strategies, so I can improve on myself!" Kieran asks as Ash was stunned and thought about it.

"Well, let's see what Pokemon you're working with, I'm sure you have plenty of powerful Pokemon with you." Ash says surprising Kieran, but he nods grabbing 5 other Pokeballs.

"Alright then, come on out all of you!" Kieran says as his Pokemon come out revealing several Pokemon and his Decidueye goes with them. From left to right, we have Florges, Hisuian Decidueye, Tepig, Deino, Gligar and a Rhyperior definitely getting Ash and Nemona's attentions and confusing Nemona about something.

"Isn't your Rookidee one of your Pokemon as well?" Nemona says as Kieran nods.

"Yes, but he's not really a battler and doesn't like to be in his Pokeball so he sticks around on my shoulder." Kieran says as Ash kept looking at his Pokemon causing Kieran to panic.

"I have more Pokemon at my Pokemon Box if you don't think they're strong enough." Kieran said nervously as Ash shakes his head and an idea appears in his head.

"Say Kieran? Do you like Pokemon?" Ash asked surprising Kieran and nods.

"Of course! Pokemon are amazing! Actually, there's a story I want to tell but it might be long, so I'll give you the jist. In my home region of Kitakami, there's a story of a Pokemon we dub the 'Ogre', who is said to frighten the villagers and one day, they came down to the village in a rage and defeated 3 Pokemon who defended the village before they ran off. It's not the rage I'm influenced by, they might have their reasons but I'm more influenced by their strength and independence, their ability to stand up to the toughest of foes which is why I became a trainer, I wanted to become stronger and more independent like the Ogre and maybe find them one day but as you can see, I only have 3 fully evolved Pokemon with me and 4 fully evolved Pokemon in total and I need to work with my both fully evolved and the early stages so we can get stronger together." Kieran says as Ash and Nemona looked intrigued.

"That sounds like a good reason to get stronger but let me ask you this, do you trust in them?" Ash asks once more as Kieran was surprised and nods as Ash smiles.

"Then that's your first step in Pokemon training, you got to trust in your Pokemon's abilities." Ash says as Kieran nods.

"Oh, like Flame Body and Prankster?" Kieran says happily as Ash shook his head.

"No, not those 'Abilities', you Pokemon's natural abilities, their skills in battle. They may seem weak at first but really, it's the trainer that has to work together with their Pokemon in order to make it through. Take me for instance, Pikachu here may not appear strong compared to his evolution Raichu but me and Pikachu traveled to so many places and went through many battles that we overcame overtime. The point being, you got to trust in your Pokemon's natural abilities, skills and even personality because although they are maybe different from you at times, you can overcome these difficult problems by working with your Pokemon." Ash says as Kieran's eyes sparkle.

"Are you saying what I think you're saying?" Kieran says as Ash brings out his right hand.

"How would you like to train under me?" Ash says as Kieran nods and shakes his hand.

"Of course!" Kieran said excitedly. Meanwhile, Carmine (who was disguised with a large sun hat and glasses) was sitting at a nearby cafe table with her Samurott by her side as she looked on skepticism over Ash and Kieran.

"That trainer thinks he can teach my brother better than me? Let's watch them for now and see how it goes right Samurott?" Carmine says rubbing Samurott's chin.

"Samu!" she said.

Meanwhile, we see Penny, her Sprigatito and Arven and his Sneasel at some sort of art show at a museum where tons of people were gathered around, and everyone looked on in awe as Hassel, Professor Gible and a Charcadet with blue eyes took the stands and it seems like one freckled girl in a hoodie and her Infernape took some interest.

"Good morning, everyone, it's so nice to see everyone here in high spirits especially those who were getting back from a Treasure Hunt, I thank you for making a clear schedule for Mezagoza's 100th anniversary art show where we display many of our talented arts, isn't that right Professor Gible?" Hassel said happily.

"Gib, Gib!" Professor Gible said as Hassel nodded and so did everyone else approving of Professor Gible's message.

"Thank you Professor Gible, you always know what to say. I hope you all enjoy the show, and we got a special announcement, we decided that we want to hear your artful voices too so in 4 hours time, we will be hosting a last-minute art show to display everyone's arts but there might be a special reward if your art is ranked the best amongst the judges, you'll have a special lesson with me and Professor Gible about art." Hassel says as the crowd immidetly disperse to get to work and leaving just Arven, Penny, the hooded girl and their Pokemon.

"An art show eh, I'm not the most skilled artist if we're not talking about my shipping art. What about you Arven?" Penny asks as Arven thinks.

"Well, I'm not the most skill- wait a minute, did you say something about shipping art?" Arven said distracted by that comment as Penny blushes.

"No! What were you talking about!?" Penny says as Arven shrugs, the hooded girl passes by accidently bumping into Arven.

"Oh sorry." the girl said softly before running off but accidently drops something while running with her Infernape.

"Oh no prob- wait, is that?" Arven says as he sees a small Charcadet toy meant for a keyring and picks it up getting Penny's attention.

"What's up, know that girl, is she your crush?" Penny teased as Arven shivered.

"No, not- not like that. Every day over summer break, I see this girl practice her drawing skills in a wide-open art space and an art building and through the window, I see her paint while also kind of dancing in a freeflow style painting one side of a wall but every time I see her paint, she always seems to be at that first wall with two pictures of sorts." Arven says as Penny got intrigued.

"What's that picture like?" Penny says as Arven tries to remember.

"Well, it seemed like the first picture was of a young red headed girl at the bottom of the stairs seemingly plagued by what appear to be demons trying to grab her that have red hair as well and what appeared to be 3 shadowy girls laughing at her while the 2nd picture was 7 arms reaching out from the top of the stairs with the 6th being a Rotom arm and the 7th appearing like a Charcadet's but that's about it." Arven says as Penny looks at the toy and gets curious.

"What's the toy?" Penny says as Arven shrugs.

"Fell out of her pocket or something, maybe she's still nearby?" Arven says as both trainers and their Pokemon go to investigate, Hassel overhears this and starts to get concerned.

"Red haired girl, could she be Pimenter?" Hassel says to himself as the blue eyed Charcadet runs off upon hearing that name, but Hassel stops him, "Wait! I know your excited but at least hold on!" Hassel says but Charcadet slips away causing Hassel to follow the Fire Child Pokemon leaving only Professor Gible here and some people and Pokemon in the audience who were patiently waiting as Gible got nervous, but an idea came to his head. He grabs the nearby microphone and lowers it to his level and pulls out some papers.

"Gib, Gib, Gible, Gib, Ble Ble, Gible, Gib, Gib, Gible." Professor Gible says as the audience starts to nod and snap their fingers in approval as Gible nods and keeps reading switching his professor hat for a black beret and continues reading. This also seems to catch the attention of a disguised TR who were interested.

"My, those words, they're just beautiful!" Meowth says confusing the two.

"What do you mean old chum?" James asks.

"It's Gible's poetry!" Meowth says which confuses Jessie but gets James intrigued.

"It's just a Gible saying its name, how is it poetry?" Jessie says as Meowth and James appeared shocked.

"You need to listen to not what it's saying, but their soul and their emotion with each word they put out!" Meowth says as TR began to listen to Poet Gible's poetry.

We see Arven guiding Penny to the art studio in question, which was a large, rectangular white building with a Grafaiai and Smeargle logos.

"This is the place, Artes y manualidades." Arven says as Penny smirked.

"So, this is where you'll be confessing your love to the girl?" Penny says as Arven shivers up.

"This isn't a confession! There she is!" Arven says as both trainers look through the window to see the girl again with her Infernape and Coalossal out as she breathes in and moves swiftly like a leaf twirling around continuing to paint the stairs and the sad little girl in the first picture, the girl looking up to the hands in the 2nd picture but it seemed like the 3rd picture would be different as she paints the girl and it seems like the girl is about to run up the stairs with those shadowy figure attempting to follow her but the hooded girl stops out of frustration seemingly conflicted about something as Arven and Penny walk into the building.

"Damn it! Why can't I think of anything for these next pictures, if I want my friends to see my artistic vision, I need to work hard on it but-" the girl said frustratingly as she couldn't think of any words as Infernape pats her back and she calms down. "Thanks, Infernape, you know how to calm my nerves. Back to work-" the girl didn't finish as she heard knocking at the door frustrating the girl.

"Who could it be, I already paid for my roo- oh!" the girl said as she tips over and Arven rushes in to catch her. The girl is dizzy for a bit before looking up to see in her eyes a handsome prince-like figure and a beautiful princess next to him as the hooded girl blushes.

"You alright?" Arven asks as the girl blushes and nods before shaking her head and pushing him away and blushing madly.

"I didn't ask for help you beautiful, beautiful brats! What are you doing here anyway!?" the girl said in a stubborn tone as the two looked at the art admiring the art.

"Oh, we came by because we liked your art and wanted to see, also you dropped this." Arven says holding the Charcadet toy as she grabs it from him but looks stunned.

"You guys, like my art?" the hooded girl said in disbelief.

"No one liked your art?" Penny says as the girl got a vein on her head.

"Of course, not- no. They just don't care about me, people think I'm a demon or that I run a group of bullies, my parents never really thought of my existence so when I heard you two chumps say that my art was good, I was certainly shocked." the girl said calming down as both trainers looked at her with sympathy.

"That's awful." Penny says.

"You bet it is, everytime I try to prove myself capable, there will always seem to be people that put me down." the hooded girl said as Infernape grabbed what looked to be a giant piece of paper but ripped apart showing only the head of a read haired girl and some drawings of a tree leaving Arven, Penny and their Pokemon impressed.

"This artwork, it's-" Arven didn't finish as the girl interrupted.

"Ripped apart? Yeah, I know. This artwork was supposed to be my magnum opus and something that could impress my art teacher but around 9 months ago, Jessica Burberry and her two lacking lackeys destroyed my artwork over superiority, leaving me to run off and hide and since then, I've worked on my artwork in secret." the girl said as Penny's right arm shakes with angry while Arven looked disappointed.

"Jessica Burberry? That's that one girl who's the daughter of some electronics company, I hear she's a mean girl who rules some of Mesagoza and puts down others who aren't like her rich crew. Hmm, Penny?" Arven says as Penny appeared angry.

"That's horrible! Didn't you tell someone about this!?" Penny said as the hooded girl looked away sadly.

"Even if I did try to tell someone, they would likely brush me away for being a nuisance." the girl said as Penny grabs the girl's hands in reassurance causing the hooded girl to blush. "What the-"

"How could you say that they don't care about you!? No one should have to go through this sort of thing!" Penny says surprising the girl.

"You care? There are thousands of others and yet you care for me?" the girl said in disbelif as Penny nods.

"Of course, I've seen many others who go through this sort of thing and it's unfair, they've done nothing to the bullies and yet they hurt them because they need an 'outlet' and the adults just don't focus on the issues at hand when it comes to us. I don't want to see anyone else go through despair because of what they're going through!" Penny says surprising Arven and the hooded girl.

"Penny." Arven said in disbelief while the hooded girl had a tear in her eye.

"To think I met you chumps 6 minutes ago and you're already inspiring me. How would you like to help me out with this project?" the girl said intriguing Penny and Arven.

"You want us to help you? But we're not even artists." Arven says as the hooded girl softly smiled.

"You don't have to be, anyone can create art even if they're not an artist, it usually takes skill and your Pokemon look like they have the skills and moves needed for my artwork." the hooded girl said as she grabbed some red paint and a large blank piece of paper confusing the two trainers.

"What do you mean by th-" the two trainers didn't have time to finish their sentence as the hooded girl smirks.

"Hope you have some interesting moves to defend against this attack!" the girl yelled out throwing red paint in the air as both trainers panicked as Sprigatito and Morada went in front of their trainers to defend them.

"Sprigatito Leafage!" Penny yelled out as Sprigatito launched multiple leaves towards the paint's direction like a spiral which covered the paper with red, painted slash-like marks while Morada jumped to deal with the rest of the paint.

"Morada use Metal Claw!" Arven yelled out as Morad jumped and slashed at the paint as she slashed at the paper creating a red, painted slash effect that intrigued the hooded girl.

"You guys were perfect." the hooded girl said as Arven and Penny stared at her with a deadpan expression.

"That was insane!" both Arven and Penny said as they got to work. Meanwhile outside the door, Hassel and Charcadet overhear the conversation worrying Hassel as he slid down the door and sat down reflecting on himself.

That is her, Mela Pimenter. And she's back in town. Hassel thought to himself sadly seemingly having some connection to her.

We switch back to Ash to see Kieran preparing to train with Ash with Kieran using orange flower Florges and Ash using Pikachu while the rest of their Pokemon watched from the sides and so did Nemona and her Pokemon who were taking notes while Carmine continued to watch from the cafe with her Samurott.

"Alright Kieran, we're going to go 3 rounds with each round focusing on your Pokemon and it will be there where I'll critque you on your skills and provide guidance on what to do. We'll also have a ful with your other Pokemon to test what you learned so pay close attention alright Kieran?" Ash says as Kieran nods.

"Right! I'll do my best! Ready Florges?" Kieran asks.

"Flor." she said as Ash nods.

"I'll let you have the first move." Ash says as Kieran nods.

"Alright, Florges use Trailblaze!" Kieran says as Florges nods and rushes towards Pikachu with a bloom of flowers following behind as Ash observes.

So far, everything's normal, guess it's time to kick it up a notch. Ash thought to himself as he calls on his first move. "Slam your Iron Tail to the ground to create dust!" Ash yelled out as Pikachu nods and slams his metallicized tail to the ground creating a huge dust storm that gets into Florges's eyes causing her to not see anything as Kieran panics.

"Oh no Florges!" Kieran yells out as Ash remains calm.

"Now go through the dust!" Ash says as Pikachu nods and rushes through the storm as Kieran tries to see where Pikachu is.

"If I just try to find Pikachu, I can try to attack him. Quick, keep using Trailblaze until you find Pikachu!" Kieran yells out as Florges nods and rushes through the storm trying to find Pikachu to no avail until Pikachu jumps in the air behind Florges. "Quick use Chilling Water!" Kieran yells out but it was too late as Ash adapts to it.

"Quick Attack!" Ash says as Pikachu rushes at Florges sending her back by a huge margin and clearing the dust. "You need to adapt to the scenario and use your Pokemon's moves other than for attacking." Ash says as Kieran got intrigued and confused.

"What do you mean?" Kieran asks as Ash nods.

"Well, just now, Pikachu used Iron Tail on the ground to create a dust storm, that's using a move that you may think is just for attack but can be used for so much more so for instance, Nemona's Pawmo uses Dig to fool his opponents and even blindside them when both Nemona and Pawmo have the chance or that Quaxwell uses Rapid Spin to build up speed first or can use it for another dust storm or reflection like attack in a way, does it make sense?" Ash says as Kieran nods.

"Yeah, I think I get it, let's try again!" Kieran says as Ash nods.

"Right, Pikachu, use Iron Tail!" Ash says as Pikachu nods and rushes towards Florges as Kieran panics again.

WHATDOIDO? WHATDOIDO? WHATDOIDO? WHATDOI- Wait, that's it. Kieran thought to himself as he remained determined, "Florges use Trailblaze to dodge the attack!" Kieran yelled out as Florges nods and dodges the next couple of hits as Ash and Nemona looked impressed, and Ash sees another opportunity.

"Now that's a way to use a move, Trailblaze to avoid the attack is genius but can you prepare for another Iron Tail from above!?" Ash says as Pikachu jumped in the air but Kieran felt prepared that time and called out a move.

"Not this time, Trailblaze to avoid it!" Kieran yelled out as Florges dodged but Ash smirked.

"Gotcha ya! Slam your tail!" Ash says as Kieran was confused until Pikachu slams his tail to the ground creating another dust storm as Kieran remained focused and Florges searched around, Florges turned to her trainer, but Kieran remained calm.

"Stay there and don't attack!" Kieran yelled out as Pikachu rushed through the dust storm and Florges remained calm until he sees Pikachu's tail through the dust storm meaning he's preparing to attack and Kieran nods.

"Pikachu, Iron Tail!" Ash yelled out as Pikachu jumps but Kieran focused and moved quickly.

"Dazzling Gleam to blind Pikachu!" Kieran yelled out as Florges creates a bright glowing light and flashes it towards Pikachu blinding him and missing his attack allowing Florges to not be hit as both Ash and Pikachu remained impressed.

"That's some good coordination there with you and Florges. Do you think you're getting the hang of this?" Ash asks as Kieran got nervous and shook his head as Ash softly smiles, "That's alright, these things take time, but it seems like you're doing well. Let's start round 2, Pikachu, could you switch with Tinkatink please?" Ash says as he rubs Pikachu's cheek and he nods as he rushes over to tell Tinkatink to switch and she nods, rushing to the battlefield. "Ready Tinkatink?" Ash says with encouragement as she nods.

"Thank you Florges, get some rest, could you get Deino over here?" Kieran says as she nods and floats over to Deino who happily walks over to Kieran prepared for battle.

"Dei, Dei!" Deino said happily as Nemona was confused.

"Isn't it super weak against Fairy Types and their Dragon moves not having effectiveness though?" Nemona says as Ash nods.

"Yes, but we'll try not to be too hard this time. Plus, even with an immunity, one can use Dragon moves to their advantage at times and have other moves to counter an opponent's weakness." Ash says as Nemona nods and writes this own in her notepad.

"Alright, Kieran, you may have the first move again." Ash says as Kieran nods.

"Alright Deino, use Thunder Fang!" Kieran says as Deino nods and her jaw glows and rushes towards Tinkatink as she prepared to defend herself but strangely, Deino wasn't focused on Tinkatink and 'missed' her attack confusing everyone including her trainer. "Sorry, let me try again. Deino use Thunder Fang!" Kieran says as Deino again, rushes toward her target with glowing electric fangs but 'misses' again causing Kieran to worry.

"Deino, what's wrong, do we need to clear your eyes?" Kieran says as Ash began putting the pieces together.

"Say Kieran, what's Deino's Ability?" Ash asks as Kieran thinks.

"Its Ability is Hustle, why?" Kieran asks as Ash nods.

"You need to take account their Abilities as well. Hustle boosts the Pokemon's physical power but lowers their accuracy." Ash says as Kieran panics.

"Does that mean I need Deino to have a new Ability?" Kieran panicked as Ash shook his head.

"No, you can adapt to Deino's Ability, but you need to focus and cooperate with your Pokemon is order to make it through." Ash said encouraging Kieran as the boy nodded.

"Right, we can try to do this again!" Kieran says as Deino nods and Ash smirks and nods.

"Right, Tinkatink, use Metal Claw!" Ash says as Tinkatink rushes towards Deino as her rattle glows and Kieran prepares himself.

"Deino, dodge!" Kieran yelled out as Deino prepared to dodge as she avoids Tinkatink's hits and nearly gets hit but manages to be swift on time as Ash looked impressed towards Kieran's skills and Kieran appeared to be happy with even Carmine showing some sort of soft smile. "That's the spirit Deino, keep at it!" Kieran yelled out as Ash had a new plan.

"Alright Tinkatink, charge your Rock Smash!" Ash says as Tinkatink nods and throws her rattle real high in the air charging it with red aura before throwing it real high in the air confusing Kieran.

"What the-" Kieran said in disbelief but Ash sees an opportunity.

"Don't get distracted now, go for it and use Draining Kiss!" Ash yelled out as Tinkatink nodded and rushed towards Deino with her lips glowing as Deino panics.

"Quick jump left!" Kieran yells out as Deino jumps out of the way avoiding the attack and he breathes a sigh of relief until the rattle comes flying back down and Ash sees an opportunity.

"Now for Rock Smash!" Ash yelled out as Tinkatink jumped high in the air and caught her rattle flying back down to attack Deino as Kieran and Deino panicked and struggled to think of something until Kieran calmed down and looked at the rattle.

"Use Crunch to bite the rattle!" Kieran yelled out as Deino's jaws glowed and grabbed the rattle with her teeth surprising both Ash and Tinkatink as Kieran smirked, "Now throw her!" Kieran said as Deino swinged and sent Tinkatink flying in the air as Kieran had another plan, "Now for an Earth Power!" Kieran said as Deino's mouth glows red and launches the red ball to the ground which created a series of protruding sharp rocks from the ground that went towards Tinkatink's direction.

"Use Rock Tomb against that Earth Power!" Ash yelled out as Tinkatink nods and forms rocky energy from her hands and launches the rock towards the Earth Power stopping it and giving Deino and Tinkatink. Ash and Tinkatink smile in gratitude towards Kieran and nearby people began to clap for him including his Pokemon and Nemona making Kieran blush and appeared confused.

"What am I getting praised for?" Kieran asks as Ash smirks.

"Because that was impressive battling, you used a tactic of stopping Tinkatink's hammer and following that up with a throw and attack when your opponent didn't have time to guard, that's pretty unique if I say so myself." Ash said with a kind smile as Kieran smiles to himself awkwardly and Ash looks to him in determination. "Alright, I think it's time for the final trial but this time, I want you figure out your own solution to this problem." Ash says as Kieran nods and both go to their Pokemon to pat em on the head and Nemona looked surprise.

"A hands-off lesson! I'm net aren't I in the future?" Nemona says as Ash smiles.

"Possibly. You were great out there Tinkatink, could you switch with Quaxwell?" Ash says as Tinkatink nods and switches with Quaxwell who was prepared for battle.

"Quax!" Quaxwell says.

"You were great Deino, could you switch with Rhyperior?" Kieran asked as Deino nods and switches with Rhyperior who was prepared for battle.

"Perior!" Rhyperior says as Kieran got nervous again.

Figure it out on my own? Oh boy, here we go. Kieran thought to himself as he shook his head, "Alright Rhyperior, pay close attention to Quaxwell and try not to get overwhelmed!" Kieran yelled out as Rhyperior nodded and focused on Quaxwell.

"Alright Quaxwell, rush in with Aqua Cutter!" Ash yelled out as Quaxwell nodded and ran towards Rhyperior quickly as Kieran prepared himself.

"Rhyperior, use Drill Run!" Kieran says as Rhyperior's horn spins fastly but his body was much slower and didn't have time to dodge as Quaxwell slashed at the tall Pokemon with quick decicive slashes as Rhyperior didn't have enough time to move but seemed unharmed.

"Rhyperior!" Kieran yelled out in worry as he gritted his teeth and thinked.

Rhyperior's in danger and Quaxwell is quick, it's fortunate Rhyperior is able to survive this long with its Solid Rock Ability but he's not getting anywher- of course! Rhyperior isn't exactly fast and thus faster Pokemon might have the advantage in speed, but each Pokemon is unique and should adapt to their own style regardless of speed. Alright, let's practice! Kieran thought to himself as he has a plan.

"Alright Rhyperior, be patient and hold it off!" Kieran says as Rhyperior nods and stays calm as Quaxwell slashed and slashed until Ash called upon another move.

"Quaxwell, Aqua Jet!" Ash says as Quaxwell jumped away and rushed back in a watery veil towards Rhyperior from behind as Kieran sees his chance.

"Now use Heat Crash!" Kieran yelled out as Rhyperior's body heats up and jumps in the air surprising everyone as Rhyperior came back down like a fiery meteor and prepared to slam onto Quaxwell.

"Deflect off of Rhyperior's Heat Crash with Rapid Spin!" Ash yelled out as Quaxwell spun fastly and deflected off of Rhyperior getting hurt slightly as Kieran and Rhyperior prepare for another attack.

"Now's your chance, use Rock Wrecker!" Kieran says Rhypeior forms grey rocks around his arms launching a large rock towards Quaxwell as Ash thought of something.

"Use Low Sweep and send that rock back!" Ash says as Quaxwell nodded and his leg glows and through a mighty swing of his leg, he sends the large rock hurling towards Rhyperior's left leg causing him to collapse on one knee and due to its size, he's pushed down to the ground.

"What!?" Kieran yelled as Ash sees another opportunity.

"Now for an Aqua Cutter but be unpredictable in movement!" Ash says as Quaxwell nods and rushes towards Rhyperior.

"Unpredictable?" Nemona and Kieran say confused as Quaxwell proceeded to jump towards Rhyperior before jumping to the left quickly then behind then to the right and kept getting much faster like a leaf in the wind before slashing at Rhyperior and kept repeating this as Kieran gets the idea.

I get it, Quaxwell is moving like that to avoid being hit by Rhyperior if I call out a move but there's one last trick up my sleeve. Kieran thought to himself as Quaxwell went in fot the finishing blow.

"Now!" Ash yelled out as Quaxwell prepared to slice at Rhyperior from the front, but Kieran smiled with confidence.

"Icy Wind from the ground!" Kieran says as Ash was surprised and Rhypeior aimed his arm cannons to the ground to release a cold, frosty wind that sent Quaxwell flying and Kieran sees another opportunity, "Now for a Drill Run!" Kieran says as Rhyperior launched himself forward and attacks Quaxwell sending him flying towards Ash as he gets back up causing Kieran to panic.

"Oh no, I didn't hurt him too much did I!?" Kieran worries but Quaxwell shakes it off though and smirks with confidence as Kieran breathed a sigh of relief.

"He's alright and that, is how you battle and use strategies in the most serious of battles, you passed." Ash says congratulating him as Kieran looked on in disbelief but smiled to himself as his Pokemon cheered on and Ash and Nemona looked on in approval as Kieran went over to pat Rhyperior on the back.

"You did well Rhyperior, now I have a feeling I can take on bigger battles, right?" Kiern said happily as Rhyperior happily nodded. Carmine smiled softly in the distance before erasing it and had a more skeptical look as she looked to her Samurott.

"I'm proud of Kieran but I don't think he's that ready, want to see if he's improved or if he'll be next week's scrap." Carmine asked her Samurott who nodded, and she began to walk over to the group who were discussing.

"You think you're ready for a battle using the skills you know?" Ash asked as Kieran smiled confidently.

"I'm ready to put my skills to the test!" Kieran says.

"Then I'll be your first opponent!" a harsh voice was heard revealing it was Carmine as Nemona looked at her angrily.

"I won't let you hurt Ash again!" Nemona says as Carmine scoffed.

"I'm not here for you or for Ash. I'm here to see if Ash's skills did help my brother or if they're a waste of time." Carmine said coldly as Nemona gritted her teeth and Kieran got scared but influenced by Ash, he puts his foot down.

"A waste of time? You were never like this; you would encourage me to be stronger for myself and now you're just putting everyone down around you. I accept you as your opponent because maybe your scared of losing against Ash again." Kieran said confidently and bravely before hiding behind his Decidueye being scared of his sister's wrath as she grits her teeth, but Samurott nudges her causing her to calm down.

"That loss never counted; I'll make sure you take back what you said, I'll give you 5 minutes to prepare yourself and if you don't, I'll battle Ash in your place and to put him down and no Tera, I want to see your natural abilities." Carmine says as she walks away, everyone breathed a sigh of relief, but Nemona appeared angrily.

"That girl infuriates me the more she talks." Nemona says as Ash pats her shoulder.

"There, there. You don't have to do this Kieran; I can take on-" Ash was interrupted by Kieran who looked to him with determination.

"No, I got you into this because I wanted help becoming stronger and good enough as a trainer for people to appreciate me and now, I'm going to do my job as a Champion and help others, so they don't get dragged into different problems." Kieran said confidently as Ash and Nemona were taken aback but Ash sees his eyes which were full of determination, and he nods.

"Right, do your best Kieran." Ash says as Kieran nods and Kieran talks with his Pokemon.

We see Kieran and Carmine across from each other with Kieran determined to battle as Ash and Nemona watched from a distance with Ash and Nemona being concerned for Kieran as Kieran looked to his Pokeball worried for himself as Carmine looked at him with slight concern in her eyes but got rid of it for a colder look.

"What's the matter, Torracat got your tongue. Are you going to give up here?" Carmine said coldly as Kieran wakes up to reality and shakes his head.

"Of course not, I'm doing this, so you don't drag Ash or Nemona to another battle, you always put me down for being 'weak' and made me to the person I am now! Now it's my turn to show how strong I can be without feeling weak or put down." Kieran said bravely as Carmine had a slight look of worry but shook it off.

I put him down? No, he's just going through some teenage angst, and I'll show him. Carmine thought to herself as she looked to her Great Ball. "Fine then, Metang, do your best." Carmine said calmly as she threw her Great Ball in the air releasing Metang who was prepared for battle while Kieran gulped and looked worried.

Metang!? No matter, I have to try, I have to show how strong I am as a Champion-trainer, so no one has to get dragged into my problems! Kieran thought to himself as he nodded to his Pokeball, "Gligar come on out!" Kieran says as he throws his Pokeball in the air releasing Gligar who was prepared for battle, Carmine only scoffs.

"Tch, a Gligar, how weak. Very well, you may have the first shot." Carmine said coldly as Kieran nods.

"Alright Gligar, use Dark Pulse towards Metang!" Kieran says as Gligar nodded and created dark energy from his claws and launched them towards Metang as Carmine scoffs.

"Shadow Ball." Carmine says calmly as Metang launches a ball of dark, ghostly energy towards the Dark Pulse creating a puff of smoke as Kieran attempts to see a possibility.

"Quick Gligar, use Acrobatics through the-" Kieran however was interuptted.

"Nope, Bullet Punch." Carmine says as Metang rushed quickly at Gligar punching him with quick strikes sending him flying towards the ground as Carmine smirked, "Hard Press." Carmine said calmly as Metang nods and jumps in the air with their left arm glowing and like an anvil from the sky, it drops quickly preparing to hit Gligar.

"Hard Press? That's a new one for me." Nemona says as Ash nodded in agreement.

"Hard Press is a Steel move that does more damage depending on how much strength the opponent has left." a deep voice was heard revealing it to be Clavell as the students jump spooked by his sudden arrival.

"Mr. Clavell!? What're you doing here?" Ash says.

"I was on my way to yoga when I saw you train with Kieran, so I figured I'd watch the battle. Your training skills are 2nd to none, I can see you as a teacher of Pokemon battling in your future." Clavell says as Ash looked on intrigued.

"One day, likely as an old man but I have a world to explore." Ash says as Clavell chuckles.

"I figured but the door will always be open." Clavell says as they continued to watch the battle as Kieran struggled to think of something to allow Gligar to dodge.

Metang is dropping like an anvil, I may not have time for Gligar to dodge normally unless, we can try that move but it will be slightly risky for Gligar but we'll have to try. Kieran thought to himself. "Use Scale Shot towards Metang and dodge quickly!" Kieran says as Gligar nods and releases multiple scale projections towards Metang which exploded onto Metang's face allowing Gligar to dodge in a swift matter avoiding Metang's Hard Press and causing their front two arms to be stuck to the ground.

"That was an impressive strategy using Scale Shot to blind Metang making it more swifty." Ash says as Nemona got curious.

"Scale Shot makes you swifty?" Nemona says as Clavell nods.

"Yep, Scale Shot is a Dragon move that makes the user launch missile like scales towards the target which will make it faster but frailer, so Gligar is faster in a way but has to be careful getting hit but it did allow Metang to be stuck and considering its weight and it's claws, it will be stuck there for a little while." Clavell says as Nemona nods and the battle continues with Carmine worried for her Metang.

"Metang! Quick, pull yourself out!" Carmine says as Metang attempts to pull out as Kieran sees his chance.

"Let me give you a hand, Gligar, use High Horsepower!" Kieran said as Gligar's body glows and rushes towards Metang but Carmine was determined not to give up right then and now.

"No, you don't Metang, use your other arm and use Bullet Punch!" Carmine says as Metang positions their right arm and Kieran panics as Gligar was flying quickly towards Metang at a speedy rate due to Scale Shot and had to think of something quick.

"Gligar, use your tail and place it into the ground and use your Acrobatics to dodge in place!" Kieran says as Gligar slammed his stinger to the ground stopping him in place as Metang unleashes fast strikes as Gligar dodged as quickly as possibly as if the wind was pushing him and avoiding the Bullet Punches which impressed the gang.

"Gligar using his tail as an anchor then dodging is certainly something, has anyone used their tail like that?" Nemona says impressed.

"Well, I can think of a few scenarios." Ash says as he remembers his final battle with Trip's Serperior who used his tail and placing it to the ground to void Pikachu's electrical attacks but other than that, that's all he remembers. "Though that is something I should try with Gliscor in the future." Ash says as the battle rages on and Kieran decides to strike before it's too late as Metang appeared tired.

"Now Dark Pulse!" Kieran says as Gligar launched Dark Pulse from his pincers towards Metang sending them unstuck from the ground and dazed.

"Metang, you alright!?" Carmine asked as Metang nods and looks towards Gligar who was still stuck to the ground and nods, "If Gligar wants to be stuck to the ground, then that's fine with me. Use Psychic Noise in the ground!" Carmine says as Metang nods and punches the ground, releasing a Psychic wave energy to the ground whose vibrations were enough for Gligar to struggle and even stop flying confusing Kieran.

"Gligar! Quick get out of there!" Kieran yelled out but Carmine softly smirked.

"Hard Press." Carmine says as Metang flew in the air and prepared to charge their fist and rushed towards the stuck Pokemon who panicked and Kieran had no choice but to use a final method.

"Gligar, it's all or nothing, rush towards Metang with High Horsepower and give it everything you got!" Kieran says as Gligar nods and through his efforts manages to pull his tail out of the ground and rushed towards Metang as both Pokemon collided creating a huge puff of smoke and their trainers were curious until they see both of their Pokemon having fainted to the ground shocking their trainers.

"Gligar!/Metang!" both Kieran and Carmine say as the gang look on in shock and surprise.

"Kieran managed to knock out one of Carmine's Pokemon, does that mean he can?" Nemona asks as Ash shrugs.

"I'm not sure, battles are always unpredictable, the trainer needs to do their best in their battles even if they don't win, I learned that a long while ago." Ash says as Nemona nods and both Kieran and Carmine both nod in acceptance towards their Pokemon and return them to their Pokeballs.

I don't believe it, I knocked out my sister's Pokemon for the first time. What is this, adrenaline, energetic, I feel prepared, but it also feels strange btu I just have to keep going. Kieran thought to himself as he looks to Gligar's Pokeball. "You were amazing Gligar, let's do our best in the future, get some rest." Kieran says as he grabs his next Pokeball.

"Thank you Metang, you were excellent as well. You managed to knock out one Pokemon but that was a tie so that doesn't really count, let's see if you redeem yourself against my Sinistcha!" Carmine yelled out as she sent out a mysterious Pokemon resembling a bowl and furthur resembling a Polteageist leaving Ash, Nemona and their Pokemon intrigued.

"What the- I've never seen that Pokemon in Paldea but it also looks like a Polteageist!" Nemona says as she scans it.

Sinistcha, the Matcha Pokemon, a Grass/Ghost type. This Pokemon looks similar to a Polteageist but they're ecologically and biologically different. They trick people into thinking it's tea but it's attempts fail badly.

The Dex entries leave the two intrigued and confused.

"So, it looks like a Polteageist but it's not ecologically?" Ash asks as Clavell nods and brings up several pictures such as a Diglett and Dugtrio as well as a white Diglett and a white 'Dugtrio' as well as a brown Tentacool and Tentacruel walking on land leaving the two trainers confused.

"Indeed, that Pokemon there is from the Kitakami region and yes, it looks like a Polteageist but are unreleated. It's what Jacq dubs 'Convergent Pokemon', Pokemon that look like another species of Pokemon maybe even related but they actually aren't. The white 'Diglett' and 'Dugtrio' you see isn't a regional form but rather, it's a Wiglett and Wugtrio which are more related to Pokemon like Tynamo and are Water type while the Tentacool and Tentacruel you see are actually Toedscool and Toedscruel which are more related to Foongus and Amoongus, confusing isn't it?" Clavell says as both Ash and Nemona had swirls in their eyes representing confused as Clavell chuckles.

"Well, you'll learn more in Biology." Clavell says as they got back to the battle.

"What do you know, you actually brought something from 'home' than forgetting about it." Kieran said with slight snark as Carmine glared at him.

"Make your move before I go over there." Carmine said with cold fury as Kieran panicked.

"Ahh- Tepig Flame Charge!" Kieran says as Tepig nods and rushes towards Sinistcha who remained calm.

"Wait for Tepig to arrive Sinischa." Carmine says as Sinischa nods.

"Cha." Sinischa said in agreement confusing the group aside from Clavell.

"What's Carmine planning, Sinistcha's a Grass type, they should be avoiding the attack." Ash says.

"I know what Carmine's planning and have a feeling what Ability it has." Clavell says as Tepig rushes in and tackles Sinischa in the air, but it appeared to not be seriously hurt by that super effective attack confusing Kieran.

"What the-" Kieran didn't have time to finish as Carmine smirked.

"Foul Play." Carmine said calmly with a hint of darkness as Sinistcha's green liquid body glows a dark aura and smacks Tepig down to the ground.

"Tepig!" Kieran yelled out in worry as Clavell sighs.

"I knew this would happen, Sinischta has the Heatproof Ability meaning it's now neutral against Fire moves." Clavell says as Nemona looked surprised.

"So, she knew and used that to her advantage so she could attack Tepig. Hopefully, he can make it through this one." Nemona said in worry as Clavell and Ash nod and Kieran struggles to think of something.

"Alright Tepig let's create an opening by circling with Flame Charge and go fast as you can!" Kieran says as Tepig nods and moves quickly with Flame Charge and encircles the Matcha Pokemon who stays still, Tepig got more faster by the minute as it seemed like a flash as Carmine scoffed.

"Oh Kiki, you should know to always take your time, or you might slip up. Use Matcha Gotcha!" Carmine says as Sinistcha spins their body around like a blender as they launch 5 spurts of a mysterious liquid in Tepig's direction and eventually, Tepig gets caught up and slips onto the liquid causing him to fall and spin onto the ground surprising Kieran and the gang.

"Tepig!" Kieran yells out.

"Scald." Carmine says as Sinistcha launches hot steaming water towards Tepig hitting him and dealing serious damage as the gang look on in shock and worry for the trainer.

"That was Matcha Gotcha, it's a Grass move that resembles tea, but it is not to drink as it is very hot and can burn the opponent, it's said that's ghostly energy allows it to restore its health." Clavell says.

"So, Carmine used Matcha Gotcha to her advantage by making Tepig slip because of his Flame Charge and then when he was sliding due to the tea, Carmine took another chance and attacked while she had the chance. Hopefully, Kieran can make a comeback." Ash says as Tepig tries to get up but slips due to the Matcha Gotcha on his body.

"Oh no Tepig!" Kieran says as Carmine scoffed.

"You really thought you could beat me, how pathetic, you can't even be like me." Carmine says as Kieran shook his hands.

"Your right, I can't be like you, you always put me down for what I am like I'm a nuisance or burden to you." Kieran said getting Carmine's attention and her scoff, smug appearance changed to a look of concern.

"Kiki..." Carmine said.

"You're a great battler worthy of a Champion and have plenty of friends, meanwhile, I'm alone and not a great battler forced into this role as Champion for no other reason other than glory. I can't be like you, Ash, Peche, Hikaru, dad or anyone else entirely but you know what, I don't want your words to get to me because I'm going to be a great trainer my own way and earn friends to get over my shyness and I'll work alongside my Pokemon, isn't that right Tepig?" Kieran says to Tepig as Tepig sees Kieran's determination and stands up despite the messyness and the gang look on in encouragement.

"That's the spirit Kieran!" Ash says encouragingly as Kieran smiled brightly and looked to his Tepig, his Rookidee and his Pokeballs.

"That's right, I'm going to keep going no matter what, just like the Ogre back home. Tepig, give it your all!" Kieran says encouragingly.

"Pig!" Tepig says when all of a sudden, a blue light envelops the Fire Pig Pokemon and grows into being bipedal and showing muscle as the light clears to reveal Pignite who was ready for battle. "Pignite!" Pignite says as Kieran's eyes sparkle and nods.

"Well, what are you waiting for?" Kieran says to his sister as his sister's sad trance went away for a more serious one.

"Nothing at all, use Shadow Ball!" Carmine says as Sinistcha nods and creates a Shadow Ball to launch towards Pignite who still felt wet from the Matcha Gotcha slip as Kieran thinks of something.

Pignite is still wet from Matcha Gotcha, so what if we used that to our advantage while using some Ash influence in our moves? Kieran says as he calls out his move, "Pignite, use Flame Charge and spin on your back to boost speed then use Flamethrower!" Kieran says as Pignite nods and lights himself on fire before proceeding to spin fast on his back with the increased speed of Flame charge before unleashing a Flamethrower countershield which surprises Ash. The countershield hits the Shadow Ball allowing it to stay in place as the flames swirls around the countershield keeping the Shadow Ball in motion.

"Has Countershield really influenced everyone?" Ash says.

"Well, most trainers like to look to their favorite Champions for guidance and take influence from their moves." Clavell says.

"Still, that's more people that I think of when they use that move." Ash says remembering that Brock, Paul, Dawn, Leon and Nemona have come up with their own countershield techniques and remembers that Carmine is one of the few who has a plan against that move, so he looks to Carmine who scoffs.

"I won't let you, aim yourself and use Scald at Pignite!" Carmine says as Sinistcha nods and prepares a watery blast towards Pignite as Kieran panics.

"Quick, use Wild Charge onto the Shadow Ball!" Kieran says as Pignite nodded and in quick succession, he manages to get up quickly and covers himself with electricity before slamming into the Shadow Ball at full force sending it flying towards Sinisctha as Carmine panics.

"Aim for the Shadow Ball!" Carmine said as Sinistcha nods and launches Scald towards the fast-moving Shadow Ball pushing it slightly.

"Here let me lend a hand, Pignite, use Rock Tomb towards the Shadow Ball!" Kieran says as Pignite nods and creates a large rock that he sends flying towards the Shadow Ball, pushing it through and landing on Sinistcha sending them flying towards the ground and knocking them out surprising everyone including Carmine.

"He actually knocked out one of her Pokemon and twice!" Nemona says in disbelief as Carmine was shocked, but her eyes also looked more congratulatory towards Kieran but shakes it off as she returns Sinistcha.

"Thank you Sinistcha, you gave it your best." Carmine says as she looks to her Pokeball and fondly smiles and looks towards Kieran who congratulated Pignite on his successful win and Carmine remembers how happy she and Kieran were on Christmas eve 8 years ago.

We switch to the land of Kitakami where we see a nice quaint community center in the town of Mossui where we see Christmas lights throughout the town that night where there was a Christmas party going on in the Community Center where we see a younger, sad 8-year-old Carmine staring out from a window seeing trainers both young and old passing by as she was sad which is when a beautiful woman with light blue hair on the outside and purple on the inside wearing a kimono goes to Carmine.

"Sweetie, is everything ok? Don't you want to play Kiki, Hikaru and Peche, they're all having fun?" the woman asked as Carmine shook her head.

"No, plus you would probably want to play with Kieran more than m-"

"Now Carmine! I love you both equally, you shouldn't feel down on yourself, I'll play with you both." the woman said reassuringly as Carmine sighed.

"It's not that mom, it's just, I want to be a trainer so bad, Kitakami is boring and I want to explore the world." Carmine said as her mother sympathized with her.

"Now Kitakami isn't boring, there's more out there than just Mossui, there are other towns, cities and-" Carmine's mother didn't finish as the automatic doors opened to show two jolly Santas with one having a sharp beard and yellow eyes while the other had a ponytail, blue eyes and a sharp goatee though he appeared familiar to Carmine as we see a 6 year old Kieran walk in searching for someone before he runs to the arms of his mother. The other two kids included a blue haired kid with purple eyes and a pink haired girl with light blue eyes walking alongside a Turtwig. The yellow-eyed Santa walked towards Carmine, her mother and Kieran.

"Ho-ho-ho, how are you jolly folks doing." the man said with a bad accent as Carmine giggled.

"Dad?" Carmine said as the Santa laughed.

"Hohohoho, your dad has prepared a special gift for you all, he's currently entrusted me to have fun while he's working on that special gift." the man said as Kieran teared up.

"Daddy's gone?" Kieran sniffiled as Carmine was annoyed.

"Ahh, man up Kieran, you won't get any fri-" Carmine was stopped by her mother's glare.

"Now, now, no need for teasing. If you bully your brother, you won't get any presents." Santa said as Carmine teared up.

"But I want one." Carmine said.

"Now, now, you don't have to cry. If you apologize, you might get your gift early." Santa says as Carmine sighed, and the woman puts Kieran down.

"Hmmmm, hmmm, I'm sorry." Carmine says as Kieran hugs his sister.

"I fogive you." Kieran says as Carmine hugs him and their mother awws while the Santa tears up a river surprising the woman and everyone around them. Some time goes by and after giving everyone there presents, everyone prepares to leave but the yellow-eyed Santa had one last special present for Carmine, Kieran and Hikaru as Peche, the other Santa, Peche's parents and the woman sat nearby as Santa left for one moment and the one who came back in was the man with the ponytail (he has some elements of Nobunaga's appearance) as Hikaru ran towards their father Ribes Herschel as Carmine and Kieran ran towards him.

"Daddy!" both children say as Ribes laughs.

"Haha, hey there my little champs, were you good kids during the party?" Ribes asked as both nodded, "Well that's perfect to hear. Just for that, I have a special gift for you two and Hikaru. Me and Uncle Katsu here pitched in and wanted to find the perfect present for the 3 of you, would you like your present now?" Ribes asked as the three children nodded immediately and Ribes chuckles.

"Alright, follow me." Ribes says as he sits down onto a chair and holds out the present. He slowly opens the box to show 3 Pokeballs that had a water symbol, a fire symbol and a grass symbol which surprised the 3.

"Pokeballs?" all 3 children say as Peche, the mother (named Harumi) looked on in awe over the gift and Hikaru turns to their childhood friends with an idea.

"Alright, I have an idea, whichever one we choose we open at the same time, and I guess since Kieran's the youngest, he can pick first. What's interesting to you Kieran?" Hikaru asks as Kieran shyly points to the grass one and Ribes hands him the Pokeball as Hikaru and Carmine discuss and eventually, Hikaru chooses Fire while Carmine gets Water.

"Ready?" Kieran says as Carmine and Hikaru nod and touch the circle in the middle of the Pokeball at the same time which releases Rowlet, Cyndaquil and Oshawott as the children were surprised.

"I got a Rowlet, amazing." Kieran says as Rowlet chirps happily and rests in Kieran's arms.

"I got a Cyndaquil, what's up little guy?" Hikaru says as Cyndaquil hops happily.

"And I got Oshawott, you're cool!" Carmine says as Oshawott looks to her trainer happily.

"Osha!" Oshawott says as Crmine happily lifts up Oshawott.

Carmine looks fondly towards Samurott's Pokeball and sighs.

You used to be so shy Kieran and yet you had to grow up. And you had to leave us without saying goodbye, mom. At least dad did and look where he is now, depressed for not handling his job right. Why did you have to leave this world alone mom. Carmine thought to herself with sadness as she looks towards Kieran.

"Alright Samurott, give it your all!" Carmine says as she throws her Pokeball in the air releasing Samurott who was prepared for battle.

"Samurott!" Samurott said getting Kieran and Pignite's attention as they were prepared for battle.

"Alright Pignite, use Rock Tomb!" Kieran says as Pignite nods and creates a large rock that he launches towards Samurott who scowls.

"Samurott use Ceaseless Edge!" Carmine says as Samurott nods and grabs her right seamitar preparing to slash at it as Kieran smiles confidently.

"Alright, now Wild Charge!" Kieran said as Pignite covered himself in electricity and rushed towards Samurott as both Carmine and Samurott were caught off guard, but it wasn't going to let them as Samurott slashed at the rocks ceaselessly creating sharp spikes from the Ceaseless Edge which landed towards Pignite's direction. Pignite stepped on one and stopped in pain as Kieran worried for his Pignite.

"Pignite!" Kieran said as Carmine smirked.

"Hydro Pump." Carmine said as Samurott unleashes a powerful torrent of water towards Pignite as Kieran panics.

"Quick, Flamethrower!" Kieran says as Pignite immidietly uses Flamethrower causing both moves to clash and create a steamy mist that covered the view of everyone. "Pignite, you there!?" Kieran calls out for.

"Pignite!" Pignite yelled out as Kieran breathed a sigh of relief.

"There you are, search for Samurott's shadow and use Flame Charge when you do." Kieran says as Pignite nods while Samurott franticly looks through the smoke but Carmine remains calm.

"Stay calm Samurott, I'm there, be patient and wait to strike." Carmine says as Samurott nods and stays focused as Pignite rushes in and attacks Samurott with Flame Charge, this repeats until Carmine sees the opportunity.

"Sacred Sword from behind!" Carmine says as the dust clears to see Pignite rushing in and Samurott's left seamitar glows blue and slashes at Pignite, Samurott returns her seamitar to her scabbard slowly and once she puts it back in, Pignite falls to the ground and faints.

"Pignite!" Kieran yelled out as Pignite smirked with confidence as he fainted as Kieran softly smiles and grabs his Pokeball, "Thank you Pignite, you were excellent. Get some rest." Kieran says returning Pignite to his Pokeball as he grabbed the Pokeball with the grass symbol on it and smiled.

"You were my first Pokemon Decidueye, let's give it our all." Kieran says as he sends out Hisuian Decidueye who was prepared for battle and the gang looked on with intensity.

"So, Kieran's down to Decidueye huh?" Nemona says as Ash and Clavell nod.

"Yes, I'm curious as to Hisuian Decidueye's battle style though, we only got a glimpse." Ash says as he and Nemona remembered Decidueye's first appearance was when he stopped Carmine's Samurott.

"These are our last Pokemon so don't disappoint me Kiki." Carmine said coldly as Kieran nodded.

"Right! Decidueye, use Air Slash!" Kieran says as Decidueye flaps his wings and creates vertical slices of air and launches it towards the Samurott as Carmine gritted her teeth.

"Samurott, use Razor Shell!" Carmine says as Samurott grabs her seamitar and slashes at the slices as Kieran sees an opportunity.

"Now rush in with Leaf Blade!" Kieran says as Decidueye's wings glowed a dark green and sharpened rushing towards Samurott as Carmine saw this.

"Defend with Sacred Sword!" Carmine says as Samurott nods and before Decidueye could attack, she clashes with Decidueye's Leaf Blade. They stay like this until Kieran had an idea in his head.

"Now for Feather Dance and disappear!" Kieran says as Decidueye nods and creates a barrage of feathers which blocked Samurott's view and slowed down her movements allowing for Samurott to swiftly disappear making Samurott panic until Decidueye appeared from behind and Carmine sees this.

"Quick, Sacred Sword from behind!" Carmine yelled out as Samurott prepared to slash at Decidueye but Kieran and Decidueye had other ideas.

"Feather Dance again!" Kieran says as Decidueye created another barrage of feathers and disappeared slowing Samurott's movements once more as Decidueye appeared from above.

"Samurott above yo-" Carmine didn't finish as Kieran took his chances.

"Triple Arrows!" Kieran says as Decidueye kicked at Samurott with an axe kick before launching 3 arrows towards Samurott, Samurott deflected the first arrow, but the other two arrows landed on her and sent her back dealing major damage as everyone looked on shock.

"Using Feather Dance to trick an opponent and dodge an attack and slow their movements, sounds familiar doesn't its Pikachu?" Ash says.

"Pika!" Pikachu said in agreement remembering Rowlet's own Feather Dance to avoid Hau's Alolan Decidueye's attacks.

"And that move right after Triple Arrows." Nemona says.

"According to Jacq, it's Hisuian Decidueye's move that makes Decidueye kick at the opponent before launching 3 arrows which can flinch them, lower their defensive capabilities or even critical damage." Jacq said shocking the two trainers.

"3 effects, that's crazy!" Nemona says as we focus on the battle.

"Samurott are you ok!?" Carmine says as attempts to get back up, but Kieran sees an opportunity.

"Leaf Blade!" Kieran says as Decidueye flies in with his wings glowing preparing to slash at Samurott as Carmine panics.

"Oh no you don't, Sacred Sword!" Carmine says Samurott nods and through quick movements, clashes with Leaf Blade once more, both make continues slashes at each other until Kieran finds a different angle.

"Air Slash!" Kieran says as Decidueye nods and prepares to create those vertical slash attacks again while clashing with Samurott, not wanting to risk it, Carmine also saw a new angle.

"Use Hydro Pump and aim it towards the ground!" Carmine says blindsiding Kieran and Decidueye as Samurott launches a powerful torrent of water to the ground which sends Decidueye back due to the water, "Now for a Sacred Sword!" Carmine says as Samurott grabs her right seamitar and rushes to Decidueye slashing him.

"Decidueye!" Kieran yelled out as he gets up ready to fight back as Kieran smiles and nods, "We've been through so much Decidueye, you've been by my side ever since I was a kid and I'm glad you're by my side, let's finish this together Decidueye!" Kieran says encouragingly as Decidueye nodded and his body starts to glow with an orange aura surprising everyone.

"That aura, I have a feeling what move it's going to use." Ash says as Kieran nods to his Decidueye and thinks of the memories of him and Decidueye and their various adventures and nods. Both Samurott and Decidueye appear to be at their limits but both weren't backing down just yet.

"I'd say we finish this don't you agree Kiki." Carmine says as Kieran nods.

"Yes, use Brave Bird!" Kieran says as Decidueye nods and he flies up in the air and rushes down before positioning himself as a straight arrow towards Samurott.

"Sacred Sword!" Carmine says as Samurott rushes towards Decidueye with a powerful glowing blade, and both clashed with each other creating a puff of smoke. Everyone watched in anticipation as Decidueye and Samurott were both huffing, fatigued and about ready to fall and both fall at the same time, but Samurott had the courage to keep herself steady and up while Decidueye faints causing the gang to look on sympathy while Kieran looked on in shock.

"Deicidueye!" Kieran yelled out running towards him as Decidueye softly smiled while Kieran teared up, "I'm sorry Decidueye, it's not your fault!" Kieran says as Carmine looked on feeling regretful but shook it off and walked towards Kieran. Nemona stands up preparing to walk towards Carmine to defend Kieran but Ash stops her.

"Wait, I can tell by her expression that she's not going to do anything malicious, let's wait." Ash says as Carmine sighed.

"Well, you lost, and I admit that-" Carmine was interrupted however by a determined Kieran.

"You're not going to battle my friends! They didn't do anything this time to tick you off, I'm not going to let you through and hurt them again-" Kieran however was interrupted by a annoyed Carmine.

"Let me finish squirt! I'm not battling those two brats because... my team needed a rest. What I was going to say was that although you lost, you put an amazing display of your style and I admit that I forced you into this role but our headmaster needed strong trainers to be Uva's new Champion-ranked trainers and so I advocated for you, but I realized a bit too late that you didn't feel confident and I'm sorry." Carmine says but although Kieran could sense a hint of care in her voice, he also thinks there's something else she's hiding and thus is a bit suspicious.

"Uh huh." Kieran said suspiciously as Carmine sighed.

"Look what I'm trying to say is that I'm happy for you, you managed to stand up for yourself and put up a good battle but if you don't feel like you want to be a Champion, I can ask our headmaster and-" Carmine was stopped by Kieran.

"I'll stay!" Kieran says surprising everyone.

"Wha-"

"You placed me into this role sis, and I may not be the greatest trainer out there or a great Champion but I'm going to work hard to show everyone how capable I am as a ranked trainer even if I have to go through hell and back to make it through my goal. And if you can't accept that, then it's your loss for not recognizing my potential or anyone's for that matter and you can just focus on being Phyllus's teacher's pet and someone who judges someone like Ash for being an 'outsider' when your one yoursel-" Kieran was interrupted by a frustrated Carmine.

"Ok I get it! Look, if you want to stay that's fine but don't come crying to me when you lose often but I'll try to work harder towards recognizing other students or something you said. Look, I'll be busy for the next couple of days, can you handle yourself and find the Artazon gym on your own?" Carmine says as Kieran bravely nods. "Then I'll see you later." Carmine says as she returns Samurott thanking her and walks away, and Kieran breathes a sigh of relief as the gang goes to Kieran.

"Kieran, you were excellent!" Ash says as Kieran blushes.

"Oh, I wasn't really amazing or anything." Kieran said honestly as Ash shook his head.

"Everyone's amazing in their own way, you may have not won but you proved yourself both in battle and standing for yourself and I think that, is truly amazing." Ash says as Kieran looked on in amazement and teared up slightly.

"Thanks, say Ash?" Kieran asks.

"Yes Kieran?"

"I-I-I-I I would like to request a battle if you're in Artazon! I want to train on myself so I can give you a satisfactory battle and to improve myself after today's training if you don't mind!?" Kieran says bashfully as Ash smiled brightly.

"You have a deal!" Ash said cheerfully as Kieran smiled.

"Thank you so much! I won't let you down! Now I just have to find a map to Artazon and I'll-" Kieran was stopped by Nemona.

"Wait, you don't have a phone!?" Nemona says as Kieran shakes his head.

"Nope."

"How old are you?" Nemona asked.

"14." Kieran says surprising Nemona.

"Wait, your 14, you don't have a phone and thus the letter you sent was your only way of communication!?" Nemona says as Kieran nervously nods, "That changes today." Nemona says as she ran comedically towards a nearby phone store with Pawmo and came out with a new Rotom phone surprising Kieran.

"What the, you didn't have to do that for me, I'm sure it costed a lot of money, here let me-" Kieran says but Nemona stops him.

"Relax, this phone was free. Comes with having a family who owns Rotom phones. But for real, it's a good way of communication and travel with us being friends and all." Nemona says surprising Kieran over that one word.

"We're friends?" Kieran says tearing up as Ash and Nemona nods.

"Of course, I think you're amazing and I think we would be good friends, consider Arven and Penny your friends also. Hmm, Kieran?" Ash says concern as Kieran lets his tears out. "Oh no Kieran, I-"

"No Ash. I'm just so happy, you care for me, got something for e when you didn't have to and still are nice to me when my sister hasn't been the best. I'm so happy, I have childhood friends back home but in Uva while having some friends, everyone seemingly just praises my sister more and ignore me. Yet, you care, of course I accept your friendship." Kiera says crying as Decidueye and Rookidee pat him on the back out of comfort as Ash and Nemona smile.

"Of course, I think everyone in Naranja would love to be around you." Ash says as he also hears sniffling from Clavell.

"That's the true power of friendship and care, no bullying, just friendship. It's so incredibly based of you!" Clavell says crying a pool of tears as Ash, Nemona, and even Kieran and their Pokemon stare at him with a deadpan expression.

"Don't push the slang." all 3 trainers say as Clavell stops crying and softly smiles towards Kieran.

"Regardless, your always welcome to Naranja whenever you want." Clavell says as Kieran nods happily and they all continued talking with each other and Kiern got everyone's contact numbers but Clavell was concerned about another thing.

Phyllus made Kieran and Carmine into Champions himself? The rule states that only the Top Champion can do so, Phyllus is getting more suspicious and I'll have to talk with Ribes about it. Now that you think about it, there was an Uva Champion prior to Kieran, his name was Atticus, wasn't it? The day Kieran became Champion was in August of last yea- don't tell me that aligns around the time of late July's Starry- I have to get to Ribes as soon as possible! Clavell thinks to himself as he waves Kieran goodbye along with Ash and Nemona as Carmine watched from a distance with a hint of sadness.

Look at you growing up Kiki, you were so shy and now you have friends who care for you and your more friendly than... me. What am I talking about? I have friends, Maron, Cassandra... Hikaru, Peche- no, they're far away. Amarys, no she moved to Unova 2 years ago. What am I sad about? It's just that everyone's... busy, that's it, it's not like I'm lonely or anything, hahahaha...haha...ha. Carmine thought to herself as she sadly walked through the alleyway.

We see everyone back at the museum having enjoyed Professor Gible's poetry and everyone has their art ready including the hooded girl, Penny and Arven who looked tired but look excited to display their art piece which took a lot moving.

"That was a lot of red and moving, but I think you might actually win this Mera." Penny said confidently as Arven nod, but the hooded girl shook her head.

"No, 'we' might win this, you really helped me out, so I consider this our project, thanks to you." Mera said happily almost congratulatory in her eyes as Hassel and Gible look at the artwork and praised them including 3 girls that the 3 seemingly recognize.

"It's those jerks, the 'Smug 3' as I call them with their leader Jessica, she makes me sick." Mera said but before she could walk over there, Penny stops her.

"Now, now, I'm sure she won't try anything, me and Arven will protect you!" Penny said confidently as Mera looked on surprised and smiled, even teared up a bit.

"Thanks." Mera said softly as Hassel walks over to the 3.

"My, you have 5 large art stands and a cover for mystery, now that is something. Would you like to show us your amazing art?" Hassel says enthusiastically as Penny and Arven look to Mera who was nervous but nods, with the help of Penny, Arven and Mera's Infernape, they pull down the 5 covers and everyone looks on in awe over the 5 pieces of art. the first picture was of a girl who appeared to be sobbing at the bottom of the stairs as the red hands and demonic hands try to reach out for her, the second picture was of the girl looking up at the stairs to see 5 arms reaching out for her but the 5th hand looked like an electricity bolt. The third picture was of the girl running up the stairs reaching out to the hands has wings of flames started to sprout from her back as the shadowy figures were about to reach her. The 4th picture was her reaching the top preparing to jump as the figures were close to reaching her. The 5th and final picture show her fully sprouting her wings resembling flames getting rid of the red darkness and creating a brighter picture as she grabs onto the 5th thunderbolt hand towards a new beginning.

"This art piece is about a girl, lost in her own darkness seemingly giving up but, there were 5 hands who reached out to her for comfort and all she has to do is run up those stairs. The demons that are in this picture are trying to take her away but just then, wings made out of flame start to sprout from her back until eventually, she reaches the top and her flaming wings fully form to get rid of the darkness plaguing her and joining her new friends at the top to start anew, I started it because I felt alone with no one around but then, these two great students came around and helped me be a bit more brighter even if it's been only a couple of hours, this is our art project 'Flames of Freedom' and I couldn't have done it without these two, Penny, Arven and me Mera!" Mera said happily as the crowd claps for them, and Hassel looks on impressed, but it seems that Jessica didn't take this lightly as she walks over to Mera.

"Look at you, being fully praised, being liked when your really a fraud." Jessica says as the 3 trainers got angry.

"What do you mean that I'm a f-" Mera didn't finish as Jessica pulls down her hoodie revealing her appearance i which she had green eyes, spikey bob hair that was red and orange like a flame, mascara and freckles as the crowd gasps including Penny and Arven as Mera pulls up her hoodie.

"You see, your nothing but a fraud. your Mela Pimenter of Team Star's Schedar squad, their boss. You just came back hoping Hassel can forgive you for being Team Star's boss, you're a fraud, your art is a fraud, your better than me when you really aren't and I'm glad I destroyed your previous 'magnum opus' and now, this trash." Jessica says as she snaps her fingers and her two lackeys out of malice threw two rocks towards Mela and Jessica attempted to kick at Mela and the art but as Hassel was going to step in to defend her, Penny took the hit from both rocks with one on her stomach and the other to her cheek and a kick to her right shin shocking everyone.

"PENNY!" Arven, Mela and Hassel say in worry as Sprigatito and Morada hissed at the girls preparing to defend her.

"Stop!" Penny says to the two Pokemon as she stands up facing the two Pokemon as Penny gets back up.

"What are you-" Jessica didn't finish as Penny glared at her.

"What is wrong with you!? What did she ever do to you for her to deserve this punishment?" Penny says as Jessica scoffs.

"She's Team Star and she's better than me when it comes to art-"

"That doesn't give you the right to hurt them! Sure, maybe Team Star are annoying at times, but they joined because of people like you. You put them down for what they are, they're trying to live normal lives or trying to express themselves for who they are as an individual, but you don't give the chance because your worried that they're better than you and you know what, maybe they are better than you if you're acting this way. Maybe you also act this way because you're going through your own problems but that doesn't give you the right to use others as an outlet for your anger." Penny said angrily as everyone talked amongst themselves and she turned to them.

"This goes for you too, if you think that a child's life is nothing to you because what they're going through and you ignore them, you really need to rethink your life." Penny said confidently as Jessica scoffed.

"So, you would really defend 'that' girl and Team Star?" Jessica says.

"I'd rather defend someone who feels like the world is against them like Team Star over someone like you who only seems to care about themselves as if they were superior. i had to see two Team Star members go through abuse and bullying, another loneliness, one took their own life when she felt like a burden and I don't want them to feel alone so yes, I'll defend them even if it means getting hurt by you in the process." Penny said bravely as Jessica gritted her teeth and attempted to punch Penny, but Hassel holds her punch as Jessica looks on shocked. and Hassel appeared angry instea of his cheerful self.

"You 3, Clavell's office, now! We will discuss what happened now and what happened back then. Professor Gible, please lead them to Clavell's office." Hassel says as Jessica scoffs.

"A Gible?" Jessica says as Gible turns to them.

"Gible?" Gible says in a simple tone, scaring everyone including the girls.

"OK, we'll go!" the girls says as Professor Gible nods and leads the 3 girls away from the scene before Hassel turns to the audience.

"Now, let's take a 20-minute break so we can get this situation figured out, Arven, Penny do you mind coming with me for a minute?" Hassel says with concern in his voice as the two student's nod.

"Mela it's- Mela?" Penny said as Mela disappeared leaving behind a note.

"Dear chumps. I'm sorry I got you involved with my problems. I'll head out so you don't have to get hurt again. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry... from Mela. Mela..." Arven says worried for her.

We see the 3 walking through the museum to Clavell's office as Arven and Penny were both nervous.

"Are we trouble?" Penny asked.

"No, I'm actually proud of you for sticking up to Mela. I admit that I had been suspicions about Team Star until Clavell told me about what they go through which made me reflect about the past, my blinded suspicions towards Team Star and Mela in particular." Hassel says getting his keys out as Arven and Penny look on in intrigue.

"Is Mela your daughter?" Arven asked as Hassel sighed.

"No, but she's like a daughter to me. You see, before I became an art teacher at Naranja, I was a teacher at a local art school around 2 years ago where some go full time while others go part-tie in addition to main classes but one of my students was Mela. She went to Naranja around the same time, and she acted aloof and alone at times, drawing more depressing art of her trapped by 'something'." Hassel says.

"It sounds like judging by her art, she seems troubled." Penny says as Hassel nods and opens the door to reveal various pieces of art and the blue-eyed Charcadet from before sitting on a chair waiting and goes to the group as Penny seemingly recognizes him and picks him up happily.

"It's Charlos, he hangs out with you?" Penny says as Hassel nods.

"Charlos?" Arven asks.

"Think of him as our semi-mascot, he comes to the school to visit and play as well as cheering up students whoever feels down." Penny says as Hassel nods.

"Yep, but he also has a special relationship with Mela, actually, before that 'incident', I was going to ask Mela if she wants to catch Charlos but as you'll see, she left. She began opening up about her issues about how she was- um, how should I put this because I hate that word um." Hassel then flicks a tissue box and Arven catches it.

"Looks you bumped by acci- oh." Arven says realizing what Hassel meant and Penny was horrified to say the least.

"Yeah, that. She let out her anger, her sadness and I started to have a special connection with her, helping her with her art and she bonded with Charlos almost as if they were siblings. Eventually, she graduated early with plans to become an artist after she completes Naranja and then, the Starry Skies incident occurred and due to the teacher's failure to stop the incident, many teachers left out of shame and in their place were new teachers, and I was recommended to that role." Hassel says.

"Judging by that expression, you became her homeroom teacher?" Arven says.

"Right on the nose. As you know, she's one of Team Star's boss's but I have no idea when she became a boss but presumably during her time at art school. Either way, she was the last of the bosses to leave and managed to hide her identity the longest by 5 months which is enough time for me to become her homeroom teacher and we bonded once more but it seems some students think she was a teacher's pet and ruined her 'magnum opus'." Hassel says opening the door to reveal a large, fractured watercolor art piece of something missing in the middle but contained a view over a city, a tree and overlooking the city appeared to be a hill with what appeared to be a Dragonite with green clothing but part of the tree and whatever was in the middle is missing. This made Penny and Arven look on in awe over the piece.

"It seems those girls ruined her art and exposed her identity as a boss of Team Star and before I could stop them, Mela ran away and never came back until now. It was the day I was planning on adopting her with my husband to provide her a home where she could be happy and not be filled with sadness but everytime I try to find leads on her, it seems to draw up empty handed. It was my shame for not stopping the bullying in the first place and I was shocked that she was indeed of Team Star but that wasn't going to stop me from caring about her. I decided to it up to myself by restoring her artwork, but it seems she has the final piece. I also decided to give each student the care they deserve so they don't feel lonely, this is why I'm so cheerful, to cheer myself up and to makes others happy because if I leave someone alone like they're nothing, I wouldn't know what to do with myself." Hassel says as Penny shook her fist in anger.

"Penny..." Arven said worried for her.

"Why do people bully each other?" Penny says as Hassel sighed.

"It's as you said, people go through stuff in which they feel like they need an outlet to express their anger but even then, it will never justify the actions they've committed. If one wants to improve on themselves and make up for the pain they cause to others, they have to look at themselves and paint new path in life. You're worried for her, aren't you?" Hassel says.

"Of course, I am! I'm going to help them no matter what because Team Star were only formed to protect themselves, they need help in order to feel like they aren't alone because if we leave them alone, what are we?" Penny says as Hassel smiles.

"You're a good kid." Hassel says as he grabs an ice pack and hands it to Penny as she places it on her cheek. "If you're going to save her, just be careful. I'll join you along with Charlos to try to help her, I'll add the final touches to the artwork, and I'll be emotionally ready when it comes to confronting Mela." Hassel says as Penny nods and Penny tells Hassel, Charlos and Arven the supposed location she heard about, between Oresville and Artazon and they split off for the next day.

We see the gang (sans Arven) reunited at type circle preparing to leave and discuss their plans.

"So, this Mela individual is right around Artazon? From what I've heard, you can get a view over Oresville, Uva Academy and Levincia in one spot in Artazon." Nemona says as Penny nods.

"That's right, I presume you Gym battle will be in Artazon and Levincia right Nemona?" Penny says.

"That's right, we'll just have to make it through this canyon first, but we'll have to hurry if we're going to make to Ash's battle with Rika, all prepared?" Nemona says as Ash nods.

"That's right! Though, I heard it's more where anyone can battle her so i don't think it's official but it's a good warmup to my battle with Poppy. Where's Arven" Ash says as they look around to see Arven catching up.

"Sorry, I'm late, I was getting our supplies for the trip." Arven says as Nemona smirked.

"I'm pretty sure it's the backpack." Nemona said as Arven was shocked.

"How dare you! I'll have you know that I can lift this backpack and move quickly." Arven says as the gang chuckle but eventually had looks of determination.

"Any Titans over east?" Ash asked as Arven grabbed his Scarlet book.

"Not until we reach the Cañones Elevados, a desert like rocky region." Arven says as Ash nods.

"Then our journey continues." Ash says as they all nod and leave the for the Vast Beyond.

Extra: Staraptor's Vacation

A couple of days ago before the Firestarter Festival, Ash needed to switch Staraptor with Incineroar for the festival however Ash realizes that he should've sent Staraptor to Oak's first but Kakui reassured him he'll send Staraptor back home in a bit. Kakui decided to show Staraptor around.

"Welcome to my lap, the Starly family aren't seen in the Alola region, but you and Ash's fellow mons are most certainly welcome here." Kakui says as Staraptor smiles and Lei tries to reach out to him. He, Kakui and Lei head upstairs where Staraptor sees Ash's Alolan mons (sans Incineroar) who look to Staraptor in curiosity as Staraptor got nervous.

"Guys, this is Staraptor, one of Ash's Pokemon in the Sinnoh Region, he'll be going home in a bit but for the time being, please welcome him in open arms." Kakui said cheerfully as Rowlet, Melmetal and Lycanroc were suspicious of him but similar with Goh's first arrival, they were happy, and they hugged the living life out of Staraptor.

A couple hours later, we see Kakui talking with Oak on the computer screen with Ash's Muk, Oshawott, Bayleaf, Pignite and Kingler relaxing in the background.

"Ah hello Kakui, what brings you here today?" Oak asks.

"Well, I switched Ash's Pokemon for him however he accidently sent Staraptor over to me, so I called you to return Staraptor." Kakui says.

"Ahh it's quite alright. I'll get the machine ready though if any of Ash's mons from Alola want to come visit, they're most certainly welcome to." Oak said happily as Kakui nodded.

"And the same applies to Ash's mons over in Kanto. You might be surprised about Staraptor, he seems to like the relaxed nature " Kakui said happily as he placed Staraptor's Pokeball onto the transfer machine and sent it over to Oak.

"Ahh, thank you Kakui, come on out Staraptor." Oak said as Staraptor comes out of his Pokeball to reveal that Staraptor had a sunhat, sunglasses, an Alolan shirt and a Pinap drink with him surprising everyone in the lab.

"Staraptor." Staraptor said more calmly and relaxed as Oak chuckled.

"I guess Alola is so relaxing it can make one of Ash's mons feel relaxed in a way, I should really plan a vacation sometime soon." Oak said as Kakui nods.

"You said it cousin." Kakui said as Ash's Pokemon were trying to make sense of Staraptor's new relaxed attitude as Staraptor slept.

That was a long one and sorry for the wait, between college, trying to move and spotty internet to the point where my saves don't work, I've been busy but eventually, I made it through. The next chapter will be a sort of celebration in a way as we almost reached the anniversary of this fic, I thought I was going to stop after a long while hence the 'first' chapter being more of an idea book but realizing that I was going to continue writing this story, I decided to delete that chapter now that I'm a bit more confident in this story.

The next chapter will involve Ash and the gang training but it seems like Cyclizar and Koraidon though they settled their jealousy differences from before still have a rival like relationship as Ash struggles to train them, but things go a bit differently as Ash and the gang encounter a pink haired girl named Lacey who is searching for her classmate Drayton and upon finding the relaxed individual, Drayton takes intrest in Ash and decides to battle Blueberry Academy style. Meanwhile, Team Rocket are intrsted in not just Pikachu and Koraidon but also Drayton's mysterious Pokemon Archaludon.
