Artemis has a soulmate?
That simple fact shocked Aphrodite to the core. The same Artemis that would gouge men's eyes out if they stole a peek at her. The same Artemis that took a vow of maidenhood because she hated the existence of men.
Aphrodite hadn't told Eros the news yet, but it was certainly exciting news.
That nature loving hunt obsessed moon goddess had a soulmate!
She had so many questions.
Who was it?
When did this happen?
Are they in love yet?
But most importantly...
How was she supposed to watch Artemis's love arc unfold???
Every time Aphrodite tried to "find the perfect man" for Artemis, it would never work. Artemis would find out, or the something would happen, preventing them from meeting.
It was like she was forbidden to intervene with Artemis's love life despite her many attempts.
Artemis's senses could tell when Aphrodite was watching her. Aphrodite didn't know how. It was ONLY her too. Out of all of the gods, Artemis was able to find her in an instant.
Sometimes (many times) she swore that Artemis had some sort of Aphrodite detector.
Developed over many eons, the Aphrodite detector was perfected, much to her (Aphrodite's) dismay.
Not even a millisecond was overlooked.
Although, Artemis could never stop her from trying. If anything, she would try even harder now that she knew that Artemis had a soulmate.
She'd been waiting for centuries for the exact moment for Artemis to finally fall in love. It was her "calling".
Now that there was an opportunity, it was impossible for the love goddess to step away, even though she had "promised" not to get involved.
There were a few ways Aphrodite could go about it, all methods were time consuming.
Words held power. Even to gods.
Aphrodite slapped her cheeks.
It was time to get to work!
With a pumped and excited expression, she went off to find Eros.

"Mistress?"
Artemis snapped out of her daze, although she did not show it outwardly. Her aloof demeanor seemed the same as usual.
"Yes?"
"There was large pack of hellhounds spotted northwest and mentions of wailing at night."
"How many?"
Wailing at night sounded strange, but Artemis brushed over it, deciding to think about it later.
"Fifty."
"Confirmed?"
"Yes, by Eviane herself."
Percy took the time to learn the names of all of the hunters, eventually learning them all in the span of a week. His relationship with them hadn't really progressed further than him teaching the girls archery.
He felt as though he was inadequate as a teacher, feeling that his mistress would be significantly better. He had the opportunity to see her in action one day.
Her skills were excellent. Much better than his and even his mother.
His mistress was undoubtedly the best archer he had ever seen in his entire life.
His mother was an expert, but his mistress was on a different level.
She was definitely master tier.
So, Percy found it strange when she suggested that he continue to teach him.
She did not have the time to teach them.
Perhaps, she had a good eye.
Thankfully, their skills improved significantly.
He attributed their success to their hard work and dedication. Many of them came early in the day to practice, although not all of them acknowledged his teachings.
Percy didn't blame them.
He was only a novice himself. It didn't make sense to learn from someone who was less experienced or has no time spent as a teacher.
The latter part definitely held true.
He was proud to see the girls improve even if it might not have been because of him.
The relationship with his mistress remained the same.
The more time he spent around her the more Percy thought that she was more reserved rather than cold. His mistress preferred to keep her distance from him, which he respected.
Something that he noted was that there were no males in the hunt.
At least, from what he's seen.
In fact, the only other man that he's seen since he was summoned was the guy who attacked him.
Percy didn't know what happened to the man afterwards.
He simply disappeared, not that it bothered Percy at all. He preferred to keep it that way. He didn't want to get into any more trouble.
His mistress probably took care of it.
"You will go with Eviane's group to take care of it. I will investigate the wailing noises."
"Yes, mistress."
Percy respectfully bowed.

Percy walked up to the group.
Their chattering slowly died out as they noticed him approaching. Their gazes were particularly hostile, although he promptly decided to ignore them.
These girls were part of the group that didn't attend his archery lessons(?). He was still unsure at what to call the sessions. Eviane sometimes came to observe, but he never saw her practice.
She was not like the other girls in her group. She didn't show any sort of hatred towards him but was more neutral. Somewhat like his mistress but different at the same time.
He adapted quickly after being with the Hunt for a time now. It was clear that they did not trust him, but he didn't do anything to try to change it.
As long as it wouldn't interfere with his duty, it was irrelevant to him.
There was only one other girl in the group that didn't show hostility towards him.
A grey-eyed girl named Sofia.
He frequently saw her reading books on her lonesome.
It was strange to see this quiet girl with these other, more unreserved girls, but he didn't think too deep into it.
"Eviane," Percy said tapping the dark-haired girl on the shoulder. "I've been assigned to your group."
Several groans rang out, not hiding their displeasure.
Eviane seemed lightly surprised that he knew her name but displayed nothing more than that. She seemed vaguely aware of the reason he was here.
"To get rid of the dogs?"
He gave an affirmative nod.
Inwardly accepting the task, she thought for a second. "Alright, let go now."
"Now?" Another girl voiced out. Her eyes looked up to the sky, suggesting that it was too late to go now.
The sun was still bright, it seemed like it was going stay that way for at least five more hours. The other girls seemed to agree with her sentiment as they looked at Eviane, keen to hear her response.
Eviane, aware of their thoughts, seemed to be slightly annoyed. To her, it was clear that they wanted to delay traveling with the male as much as possible.
She too did not like the sound of this, but this was an order from Artemis. They could not put it off for tomorrow. Other demigods would be at risk.
A pack that large had to be dealt with as soon as possible. Sometimes she disliked hanging out with them because they were too casual about life.
But, she wasn't too close with the other cliques of the Hunt. Eviane felt an obligation to this group because there was no one else to be around.
Eviane stared at the girl, implying that she would not change her decision.
The girl wasn't dumb to understand this and playfully pushed her shoulder.
"Evi, why do you have to be this way? You're such a downer."
Eviane hated the way Alexie called her Evi, but she didn't call her out on it.
Technically, Eviane was the leader of the group, but reality was different.
Alexie was the true leader. She was also the snarkiest one of the bunch.
"Everyone else also thinks that it's a little late to go now, right guys?" She looked around at the other girls.
They nodded their heads in agreement with the exception of one person. "See? They think so too!"
Alexie blatantly ignored Percy's existence, assuming that he wouldn't take action.
Her assumption was right. Percy was standing off a little ways away, waiting for the "conversation" to end. It was not his place to get involved, even if he did nothing good would come out of it.
Besides, he has been in these sort of situations before in the Isles. It was nothing new nor did it faze him in any way.
"Well, Evi here wants to go now, what do you girls think about that?"
Eviane couldn't think of anything to say and remained silent, clenching her teeth. Her ears were turning red.
This did not go unnoticed by Alexie.
"Are you getting embarrassed?" Her face had a disgusting smile on it that made you just want to punch it. "Evi's getting embarrassed! Look how cute she is!"
Eviane's gaze was lowered, and Percy could see her trembling ever so slightly. She reminded him of himself when he was younger.
Percy could feel her rage and feeling of helplessness underneath the surface. The feeling of wanting to lash out but held back by what would happen afterwards if you do retaliate.
Doing nothing will result in the same thing happening. Over and over again. Creating a never-ending loop.
Eventually, the continual treatment will break a person down mentally.
With Eviane's personality, it will probably happen sooner or later.
Percy let out a sigh. "That's enough."
Alexie looked at him like a stray mutt on the streets. "That's enough?" The look on her face asked, "Who the hell do you think you are?"
One of the girls hastily tried to whisper something, but she was brushed off by Alexie.
"I guess the mute can talk after all, fucking bastard," she said spitting at the ground towards him.
His eyes turned into slants.
Alexie didn't know what happened a few weeks ago otherwise she wouldn't be talking so disrespectfully at him. But, that was not his problem.
He was mildly ticked off by the word "bastard". Percy hated when someone insults mother like that.
"Oh look at that, the bastard is really angry isn't he?"
Seeing that he didn't respond only made her confidence rise.
Alexie got up in his face.
"Fucking. Bastard."
Those words sealed her fate.
The first time, fine. It was whatever.
He would've let her off if she didn't say anything else.
Two times, okay. Annoying yes. But, it wasn't worth his time.
Three? Well...
An intense aura oozed from his body.
Alexie had a feeling that something terrifying was looking at her, causing her to fall to the ground frightened. Every signal in her body was going haywire.
She crumbled underneath him, shivering like a leaf in the wind.
Her mind prevented her from looking up. It felt as though a pair of eyes were staring down at her like she was an ant to be stomped on.
There was nothing she could do but freeze in terror.
Eviane blinked in astonishment.
It only took just a second for the roles to be completely reversed.
Although it was satisfying to see Alexie paralyzed on the ground, a cold sweat ran down her back.
She didn't know what was going to happen next. Eviane took a look at the male to find him staring right at her.
His body language told her that he was waiting for her to follow.
Although her mind said not to, her legs gladly complied.
