I'm sorrryyyy this took so long! Lockdown just made time fly and I hadn't realised it'd been so long. I'm hoping to have another update within the next two weeks!

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy and thanks so much to everyone reading and reviewing!

Hally watched as the 'new' Doctor flitted about the TARDIS console enigmatically. He certainly seemed very energetic for a Time Lord about 3 minutes post-regeneration. Rose was asking him questions, staring at him in disbelief.

A wave of nausea suddenly hit Hally and she felt her head spinning dangerously. She quickly grabbed the closest railing, steadying herself. The Doctor paused, noticing.

"Woah, you don't look so good." He straightened up, looking her up and down.

An angry burst of pain and heat blossomed out from the centre of the nasty wound on her stomach. She let out a pained whimper. It was like her own body was trying to punish her. Getting shot straight after powering up the Delta Wave. She almost let out a huff, he hadn't even used it.

"Healing… not going so-…" Luckily, The Doctor noticed the vacant expression fall over his daughters face and leapt to catch her before she hit the ground as she blacked out.

The first thing she noticed was that there was music playing? Her eyes opened slowly and the familiar light pattern placed her in her bedroom. She let out a soft breath, pushing herself up onto her elbows, quickly checking her body over. All good.

Sitting up fully, Hally frowned and cocked her head. There was music playing

"When I woke up today and the world seemed a restless place, it could have been that way for me." Sang the singer. Hally ran a hand through her hair and she got up off the bed, checking herself in the mirror. She was still wearing the same clothes, which were definitely going to have to go in the bin at this point. That much blood and dirt was never going to come out. Hally quickly touched her hand to her neck, relief flooding through her when she felt her wedding ring still secured around her neck.

Hally very quickly changed her clothes and tied her hair up away from her face. Then proceeded to follow the sound of the music through the TARDIS corridors and into the console room. She spotted the tall silhouette of The Doctor, gently tapping his foot to the music. He'd changed into a brown pinstripe suit and it seemed he wasn't yet aware she was awake.

"New outfit?" Her voice carried over the playing music. The Doctor jumped, turning to her. A bright grin split across his face and he bounded over to her.

"Oh, you're awake?!" He laughed happily. Hally couldn't help but be a little taken aback as he checked her over vigorously.

She let out an awkward laugh, batting his hands away. "I'm fine, honestly. I think I just over did it."

The Doctor wasn't convinced and he narrowed his eyes at her. "Hmmm…Now, I do remember us making a deal not to lie to one another…."

Hally decided to play coy. "I didn't lie." She replied, adding an innocent tone to her voice.

The Doctor crossed his arms over his chest, raising his right eyebrow at her slowly. Hally swallowed, finding herself starting to redden as he continued to look at her, scolding her silently.

Suddenly his expression changed completely again, back to the overly friendly grin. Hally was going to get whiplash. "Anyway, you've woken up just in time! It's Christmas!" He exclaimed brightly.

"It is? How long have I been out for?" Hally looked around the console, there wasn't a sign of Rose.

The Doctor chuckled, waving his hand dismissively. "Only about a day… but a lot has happened! Fought some Sycorax with a sword. Lost a hand, grew a hand. And now Jackie's cooked dinner." The words tumbled so quickly out of his mouth it took a moment for Hally's brain to catch up.

Her eyes widened. "Oh, she has?!"

The Doctor grinned as they both heard Hally's very empty stomach growl in yearning. Out of nowhere, The Doctor pulled Hally into an uncomfortably tight hug. She let out a soft laugh, patting his back lightly.

"Your ribs are poking me…" She mumbled as the hug started to drag.

"Yes!" The Doctor pulled back and grabbed her hand. Dragging her along behind him, out of the TARDIS and into Jackie's flat.

Hally was overjoyed by the amount of food Jackie had prepared and wasted no pleasantries before trying to dig in. Rose laughed and passed her a brightly coloured tube-like object expectantly.

"You can't eat before we do crackers! Those are the rules!"

Hally stared at the ugly 'cracker'. "Well, what do we do with it?"

Rose and Jackie cackled with laughter as The Doctor enthusiastically demonstrated to his daughter the magical function of the Christmas cracker.

"Is that it?" She asked, poking the useless tiny card set that had come out of the cracker. The Doctor nodded goofily, unfolding his paper hat and putting it on his head.

"Humans." She grumbled softly.

After dinner, Jackie rushed in telling them all they needed to look outside. As they all traipsed onto the balcony they noticed the soft white flakes falling from the sky.

"Ooooh, snow!" Hally exclaimed, holding her arms out for the snowflakes to fall into her outstretched hands.

"Oh, it's beautiful. What are they, meteors?" Rose turned to The Doctor, the strange lights in the sky illuminating her face.

"It's the spaceship breaking up in the atmosphere… This isn't snow, it's ash." The Doctor wrinkled his nose.

"Ew, ew, ew!" Hally jumped back, quickly brushing the 'snow' off herself and scuttling back inside.

They stayed late into the evening. Hally couldn't help but smile watching everyone. It was nice. Like a little family. Rose even handed Hally a mug of mulled wine, which she agreed to try gingerly.

"Oh that's much better! You should make it hot all the time!"

The Doctor snorted with laughter.

Finally Rose was saying goodbye to Mickey and her mother. Hally and The Doctor were waiting patiently in the console room.

"Are you sure you're ok?" He asked, watching her with concern. Hally rolled her eyes and laughed.

"Honestly I'm fine. I feel a lot better."

The Doctor nodded slowly, pulling her into another tight, warm hug.

"This is a lot of hugs…"

At that moment Rose came through the door of the TARDIS and The Doctor released Hally. She dumped her bag over the railings and practically skipped over to the two of them.

"So where are we going?" She looked between them both expectantly.

The Doctor grinned, pulling down a lever and setting the TARDIS into flight. "Further than we've ever gone before."

A short few minutes later, the TARDIS materialised and the trio went out to find themselves across the river from a large, thriving city.

"It's the year five billion and twenty-three. We're in the galaxy M87, and this? This is New Earth." The Doctor announced proudly, looking over to Rose who was taking it all in, in awe.

Hally grinned, watching the futuristic cars zooming past overhead.

Rose turned back to grin at The Doctor. "It's beautiful. Oh, I love this. Can I just say, travelling with you, I love it." Her eyes glazed over slightly, never taking them off The Doctor.

The Doctor smiled. "Me too."

Hally smiled, flicking her eyes between the two of them, they were both smiling stupidly at one another. Her smile slowly began to drop as the moment continued and the pair didn't look away.

She coughed awkwardly, catching their attention. "Yeah… anybody loving travelling with me…?" She laughed awkwardly.

Rose wrapped an arm around her shoulder, pulling her in tightly, laughing. "Of course! He's the brains and the driver… I'm the sidekick and you're the witty, muscle."

Hally raised an eyebrow, giving Rose a sideways look. The Doctor pouted, looking a little offended.

"Why can I not be the muscle?"

Both girls laughed hard. "Dad you're like a stick."

He scoffed, motioning back at his daughter. "You're not THAT far off a stick." He sent an accusatory look at Rose. "Why is she the muscle?"

Rose grinned, covering her mouth with her hand as she tried to stifle another laugh. "Because she's got magic powers."

Hally made an indignant noise. "They're NOT magic powers!"

Rose rolled her eyes, sitting herself down on the apple grass. "Okaaay, what is it then? Because it looks like magic… or are you an X-men?!" Her eyes widened excitedly. Hally plonked herself down next to Rose.

"A what?" She raised her eyebrow, looking to The Doctor for help.

"A mutant!" Rose exclaimed.

Hally shot Rose a look. "Excuse me?"

The Doctor let out a bark of laughter. "I suppose technically we could call you a hybrid."

Hally looked between both of them, grimacing. "These are not very flattering words…"

Rose huffed, lying back on her elbows, watching the horizon. "Well, I think we need to think of something to call it…"

Hally just pulled a face at her behind her back.

The Doctor looked over towards the city, following Rose's gaze. "So, the year five billion, the sun expands, the Earth gets roasted…" He began.

"That was our first date." Rose shot him an amused look.

Hally laughed before the words sunk in properly. "Wait. What?"

The Doctor pretended he hadn't heard her, looking back at Rose. "We had chips."

He then continued to briefly explain the colonisation of New Earth to Rose, leaning back on his elbows as they all took in the city. Eventually he motioned over towards two skyscraper white buildings that were settled away from the city. The Doctor stood up and the two women followed him.

"…Some sort of hospital. Green moon on the side. That's the universal symbol for hospitals. I got this. A message on the psychic paper." The Doctor flipped it open, showing them both the message as he spoke.

Ward 26. Please come.

"Someone wants to see me." The Doctor waggled his eyebrows, looking towards the hospital with intrigue.

Rose huffed playfully. "Hmm. And I thought we were just sight-seeing." She smirked at Hally and linked her arms through Hally's and The Doctor's, pulling them towards the buildings. "Come on, then. Let's go and buy some grapes!"

It had been a deceivingly long walk over to the hospital from the TARDIS and both Rose and Hally had again reprimanded The Doctor for always insisting on parking so far away. As they finally made in inside, Rose and The Doctor moved up ahead leaving Hally to have a quick look around. She smiled to herself, watching the people bustling all around. She could still hear Rose bickering playfully with The Doctor up ahead. He whirled around, spotting Hally and pouting.

"No shop. I like the little shop." He whined, putting a frown on his face. Hally let out a short laugh. Both of them turned back to face Rose when they heard her gasp.

"They're cats…" Rose was staring at two of the Sisters as they walked past her, deep in conversation.

"Now, don't stare. Think what you look like to them, all pink and yellow." The Doctor grinned, before pointing over to the far side of the lobby. "That's where I'd put the shop. Right there."

Hally rolled her eyes and wandered past the pair of them, heading towards the lifts. She pressed the call button and held the door open as The Doctor slipped in behind her. "Ward 26, thanks!"

Neither Time Lord had noticed that Rose had fallen so far behind, so weren't prepared when the lift doors slid shut just before she could follow them in.

"It's all right, there's another lift!" They could just about hear Rose call from the other side of the door.

The Doctor tried to shout through the doors for her to meet them at ward 26 and to watch out for the disinfectant, but as the lift ascended further and further up her voice disappeared.

Hally gave her father a look as he stepped back from the doors and into the centre of the lift.

"Please tell me they've already invented dry powder disinfectant…?" Hally groaned when The Doctor simply grinned at her.

"Commence stage one disinfection."

As the voice rang out over the tannoy, both The Doctor and Hally were sprayed directly with a water-based disinfectant. The Doctor just closed his eyes and accepted it but Hally couldn't. She spluttered dramatically and tried to shield her face with her hands.

"Urgh, it's my mouth!"

Finally, the onslaught of water ceased and warm air began to circulate around them, drying them off in seconds.

"You're supposed to keep your mouth closed." The Doctor smiled knowingly as he patted his hair down.

Hally just sent him a murderous glare and swiftly exited the lift as soon as the doors pinged open again. They were swiftly approached by a Sister who looked like the ward matron and who began to escort them around the ward in order to find their patient. Hally let The Doctor and the Sister walk slightly ahead of her. The Doctor was much better at small talk, although she could definitely hear him wittering on about that shop again.

As they passed an open cubicle, Hally couldn't help but look in. On the bed lay a large man whose lower body appeared to be stone. Her mouth dropped open in amazement.

"Excuse me!" A severe woman approached her, waving her hand in Hally's face. "Members of the public may only gaze upon the Duke of Manhattan with written permission from the Senate of New New York." She barked, looking down her nose at Hally.

Hally scoffed and before she could quickly retort that she was actually a Queen and so could do whatever she wanted, The Doctor had appeared back at her side and was peering at the patient in fascination.

"That's Petrifold Regression, right?" He asked, balancing a pair of square glasses on his nose.

Hally raised an eyebrow, looking back to the Duke of Manhattan. That sounded familiar? Hally couldn't help but smile as she realised it was because The Master had once threatened to 'regressively petrify' after she'd failed, yet again to recount string theory. At the time she'd had no idea what he was talking about.

Hally noticed that Sister Jatt was gently ushering The Doctor away and she slipped back into step behind them.

"He'll be up and about in no time." Assured Jatt, sensing The Doctor's distress.

"I doubt it. Petrifold Regression? He's turning to stone. There won't be a cure for oh, a thousand years? He might be up and about, but only as a statue." He raised his eyebrow at the nurse.

She just smiled at him knowingly. "Have faith in the Sisterhood." Turning back to the ward she looked about. "But is there no one here you recognise? It's rather unusual to visit without knowing the patient."

The Doctor's gaze locked onto something to the right of Sister Jatt. Hally followed his gaze and smiled.

"No, I think I've found him." The Doctor smiled knowingly and made his way over to the large container which was placed next to the huge open window, with a beautiful view of the city. The Face of Boe.

Sister Jatt handed them both over to Novice Hame, who was stood tending to the Face of Boe. As Sister Jatt went to leave The Doctor quickly asked her to follow up on where Rose could have gotten to. Assuming the human had gotten lost.

Novice Hame turned to them both, smiling kindly.

Hally smiled back, looking at the Face of Boe. "What's wrong with him?"

Novice Hame clasped her hands together. "I'm afraid the Face of Boe is dying…" She gave them both an apologetic look.

"Are we the only visitors?" The Doctor asked, turning to look at the container.

Hame nodded slowly. "The rest of Boe-kind became extinct long ago. He's the only one left. Legend says that the Face of Boe has watched the universe grow old. There's all sorts of superstitions around him. One story says that just before his death, the Face of Boe will impart his great secret, that he will speak those words only to one like himself."

"What does that mean?" The Doctor looked up at her questioningly.

She shrugged slightly. "It's just a story."

"Tell me the rest."

Hame nodded. "It's said he'll talk to a wanderer. To the man without a home. The lonely God."

Hally silently rolled her eyes, giving The Doctor a meaningful look. He frowned and seemed to think on this for a moment before telling Hally to stay there. He wandered off back towards the reception area of the ward.

"Ok!" She called after him. "I guess I'll just hang out with our dear friend here…" Hally said pointedly, before turning back to the Face of Boe awkwardly.

Hame smiled silently.

Hally placed a hand on the Face of Boe's container, extending her mind slightly to try and telepathically connect with him so she wouldn't have to sit in awkward silence with the nurse. She stretched her neck to look over to where The Doctor was talking on his phone at the reception. Mostly likely talking to Rose.

Hally narrowed her eyes slightly. There was definitely something fishy going on between those two. Ever since he'd regenerated.

"Hmm." Hally mumbled to herself, she supposed The Doctor's new regeneration was more symmetrical than the last. Perhaps that was it, the human was just adjusting to the new symmetry.

Suddenly Rose appeared from one of the lifts, Hally watched as she practically skipped over to The Doctor, chatting away animatedly.

Hally was about to look back at the Face of Boe, when Rose grabbed The Doctor by the sides of his face and kissed him, long and hard. Hally's mouth dropped open and a high pitched squeak of shock stuttered out from her throat.

"What. Is. Happening." She muttered breathlessly, making to move away towards the pair who had finally parted mouths… and were now heading back into the lift.

Before she could take even two steps a gentle voice in her head prompted her to turn back around.

"Stay…"

Hally looked back at the Face of Boe, her eyes still wide and her face very red.

"Oh, so now you decide to speak to me?"

The Face of Boe smiled knowingly and looked towards a visitors chair perched just to the left of his container. Hally huffed, sending one look back to where The Doctor and Rose had been, before sitting in the chair.

Hally noticed that Novice Hame had at some point disappeared and as she slowly relaxed back into the chair she heard the faint whisper of his voice in her mind again.

"I'm truly flattered that the infamous Queen of the Garden has come to visit…" Hally narrowed her eyes at him as she picked up on his slightly teasing tone.

"Well you only really invited my father, so I am a little offended." She smirked slowly, raising her eyebrow.

She heard the soft sound of the Face of Boe chuckling inside her mind. "I wasn't sure you'd be with him, but it's nice to see you again."

Hally frowned slightly at his comment. "Where else would I be?"

The Face of Boe was silent for a few moments. "He has recently changed his face, yes?"

Hally nodded, catching on to his new train of thought. "Yes. He's quite different. I haven't really worked him out yet…" She trailed off, looking back over to where The Doctor had been.

"Are you worried about him?" His voice in her head asked, softly.

Hally looked back at the Face of Boe, laughing. "What? No… I mean I wasn't… should I be worried about him?"

He just smiled silently in response.

Hally, always feeling the need to fill a silence, continued. "I'm not worried. I'd never actually seen him regenerate before. I suppose it's just different. I was only just getting used to travelling with him, the old him. And now he's new."

"Mmhmmm." The Face of Boe mumbled knowingly.

Hally laughed softly. "You already know what I'm thinking."

"Yes." He confirmed, before falling silent. Waiting for her to speak.

"So… I'm worried he might not like me anymore." She admitted after a few moments. "That maybe the last regeneration was some kind of fatherly fluke." She laughed. "But… so far. I don't think that's the case… I hope that's not the case."

The Face of Boe nodded slowly. "You know that is not that case."

"You're very perceptive for an old face." Hally smirked, he laughed fully in her mind, his face pulled into a smile.

The Face of Boe fell silent and moments later there was a loud announcement from over the tannoy system. "This building is under quarantine." Hally stood up suddenly as the doors slammed shut and all the windows were suddenly blocked out by heavy metal shutters.

"Repeat, this building is under quarantine. No one may leave the premises. Repeat, no one may leave the premises."

Hally rushed over to the ward reception area, where it seemed most of the other guests had also decided to congregate. She could hear a few of the visitors demanding answers from the remaining Sisters but they had no helpful information and very soon after, had completely disappeared themselves.

The severe government woman who'd spoken with them earlier was poking her head out of the ward and into the corridor. "Excuse me. Can we get some service?" She called before she let out a shrill scream and stumbled back into the ward, pressing the alarm frantically.

Hally rushed over to her. "What is it?!"

The woman slammed both of the doors to the ward shut, crying out for help.

"What is it?!" Hally asked again. "What's out there?"

The woman turned to her, her eyes panicked and wide. "Death!"

Hally decided it was best to simply help her barricade the door. She'd have to try and make contact with The Doctor to fully understand what was happening. Huffing in irritation that she didn't yet own a mobile phone, Hally tried reaching out her mind to find The Doctor. After a few moments she'd found him, he was travelling up, getting closer to where they were on the ward. However, when she tried to make contact she found his mind was being completely blocked by something.

Realising he was coming up the lift shaft, Hally ran and prised open the lift doors with ease. The Doctor hoisted himself up and through the door, pulling Rose out behind him. The lift doors slamming shut behind them both.

Hally opened her mouth to ask The Doctor what the hell was happening when he rounded on Rose. "That was your last warning, Cassandra!"

Hally frowned, looking at Rose. She was pale, gently propping herself up against the wall she looked at The Doctor, fear and pity in her eyes.

"Inside her head. They're so alone. They keep reaching out, just to hold us. All their lives and they've never been touched."

The Doctor's face softened and he reluctantly offered her his hand.

"Ummm… excuse me. But what did you do?!" Hally looked at them both pointedly. "What is going on?!"

The Doctor frowned at his daughter momentarily before catching on to the fact that she had no idea what was happening. He motioned to Rose and quickly explained about the Sisterhood, the diseased human flesh and Cassandra who was currently hijacking bodies.

Hally looked between the two, dumbfounded. They'd only been gone 15-20 minutes. Maximum?!

Cassandra/Rose was watching Hally, a slow smirk crept across her face as she eyed her up and down. "Mmm… someone's starting to fill out a bit." Cassandra winked scandalously.

Hally shot a terrified look at The Doctor, eyes flicking back to Cassandra. "Please stop…"

The Doctor huffed. "Stop it." He ran a hand through his hair walking further into the ward.

The terrifying, council woman jumped in front of him, brandishing a chair threateningly. The Doctor instantly held up his hands showing her that all of them were clean. She slowly put down the chair, eyeing them all suspiciously.

"There's nothing but silence from the other wards. I think we're the only ones left. And I've been trying to override the quarantine. If I can trip a signal over to New New York, they can send a private executive squad." She informed them, tapping away on her device, keeping one eye on the rest of the room at all times.

"You can't do that." The Doctor commanded. "If they forced entry, they'd break quarantine."

"I am not dying in here." She countered, glaring at him.

"We can't let a single particle of disease get out. There are ten million people in that city. They'd all be at risk. Now, turn that off!" He cried motioning to her communicator. A few people on the ward jumped at the sudden noise.

She just sneered at him. "Not if it gets me out."

The Doctor started pacing frantically. "All right, fine. So I have to stop you lot as well. Suits me. Rose, daughter, everyone! Excuse me, your Grace. Get me intravenous solutions for every single disease. Move it!" He clapped his hands and everyone quickly snapped to it, not daring to question the scary, shouty man.

Hally helped gather as many of the medicine bags as she could, traipsing them back over to the lift where The Doctor was stood. He'd begun to attach the bags to his body. He looked up at Cassandra. "How's that? Will that do?"

"I don't know. Will it do for what?" She flailed slightly, watching him in utter confusion. The Doctor opened up the lift doors, placing the sonic screwdriver between his teeth as he prepared for a run-up. Before anyone could shout otherwise, he'd run and jumped into the lift shaft, hanging onto the cable, legs dangling around in the air.

"What do you think you're doing?!" Cassandra gasped and for once Hally agreed with the skin tag. Hally inched closer to the lift, popping her head through the doors.

"Is this really your best idea?" She muttered at him.

The Doctor just winked and called back to Cassandra. "I'm going down! Come on!"

Hally looked behind her to see Cassandra backing away, uneasily. "Not in a million years."

"I need another pair of hands. What do you think? If you're so desperate to stay alive, why don't you live a little?" He called back at her as the woman with the communicator called to seal the door.

Before Hally could move or consider what was happening, she felt an ice-cold wave penetrate her body. It suddenly felt like her mind was being squashed, smaller and smaller it was pressed, until Hally became vaguely aware that she'd been banished to some corner of her own mind. Hally felt cold, she tried to push back into whatever it was that was squishing her but it didn't budge. She could see herself moving, it was like she was viewing her life through a tiny keyhole, and someone else was in the driver's seat.

"CASSANDRA!" Hally screamed into the abyss that was her own consciousness.

"Yes, sweetie?" She heard the sickly sweet voice reply, a little teasing tickle running through her body.

Hally grimaced. "Get out of my body!"

"Oh don't worry yourself, dear. Go to sleep."

Hally cried out in anger and watched helplessly as her body jumped into the lift shaft, grabbing hold of The Doctor. He looked like he was also shouting something but he couldn't hear anything.

Hally pushed as hard as she could against Cassandra's presence in her body. She was vaguely aware that her body was flying down the lift shaft. Flashes of what was happening in the outside world barely visible to her. They were at the bottom of the shaft, standing on top of the lift. The Doctor was pouring the contents of the medicine bags into the lift disinfectant tank.

For a split second, Hally felt Cassandra's presence waver and she managed to push through to the surface. The Doctor was shouting. "Hold that lever! I'm cooking up a cocktail. I know a bit about medicine myself…"

"No, you don't…" Hally thought, but she realised the sound had actually come out of her mouth.

The Doctor looked up at her suddenly. "Hally?"

Suddenly she was forced back down in a wave of ice-cold, like Cassandra had just poured a bucket of cold water over her. She heard her own voice use Cassandra's words. "Oh no, you don't! Stay down girl!"

Hally only caught fragments of what happened next. The Doctor was in the lift. Disinfectant was pouring onto him and then… then suddenly he was curing them. The diseased humans were being cured one by one.

The next time she became aware of where she was, Hally realised they'd ended up back on ward 26. She watched as The Doctor knelt down to speak to the Face of Boe, watched as he beamed away.

Hally tried again helplessly to push out from under Cassandra's immense pressure in her mind. Trying to weasel her way around the edges of her mind and into the forefront.

The Doctor had turned back on Cassandra, Hally could see him addressing her. "…And now for you."

She heard herself speak again, Cassandra using her words. "But everything's happy. Everything's fine. Can't you just leave me?" She begged.

Hally screamed angrily and for another moment she took control. "No! Get the hell out of me!"

The Doctor and Rose were watching on in confusion as Hally appeared to have a heated discussion with herself.

"Well, this has never happened before… it's a little bit exciting!" Cassandra squealed.

The Doctor shook his head. "You've lived long enough. Leave that body and end it, Cassandra."

Hally could feel Cassandra's consciousness fighting with what The Doctor was saying. Within the cold, she could feel her fear. Feel Cassandra's overwhelming need to survive. For a second Hally almost felt sorry for her.

Hally felt her body turning at the sound of another voice. Her eyes fell on a peculiar creature. Familiarity bloomed from Cassandra's presence and Hally then somehow knew this to be Chip. Cassandra's servant.

She couldn't hear what he was saying, or what her own body was replying, but after a moment relief seemed to flood into Cassandra and before Hally could consider what it meant, the pressure was easing. The creeping cold was rushing out of her mind, out through her veins and into Chip.

Hally's consciousness slammed back into the forefront of her mind and she stumbled. Quickly feeling The Doctor's hands on her arms steadying her. She wobbled in his hold, eyes slowly regaining their focus. She was back.

She looked up at The Doctor who was watching her.

"Yeah. That was horrible…" Hally mumbled and Rose muttered an agreement. "You're telling me."

"Hello. Welcome back." The Doctor sent his daughter a kind smile which she returned.

Chip's voice captured their attention. "Oh, sweet Lord. I'm a walking doodle." Hally straightened up to see Chip, who was now technically Cassandra, examining their arms.

The Doctor shook his head angrily. "You can't stay in there. I'm sorry, Cassandra, but that's not fair. I can take you to the city. They can build you a skin tank and you can stand trial for what you've done."

Cassandra paused for a moment. "Well, that would be rather dramatic. Possibly my finest hour, and certainly my finest hat, but I'm afraid we don't have time…" She looked at Hally and Rose. "Poor little Chip is only a half-life, and he's been through so much. His heart is racing so. He's failing. I don't think he's going to last-" With that Cassandra fell to the floor, Chip's body beginning to fail.

The Doctor was by her side in an instant, holding her steady. "Are you all right?"

"I'm fine. I'm dying, but that's fine."

Hally bit her lip slightly. She'd felt Cassandra's fear in her mind, she knew that the human would be afraid. There had to be something they could do to help her.

Hally's gaze locked with The Doctor's, his face told her that he was thinking the same thing. Gently he helped Cassandra to her feet. "Come on. There's one last thing I can do."

They took Cassandra back to the TARDIS and The Doctor flew them away from New Earth. The TARDIS console room was silent the entire way and when they finally arrived The Doctor stepped forward to assist Cassandra out of the doors.

"…Oh no, don't. Stop it. Simply not true. Tiny. The beaches were so dismal, and the mosquitoes were…" The sound of Cassandra's charismatic voice wafted into the TARDIS as The Doctor opened the doors. Stood in front of them was Cassandra, many years ago, in her true, human form. Living at her peak.

Cassandra in Chip's body turned to look at The Doctor, smiling. "Thank you."

"Just go. And don't look back." The Doctor nodded towards the human Cassandra.

"Good luck." Rose whispered and Hally gave her an encouraging smile.

The trio respectfully watched as Cassandra finally died in her own arms. Hally thought it was rather poetic, a perfect ending for the last human.

Once they were all back on the TARDIS, The Doctor had wasted no time in checking over both his companions hurriedly.

"Everyone alright?!" He asked, looking between them both.

Rose smiled and couldn't help but laugh at the concern on his face. "Yees!"

He nodded and pulled them both into a tight group hug.

Hally groaned softly. "Seriously… I think you've done enough hugging today."

IIIII III

1 December 2007

It had been a few days since her 'episode' as some of the staff were referring to it. Hally was sat in the miserable cafeteria on one of the uncomfortable blue plastic stools. Poking the powdery, grey porridge around the bowl in disgust.

She hadn't seen Dr Saxon in what felt like a long time. Irritation flared up inside her. It seemed like he'd been avoiding her. She'd been expecting to see him pretty soon after trying to attack Courtney, but seemingly she was wrong. Which made no sense whatsoever, but Hally couldn't shake the feeling that that was the point.

A brown, plastic tray was suddenly plopped down opposite her and she looked up into the smug face of the aforementioned inmate. Hally didn't even try to stop the unimpressed scoff that she made as Courtney sat down on the other side of the table, smiling knowingly as she started to eat her own breakfast. The bruise Hally had given Courtney on her jaw had all but disappeared by now, she noticed. A little bitter, considering her own bruise was still an ugly green colour.

Hally rolled her eyes, sending a look over to her 'personal' guard who was stood watching her a few meters away. His back firmly pressed up against the wall. He gave no indication that there was a problem, instead narrowing his eyes at Hally meaningfully.

She looked back down at her breakfast. Choosing instead to simply ignore the girl.

Courtney hummed in amusement, playfully waving at the guard who ignored her. "Well aren't you lucky hmm?" She started.

Hally closed her eyes, taking a deep breath, she brought her spoon up to her mouth, chewing and swallowing the tasteless mush.

"I thought you'd looked so lonely over here all alone…" Courtney continued, Hally could feel her eyes burning into her head.

She sighed softly and looked up at her. "What do you want?"

Courtney smiled sweetly. "What makes you think I want anything? Just saying hi."

"Well… hi, please go away." Hally muttered, looking back down at her food.

Courtney let out a breathy laugh. "So brave aren't you? It must be lonely up there on your moral high ground."

"It's hardly a moral high ground to step in and stop you from attacking a 13-year-old girl." Hally smirked, shooting Courtney a look.

She smiled cruelly. "Yes, but you see your efforts are so useless." She grinned when Hally's brow furrowed slightly in confusion. "Well, you see. You can't touch me." There was a dark glint in Courtney's eye. "But I can do whatever I like to poor little Bethany and no one will even bat an eyelid." Her smile widened and Hally's jaw clenched angrily.

"Don't you dare…" She muttered darkly under her breath.

Courtney grinned, twirling a piece of her long blonde hair through her fingers. "What are you going to do?"

Hally spared another glance over towards the guard, he just stared back at her.

Courtney followed her gaze, smirking. "You're weak. The nasty bruise on your face proves that I'm stronger than you, and our last little encounter proved that you can't even raise a finger at me without our big friend there taking you out. So I ask again. What are you going to do?"

Hally hadn't taken her eyes off of the guard. She estimated that he was probably around 4 meters away. She'd have less than 3 seconds.

That should be enough.

Hally looked slowly back down at her own tray, the bowl of porridge sat neatly on top. "It doesn't matter what happens to me. You aren't going to touch her."

Before Courtney could say anything else, Hally grabbed the edge of the tray, yanked it up and smashed it into the side of Courtney's head. The porridge bowl clattered to the floor and a small spark of pride lit inside Hally's abdomen as she watched Courtney fall to the ground.

Her win was very short-lived however and instantly Hally was tackled to the floor. It had been worth it. Even as she felt the sharp spasm of pain from the Taser being pressed into her back. It had been worth it.

Hally felt a large hand wind into the back of her hair, her head was pushed down suddenly into the floor and everything went black.
