Billy and Mandy's Digital Chronicles Chapter 2
Darkness and numbness filled every portion of her body, but slowly and surely, Mandy began to regain her senses. First was touch, her body had several aches and pains, it was like she fell down several flights of stairs, she also felt the strange sensation of her body being pressed against something hard and smooth, and the feel of something cold and metallic was in her grasp, though she couldn't make out what she was holding. Second was taste, where she could definitely recognise the taste of blood in her mouth, a likely result of whatever pain she's been through.
Third was hearing, despite the pain, a gentle breeze brushed itself against what sounded like grass and leaves, she could even feel the breeze against her hair and skin, this helped her deduce that she must be outside, in a field somewhere. Fourth was smell, she could feel the breeze going to her nostrils, as well as the distinct fragrance of pollen, likely near plants.
Finally, sight, her eyes slowly began to open, and though her vision was incredibly blurry, she could make out things like green, possibly grass, blue, possibly, sky, brown and grey was more difficult for her to process, but eventually, her vision began to focus fully.
Mandy found herself lying on a wooden flooring, looking ahead to see a large open field with trees and a bright blue sky, the grey in her vision were rocks but the brown were the walls of the train carriage she vaguely remembers being inside. Slowly pushing herself up, she goes onto her knees and begins to process what she is witnessing.
She was still inside the train carriage, but it had been ripped in half and shredded to pieces, she was inside what is barely left of it, the chairs scattered all other, glass has been broken up into tiny pieces and scattered everywhere, Mandy even taking notice of the cuts on her arms and hands, she placed her hand on the back of her head feeling a large bump. She takes notice of the field around her, and a forest not far from her where several trees have been smashed and torn apart, most likely from the carriage crashing.
But what struck her as odd the most were the strange details this field and forest had. Typically, trees had lines, bumps, and grooves where they shape and form, and while that is still true, all of the trees have where strange lines that go straight and bend, even having circles at the end of some of the lines, looking very much like the inside of a motherboard.
The leaves had strange square patterns along them, they were still different shades of green, as leaves in the spring time would expect to be, but the square patterns made them almost pixel-like, like someone took computer sprites and blown them up so all the little squares were more visible, and the grass looked the same, but instead of square pixels, it was several thousand dotted shades, looking like green static from a TV Screen.
Mandy felt very puzzled, she's been to several strange worlds in the past, but this almost looked like she was stuck inside some sort of computer world, like a video game, which didn't make sense since she was on a train on an island not too long ago, or was it long ago?
"How long was I out, and where the hell am I?"
Mandy looked around some more, she took a deep breath and began to think things through carefully, starting with recollecting what happened, to make sure she was still thinking clearly and hasn't suffered any form of memory loss.
"Let's see… we went down a different river because we were bored of the camp, we were dragged onto an island… then we met this man who had Pandora's Box, but he was a mummy of some kind, he had bandages that wrapped around me… then he detached the train, and we went falling…"
Mandy felt a sharp pain in her head, this part of her memories was extremely fuzzy, likely a result of her hitting her head during the crash, but after another deep breath, she began to recall things slowly.
"Yeah… Junior grabbed all of us and attempted to shield us from the impact… but… right. The carriage ripped in half, and he lost his grip… and we scattered… I tried to get my footing, but glass broke and flew at me, I lost my footing too and hit my head on the ceiling."
Mandy looked back at the impact and the number of trees she smashed through, she raised an eyebrow and let out a sigh, realising she was lucky she didn't come out of this with greater injuries, or worse.
She looked around some more, realising there was no sign of anyone else. She crossed her arms and began to think to herself again. Trying to recall more of what happened, to see if she can get some sort of idea who might be nearby, judging by who flew out of the carriage first. But she huffs in frustration, she can't recall anything else. But only now does she take notice of the cold metal thing she had in her grasp.
She opened her right hand and saw that she was holding onto a small, strange device, somewhat rounded, had four buttons on the bottom, a screen on the top, two shoulder buttons and six smaller buttons next to the screen, three on the left and right, the buttons and ring around the screen were a bright pink colour.
"What the hell is this?"
"I see you're finally awake." Said an unfamiliar female voice.
Mandy jumped and looked around. "Who's there!?" she looked around some more, but no one in sight.
"My, not very perceptive, I see." The voice then chuckled, giving off a strange hissing sound to her laughing, like she laughed through her teeth.
"I mean it! Quit hiding!" said Mandy, feeling more irritated.
"Look to your left." Mandy did so, looking further into the broken carriage. "Good, now look up."
Mandy did so again, and to her surprise, she saw what looked to be a tiny pointy eared void with yellow eyes, peering down at her from the broken carriage's roof. The light from the sun made it difficult to distinguish.
"Not bad." Said the small eared void. "I was waiting for a while for you to wake up, so I did a bit of patrolling to keep you safe."
Mandy raised an eyebrow suspiciously. "Pretty kind of you to do to a stranger." Her tone implied that whoever or whatever this void was, she suspected said void had an ulterior motive.
The void laughed again, in the same hissing style. "To you, I am a stranger, but to me… well I got the four-one-one about you the moment you stepped into the gate, Mandy."
Mandy hardly felt surprised this void knew her name but crossed her arms looking back at it. "Alright, so you know my name, am I supposed to be scared?"
"How you wanna react is up to you, but know that to this day, we are partners." Before Mandy could respond, the void, in what felt like an instant, jumped down from the roof and her appearance was no longer concealed by the sunlight.
To Mandy's confusion. This pointy eared void was in fact a black cat, it had purple points at the tip of her ears, piercing yellow eyes, and a tail that zigzagged, with purple and black stripes going across it, with three large purple furry points at the tip. But it's most distinguished characteristic were the large purple gloves with three thick sharp claws, and red stripes on the side of each glove. This cat had a particularly smug look that was slightly irritating to Mandy, but it also had an apple in its left paw.
"What'sa matter, never seen a cat before?" she responded with.
"Not one like you."
"Well get used to it." The cat then proceeded to chuck the apple towards Mandy which she catches with her spare hand. "Like I said, we're partners from here on out."
"And who decided that? I sure didn't." Mandy then took a bite out of the apple before looking back at this cat.
"That little gadget you got in your hand." Mandy looked back at the small device in her hand the cat was pointing to. "You see, when a human enters the Digital World, they are assigned a Digimon to be their partner. This partner's duty is to protect them from harm, be it from the environment or from hostile Digimon. That thing you have is called a Digivice, it's essentially proof we are connected."
Mandy raised an eyebrow again, before taking another bite from the apple, once she swallowed, she spoke up again. "So… that explains why what I've seen so far seems computer-like. And what exactly is a Digimon?"
"It's short for Digital Monsters, creatures who inhabit the Digital World, some are good, some are bad, some are civil, some are feral, but we all have different shapes and sizes. As for me, you can call me BlackGatomon."
"Black… Gato… mon?" Mandy pondered the name for a moment. "Gato is Spanish for cat… black for your colour… and mon as in the mon in Digimon… interesting concept."
BlackGatomon nods. "Course, you can always just call me Black or Gato if you think my name is too long for you." Her tone definitely implied that Mandy might be too dumb to recall her full name, but it was implied in a way that seemed more mischievous and joking rather than malice. This definitely gave Mandy the impression that this Digimon enjoys being mischievous.
Mandy soon finished the apple and threw the core away. "Thanks, but no thanks. I hate cats, and the idea of having one as a partner makes me wanna vomit."
BlackGatomon simply shrugs with her smug look. "I'm not big on monkeys either, yet here I am. Neither one of us has a choice in this."
"Why not?"
"When a Digimon's fated partner has arrived, they must go to them and help them, be their partners, their guardians and their friends." BlackGatomon then proceeded to scratch the back of her ear with her back paw for a moment. "And as for you, well you'd hardly last a day without me."
"Puh-lease. I've fought several monsters bigger and scarier than you; I don't need some smug furball to cover my back."
BlackGatomon looks at her smugly, then shrugs her shoulders. "Fine, have it your way… but I'm gonna stick around anyway, because it'd be boring to just stay home, plus watching you get your butt smacked around all over the place trying to survive might be pretty entertaining."
Mandy raised her eyebrow again, this time becoming irritated by this cat's attitude. "Fine. But get in my way and I'll turn you into violin strings!"
BlackGatomon snickers a little after shrugging again. "Deal." And she just sat down like a cat and stayed quiet.
The two stared at each other awkwardly, Mandy kept her usual scowl, and BlackGatomon kept her smug look. There was a silence for at least a minute.
"Mandy?"
The two felt a bit surprised over the sudden voice, they both looked over to the field and out came a familiar face alongside an unfamiliar face.
It was Pud'n. He walked out of the trees looking somewhat scruffy, like he had been pulled from a bush backwards, and behind him was a short grey canine-like critter with long ears, long black claws on his forelimbs and a long cat like tail with three black belts around it. This creature had a bit of a scowl to it as well, as he walks on two legs behind Pud'n, being only a foot shorter than him, given Pud'n was the shortest of the group.
"Pud'n? You're alive?" asked Mandy.
"Yeah, somehow…" he said as he rubbed his right shoulder. "Have you seen the others?"
"No. I just woke up myself."
Pud'n soon notices BlackGatomon and has a surprised look to him. "Oh, you have a Deggima too?"
"It's DIGIMON!" said the Canine-like creature with an irritated tone to him."
"S-Sorry." Said Pud'n sheepishly.
Mandy tilts her head to BlackGatomon while facing Pud'n. "This cat called me her partner, but she's just gonna be deadweight."
The canine-like creature crossed his arms. "Feeling's mutual on my end."
Pud'n noticed but ignored it as he turned to Mandy again. "So did you get one of those Digivice things too?" Pud'n pulls out the exact same kind of device Mandy has, but notices that instead of it having pink colours, it was grey instead.
Mandy nods. "Yeah."
BlackGatomon then jumps down from the broken carriage and approaches the two. "Name's BlackGatomon, by the way, buddy." She said with a somewhat smug tone.
"Gazimon." Said the canine. "And we're not buddies."
Mandy soon steps out of the carriage to approach Pud'n and Gazimon. "Well, no point sticking around here, we'd better look around to see if we can find anyone else."
Pud'n nods. "Agreed, and we'd better find food for survival too."
"I can do that. I'll be right back." Gazimon soon got on all fours and dashed off into the forest. Mandy and Pud'n don't hesitate to follow Gazimon, with BlackGatomon following behind them.
About ten minutes had passed and they followed Gazimon, who much like a dog, sniffed the ground and searched around, they managed to find some fruit but not as much as they had hoped, thankfully Mandy had a bag on her hip, and Pud'n had his jumper with deep pockets, so both can store some food, but not much, so Mandy made a deduction that they'll have to forage for food every day since they cannot store nearly as much.
As they followed Gazimon, Mandy looked behind her to see BlackGatomon following behind by about eight to ten feet, continuing to have that smug look to her. She did notice that BlackGatomon seemed to have been acknowledging her previous statement about not getting in her way, but she couldn't help but think that BlackGatomon was only doing so as a method of playing rather than respecting her demand.
"Hm!?"
Mandy and Pud'n stopped seeing Gazimon stop in his place, he then began to sniff the air, like he caught something,
"What did you find?" asked Pud'n.
Gazimon looks to the left and right. "I've picked up a foreign scent… smells strange… I don't recognise it at all?"
BlackGatomon suddenly appears on a tree branch in front of them. "It could be another human." They look up to her.
Gazimon then looks to the right. "It doesn't smell like these humans though… It's coming from over there."
"Can you take us there?" Pud'n asked, Gazimon didn't respond, instead he went to the right where he caught the scene, he moved quickly so the others followed, picking up their pace, with BlackGatomon jumping from tree to tree.
About thirty seconds of running in one direction, Gazimon stops and looks at what he was smelling. Mandy and Pud'n stop to just behind Gazimon to see what he was seeing. It was a bag that you would strap to your hip, similar to what Mandy has. But the pattern and design are different, yet familiar.
"A bag?" Gazimon then picked it up and opened it up, he placed his claws into the bag and pulled out a small, cracked spray bottle with a pink liquid that had seeped out into the interior. "This is what I smelled… what the heck is it?"
Pud'n gently takes the bottle and looks at it. "It's perfume, you spray it to make you smell like whatever's in it."
"Seems pretty dumb to do so, anyone on the hunt could track you."
"It's Mindy's perfume…" said Mandy, recognising the bottle from whenever Mindy did her make up. She then huffs in frustration. "Guess Mindy is nearby too."
"Yeah." Said Pud'n. "But where-"
They were cut off as something appeared to them instantly, a series of purple tendrils shot out from the left of them and wrapped themselves around Mindy's bag, snatching it from the surprised Gazimon's claws and being yanked back.
The four look to see a new creature. A green, bipedal, Mandrake-like critter with a tail, and small bumps lining its back. It has large, root-like feet and foliage-like hands. Each hand has three purple-tipped vines that act like fingers. The top of its head is adorned with a purple flower with a long stamen. This creature stared at them for a moment, before running off into the bushes.
"That was an Aruraumon." Said BlackGatomon as she jumped down from the tree and stood with them.
"Could she be Mindy's Digimon?" asked Pun'n. "We better follow."
Pud'n goes to follow where the Aruraumon went, with Gazimon making a faint huff before following. Mandy soon follows after, hoping whatever position Mindy is in, it's bad.
It took them five minutes, but they eventually discovered an open area in the forest. There they saw Aruraumon running up to a tree, and there they saw Mindy herself, sitting on top of a large tree branch. Mindy herself had her clothes somewhat messed up, though her hair and make-up seemed worse, though her expression seemed less scared and cowardly compared to what she usually had in bad situations.
Aruraumon then stretched the claws holding her bag, carrying it up to Mindy who gently takes it. "T-Thanks."
"You're welcome." Aruraumon said calmly, before taking a few steps away.
Mindy was then seen taking her make-up tools out and began to fix her make-up. Mandy soon huffed, feeling annoyed that Mindy seemed to be in the best position compared to the others, hardly hurt, just a bit messed up.
Aruraumon turned to the others and had a slight surprised look to her, before smiling. "Oh, you're the folks I met earlier."
Mindy took notice of Aruraumon and then looked over to see Mandy, Pud'n and their Digimon. The moment she saw Mandy, she immediately had an extremely angry look to her. "YOU!"
Everyone looked over to Mindy, Mandy herself raising an eyebrow at her. "Yup. I'm still alive too." Mandy said bluntly.
"NO! This is all your fault!" Mindy then climbed down the tree and marched up to her. "If you hadn't of gotten us on that train! We wouldn't be in this mess!"
"And do you think we even had a choice?"
"Of course we had a choice you stupid hack! We could've just walked away! But NO! You decide we should go in! if this had been a horror movie, you would've died first!"
Mandy growls slightly as Mindy's yelling. "Our boat got trashed! Plus, you heard what that mummy man did, he was dragging our boat to the island!"
"Yeah! AFTER you volunteered us to go down that river! This stupid trap was all your fault!"
"HEY! You agreed with that too! Saying it was better for your skin or something! Besides! What else could we have done!?"
"I don't know! But there could've been anything! Maybe build a raft! Called for Grim! Anything but going into the clearly obvious trap! It's your fault we're stuck here! It's your fault Irwin got stabbed! Everything here is your fault!"
"EVERYTHING is that damn freak's fault!" Mandy shouted. "HE stole Pandora's Box! HE dragged us here! And HE stabbed Irwin! I don't know what the hell that guy is planning, but he's clearly the one responsible for all of this!"
"ENOUGH!" Shouted Gazimon. Making everyone look at him. "Look, I don't give a crap who's fault it is! But blaming each other like a buncha dumb humans is just gonna get you nowhere and will attract predators!"
"Indeed." Aruraumon spoke calmly, they look over to her. "Aggression and blaming will just do damage to your skin and composure. We should approach this more calmly. Allow me."
To Mandy's surprise, a massive cloud of yellowish mist burst from Aruraumon's flower that enveloped everyone. She coughed a little, but soon she felt strange, she felt strangely calm, all of her anger towards Mindy and her tone was melting away rapidly. Losing aggression that fast was extremely foreign to her.
Mandy looked to see the others looked more relaxed, especially Gazimon who usually seemed aggressive, but even he looked calmed. BlackGatomon looked unaffected, but at the same time, she was a little further away so she might have not been breathing in as much.
After a few seconds, the mist dissipated, when Aruraumon puts her arms behind her back and smiles. "There, are we all feeling better?"
Mandy soon sighed feeling a bit frustrated, she turned to Mindy expecting to talk back to her, but she couldn't bring herself to say anything aggressive, or even feel angry towards her, she felt extremely conflicted.
Pud'n then speaks up sheepishly. "I think it's best that we just try to find the others and focus on survival… you know… instead of arguing whose fault it is?" Gazimon nods, agreeing with Pud'n.
Mandy and Mindy looked at each other, sighed in sync and look back to Pud'n. "If we find that strange mummy-like man who stole Pandora's Box, we'll surely get some answers too." Said Mandy.
"Agreed… but trying to take him on by ourselves might not be a good idea, he got the advantage on us last time. We should find the others first." Said Mindy.
Mandy sighs a little. "But he has Pandora's Box, if we don't find him and stop him, he could open it and end the world."
Mindy nods. "Yes, which is why we should find them fast. If they have Digimon partners too, then that's fourteen against one." She then takes her Digivice from her belt to show it to Mandy, hers was the same as theirs, but red.
Mandy was silent for a moment, then speaks up. "Fine, we should find the others, get supplies for the road, and find that mummy man."
"Yeah, let's hunt for supplies and see if we can find someone else or a hint to their location." Said Mindy. "We'll get much more progress done if we split up."
"Yeah."
Soon they all split up with their respective Digimon. As Mandy and BlackGatomon walked on, she mumbled to herself. "Get blasted by a yellow mist and I'm suddenly civil with Mindy… the sooner we leave this world, the better."
An hour had passed, and the three, while separated from each other, still crossed over occasionally, storing any food in what little containers they had, from Mandy and Mindy's hip bags, and Pud'n's jumper pockets.
Mandy was struggling the most, climbing trees to grab apples, finding berries in bushes and some nuts on the grass. She would've done more, but BlackGatomon had been jumping from branch to branch, and doing nothing but lazing about, Mandy told her she should help, but BlackGatomon responded by saying she would get in her way and is respecting her demand. Though Mandy knew hands down BlackGatomon is only respecting her demand more out of spite than anything.
Pud'n was doing extremely well, more so thanks to Gazimon using his strong sense of smell to sniff out any food, Pud'n kept his distance from Gazimon despite their supposed partnership. Despite Gazimon being seemingly loyal to Pud'n, and is willing to help out, but there's been a feeling of reluctancy and bitterness from Gazimon, as if he's doing more out of obligation than willingness. In addition to Gazimon having a bad temper and attitude, plus the dirty looks he gives Pud'n every now and then. Pud'n hasn't spoken up about it, he just knows enough to just let Gazimon do his thing.
Mindy and Aruraumon were taking things slowly, Mindy was more focused on fixing her bag and sorting her make-up equipment and trying to fit them in with any food she's picked up, then there was the matter of cleaning off the liquids from her broken perfume bottle.
"Tch. That was an expensive bottle of perfume too!" She lets out a sigh before turning back to Aruraumon who had grabbed a few apples from the branches by her extended tendrils, before walking back to Mindy who had just finished wiping away the last of the liquids with a spare tissue.
"If it makes you feel any better, your bag smells nice."
"Yeah but it's stained now. Argh! Mandy, that idiot! She owes me a new bag and perfume!"
Aruraumon smiles and tilts her head. "Don't worry, Mindy. I'm sure she'll pay you back, but it's wise to keep a level head. The Digital World is not a safe place."
Mindy rolled her eyes at Aruraumon as she placed her bag back on her hip. "Whatever. Let's just find more food and get going."
"Of course." Aruraumon nods.
The two walk some more until they spot something to the left of them. Mindy spotted something round and coloured poking out of a bush. She walks up to it and places her hands on it to pick it up, it was weirdly smooth, but once she picks it up, to her surprise, it was a large egg. This egg was coloured red and had a white top that was separated by a zigzag and was just smaller than a football.
"Wow, look at the size of this egg, I bet we could make a great omelette with this." Said Mindy feeling quite proud of her find.
"Ah, wait." Said Aruraumon looking concerned. "That's no ordinary egg, that's a Digi-Egg. Digimon hatch from them."
Mindy looked back at Aruraumon. "So, we can't eat this?"
"I'm afraid not."
Mindy huffs. But before she could say anything else, they were both startled by the sound of high-pitched shrieking. Both of them look down to see a round pink fluffy critter with wide blue eyes, a tiny bill, small pink wings, and a tiny red and yellow feather on the top of its head. This tiny pink puffball bounced up and down shrieking.
"Awww! Cutie!" Mindy squealed, seeing this adorable round bird. "Hi little fella!" She then proceeded to try and pet the bird, but it kept squawking at her and trying to peck her hand, though it felt harmless, Mindy thought it was playing.
Aruraumon looked startled as she gently took the egg from Mindy's hand, surprising her. She then placed the egg next to the fluffy bird. It soon stopped squawking and began to nuzzle against the egg.
"That's a Poromon, Mindy. That egg must belong to it."
"Huh." Mindy looked back down at the Poromon and Egg. "But it looks like a baby bird. Where's the mama bird?"
SQUAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRWWK!
Mindy and Aruraumon were violently startled by the sudden ear-piercing shriek from the skies, the two look up behind them to see a colossal sized bird swooping down at them. It looked like a giant red bald eagle with bull horns, and a violent glare to it. As it flew down closer to them, it stretched out it's talons at them, Mindy felt a massive chill knowing exactly what this means.
"OH SHIT! OH SHIIIIT!"
Mindy began to run, but before she could even get a few steps in, the giant bird suddenly grabbed Mindy in one talon, and the Poromon and Egg in another and took off with blinding speed. Mindy screamed her lungs out as Aruraumon, in a blind panic, shot her tendrils out at the talon Mindy is being held onto to try and pull her back, only to get dragged away herself.
Mandy, BlackGatomon, Pud'n and Gazimon soon reunite in an open area. Pud'n's jumper pockets were overflowed with fruit, berries, and nuts, it almost looked like the pockets would rip. Whereas Mandy's hip bag didn't have nearly as much, but it was smaller than Pud'n's pockets anyway.
"Hey Mandy. Gazimon found a lot of food for us."
"Scavenging and foraging is my specialty." Gazimon responded, with a tone that made it sound like it was obvious.
Mandy nods. "Good, now we just need to wait for-"
They're cut off by the sound of Mindy screaming from a distance and they look to their right, to see a giant bird flying off with Mindy in it's talons and Aruraumon clinging on via her vines.
Gazimon steps back with a shocked looked to him. "A-AQUILAMON!"
"Aquilamon!?" asked Pud'n. "What's that?"
"That great beast is fast and can see from a great distance. And it looks like you're red-head friend pissed him off somehow."
"W-We gotta help her!" exclaimed Pud'n. "Where is he taking her to!?"
"Login Mountain." Gazimon pointed to a large mountain over the distance where they can see Aquilamon flying towards. "But if you really wanna save that idiot, good luck, it's a massive climb."
Mandy looks over to the mountain, then shrugs. "In that case, forget it. We should focus on the others and Pandora's Box."
"But we might need her too." Said Pud'n.
"If you wanna go climb that gigantic mountain and save her ungrateful spoiled ass, be my guest, but you're just gonna end up dead."
Gazimon nods. "She's right, that mountain takes a lot of skill and endurance to get through."
"Eeyup. Mindy's a goner." Said BlackGatomon in her smug tone, everyone else looked over to her.
"Yeah. I was looking forward to finally seeing her bite it." Mandy responds.
BlackGatomon soon scratched the back of her ear before speaking up again. "Yup, but it's a shame we won't see it."
Mandy raised an eyebrow. "Elaborate."
"Well, we can't really SEE her die, I mean she's all the way over on that mountain. Sounds like we might be missing an opportunity of a lifetime." BlackGatomon then shrugged a little. "But you are right, going up to that mountain would be suicide… so we should probably just get going."
Mandy gave a heinous look to BlackGatomon, she knew she was right in needing to find the others and the man that stole Pandora's Box, but she's been annoyed and antagonised by Mindy for so long, watching her die at the hands of some terrifying creature is something she's wanted for so long, and she felt like she was going to miss it.
Mandy looked back to the mountain, then back to BlackGatomon. She let out an irritated sign. "Let's go, I'm not missing this." She then made her way towards the direction where Login Mountain is.
Gazimon looked at Mandy surprised, then looked over to BlackGatomon, and she gave a sly wink before following Mandy. He growled angrily, also noticing Pud'n looking at him concerned.
"Um, Gazimon? Do you know how to scale the mountain?"
Gazimon sighed. "I do. Follow me, and don't get in my way!" He then went on all fours and took the lead of the group, Pud'n quickly picked up the pace and went alongside Mandy and BlackGatomon, who stayed near the back continuing to have that smug look to her.
End of Chapter
So, I have decided that chapters will only need to be as long as I feel they need to be, though I may be going onto the shorter end so they can be uploaded sooner. Plus, since this is being made up as it goes along, shorter chapters work better so I can get potential feedback or suggestions for future chapters.
I also wanna give a thanks to Fangs of Death who made a comment suggesting the Digimon the kids to have, while I didn't use their exact suggestion, I used it as a reference to give me an idea of what to include. I have them jotted down just in case, but I don't know if I'll use them, but it helps to have notes.
In any case, I'm open to ideas for suggestions to try and include in this story, it's being made up as it goes along, but I know the further we go, the more story roots will grow.
Either way, hope you enjoyed this chapter.
