Ever since Brooklyn had been able to reconnect with Goliath in a way, his leader wound up wanting to do more combat training with Brooklyn now that his weight was nearly back to normal.

Coldfire had weighed Brooklyn that night and it was now at 214, which made Brooklyn smile more, rubbing his stomach, happy to not be feeling so flabby anymore.

"Oh sweetie, you look so much fresher than the first night you came back." Coldfire praised, petting Brooklyn's hair, who laughed lightly, liking that he could laugh again after his capture.

"I am looking forward to being able to feel like myself once more," Brook stated with his smile but inside, he was a little nervous about fighting again after failing to be a good warrior while captured by Coldsteel.

His 'mother' put a hand on his cheek. "It was wonderful being able to help you be back to your normal self." Coldfire stated though Brooklyn wasn't so sure.

Brooklyn swallowed a little, rubbing his arm. "Not sure if I'll ever be the same again, especially since before being possessed." He admitted in a shy tone, still rather guilty from touching Coldstone's body in the first place.

"You can continue to live, whether you're different or not. Don't let whatever my brother tells you make you hurt yourself anymore," Coldfire said gently, squeezing Brooklyn's hand but not too tight since she was made of metal.

Suddenly, Broadway showed up, for he had an offer for his brother. "Hi, bro. Maybe you would like to make something with me in the kitchen?" He asked, swishing his tail.

Brooklyn turned to Broadway in some surprise at the offer since usually Broadway hogged the kitchen and did all the cooking, never once having been invited in there. He wound up nodding, eager to get some kind of fun in before he sparred with Goliath later before sunrise.

Broadway grinned back at his red brother before leading him out, Coldfire nodding encouragingly to her adopted little one, who had turned back to look at her.

When the brothers reached the kitchen, Broadway decided to pull out the things they would need to make cookies since he knew that recipe would be the easiest for Brooklyn to make. Brooklyn stood to the side by the fridge, his stomach rumbling a little at the idea of having one of his brother's cookies since he usually enjoyed them the most.

Broadway put out the flour bag and gestured Brooklyn over. "I'll let you mix the ingredients, how about it?"

Brooklyn rubbed his arm, but he nodded again, pouring what Broadway instructed him to do. Lexington and Angela had heard about what was going on in the kitchen so the two of them peeked inside to see their saddened brother looking rather happy, having finished mixing in the ingredients by now and were rolling the cookie dough into balls on the pan.

Angela smiled, for she preferred to see Brooklyn not being so unhappy and would like to try out whatever they were making.

Brooklyn and Broadway, who both covered in flour, had by now put the cookies into the oven, laughing and wiping their foreheads from how exhausting it was to make the cookies.

Brooklyn had tears of happiness in his eyes. "Thanks, I-I needed this," Brooklyn said in a shy voice, his wings wrapped around him while the cookies baked. Broadway had a hand on his shoulder.

"No problem. We all want you to be happy, bro." Brooklyn's tears of happiness fell further until soon the oven finished up with the baking, Broadway taking them out.

Lexington came along inside, grinning at the sight of all the cookies there. "They look great, Brook!" He praised Brooklyn, who was blushing since he never usually baked so much in his spare time.

The Trio all picked one up and ate them together side by side, feeling like they were hatchlings once again. Brooklyn turned red from embarrassment, though Broadway handed him a cookie, which he accepted.

The Trio together ate their cookies, Brooklyn feeling better about eating this kind of junk food without Coldsteel's evil eyes watching. Anything his brother made healthy or not tasted amazing. Brooklyn even wound up laughing from a joke Lexington told him, which had Broadway grin at the sound of his red brother's laugh once again.

After eating his last cookie, Brooklyn spoke up again. "You-you know I was nervous about eating junk food again after what that jerk did to me." He told Broadway, which had Broadway put a hand on his brother's arm.

"Brooklyn, junk food isn't completely evil. We mostly wanted you to eat healthy food first before I wanted to make cookies with you again."

The beaked gargoyle felt happy from what Broadway said, though he wouldn't eat too many in case it caused his body to gain weight again. Coldfire had come into the room then, grinning at the sight of her young hatchling being able to have a nice moment among his brothers. Brooklyn gazed up at her. "What is it, Mom?"

"Goliath wishes to have his sparring lesson with you soon, sweetie. He says to meet him in the courtyard before sunrise." Coldfire replied, causing Brooklyn's happy bubble inside his belly to pop a bit, wondering if he even still had it in him to fight someone like his leader, standing up rather shakily.

"O-Ok." He stammered, waving to his brothers before following Coldfire out of the room.

The two of them made their way to the courtyard where Brooklyn saw Goliath there, his ears rather flat right now, not quite looking forward to this but desperately wanted to get his fighting skills back online. Coldfire squeezed his hand gently before having Brooklyn go on his own from there.

Goliath smiled at his Second, watching him walking forward rather timidly in the way he normally walked with his feet and hands, slightly hunched but struggling to be brave. "I will make this easy for you as much as possible, Brooklyn. But please do your best to not focus on your anger when fighting."

Brooklyn flapped his wings nervously as he nodded, the two males beginning to circle each other, ready to fight. Goliath's eyes glowed as he growled, taking the first swing at Brooklyn, who yelped, dodging his leader's strike and scurrying out of the way. But Goliath's tail grabbed Brooklyn's foot then, swinging him over to the side that slightly knocked the breath out of him.

"Watch for my tail!" Goliath instructed. Brooklyn rubbed his head as he stood up, ready to do his own attack now. He roared, doing a kick at Goliath, but it barely pushed him back a couple inches, no thanks to his weak muscles, which frustrated Brooklyn, baring his teeth.

Goliath swung his fist again and before Brooklyn could move, it hit him hard but not enough to hurt, wincing. The anger built a little more inside Brooklyn, rubbing his jaw. So far, he hardly won anything, like usual.

Brooklyn staggered to his feet, glaring back at Goliath, a low snarl coming from his throat as he let his anger attack for him, charging blindly again, swiping with his talons more than his fist.

It made the lavender gargoyle's eyes widen in surprise from Brooklyn's more anger filled attack, blocking as much as he could until at last, Brooklyn's talons slashed Goliath's shoulder rather roughly, making several scratch marks there.

Goliath roared in pain, throwing Brooklyn away from him. Brooklyn flinched when hitting his head that snapped him out of his anger. Brooklyn shook his head, staring at what had happened, and gasped in fright at the sight of the wounds on his leader's shoulder. Did he do that?

"Goliath, I-I'm so sorry! I'm sorry!" Brooklyn trembled, backing away from his leader, expecting a rebuke for his attack since usually in sparring they never hurt one another physically. Goliath mostly held his shoulder but put out his other hand to Brooklyn, who was shrunk into a position making him look small and helpless, unlike earlier in his fighting.

Brooklyn watched intently until he then accepted his leader wouldn't hurt him back, taking the hand shakily, Goliath pulling him up. "You never attack someone in anger like that Brooklyn, but I am impressed you were able to even scratch me." Goliath claimed with some softness in his eyes.

The red male however, looked down. "But I hurt you." He protested, his guilt rising up again.

Goliath held up his chin. "It is only just the beginning of our practices. Soon, you'll get better in case he returns, and you can battle him better when that time comes."

Waves of doubt went through Brooklyn, ears still flat. "Don't want to see Coldsteel ever again." He pleaded, but Goliath gave him an assuring smile.

"You are bold and strong inside, Brooklyn. We will help you find it and have you return to your normal self." Brooklyn wiped tears from his eyes, eventually hugging Goliath, though avoiding the wounds he gave him. Elisa could wrap them up when they went back inside.

Brooklyn, however, still felt like Coldsteel was watching him despite being far away, thinking he could appear at any moment and figured maybe he could make something to protect his body from those sharp metal talons.
