Once Mark left the room to get back to work and Logan and Finn were alone, Logan sighed deeply. He crossed his arms behind his head and leaned back in his chair. Finn already knew but wanted to make him say it. "What's up, Mate?"

"Finn, do you ever think that the universe wants certain people in your life and no matter what, they just appear?" Logan asked quietly.

"Oh yeah," Finn replied. "I've tried to quit redheads probably two dozen times but they just keep popping up. I can't say no!"

Logan chuckled, "No, that's not what I meant. I said goodbye to Rory over four years ago and now it seems like she's back in my orbit."

Finn frowned. "Just because of the planetarium thing?"

"Well that and I had the strangest thing happen to me recently," Logan said. I was walking home from work and I ran across this woman on the verge of delivering a baby, so I helped her get to the hospital. You'll never guess who the damn ER doctor was!"

"No, who?" Finn asked earnestly.

"I couldn't believe it. We chatted briefly and he asked if I went to Yale. He said he recognized my picture - the doctor was the guy who is engaged to Rory! He seemed alright, I guess, but I've done everything possible to avoid talking to her or seeing her for YEARS. And now I can't shake these people! Isn't that a weird coincidence?" Logan asked.

Finn nodded. "That is the weirdest thing I've ever heard. She was having a baby on the street? Did you get to see it come out? I've always wanted to see one come out!"

"Oh, fuck, no, Finn!" Logan threw a pen at his friend, which Finn dodged. "I called an ambulance for her. She grabbed my hand and dragged me with her so I went to the hospital. Her husband was stuck in Seattle so I hung around for a little while and maybe chartered a jet to get him back here."

Finn nodded. None of this surprised him - chartering a plane for a stranger was not out of the realm of possibility for the friends. Money was always plentiful and if they could help someone, they almost always did. "So he saw a picture of you? So Rory keeps pictures of you around enough that he has seen them? Interesting..."

Logan scrunched up his face. "Yeah, I guess so. She never liked to get rid of stuff so I can totally see her having pictures and stuff around."

"I wasn't going to mention this, but since you brought up Gilmore, I guess I should. Colin and I just had lunch with her." Finn confessed.

Logan was incredulous. "You what? How the hell did that happen?"

Finn nervously said, "Well, Colin ran into her and they chatted. They decided to have lunch and they asked me along. We didn't think you'd mind," he stammered.

"YOU DIDN'T THINK I'D MIND?!" Logan bellowed. "ARE YOU SERIOUS?"

"To be completely honest, we didn't think you would ever find out..." Finn said softly.

Logan nodded and finally asked, "Well, how is she? Is she happy?"

Finn shrugged. "She's good. She seems bored, I reckon. She likes her job but seems like something is missing."

Logan frowned, "Maybe it has something to do with the fiancé. He's perfectly harmless but doesn't seem like who I would picture her with."

"You mean because he isn't you?" Finn hit the nail on the head.

"No, of course not!" Logan replied quickly. Then he reconsidered, "Well, maybe." Then he relented, "Yeah, I guess. I never imagined her with anyone but me. Finn, I can't believe she's with that guy," he whined.

"Yeah? Why not?" Finn pried.

"Rory? As a doctor's wife? Raising babies, driving a minivan? I just can't picture it. She's meant to do great things. That guy was made for the suburbs with a family practice somewhere small and boring," Logan admitted.

Finn was quiet for a while then finally asked, "Do you want her back? You both live here in New York now. Its possible, you know..."

Logan quickly answered, "No, of course not. I don't even know her anymore. I wouldn't dream of messing up her life. The picture I saw of her looked happy. If she's happy, I want her to stay happy and leave her alone."

Finn pressed a little more, "But if there's a chance?"

Logan shook his head, "No. Finn she said no. I asked her to marry me and she said no. I'm going to leave it alone."

Finn shook his head. "You're really willing to sit back and let her marry this bloke?"

"I'm not LETTING her do anything. She's her own person."

Finn implored, "But..."

"Finn! She turned me down. I'm out." Logan shook his head sadly. "Please, let it alone."

"Yeah, yeah. I understand." Finn squinted. "But, one question?"

Logan looked up. "Yeah?"

"What if I don't think she's entirely happy?" he asked his friend.

"Noooooooo. I'm not going down this road again. Not going to happen." Logan crossed his arms in front of his chest.

"Okay," Finn acquiesced. "I understand. Umm, what if you guys get the contract?"

"What?" Logan asked.

"Well," Finn suggested, "What if Visualize gets the tech contract for the planetarium? Aren't you going to have to go to the gala next month?"

Logan paused for a beat and finally looked up and said, "Well, if I have to go, I have to go," he said with a smirk.

Finn replied to Logan, "You realize she will probably be there, right?"

Logan nodded slowly, "Yep. Her name is on the building - in huge fucking letters!"

Finn grinned a big grin and text Colin again. "We have liftoff!"

"Huh? Did you buy another plane?" was Colin's reply.

"Yes, but that's not the point, Mate!"
