Chapter Two:

It's Almost Showtime!

Fishy Boopkins sat with his little brother JubJub on the couch in a small hut on the beach, watching anime on TV. Boopkins had selected THE LEGEND OF KORRA!, one of his favorite shows, and was rewatching an episode. His little brother hadn't watched anime with Boopkins, but it was mostly due to the fact the somewhat older weeb was watching mature anime series.

However, not all anime was super mature, and Boopkins pick out some family-friendly anime-related content for JubJub to see with him. Thankfully, the little one wasn't too scared of the occasional violence that popped up in the lighter anime shows, perhaps it was thanks to all of the violent scenarios he'd wound up in over the years.

Just then, the TV picture became fuzzy, and the anime sound effects vanished. Boopkins yelped, and tapped on the remote, but nothing came up, it was all static!

"JubJub?" JubJub asked.

"No, no. It's ok, JubJub." Boopkins said in an assuring manner, "The picture will return."

Just then, something appeared on the TV, an odd TV symbol with the words PUZZLEVISION written under the strange-looking symbol. Boopkins was baffled, but he recognized the symbol, the weeb had seen it when looking at the purchase menu for The Showgrounds while he was working for Tom Nook.

What did that symbol mean? Sure, it stood for something related to TVs, but Boopkins was really confused. The TV went back to static, and the anime loving fish pat his little brother on the head while waiting for the television to return to normal. And then...

"It's almost showtime!" A creepy smiley face appeared on the screen, causing the two brothers to scream...

SMG4 stood at the window, looking out at the Showgrounds as it rained. The meme man looked at his phone, and studied the weather. It would be raining for some time, with lots of lightning and thunder. At this rate, he and Mario may as well be stuck inside all day, and that was the perfect opportunity to hang out.

"Yoohoo!"

He felt the tap on the shoulder, and SMG4 turned to see his best friend, the Mushroom Kingdom's resident idiot, Mario, holding the TV remote while flashing a very eager smile while his mustache widened.

"SMG4! I got a Mario sing along ready!" The dim-witted Italian exclaimed happily, "You wanna have lotsa fun with the singalongs?"

The meme man shrugged. "Got nothin' better to do." He remarked, "So, as you would say, let's-a go!"

"You said it, bro!" Mario pounded SMG4 on the shoulder as he led him to the couch where Luigi was waiting. Mario's younger brother was quite happy today, despite some of the antics that Mario had gotten up to in the last few hours, especially when one of those antics involved the fat Italian playing with his spaghetti... again.

"Oh man, I love-a singalongs." Luigi said happily, "Especially when they involve Weegee."

"Yo! DiD sOmEoNe SaY sInGaLoNG?"

Bob entered the room, having been... doing stuff. Tari followed suit, while her robotic arm sparked a little. Actually, her arm became sentient recently, and the arm's name is Clench, and talking arms would freak people out. SMG3, and Meggy soon walked in, the former had just been streaming, and the latter was taking a break from training.

"Hey! You're-a all here!" Mario pumped his fist, "Wahoo! It's-a time for-a Mario singalongs!"

"Okay, Red!" Meggy bopped Mario on the head playfully, "We'll sing Mario songs."

"I wanna get back to streaming as soon as possible." SMG3 remarked with boredom, he then brightened up, "But the idea of singing Mario songs together sounds badass. So, what are we waiting for? Let's get right to it!"

Everyone gathered on the couch, and Mario passed the remote to SMG4. The meme man pressed the button, and the music started up, followed by the song "Mario Be Playin' T-Dub" by the famous T-Dub started playing. The others had seen it before, so they knew the lyrics by heart. Within the first seconds, Mario and the others were singing along with enthusiasm:

"You wanna with your Mario games?

"I had a big raims is a big taims.

"Cause Mario might be super, but I'm super duper with a big tuper.

"Cause no one's going to hit it like me, 'cause Mario has a big C..."

Some miles away, Bowser was relaxing in the sitting room at his castle while the rain poured down. Bowser Jr. and the other Koopalings were playing, and their dad was watching a rerun of an old 50s TV show episode that was a sci-fi classic. The Koopa King laughed whenever something funny happened, indicating the show was half-comedy as well.

Just then, lightning exploded outside, and the TV switched off. Bowser shot to his feet with wide eyes, then the TV reactivated, and an odd tune started playing as the words "PUZZLEVISION" appeared before the TV shut off again...

Bowser frowned with confusion. Lightning flashed again, and he thought he heard his kids yelping. The towering Koopa stepped away from his TV, and walked through the halls of his castle while more lightning flashed through the windows. He froze upon seeing something move, thinking he'd seen the shadow of someone with a TV for a head.

He heard whimpering, and followed it to the source. Bowser slowly opened a door, and found the kids huddling together by an old TV set in their bedroom. Bowser Jr. looked up at his dad, and Bowser approached, his face full of great concern.

'What is happening today with this storm?' Bowser thought.

Just then, the TV clicked on, showing a weird smiley face, and the odd tune from earlier started playing. Bowser thought he could hear someone singing "TV Time", and his kids whimpered. A dark shadow fell across the room, and then, Bowser felt a chill on his shoulder, and turned around...

A towering robotic humanoid with a TV head showing an eerie smile reached out for Bowser, and the Koopalings shrieked in alarm.

"Get ready! It's just about showtime..." The sinister TV entity said in a haunting tone.
