"Yeah, Baby I Need The Ocean"

Tori and Jade spend Spring Break together. Jade has always been afraid of the ocean, so Tori decides to help her overcome her fear with a little motivation.

Hello all. Happy Easter, and a Happy Spring Break if you're off this week. Much like my one shot "Life After H.A." that can be found in my "Which Ship Is Victorious" story, this one shot will later be a part of a larger Spring Break fic. Hope you all enjoy your holiday, along with this chapter.

Jade slipped on her black beach cover over a blue bikini, while adjusting the sunglasses on her head as she, and the rest of the gang were heading out for a beach day. It's the first full day of their Spring Break in Cancun, and they intended to enjoy every bit of this trip together. Tori is still in the bathroom with Jade waiting for her, and the surprise she has in store. While planning their trip, Tori told Jade she has something to show her as soon as they hit the beach. Since arriving, Jade has been curious about what her girlfriend has been keeping a secret this whole time.

Tori finally emerges in her white, mesh beach cover, smelling of coconut sunscreen, giving Jade a big smile as she hooked her arm. Tori grabbed their beach bag, heading out into the hallway, where they ran into Cat. She was midway through a phone conversation that seemed to have her excited, before she caught sight of her friends, and quickly said goodbye. Cat straightened up to greet Tori and Jade, while the two of them looked curiously at her.

"Who was that on the phone?" Jade asked.

"Oh, nobody important. Just checking on our dinner reservations."

"Okay? Everything all good?" Tori asked.

"Yeah, yeah, everything's good." Cat told them, while tucking her hair behind her ear. "Well, I see you out on the beach."

Cat quickly waved while heading to the elevator. Tori silently waved back to her, before turning back to Jade who looked equally confused.

"What do you think that was about?" Tori asked.

"Who knows with Cat." Jade shrugged. "What I want to know is, what is this big surprise you have?"

"You'll see." Tori said, with a smirk as she took Jade's hand, leading her downstairs.

The sky was a beautiful blue as far as you could see, and the breeze blew off the water enough that the girls could feel the spray of the ocean as they got closer. Tori layed out their towels, and Jade sat down, searching the beach bag, pulling out a bag of grapes. She plucks one off for Tori handing it out to her, but before she can reach it, Jade pulls back.

"First the surprise, then the grape."

"Well, okay then. I suppose you've waited long enough." Tori said, unzipping her beach cover.

She let the article of clothing drop down to her towel as Tori revealed her red, string bikini, with orange flowers on it. Jade looked at her breathless as her eyes made their way down her girlfriend's tan and toned body, stopping to meet the strings on Tori's bottoms that sat high on her hip.

"Is that new?" Jade said, with a swallow.

"It is." Tori smiled, leaning down to eat the grape from Jade's fingers. "I thought it would be good motivation."

"For what?"

Tori stood with her back to the water, holding out her hand.

"Come swimming with me."

"In the ocean?" Jade asked.

"Yeah, we'll go slow, I promise. We don't have to go all the way in, all at once."

Jade stared down at the water lapping against the shoreline, remembering her childhood, and what happened the last time. There were others in the water, seemingly with no problems, but Jade was still apprehensive. Still it's been a long time since her bad experience, and she wanted to at least try for Tori.

"Maybe we can just put our feet in?"

"Sure." Tori said, as they both walked towards the water.

Jade takes off her beach cover, standing to follow Tori to the waves, stopping as she soon feels them splashing at her feet. She buries her toes in the sand watching Tori walk in until the water is at her knees. Jade is still looking around at the other people in the water, couples swinging together, and some people taking surfing lessons as she looks up to see Tori reaching out to her.

"See, not a dolphin in sight." Tori called out. "Come join me."

Jade takes a breath, and heads out to join Tori, taking both her hands when they meet in the middle. The water beaded up on Tori's body as Jade watched her chest rise and fall. It was the main thing she was focused on, while being in the ocean for the first time since she was eight years old. Jade would accompany her family to the beach once in awhile, but she would never go in the water. Her experience with meeting dolphins was traumatic, and really embarrassing, so she had no interest in reliving it. While still holding Tori's hands, the two of them walked in a little further, and the water was now at the girl's hips. Tori leans into Jade kissing her cheek, getting her girlfriend to smile.

"Still doing okay?" Tori asked.

"Yeah, I'm good."

Tori wrapped her arms around Jade's waist, pulling her close. Jade rested her arms on Tori's shoulders, while pressing a kiss to her lips. They both stared lost in each other's eyes until the shock of cold water splashing up their bodies snapped them out of it. The girls laughed while Tori pulled Jade closer, hugging her tight.

"Don't worry, I'll protect you." Tori said, while kissing her cheek.

"This isn't so bad." Jade whispered in her ear.

"I told you."

"Thank you." Jade said, brushing Tori's hair over her ear.

Tori smiled as they kissed once more. Tori dipped in under the water for a moment, while Jade couldn't help but smile looking at the water on her girlfriend's body glistening in the sun. This was certainly a better experience in the ocean for Jade, and hopefully this memory could be the one that sticks with her. Tori's hands slid down Jade's arms, once again taking hold of her hands.

"You want to go in a little more?" Tori asked.

"No, I think I'm good here for now."

"Okay, it's a start. You did great." Tori told her.

Jade squeezed Tori tight, kissing her cheek. "I'm sorry we couldn't do this longer. I have to work on it, I guess."

"No, don't be sorry. This was awesome. I'm proud of you." Tori said, hugging her back.

Jade rested her chin on Tori's shoulder, looking down her back.

"This bikini is a nice touch, though. You should wear it more often."

"Okay, I'll keep that in mind." Tori laughed.

After their swim, the two of them made their way back to their spot on the beach. Jade sat down with Tori sitting, and leaning back against her chest. Jade laid a soft kiss against Tori's temple, and Tori closed her eyes smiling with the warm sun shining on both of them. This trip was one that everybody needed with all the stress of college next year, and so far they were off to a good start.
