Jamie turned over in the bed and let out a pained groan. He'd been home for a few hours now and he just wanted to sleep without feeling any pain. Trying to get comfortable, he heard Eddie's voice.

"Jamie? Can you hear me?"

Jamie managed to open his eyes and squint at her.

"Yes. I can hear you. I need to sleep."

His vision still fuzzy from sleep he saw the deep frown on Eddie's face.

"Just checking. You remember what Doctor Marcson said. I have to check on you every couple of hours. These neuro checks are important bub. You hit your head pretty hard when you fell."

Jamie gave a frustrated sigh and then softened as he tried to raise his hand to cup Eddie's cheek. He gave another groan.

"Son of a bitch that hurts…"

He could see the look of sympathy in Eddie's eyes.

"Of course it does. You were stabbed."

Letting out another groan, Jamie tried to get comfortable.

"Just make the pain go away. I need to sleep."

Eddie gave a satisfied grin.

"Well, at least I know your still alert and coherent. You're not slurring your words. You know where you are. I think it's safe to say you're ok. But I'll have to check on you again in a couple of hours. Now do you want something for the pain or not?"

Jamie opened up his eyes again, this time they went wide.

"Oh hell yes."

Eddie nodded and helped him sit up. Helping him take his pain pill she watched him swallow it. She helped him get comfortable in the bed once again. She hated seeing him like this. Jamie fell into a semi-peaceful sleep. His dreams were filled with holding Cora and spending time with her. In his dreams he went over how much he loved being a father. Cora was everything to him. He loved playing with her. Staring at her tiny hands and feet for hours on end. In his dreams he watched her pass milestones and grew. So did his family. Each time he dreamt, the number of children he and Eddie had would change.

Sometimes it would be 4 other times 5 or 6. But all girls and one boy. Each one of his girls in his dreams he and Eddie gave them good names. Their second daughter Kaitlyn had soft curly dark hair had Eddie's nose, looked like Jamie and was quiet and very focused on her studies as she got older. The third daughter Keena was a screamer with a head of red hair when she came into the world and had no problem making herself heard. She was more her mother than Jamie. Even though she looked just like him. Then there was Maisie. She was a mix of both Jamie and Eddie. She had streaks of stubbornness that mirrored Eddie. But at times she was more like Jamie, quiet and patient. Jamie let out a soft groan as he heard Eddie's far away voice.

"Jamie? Can you hear me?"

Jamie managed to open his eyes and the first thing to pop out of his mouth was a name that wasn't Eddie's.

"Keena… It's too early…"

Jamie opened his eyes wide as he saw a frown plaster itself on his wife's face.

"Keena? Who's that?"

Jamie shook his head slightly.

"I can hear you Ed. Keena is our third born. Stubborn and a screamer and a full head of red hair. Looks just like me but is all you."

Jamie watched as a smile tugged at the sides of Eddie's mouth.

"Well, I'm glad to see you planning out the next few years of our growing family. Cora isn't even a year old yet. I heard you mention a boy's name in there. Patrick."

Jamie gave Eddie a tired smile.

"Patrick. He's our son. He's strong and quiet and grows up to join the family business."

Jamie kept looking at Eddie to gauge what she was thinking.

"Sounds like our future kids turn out alright. I always worry how Cora's going to turn out."

Jamie became concerned. It'd been some time since she'd talked like that.

"Hey, look at me Eddie. She's turning out beautifully. She's nearly six months old now."

Eddie nodded.

"She is. She's getting so big. Every time I turn around, she's already grown out of her clothes. I've decided that it's time to start weaning her off breastfeeding. But I'll need your help in convincing her."

Jamie gave Eddie another tired smile.

"That I can help you with. Help me back onto my feet again and we'll see what we can do."

Eddie leaned in for a kiss and let it turn deep. Even as groggy and tired as Jamie was, he couldn't ignore the love he felt for Eddie coursing through him. He tried to pull her closer to him. Eddie gently pulled away and pushed him back down on the bed.

"Ah. Not until you're better. We can have time for us when you're all healed up."

Jamie gave a reluctant sigh and watched Eddie as she sat down on the bed.

"Well can we at least cuddle?"

Eddie gave a smirk and shook her head.

"We can. After I change your bandage covering your stitches in your left side."

Jamie gave a half a laugh.

"You are such a romance killer Ed."

Eddie gave a sarcastic laugh.

"Glad I could cheer you up bub. Turn over."

Jamie smirked and moved the blankets.

"Whatever you say babe."
