Eddie sat back in her chair at her desk and stretched. She was happy to be back at work, but was bored out of her mind. It had been a maddeningly slow day. It was only noon and she'd only gotten three calls today. She heard her stomach growl and then felt a quick succession of tiny feet against her belly. Placing a left hand against it, she rubbed it gently.

"I know honey. Your hungry too. Should we eat what daddy packed for us?"

She waited for another kick but when it didn't come, she gave a frown.

"I didn't think so."

Before she could continue her conversation with her baby, she looked up to see Renzulli standing next to her.

"Janko and Sanchez. Time for the two of you to take your meal. When you come back, I want you to go through the call list from yesterday. Four other precincts have gotten a bunch of prank calls."

Eddie nodded and secured her computer.

"Yes sir."

With that, Renzulli took his leave back to his office, leaving Eddie and Sanchez to their own thoughts. Sanchez gave Eddie a sympathetic look and held his hands out.

"Need help partner?"

Eddie nodded and took his hands gratefully.

"Thanks Armando. I appreciate it. How did Lindsey get through this last part so seamlessly?"

Armando let go of Eddie's hands as helped her to her feet. She waddled the less than 20 feet into the break room and opened up the fridge, bringing her bag of food out and setting it on top of the table. Looking inside, she began to take the contents of said bag and placing them on the table.

"Hmm… What do you think honey? Should we eat the kale salad daddy left for us?"

Armando winced and pointed to Eddie's lunch.

"Uw Janko. That is brutal. What else did your husband the doctor pack for you?"

Eddie sighed and began pulling out more food from the bag.

"All health food."

Sanchez groaned and shook his head.

"Partner, would you rather eat all this or would you rather get a steak?"

Eddie looked at her watch and smiled.

"We've got time. Let's go."

"Mmm! Now that was a steak!"

Sitting back, Eddie let out a satisfied sigh. Sanchez gave out an airy laugh and shook his head.

"No one can put a steak away like you can Janko."

Giving a smirk, she lightly gave a punch to Sanchez' arm.

"Yeah, and I can bounce right back. I have the metabolism of a D1 football player."

Sanchez gave another laugh and flagged down the waiter.

"Damn Straight partner. You're the only one that can eat more wings at Anton's than I can. Can we get the check please?"

The waiter scurried away as quickly as he came. Then was back again with the check. The two partners were out of the restaurant and back to the precinct in less than 40 minutes. Once back at the precinct, Eddie took her time climbing the steps up to the front doors. By the time she was through the front doors and back at her desk in her semi-comfortable chair, she had to catch her breath.

"That was a workout in itself."

Shifting in her chair to get comfortable she unlocked her computer and started going through all the call logs from the day before. Nothing so far was standing out. It was going to be a long back half of her tour.

"Hey babe. You almost ready to go?"

Eddie looked up when she heard Jamie's voice.

"Just let me log off my computer. Ok and done. Let me just get changed and then run to the ladies' room really quick. Give me about 10 minutes."

10 minutes later, Eddie was dressed in her street clothes and ready to leave. All she wanted to do was get over to Frank and pop's to pick up Cora. The whole drive over, Jamie kept glancing over at Eddie.

"I see you didn't touch your lunch Ed. Was is really that bad?"

Eddie made a face.

"I really didn't feel like a kale and chicken salad. The baby and I wanted a steak. So Sanchez and I went out for one. I'll eat this tomorrow I promise."

Jamie sighed. He wasn't going to argue with his very pregnant wife. Reaching Frank's and pop's house, the couple exited the car and Jamie helped Eddie up the steps towards the front door. He stopped for a moment and looked at her.

"Want to take a minute?"

Eddie nodded and took a breath. When Eddie felt she was ready, she nodded her head again and went to reach for her key in her purse, fumbling with the zipper. Jamie squeezed her arm and put his own key in the door, opening it. He was carrying her bag with her uneaten lunch in it to put in the fridge. He could've just walked the four blocks to their house, but he felt maybe they'd join his father and grandfather for dinner.

"We're here! Where is everyone!"

A happy squeal came from just inside the sunroom and a bright and smiling Cora came toddling over to Jamie and Eddie.

"Mama! Dada!"

Henry had put his newspaper down and came towards the pair with a smile.

"Welcome home kids! How was your day you two?"

Eddie resigned herself to the couch and took her shoes off.

"Long. I got three calls today. Period. None of those calls amounted to anything. The first call was from a little boy who was tired of his older brother teasing him. After speaking with his mother, he understood that calling 9-1-1 and the police was not a joke. The second call was a lady who dialed the wrong number. The third call sounded serious. Someone reported what the thought sounded like domestic violence. But it turns out, the neighbor just heard said neighbors tv. They were watching a movie too loud. Renzulli also had us go through all the calls from yesterday. Apparently, four precincts have gotten prank calls over the last several days."

Cora toddled towards Eddie on the couch and raised her arms towards her.

"Mama! Up!"

A smile came to Eddie's face, and she gave a laugh.

"Did you say up baby girl?"

Cora again held her arms up to her mommy and began to whimper.

"Mama up!"

Henry picked Cora up and placed her onto the couch next to Eddie.

"Here you go princess. Right next to your mommy. Eddie, why don't the three of you stay for dinner?"

Cora saw Jamie come into the room and squealed, making the sign for food. Jamie and Eddie had been teaching Cora a little bit of sign language. Simple signs like food and eat. Jamie smiled and sat next to Eddie, pulling Cora into his lap.

"We'll eat soon baby girl. Did you have fun with poppy today?"

Cora squealed and looked towards Henry.

"Poppy!"

Henry gave a laugh and shook his head.

"She's full of energy this one. She's not afraid to let herself be heard either."

Jamie gave Cora a small tickle on her belly, and she let out another squeal.

"Dada funny! Ha ha!"

Shaking his head, he looked at pop.

"Pop, where is she learning these new words?"

Henry looked at the tv behind him.

"We've been watching some Sesame Street. Jamie, I insist the three of you join us for dinner. The two of you look like you could use a good home cooked meal."

Eddie smiled.

"I could never say no to your cooking pop. It's just a normal day. Did you want any help in the kitchen?"

Henry politely held his hand up.

"You sit and relax dear girl. You've had a long day."

Eddie relented.

"Now that you mention it, my feet are a bit tired."

This eliciting an eyebrow rise from her husband on the other side of Cora.

"Well in that case, this calls for a foot massage."

Cora let out a squeal and then a whine when she felt a foot against her head. She was resting her head against Eddie's belly.

"Mama!"

Eddie ran a hand over Cora's dark hair.

"It's ok sweet girl, that's your little brother or sister in there moving around."

Cora got a bewildered look on her face and squealed again as a hand pressed up against Eddie's belly.

"Baby?"

Eddie gave a light laugh and nodded her head.

"Yes. They can't wait to meet you."

Henry looked at the couple and gave a smile.

"You mean you still haven't found out if you two are having a boy or a girl?"

Jamie shook his head.

"Not yet pop. Next week. I promise we'll get copies of the ultrasound. Give one to you so it can be posted on the fridge here."

Henry's face lit up.

"Wonderful! Jamie if you'd come with me, I'd like some help in the kitchen."
