RWBY 40k fanfiction – Salem, mistress of Inquisition.

Ep 3 : The Sigillite Part 2.

We find Malcador and Salem on a snowy plateau.

She was dressed in a large white dress and had white shoes. Her hair was tied in two braids.

Malcador: "You are going to show me what magic you use. Aim your greatest attack at this rock."

He pointed to a rock at the other end of the valley, a little higher than the rocky plateau.

Salem: "..."

She opened her hand and prepared a nearly three-foot ball of energy. It was shiny and covered in electric arcs.

Salem: "RAH!"

With all her strength and threw it and the ball came towards the mountain, far enough from the rock. But the explosion is large and causes the avalanche of the whole mountain, so large that mist begins to rise from the valley.

Malcador: "I see..."

Salem: "Sorry... I didn't bother to train during that time on Terra..."

Malcador: "It's not a problem. On the other hand..."

He approached Salem and took her hand.

Salem: "What's going on?"

Malcador: "Hm... Those powers intrigue me. They're clearly not Warp powers."

Salem: "Ha? Can I know what it looks like?"

Malcador: "Look closely."

He approached the edge of the plateau.

He planted his stick on the ground and prepared his hands.

Finally, he clapped his hands together with such power that a blast of fire emerged from his hands and shot towards the rock. He impacted it and the rock became so hot that it melted into a puddle of lava.

Malcador: "That is the power of a Psyker."

Having no response from Salem, he turned around and saw Salem on the ground.

Malcador: "Salem!"

He ran over to her and sat her down.

Malcador: "What's going on?"

Salem (breathing heavily): "I... I... I don't know... I don't know... I was looking at you... and when you projected your attack... I felt limp and weak... What is happening to me?"

Malcador: "Hm... I think we should dig deeper to find out, let's go home."

Later... In the living room.

Salem and Malcador took tea.

Salem tried to drink this tea but the taste was really bad.

Salem: "What is this tea? It's sour."

Malcador: "The atomic fallout."

Salem: "I know... But it's boring all the same."

Malcador: "Well...I don't think you told me enough about Remnant and magic."

Salem: "I've been busy reading the library books. But you've seen my memories."

Malcador: "Certainly. But I only consult from my point of view, share yours with me."

Salem: "Hm... Magic was given to us by the God of Darkness shortly after my people were created by the God of Light."

Malcador: "Why what reason?"

Salem: "A treaty of peace. According to legend, the twin gods disagreed over the organization of Remnant. Thus, in the presence of the Remnantians. The God of Light had given us life while the God of Darkness gave us magic."

Malcador: "I see. But what about magic itself?"

Salem (hesitates): "Well...it's magic...it depends on the person. It could be pure energy, light, darkness, elemental magic, alchemy and all the rest... It's really hard to explain to you."

Malcador: "I see... an energy whose possibilities depend on the imagination."

Salem: "How do you explain what's happening to me with your powers."

Malcador: "I have a theory. Listen to me carefully."

Salem: "My ears are wide open."

Malcador: "I looked into the Warp to see who these gods are you tell me about. Asked the Xenos gods but all are unanimous: they have never seen beings like the Twins."

Salem: "What? But what does that mean?"

Malcador: "I think your powers, your immortality and the rest are strictly and definitely material and not immaterial."

Salem: "Huh? Really?"

Malcador: "Yes. The more I think about it, the more it makes sense. The material and the immaterial are two literally opposing forces. When one tries to take advantage of the other, it causes changes."

Salem: "Changes?"

Malcador: "When material interferes with the Warp, the minds of some living beings lose their substance because the material is frozen and ordered while the Warp is unstable, full of life. Otherwise, when the Warp interferes with the material: it confuses minds, removes their mental limits and becomes completely irrational. If your powers are material, that would explain why you pass out if I use too many psychic powers at your side. Your body is disturbed by the presence of the warp and weakens as your mind becomes confused as your self-control is weakened.

Salem: "It's terrifying... and the gods in all this?"

Malcador: "Your deities are material entities. If the Warp were to approach them, they would risk disappearing."

Salem was livid, the Warp was a real danger.

Salem: "That means I can't fight the demons if they were to attack Terra! I'm stuck everywhere!"

Malcador: "Calm down. There is a possible solution to your problem."

Salem: "Hm...? Which one?"

Malcador: "You see, among the Terrans as you call them. There are Psykers but also their opposites: the Pariah."

Salem: "The Pariah?"

Malcador: "The Pariah also called Blanks are humans whose souls are not warp bound in any way, making them invincible against the warp. I think by using your powers in a certain way. Blank and become completely warp immune."

Salem: "It's a good thing..."

Malcador: "However, there is a side effect."

Salem: "Which one?"

Malcador: "The Pariah, as they are not affiliated with the Warp, are simply incapable of feeling anything and their emotions are non-existent."

Salem: "What?"

Malcador: "Yes, their souls are empty and devoid of substance."

Salem: "Wait, that means if I'm creating a Pariah gene. I am going to become like them? Empty and motionless...like...Grimms?"

Salem's eyes widened in concern and shock. Seeing herself with a neutral face, without emotions, without empathy, nothing.

Salem: "Is this really a price to pay for this? Is this really the only solution that exists?"

Malcador: "I don't see any others. But the effect of the Pariah gene might be different for you, or even have no effect at all."

Salem: "Really?"

Malcador: "Yes. From my point of view, the Remnantians are identical in every respect to the humans of Terra. But seeing that the Twin Gods are purely material entities and have surely transmitted this materiality into your being and all Remnantians. I do not think that your soul is present in the Warp. So, the Pariah gene will not change anything in you."

Salem was confused and hesitant. If she was going to create a Pariah gene for herself, she would run the risk of becoming empty. Otherwise, she will never be able to fight against the demons.

This hesitation lasted for a while but the option of the gene ended up becoming a vital obligation in her head.

Finally, she looked resolute.

Salem: "I'm going to do it. I'm going to create this gene for myself. Even if I have to lose my soul for it."

Malcador: "Go to part 3 of the Psyker library. You will find studies made by Sigillites on the Pariah."

Salem: "Good."

She stood up before heading into the library. Part of her didn't want to do it, afraid of losing everything.

But the other side dominated Salem's thoughts.

She came to the row of gray books featuring the Pariah. She took the books in question and began to read.

By studying books. She could describe detail how the genes were made.

After reading their composition, she went to a laboratory belonging to Malcador. She took with her a bottle and neck.

She held out her arm and then cut her veins. Although the wound was rather large, she felt nothing.

The blood flowed into the bottle before filling it until the wounds closed.

Then Salem placed a book presenting the composition of the gene.

Salem then attempted to recall the Maginetics. A magic she had read in the books of her youth.

She picked up a miniaturized electronic microscope from the Age of Technology before holding it in front of one of her eyes while the other looked at her hands. She adjusted the power of the microscope. Eventually, red fumes were coming out of her hands and she began telekinetically kneading the blood. Under the microscope, she could see her genes constantly breaking down and reassembling.

She glanced at the book and tried to adjust everything but each time, the assembly failed. She finally saw that her blood had turned black and viscous.

Salem: "Hm... I must memorize. I only have two hands and two eyes."

She poured the blood into the sink before washing the bottle.

She thus spent the rest of her days learning by heart the composition of genes. Where she hesitated, she relearned.

She also delved into her memories through deep meditation to retrieve the knowledge from the books she was learning.

Finally, she was back in the lab. She had asked Malcador to leave her alone for this difficult task.

Dressed in a biochemist's outfit, she took a small pool of blood and put it in a cup. Adjusted the electron microscope, adjusted its power, showing the genes. Then placed her hands on either side of the cup. The hands took on red fumes and the forced mutation began.

She reassembled the genes, strand by strand, protein by protein.

Slowly and surely, Salem's normal genes morphed into the Pariah gene compatible with her body.

Finally, after a long time. The Pariah's genes were all assembled and solid, giving off an atmosphere of dead calm in the lab.

She picked up the syringe and gently aspirated the blood until there was nothing left.

She looked at the syringe, fascinated and nervous at the same time.

Salem: "This gene I'm about to inject... Hm... Let's hope I still enjoy the filthy tea."

She pulled off the sleeve, put on a tourniquet, pulled it tight, revealing a vein.

Salem: "By the grace of the Twins..."

She pricked and injected it all, giving a strange sensation to her skin. She took out the syringe and put it down. The little hole closed.

She removed the tourniquet then put the things in their place.

As time passed while she tidied up. She felt less and less the part of her arm pricked by the syringe. Then the rest of the arm became more and more limp, to the point that it fell down and didn't move, as if it were a doll's arm.

Salem: "I have to go to bed...I feel like my head is starting to spin."

She started walking outside the lab and down the hallways. Her chest and then her stomach began to go limp and Salem felt increasingly weak and lazy.

It was then that Malcador came out of one of the corridors and grabbed Salem. She could see that his gaze was nervous.

Salem (low voice): "Master...help me. I can't stand..."

Malcador: "Don't worry Salem... I'm here..."

He took her with him. Salem felt his legs go limp in turn and his spine no longer feel anything. She could Malcador began to sweat and breathe heavily.

Salem (very tired voice): "Master...?"

Malcador: "It's the Pariah gene... It's starting to affect my powers... I too feel weak... Come on, the bedroom is just ahead."

He opened the door to Salem's room and then put the woman to bed.

The latter could no longer feel anything and her head was spinning more and more despite the immobility. Her vision was blurring and the rest of her senses were fading.

Salem (extremely low voice): "I... feel...that...I... will..."

Malcador (breathing heavily): "Don't wear yourself out... Accept the abyss of sleep..."

Salem (passes out): "Ooooohh..."

She closed her eyes and her body stopped moving. Malcador draped the blanket over her before leaving the bedroom.

Dream:

Salem woke up in a dark place.

Salem: "Hello? Is anyone there?"

?: "Yes. There is me."

She turns around and sees a figure in the shadows.

Salem: "Who are you? Are you my alter-ego?"

The woman stepped out of the shadows and Salem was surprised.

It was herself but dressed in an impersonal black dress. Her hair was unsaturated and her eyes were gray.

Salem: "Who are you?"

The alter-ego speaks but in an emotionless voice.

Salem Blank: "I am you... But the Pariah part of your consciousness."

Salem: "What do you want from me?"

Salem Blank: "Merge with me. Your body has the Pariah gene in every one of your cells. But your mind remains separated."

Salem: "I'm not sure..."

Salem Blank: "Why?"

Salem: "Because if I merge with you...I will become like you...right?"

Salem Blank: "You're scared. I know it. You fear becoming like me. But I'm scared of destroying you with my mere presence."

Salem: "What?"

Salem Blank: "Look at your hand."

Salem looks at her hand and sees that it is cracking.

Salem: "!"

Salem Blank: "You have to stop doubting because otherwise you will disappear."

Salem: "But how? How can I not doubt? I do not know what will happen to me..."

Her arm began to break as the rest of her body.

Salem Blank: "You are me. I am you. We do not know what will happen. But what is certain... is that no one will die."

Salem: "...You're right..."

Salem Blank: "Merge and let our best qualities of each come out."

She held out her hand. Salem reached out his other arm and grabbed the hand.

Salem: "I trust you."

Salem Blank: "Me too."

The two arms began to stick together and merge, then the flesh moved up towards the two women, drawing them in until they stuck together. A huge blob of flesh covers both personalities before retracting and leaving a single Salem.

Salem: "I am complete. I have nothing more to fear... Thank you."

Salem woke up, looked around the room and saw her hands.

Salem: "I succeeded... I succeeded!"

She smiles seeing that her actions have paid off. She got off the bed and left the room.

She then saw Malcador in the corridor.

Malcador: "There you are. How are you feeling?"

Salem: "Really good! I haven't lost anything and I'm in great shape."

Malcador: "Not so much for me..."

Salem noticed that Malcador was shaking.

Salem: "What's going on?"

Malcador: "My body still has to get used to your Pariah gene. It's not easy for a Psyker for me."

Salem: "Good. Let's continue with the training, master?"

Malcador: "Of course. Let's go to the set."

Malcador was delighted to see such a cheerful Salem, her first innocent smile in front of him announced nothing but good.

Few weeks later...

Malcador: "Go! Hold that rock!"

Salem sat with her hands holding a rock 10 times her size.

Salem: "It's hard... So hard!"

Malcador: "Endure as much as possible! Push your limits! You are the Immortal Witch of Terra!"

Salem: "Raaaaah!"

She pushed the boulder away slightly, as her strength reached its limit.

Finally, she let go and the rock crushed her completely.

Malcador: "Three thirty-eight. Not bad."

He heard a muffled voice.

Malcador: "Now you are going to come out of this rock for the last lesson."

He heard a muffled sigh of exasperation followed by a straining voice as the boulder began to move sideways.

After a few moments of small movements. Salem's finger came out, then the hand after another effort, then the left forearm, the right forearm, then the head.

Salem: "Rgnrrhhh!"

Salem crawled off the rock before dropping to the ground. Catching her breath.

Salem (tired voice): "I did it..."

Malcador: "Well... Now it's time to go."

Salem: "Ah? Where?"

Malcador: "Towards Lutetia, the hive capital of Franc."

Salem: "Ah yes, it's true. But it's far."

Malcador: "You have to get to know the world around you. Come on, get your things ready."

Salem was about to leave but stopped before turning back towards the mountain. She saw no one.

Malcador: "What's going on?"

Salem: "I could have sworn someone was on that mountain."

Malcador: "Impossible. Nobody knows this place."

Salem: "Except... the Lineage Master."

Malcador stopped as if Salem had been right. Salem raised an eyebrow.

Salem: "you told me a lot about him. But when are you introducing him to me?"

Malcador: "Soon... Very soon..."

He walked towards the temple. Salem was confused, Malcador sounded formal.

This man seemed important to Malcador. Who was he?

She looked back at the mountain. She felt nothing, the presence was gone.

Malcador: "Are you coming, Salem?"

Salem: "I'm coming..."

She turned and walked towards the temple.

The duo departs from Hymalazia, beginning their journey west.

Salem was dressed in an outfit like Malcador regarding appearances with strangers, hiding her other clothes.

They descended the mountains and took the path of the steppes, arriving at a sea called the Caspian Sea, entering the territory of the Caucasus Wastes. It was a poor techno-barbarian kingdom with relic weapons from the Technological Age.

They then progressed to Europa, a techno-barbarian nation ruling over the Mediterranean plain where an ocean once stood.

Finally, they arrived at Franc. A nation from a country called France, a country in the Age of Terra.

The reputation of this country was its relative prosperity but also its inhabitants whose distrust of foreigners was very great, which led to conflicts with other nations such as Jermani or Europa.

The duo arrived towards Lutetia, the capital.

Salem was impressed to see this town. The hive city unlike Hongol was built from stone and beautifully decorated.

Salem: "It's beautiful!"

Malcador: "Yes. Beauty is always somewhere."

They arrived in the hive city and went upstairs.

Salem: "Who are we going to meet?"

Malcador: "King Louis MMCLXIV of the Orleans dynasty."

Salem: "The king himself?"

Malcador: "Yes."

They continued to climb to reach the top of the hive city. They lead to a marble palace.

Malcador: "The Palace of the Luves. Residence of the King."

They came to the golden gate. Two guards covered in cybernetic parts.

Guard 1: "Halt!"

Guard 2: "You don't have the right to pass."

Malcador took a paper from his bag and gave it to the guard. The two consult each other.

Guard 1: "Paper signed and with the king's seal..."

Guard 2: "Hm... Forgive us for our doubt sir. You may enter."

The golden door opened and the two entered.

Salem: "Remind me of the mission."

Malcador: "The king suspects his minister of engaging in occult activities. He knows something is going on with him, but his minister has considerable influence in the court. If he cannot get help inside so he begged for our help."

Salem: "Hm... I'm betting on a Tzeentch cult or a Nurgle cult."

They entered the palace. Salem discovered the lords of all walks of life with their extravagant 18th century Terra Age garb but mutant deformations and cybernetic additions.

Malcador: "The throne room is upstairs. Follow me."

As they walked up the steps and approached the throne room. The nobles stared at them, the women whispered among themselves while the men chuckled at their appearance or took offense.

They arrived in the throne room, where the nobles were gathered.

The nobles looked at them with disdain and contempt.

In the background was the king in question. To his surprise, Salem saw that the king looked quite normal with brown hair, a height of 1.70m. But hey, his eyes had a different color for each eye. A small tumor under his neck while his hands were long and clawed. The queen was at his side, she was quite attractive with her red hair and blue eyes. But one of his legs was bigger than the other.

The duo arrived in front of the king and knelt.

Malcador: "My king."

Louis MMCLXIV: "Malcador, the Sigillite. Thank you for accepting this invitation."

Malcador: "Why should I refuse a king's offer?"

Louis MMCLXIV: "Besides, who is this person who accompanies you? According to my father's stories. You were alone."

Malcador: "She's my new student. Salem, the magician of the Pan-Pacific Empire."

The nobles talk among themselves regarding Salem.

Louis MMCLXIV: "Hm... Would you be so kind as to present yourself at court?"

Salem looked at Malcador who nodded.

Salem turned back to the nobles, uneasy as she had never been introduced to such a princely environment.

Salem: "My respects, nobles of Frank. It's good to see you here."

She did the dress salute. The nobles said nothing but their gaze was still contemptuous.

She turned to the king.

Louis XXCLXIV: "I will speak privately with you Malcador."

Malcador: "Good, my king."

Salem: "And me?"

Louis XXCLXIV: "Young lady. I advise you to get to know the rest of the court."

She turned to Malcador who made a sign to play the game.

The king rose from his seat before leaving for a separate room, followed closely by his wife and Malcador.

Malcador: "Salem, I won't be long... Keep calm, okay?"

Salem: "Hmm..."

The door closed.

The nobles started discussing between them concerning the arrival of the two visitors but especially had their eyes on Salem who decided to lend themselves to the game. She was nervous.

Salem (thoughts): "Damn you dad! If you had taught me how to behave around nobles, I would not be in trouble!"

She decided not to interfere in the discussion except when asked.

But after a while, she was surrounded by four servers.

Salem: "Excuse me. Can you let me through?"

Waiter 1: "Wouldn't you like a glass of the southern grape?"

Waiter 2: "The Raisin of Brest is exquisite!"

Server 3: "The northern grape is the best!"

Waiter 4: "The Alsace grape has a strawberry aftertaste."

Salem: "No thank you... no way."

The waiters persisted until finally Salem took the glass of wine from the Alsace grape.

Salem moved away from them and sniffed the wine. The smell was foul.

Salem secretly poured the wine over a plant before placing it on a tray.

Salem was then approached by a man who wears priest's clothes while his face is half cybernetic.

Salem: "Yes?"

Priest: "Hm... I wonder for you."

Salem: "Yes, who are you?"

Priest: "Your master says you are a magician. But I doubt it."

Salem: "Are you listening to me?"

Priest: "Recite to me the verses of the Headless Angel."

Salem is confused.

Salem: "What are you talking about?"

Priest: "I saw you through, Witch!"

Salem: "What? No! Nononono! It's illegal. This is my first time in your country and you expect me to recite something I don't know?"

Priest: "Silence! Miserable Witch! Your master is a miserable sinner."

Salem: "Oh no, not that..."

Priest: "I'm sure you have the face of a demon! Show me!"

Salem: "Hey ho! Dalm down!"

Priest: "I said show me!"

Salem: "St..."

But too late, he removed Salem's hood and discovered the woman's head.

(Note: Take Salem's hairstyle from Remnant).

All nobles are flabbergasted by such beauty.

Priest: "I can't believe it..."

He was punched in the face and thrown three meters away.

Priest: "Hey! Why did you lay hands on a priest?!"

Salem: "You wretched Priest... You dare lay hands on me? Malcador the Sigillite's apprentice?!"

Noble 1: "Have you ever seen such beauty before?"

Noble 2: "If the women of the Pan-Pacific Empire are all like that. I would like one..."

Salem heard the whispers behind her.

Salem: "Silence! I don't want to see your lustful looks at me and your boring comments anymore! You put your rank, your wife, your family to shame! You are no better than the savage tribes!"

The audience is shocked and then a flood of insults rain down on Salem.

Noble 3: "Who are you to insult us, miserable woman?!"

Noble 4: "That whore who dares to insult Vero, the great lord of the high peaks?! This is outrageous!"

Noble Woman: "The miserable bitch who does not respect etiquette!"

A voice thundered in the crowd.

Man: "SILENCE!"

Everyone turns around and Salem sees a man in long black clothes.

Man: "This attitude is unworthy of your stature! I will warn the king for this unacceptable behavior towards a guest who has come from far away!"

Priest: "But she hit me, Minister!"

Salem raised his eyebrows at the appellation.

Minister: "Silence! You are embarrassing the clergy by looking for trouble with a foreigner! Know that stirring up dishonor is punishable by death! Evacuate him!"

Guards take the priest and lead him away.

Priest: "No, please! Not the gallows!"

Minister: "Sorry for the inconvenience, dear magician. Your beauty is exhilarating like the sun."

He kissed her hand.

Salem: "Uh... Thanks..."

Salem puts her hood back on.

It is then that Malcador goes out with the king.

Malcador: "Salem. Let's go to our rooms."

Salem: "Hmm...Okay."

The two leave the room.

They entered Malcador's room.

Salem: "So? When is it for the minister?"

Malcador: "He's a very secretive and busy man. But the king has revealed valuable information to us. Every full moon night, he descends from the city to the depths.

Salem: "The lower town..."

Malcador: "We will have to be very careful. These disreputable neighborhoods are veritable mutant farms as the contamination of the factories is intense."

Salem: "Let's stay on the lookout while we wait."

A few days later...

The full moon was barely up in the sky.

Salem and Malcador follow the minister from afar.

They descended the city for a long time at the same time as the social ladders.

Then sank below the surface, where fewer and fewer people populated the subterranean dwellings.

All these people were deformed and mutated to the extreme, suffering from everything.

Finally, they arrived in the shallows of the hive city.

A place where the insalubrity was everywhere, the pollution, radiation and the rest reached extreme levels, yet the minister was sinking into these dangerous places.

Suddenly, a mutated monster came out of the water and attacked him.

Monster: "GRAAAAAH!"

Minister: "Silence."

He hit the creature on the head before slicing it. He let her go and left.

The duo followed him and passed by the creature which was dying but which was still alive.

Salem: "That's awful..."

Malcador: "I know."

Finally, they came to an ominous light. A red and purple glow, an evil glow.

Salem: "Looks like the Warp, that glow..."

Malcador: "Hm... I think your suspicions were correct."

They approached discreetly and arrived at a place in ruins.

They then saw a good hundred cultists, making incantations and slowly shaking scepters with 8 arrows.

Salem: "Which god is it?"

Malcador: "Look..."

It shows skulls, bones, and whole basins of blood.

Salem: "Khorne..."

Malcador: "Let's wait some more."

Minister: "So... Have you finished your incantations?"

Cultist: "You are come just in time for the final touch."

He pointed to an ox the size of a cabin being escorted to the totems.

Cultist: "His blood will draw the rage of a Bloodthirster!"

Salem: "It's time to intervene, isn't it?"

Malcador: "Let's destroy this cult while there is still time."

They prepare their attacks. Salem launched a ball of energy while Malcador a large wave of flames.

But to their surprise, the attacks hit against an invisible shield. Worse, they got spotted.

Malcador: "I don't believe it... A psychic shield, they had everything planned!"

Cultist 1: "Stop them!"

Malcador: "Destroy the ritual, I'm holding back the cultists!"

Salem: "Me?"

Malcador: "You have the genes of a Pariah; the Warp won't do anything to you!"

Salem: "That's right, I forgot! I'm going!"

They jumped off the roof and Malcador drew the attacking cultists against him. Salem meanwhile defeats the cultists who come towards her.

She prepared a ball of energy against the ritual but a more muscular cultist than others arrived at her height, accompanied by another.

Cultist: "Charge!"

Muscular Cultist: "Graaaah!"

He sent a terrible blow against Salem who narrowly avoided.

Salem: "This guy has superhuman strength!"

Malcador: "Concentrate on the ritual! I'll take care of him!"

He said, hitting a cultist with his now metallic arm.

Salem dodged the cultist's blow and charged at the totems with the ox now in the center.

Cultist 2: "Stop her!"

Cultist 3: "Grab her!"

Salem arrived at the height of the ritual and prepared a ball of energy before sending it on the ritual.

A large explosion occurs and a large black smoke comes out.

Salem turned back to the cultists.

Salem: "Now I'll take care of you!"

But the cultists laughed insanely.

Salem: "What?"

Cultist 4: "Thank you for completing the ritual! The demon will come!"

Salem: "Impossible! I destroyed it!"

Malcador: "Salem! We got tricked by those wretches! Since you killed the ox! The ritual was done!"

Salem (fighting off cultists): "What?! I killed the ox yes, but it all got caught in the blast!"

Malcador: "Sometimes an infinitely small moment is enough for it to work!"

Suddenly, the cultists froze staring at the smoke.

Salem turned around and was stunned. In front of her stood a 6-meter-tall demon, with dragon wings and gigantic weapons that make human size. It was exiting a warp portal.

Bloodthirster: "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL TRONE!"

Salem: "Oh shit..."

The demon spat out a gigantic stream of flames from its mouth, burning everyone apart from Salem who was covered in dust.

Bloodthirster: "YOU! GIVE ME YOUR BLOOD!"

He threw himself against Salem who didn't have time to react, he hit Salem with his sword and sent her flying towards the ceiling.

Malcador: "Salem!"

Salem opened her eyes but saw that the demon was now flying towards her. She saw a hole in the ceiling and decided to go there.

She ran through the half-collapsed steel corridors that led to the surface.

She heard a sound of destruction and turned around.

She then saw the demon pursue her, lifting and destroying the corridor in its wake.

Salem: "That's not true... Does he want my immortality or what?"

She ran in the corridors which were beginning to crumble more and more.

Salem: "This monster is going to destroy the city from underground!"

Bloodthirster: "YOUR SKULL IS MINE!"

Salem: "The surface... Where's the surface... Where's the fucking surface?"

Salem saw the light at the end of a collapsing tunnel. She ran over the mud that flowed inward and eventually came out in a gigantic landfill. She ran through the stored debris as the tunnel collapsed behind her. But suddenly, the demon lands in front of her.

Bloodthirster: "Your blood... IS MINE!"

The demon licks its lips with its long tongue, salivating its victim's blood in advance.

Salem: "Alright... Do you want my blood?"

She undid her suit, revealing her Remnant outfit.

Salem: "Come get it, filth!"

Bloodthirster: "RUAAAAAAHHH!"

The demon spat flames at Salem who narrowly avoided. She retaliated with energy balls against the demon. The latter protected himself with his swords. He charged at Salem and slammed his swords into the ground, cracking the stone but Salem was able to manage to dodge.

Salem tried to cast an energy beam but the demon already threw its swords, Salem sidestepped.

Salem: "He leaves me no respite!"

Salem in the face of the demon's brutality is forced to avoid, all her attempts to use her magic fails.

After a long chase.

Salem suddenly had a headache as she hid.

Malcador (telepathically): "Salem! Salem!"

Salem: "Master, I can't beat him!"

Malcador (telepathically): "I'm looking for the exit under the rubble. You'll have to fight without me."

Salem: "But how do I do it?"

Malcador: "Charge frontally! Attack directly! It's a duel of strength! I remind you that it's a demon of Khorne!"

Salem: "Really? But this monster has terrible strength!"

Malcador (telepathically): "At least make sure you hold it back until I come to finish it!"

Salem: "I'll try!"

The presence in his head gone.

Salem: "I have to use all my strength..."

She saw the demon from behind looking for her while flying in the air.

She got into position then with all her telekinesis, jumped towards the demon at breakneck speed.

The demon turned around and saw Salem but didn't have time to react.

Salem: "ROOOAAAAHHH!"

She kicked the demon in the face with her foot which caused his swords to drop in surprise, then Salem chained him in the stomach with her punches before kicking him in the stomach, which sent him flying to the ground.

Salem hit the demon with an energy ball to stun it and the demon crashed to the ground. She stayed in the air thanks to her telekinetic magic.

Salem: "RAAAAAHHHH!"

She continuously threw balls of magic and beams of energy at the demon. Ravaging the area where the explosion demon was.

(Note: Imagine the scene of Gohan versus Frieza 2nd form but Salem and the demon instead).

Finally, she prepared a gigantic ball of energy in her two hands then launched it with all her strength against the demon.

A gigantic explosion takes place below.

Salem watched the whole thing, mentally exhausted.

But suddenly, a shadow rises behind and hit her with its claws.

Which knocked her to the ground.

Salem looked up into the sky and saw the demon, badly hurt but with more intense rage than ever trying to crush him with his fist.

Salem dodged the fist.

Salem: "A little more and I'll be done..."

The demon sent his fist against Salem who caught him with his hands which exploded but regenerated. Salem stopped the demon's fist and held it, his feet slipping on the floor.

Salem (pushes): "Gnnnrrr...Come on...Damn...demon!"

She pushed with all her might, using her deepest resources and Salem began to push the fist away. The demon took his fist away and tried to hit him with the other but Salem jumped on him and plunged her arm into the demon's flesh.

Bloodthirster: "RAAAAAHHHHH!"

Salem: "DIE!"

It exploded a ball of energy inside the demon, exploding the latter's chest but also Salem's arm.

She was thrown away, covered in the demon's blood.

Salem slowly stood up and forced his arm to regenerate.

She glanced at the demon and saw him on the ground, his chest holed and dead.

Salem: "I defeated him... I DEFEATED A DEMON!"

She screamed, externalizing her adrenaline.

She then saw Malcador, in the sky.

The latter descended slowly and approached Salem.

Malcador: "You did well."

Salem: "Thank you..."

But suddenly... The minister arrived, badly hurt.

Minister: "Wretches! You have ruined everything!"

They turned to a hurt but angry minister.

Salem: "He survived him? But how?!"

Malcador: "It's really lucky..."

Minister: "I was going to restore power to this kingdom! Even if I had to ally myself with the worst!"

Malcador: "Nice tirade. You can rehearse in front of the king."

Minister: "What are you talking about? There's no one else!"

Louis MMCLXIV: "It is indeed a pretty tirade."

Everyone turns to the king who just showed up with his guards.

Minister: "My... Majesty..."

Salem: "But how did you find us?"

Louis MMCLXIV: "The crash of the city was felt to me. Then I took my flying vehicle of the old time with my guards and I arrived. Nothing simpler."

The king turned to the minister.

Louis MMCLXIV: "I believe that serious explanations are to be made my dear minister... on your prohibited activities."

He snapped his fingers and the guards grabbed the minister before leading him away.

Louis MMCLXIV: "Thank you for your help. I would be indebted to you."

Malcador: "You are welcome, majesty."

Louis MMCLXIV: "See you again."

He left, leaving the duo alone.

Salem: "This case is over."

Malcador: "Okay, it's time to go home."
