Mike's P.O.V.

You know, I realized something after walking around Sabaody for a while. Sure, on one side it really, really is a terrible place that is disgusting in so many ways it is not even funny… but it is also a freaking expensive location with stuff from all sorts of places.

As me and Uta walk through the streets I see the many vendors and such around and I feel itchy about wanting to buy some of this stuff. Especially the many weird herbs and rocks from who knows where, I just have a strong feeling that those can be useful if I intend to get started with Alchemy properly.

I have yet to start on it since I lack a fire source I can use, at most I made some basic medicines and such but it is far from what I wish to accomplish. However-

"Can't you make this a bit cheaper?" I ask the shopkeeper who just waves me off.

"No can do, kid. These are rare medicinal herbs, many doctors come buy from me since I sell quality stuff so if you don't get the money then scram." The apothecary said and Uta, on the side, looked far too bored.

Getting out of the shop she spoke up.

"So, can we finally go to the Amusement Park? I want to do something funny."

I just rolled my eyes at her. I would retort to her when I saw in the distance a nobleman passing by with several shackled slaves walking behind him.

An idea appeared on my mind as I saw that and a smirk could not help but appear as well.

"You want to do something interesting, right?"

"Of course. I need to experience interesting things for me to get inspiration for new songs." She says seriously and I nod at her.

Even if she seems frivolous at times, she really is dedicated to her wishes in her own way, huh.

I guess this is one of the reasons why we get along so well, we both are kind of idiots who are fanatical about what we like. For her, it is music, and for me, well, I just want to fight the strong while making sure that those who do bad shit get what is due to them.

Not too different from the Strawhat Pirates, true, but pirates are just pirates after all and their success emboldens others to go to sea who may not have the same moral compass. Better be a marine, if for no other reason than because it ensures that anyone I inspire would not go become a murder hobo or something.

Anyway, feeling that this was a nice option I showed Uta a slightly devious smile as I said.

"Then, how about we do this-"

I then explained my plan and, when I finished it, Uta showed a smile just as devious as my own.

"We will need to put on some disguises." She says and I nod my head.

"Sure thing. I even have some ideas that could be fun." I said and we both smiled deviously to each other.

3° Person's P.O.V.

Yasopp, one of the chief officers of the Red Hair Pirates and a pirate with a bounty of 600 million bellies, was standing on the top of one of the mangroves of Sabaody. He was looking at the kids down there with a slightly bored expression, he did not take Shanks's offer to become a pirate just to babyseat anyway.

But yet, here he was. Stuck watching the two kids clearly about to do something particularly stupid.

"Those two really are a bad influence on one another." Yasopp said with a hint of amusement as he saw the two kids down there putting on long cloaks covering their bodies together with masks hiding their faces.

The two soon entered a shop that, at first glance, looked like just a normal everyday clothes shop, but Yasopp knew better. His observation haki was specialized in seeing long distances and through obstacles, being quite decent at sensing a person's emotions as well which made him one of the deadliest snipers in the entire world. As such, it was very easy for him to see that this was an slave trade shop.

So, the man just watched as the two kids entered the shop and went downstairs where the 'merchandise' was located. Yasopp felt it clear as day how the two kids reacted to what was in front of them.

Uta, the sweet girl she was, felt to Yasopp like a burning inferno of rage at what she was seeing. He has never seen her as angry as she was right now, but what shocked Yasop even more was the cold fury he could sense from little Mike.

Unlike Luffy, who made Yasopp feel as if he was the sun shining bright everywhere, exuberant and full of life, his brother Mike felt more like the ocean. Calm at times, raging at times, but always had a certain attraction to it that made one want to get close. This here, though, this cold fury Yasopp was feeling from him, that was very different.

It was more akin to a gigantic storm just waiting to explode. And Yasopp was not left wanting as, five minutes after getting into the shop the whole place being wrecked as slavers or all sorts were launched by strong fists through the shop floors until they were launched out of the shop through the roof and into the streets.

"Well damn, the kid really is a monster in the making." Yasopp said with a nervous smile as he saw the force the kid could already use despite his age. Sure, it was nothing much when compared with pirates in New World, but it was still enough strength to compare with some mid level pirates here in Paradise.

And that before he even started the top period of growth, truly a monster.

Still, he watched as the boy went to Uta's side after he finished dealing with everyone and the girl seems to have started hyperventilating as the slaves in cells were reacting quite negatively to what was happening. This must have been a bit too much for her, huh.

Yasopp was about to jump when he saw Mike say something to Uta who seemed to grow some resolve and started to sing.

Soon, all the people around them in the cells had fully calmed down and were all standing quietly around as Uta sang. Mike had covered his ears before Uta motioned that he could take off his hands as her song had ended.

Uta's devil fruit, the Uta-Uta no Mi, was truly a cheat-like ability. It transported others' consciousness into a virtual space which Uta could control freely as long as they heard her singing. Not only that, she could command the person's body on the outside world at the same time.

It was a good thing Uta was a very gentle soul since such a power on the wrong hands could be quite devastating.

Soon, all slaves were released from their cells and all the money accumulated in that shop was taken out. Some was distributed to all the slaves and left in their hand, but that accounted for just around 60%.

The other forty were still in the hands of Mike and Uta as they guided the slaves through several back alleys and such aiming to get to the Marine base here. Of course, they were noticed by several people but Yasopp was a nice enough guy.

He would not let the kids' victory get ruined like that so he silently took care of those who would try to interfere with the kids' actions.

"I guess the captain was onto something when he said about this kid not being able to stay in the navy forever. He is too nice a person for that job." Yasopp mentioned a smile as he saw how Mike and Uta led the group towards the Marines base.

Well, anyway he and the crew could at least protect them for now to make sure nothing too bad happens. That should be good enough for the moment.

Mike's P.O.V.

Uta is scary.

Sure, I always intellectually knew she had one of the scariest powers out there, but this is still something else. Seeing how she so easily controlled two dozen people of all ages just like that with no strain on her side, it goes to show how scarry she can truly be.

Still, we soon were in the Marine Base here in Sabaody and I felt that this could go very well, or very wrong. I am pretty confident that the marines here were as corrupt as they come and bringing the slaves over meant it is entirely possible they will be taken back to the chains, but there is an easy solution for this situation.

Call gramps.

The old man will not mind helping out with this sort of thing, if anything he will likely find the whole situation funny and set things up to where it is all fixed… but he may just come over to bring me back. That would kinda suck since I still need to go with Uta until Elegia to make sure she doesn't end up being used by that demon Tot Musica.

Sigh, I guess I just need to deal with things in the most appropriate way when it comes to that old man.

Approaching the gate of the Marine base, two guards stand guard and one of them approaches.

"What is going on here?"

Well, guess it makes sense. We kinda are being followed by a bunch of people here who clearly look weird and are dressed in rags and such. It would be weirder if these marines did not find us weird.

Taking off my hood I remove my mask and speak up.

"My name is Monkey D. Mike, I am the oldest grandson of the marine hero Monkey D. Garp and I need to talk with the one responsible for this base."

The two guards look at one another and one of them can't help but show an expression of near mockery as he speaks up.

"Oh yeah, you are Garp's grandson and I am the son of Admiral Akainu. Try telling a joke like that to someone else, kid. Now, tell us what is going on ot we will lock you uuuu-"

That was as far as the guy went as I caught his gun and crushed it with my hand.

What? This is a place where one can go from scrub to being strong enough to punch through mountains through training and determination within just three or so years. I train as hard as I can every day since I was three, twisting metal around like this is really nothing that great.

The guard looks shocked before he gulps and speaks up.

"I will inform the vice-admiral here. He will decide what to do." The guard says and I nod my head.

It takes about twenty minutes or so before the vice admiral comes along. The man had a muscular build with a brown suit and his face looked just like a dog.

He should be Vice-Admiral Dalmatian, if for no other reason than because of clearly having that zoan devil fruit.

"So, you are the brat who claims to be the grandson of senior Garp?"

I just shrug and say.

"If you doubt me, contact the old man and let me talk to him. That should get things fixed up nicely."

It seems the man is still doubtful, but he still looks at me and those behind me and asks.

"What of them?"

"Rescued slaves unjustly captured. I busted a slavers shop downtown and brought them here since I trust the navy is able to handle them and take them back to their homes."

Dalmatian shows a complicated expression before he sighs and nods his head.

"Very well, I will do just that. But you can only leave after you conprove your identity since pretending to be related to mister Garp is not the sort of thing I can or will ignore."

He then takes out a dendenmushi from his pocket and activates it.

BURU, BURU, BURU, BURU. BURU, BURU, BURU, BURU. BURU, BURU, KACHA.

"Sengoku speaking."

"Fleet Admiral Sengoku, we have a situation." Dalmatian says to which the phone turns somehow even a tad more serious.

"Did something happen in Sabaody? We already are having enough of a headache with needing to get a handle on the Sun Pirates, we don't need more problems." Sengoku said and I had to hide a snicker at this.

The Sun Pirates are honestly not doing a bad thing, if they can leave and be free for longer then all the better in my eyes.

"Well, a child is here who brought in a group of civilians who were on a slave trade shop. He says he has dealt with all the slaves and is requesting us to bring them over to send them to their homes." Dalmatian explains and the Dendenmushi raised a single brow.

"How old is this child?"

"I am nine, uncle." I spoke up, making Dalmatian send me a glare from the familiarity I spoke as Sengoku just furrowed his brows.

A dendenmushi's ability to show the facial expressions of those on the other side really is something else.

"... What is your name, kid?"

"I am Monkey D. Mike, and I will become the next Marine Hero after grandpa." I said with confidence.

Sengoku did not say anything before he asked.

"How did you arrive in Sabaody? Should you not be in West Blue?"

Oh, so he is testing me. Okay, nothing to hide there.

"Uncle, you can be old but you are still the marine fleet admiral, your memory can't be that bad. I am from East Blue, and I got here after I infiltrated a pirate's ship to go see the world a bit before joining the Navy." I said directly and Dalmatian's eyes hardened at my words.

As for Sengoku, he looked with a slightly strange expression before he questioned.

"And why did you save those people?"

"In part because I wanted some extra money and I would rather confiscate the money from these types than asking money from the pirates I am traveling with, but mostly because it is the right thing to do. It is not wrong to save others, after all." I said very easily.

I could feel Uta's gaze on my back, boring holes in it by their sheer intensity, while Sengoku's expression softened and he laughed on the phone.

"Good, you are just like the sort of person I heard your dumb grandpa say you are. I will talk to him, there is a junior program for new recruits from age 13. It is a bit younger than the norm, but I feel like you will fit in nicely. Now, I will be sending someone to check on you by tomorrow so sit tight over there, okay?" Sengoku says and I smile at the phone.

"Nope, I am going to Elegia. The music festival there sounds fun."

"Now, now, kids should not travel with dangerous people and-"

"I am not yet in the Navy, so I don't have to obey. I am going to Elegia."

Sengoku's face looked slightly constipated as he answered.

"... I will let your grandpa pick you up there then."

"Thanks uncle, you are much cooler than grandpa said. Not a boring and stinky old man who sucks all the fun out of life like grandpa tells me. You are awesome." I said, throwing my grandfather under the bus and by the slightly enraged expression on Sengoku I can well imagine him scolding grandpa soon enough.

With this I have dealt with these slaves, I have some money of my own, and the most important part is that gramps should arrive in Elegia in case shit hits the fan.

Turning to Uta, I take her hand and start to run as the former slaves are taken inside.

"Come on, now we have some money to go buy gifts to the others back in the village as well as play in the amusement park." I told Uta who smiled brightly even behind her partial mask.

In the distance I noticed Dalmatian's confused expression about what was going on. Well, it is not like this matters anyway. As long as nothing more happens I am fine with that.

We just need to enjoy the rest of the day and everything will be alright.
