Hogan's Heroes' Heroes
Summary: Colonel Hogan gets sent to Stalag 13 but how does his operation become so big so quickly?
AN: Okay...my wonderful family decided Mom needed more plot bunnies and brainstormed! LOL! I kid you not! :) So now I have to sort through them. ;) So here's my take on a Hogan's Heroes and SG-1 crossover. This one is for my hubby!
Inspiration: Hubby thinking about all the series we have watched and what would be good crossovers.

Major Samantha Carter sat in front of a computer watching the screen intently. The last four days had been so busy with coronal mass ejections, also known as solar flares, that the 'gate had been shut down so not to risk sending anyone back in time or another destination. For the past twelve hours there hadn't been even the tiniest of blips from the sun's surface.
"Are the solar flares finished, Major?" General Hammond asked.
"They are, sir." Sam smiled.
"Good, so 'gate travel can resume?" Hammond asked.
"Yes, sir." Sam's smile widened. It was good to have a few days off but her and her team was ready to get back out there, as well as the other teams.
"I'll let the teams know." the General stated as he left for his office.
All SG team leaders were informed that 'gate travel was active again, much to their relief.
SG-1 was the third team to leave; however, there was one more flare to happen. Just before the 'gate swooshed, the embarkation room flickered for a moment. The team looked at each other and then up to the control room.
"Walter?" Jack called out.
"I don't know what happened, sir, but everything is reading clear." Walter answered.
"Well, campers, what do you think? Carter?" Jack asked.
"Well, sir, if anything was off, the computers would've caught it." Carter told him.
"I don't know, Jack, maybe we should wait or redial." Daniel looked a bit worried.
"Teal'c?" Jack turned to the Jaffa.
"I cannot say, O'Neill." Teal'c replied.
"We found a way back last time and it worked out." Jack offered as he looked at each member of his team.
"Yes, but Jack, it may not this time." Daniel countered.
"Colonel?" Walter asked over the intercom.
Jack gave the situation serious thought before giving a wave to the control room as he stepped through. Of course, the rest of the team followed, refusing to leave their commanding officer on his own, hoping their luck would hold.
HH & SG-1
Colonel Robert Hogan was not a happy soldier, not at all. He had managed to take out several German planes before the idiots finally shot him down. His crew had bailed over France so they were safe but he had to circle around multiple times, he lost count, before any of the Luftwaffe targeted him. Although the higher ups wanted him to get captured, Hogan wanted a bit of time to scope the area out. Fortunately, where he landed was in a wooded area and he was able to elude capture for a few days. While investigating the area around the P.O.W. camp he would most likely be held, he napped during the day and moved around once the sun went down.
He couldn't believe the orders he had been given. "You will assist escaping prisoners, cooperate with all friendly forces, and use every means to harass and injure the enemy." If it hadn't been for that, he would've most likely escaped but, nooooo, he has to make sure he was captured. However, that didn't mean he would make it easy for the Germans, instead, he kept them looking for three days while he made a loop around the compound. On the morning of the fourth day of his bailing, Colonel Hogan allowed himself to be caught.
"Colonel Robert Hogan, United States Air Force, Serial number 0876707." Hogan stated as he stood before the commanding officer of Stalag 13. He had to contain his smile as he thought about sabotaging the German military from within one of its own camps.
"Ah, yes, the American pilot who was shot down, how nice of you to join us." the balding man with a monocle gloated. "I am Colonel Klink, commandant of this camp and this is Stalag 13. No one has ever escaped." Klink stated proudly.
Colonel Hogan had been told that this was a new Stalag 13. He never understood why the German's used the same number for different stalags; wouldn't that make them hard to tell apart? Oh, well, it wasn't his problem. The next thing would be to see if Colonel Klink was as obtuse as the higher ups said he was.
"You don't say?" Hogan asked.
"I do say. I run a tight ship around here, Colonel Hogan, and will tolerate no monkey business." Kink responded.
"I see." Hogan replied as he casually stepped towards a decanter, poured two glasses before he handed one to Klink. "Shall we toast to a new beginning?" the glasses clinked then both men drank.
"Wait a moment! A new beginning to what?" Klink demanded as he took Hogan's glass from him, frowning.
"To your perfect record being broken." Hogan shared with a smile.
Klink's frown changed to indignation before he said, "Dismissed!"

As SG-1 stepped out of the Stargate, it took a moment for their eyes to adjust to the darkness.
"Oh look, trees." Jack commented as they looked around.
"Jack" Daniel sighed, exasperation creeping into his voice.
"What?" Jack tried to look innocent as his team shook their heads, not able to disagree. There always seemed to be trees near the Stargate.
As Sam, Daniel, Jack and Teal'c took in their surroundings, they had no clue where to start until the sirens started and spotlights snapped to their area. Deciding this wasn't the time to introduce themselves to the local population, possibly giving the wrong impression, the team split up and hid in the nearby brush.
They watched as uniformed soldiers walked the area they had just been. Fortunately, there were no dogs with this patrol but the soldiers' uniforms looked vaguely familiar. After a breath stealing few minutes, the guards returned to their posts.
"Jack" Daniel whispered.
"I know." came the equally quiet reply.
"Those uniforms, sir..." Carter started in a low voice.
"I know." Jack answered.
"O'Neill, are they actors?" Teal'c inquired.
"Nope. Those were the real deal, Teal'c." Jack shared.
"Sir, that means..." Sam couldn't finish her thought.
"I know!" Jack quietly exclaimed.
"So, um, that means..." Daniel hesitated.
"That we were sent back in time...again...to 1942." Jack answered.
"O'Neill, how will we return this time?" Teal'c wanted to know.
"Yeah, Jack, how are we going to do that?" Daniel pressed.
"Carter?" Jack looked to his second in command.
"I don't know, sir. We were lucky last time but I'm not sure we'll find the needed technology now." Carter answered.
They had been quietly approaching where the guards had walked away to. When they were close enough to see inside the fence, SG-1 crouched down and watched as men got into a formation in front of the barracks they came out of. Then a name was loudly called that made them pause.
"Sir?" Carter's voice full of surprise.
"Did they just say..." Daniel couldn't bring himself to say the name.
"Colonel Hogan." Jack stated.
"Oh my god, Jack!" Daniel whispered fiercely.
"Sir, does that mean we're at..." Carter found she couldn't bring herself to vocalize her full thought.
"Stalag 13" Jack answered.
"Is it not of historical significance, O'Neill?" Teal'c asked.
"Yep." Jack quietly popped the 'p'.
"What are we going to do, Jack? We can't just walk in there!" Daniel voiced his concern.
Jack was silent for a moment, "Well, it depends on how long Colonel Hogan has been here." he answered as his eyes scanned the area, looking for a particular tree stump.
"What are you looking for O'Neill?" Teal'c asked.
"A stump, a very special stump." Jack told him as he moved them back into the woods. It was the stump all military personnel and historians knew. It was one of the first things taught in boot camp, Colonel Hogan and the way he sabotaged from within.
"Do you think it's been created yet?" Daniel's curiosity came though.
"No clue." Jack responded.
The team searched the woods for an hour before they stumbled upon the sacred stump.
As Jack tentatively reached to open the escape hatch hidden in plain sight, Daniel gripped his arm.
"Wait, Jack! We can't go down there with our weapons; they haven't been created yet." Daniel pointed out.
"He's right, sir." Carter backed Daniel up.
"Hadn't thought of that." Jack admitted as he looked around. Off to his left was a depression in the ground, walking over; he noticed the soil was looser than the rest of the area.
"Daniel, you still have that cami bag?" Jack looked at the archeologist.
"Yeah." Daniel searched his pockets until he found it. "Here." he handed it to Jack.
"Alright campers, put our guns in here and we'll bury it. We can retrieve it before we leave." Jack instructed as the team followed suit. Teal'c disassembled his staff weapon into four pieces and placed them in the bag as well.
As SG-1 approached the stump, they froze when it started to open; ducking down to make sure it was a friendly. As they watched, two men in black attire stepped out of the stump. One was really short while the other was tall and lean. They watched them scope the area out and come back thirty minutes later. When the two men approached the stump, Jack made his presence known.

Colonel Hogan wasted no time in recruiting for his team. It had taken him a month or so to learn who could be trustworthy and who wouldn't be. Although most of his team was in Barracks Seven with him, there were others spread out so they could help when needed. He had Kinch for the radio and electrical, Carter for explosives, Newkirk was his conman and tailor and LeBeau cooked as well as being the smallest so he could get into places most couldn't. With his main team set up, they got to work digging out tunnels. It was slow going at first, having to watch their every step until it could be decided how much they could get away with.
After creating three tunnels, where one ended with a ladder going topside through a tree stump, another went under Barracks three and six while the last one was a place to make new identities and clothing and all three branched off a central room where the radio had been set up. Newkirk had come up with the idea of using one of the lower bunks as a way down to their command center. It would easily hide it and they could just give a hard slap so many times and it would lower to show a ladder going down. Eventually Hogan planned to have more but in six months, it wasn't bad.
"What's going on, Colonel?" LeBeau asked when the sirens went off and Sergeant Schultz had barged in demanding everyone get so roll call could be done.
"I don't know but after roll call, I want you and Newkirk to check it out." Hogan answered.
"Will do, Colonel." LeBeau smiled.
After roll call, which was explained away by some ridiculous excuse, everyone went back to their bunks except LeBeau and Newkirk. They changed into black outfits and went down the tunnel and out the stump.
When they stepped out, both soldiers felt something wasn't right but couldn't see anything right away. Shrugging they went the direction a bright light had been seen. Once at the clearing, staying within the trees, LeBeau and Newkirk exchanged looks before turning around and heading back.
As they approached the stump, watching for any soldiers, they raised their weapons when an older man in fatigues stood up.
"Whoa, I'm not the enemy." Jack stated quietly.
"Who are you?" Newkirk demanded.
Jack debated what to tell them before deciding the less lies told the better, they had enough to skirt around as it was. "Colonel Jack O'Neill, United States Air Force."
LeBeau and Newkirk stared at him a moment before Newkirk said, "You better come with us, Colonel. Hogan will want to meet you."
"Lead the way." Jack replied. He and his team had already discussed how they should proceed. Daniel had suggested only Jack show himself and once inside, he could alert Hogan to their presence and they could be allowed in; less chance of a bad reaction.
Once inside, Jack was led down the tunnel to the radio room.
"Wait here, I'll be right back." Newkirk said as he climbed the ladder. He stepped into the room as Hogan made his way over.
"What did you find?" he asked.
"Well, no light or anything but I did find someone." Newkirk answered.
"Someone? Who?" Hogan asked.
"He says his name is Colonel Jack O'Neill and he's in the American Air Force." Newkirk shared.
"O'Neill, O'Neill, don't recognize the name. Guess I better go talk to him." Hogan said as he descended the ladder.
"Should I wait here, sir?" Newkirk asked.
"You should, just in case Schultz comes by." Hogan answered as Newkirk nodded his head.
Hogan made his way down and turned to see the man in fatigues still standing, waiting.
"Colonel Jack O'Neill?" Hogan asked.
Jack gave a nod, "Colonel Hogan."
"How is it you came to be here? Anyone else with you?" Hogan asked.
"He was alone, Colonel." LeBeau interjected.
"Actually, my team is above waiting to be let in." Jack shared.
"Your team?" Hogan questioned. "How many are there?"
"Three." Jack answered.
"LeBeau, go let our friends in." Hogan directed.
LeBeau nodded and went back to the stump. He looked around before quietly saying, "Hey, you with Colonel O'Neill, come with me."
Sam, Daniel and Teal'c rose slowly so as to not startle the Frenchman and walked to the stump then followed him down.
"Colonel Hogan, allow me to introduce my team: Major Samantha Carter, Doctor Daniel Jackson and Teal'c." Each giving a nod as their name was said.
"Alright, what can I do for you and your team, Colonel? How did you know to come here? What unit are you with?" Hogan asked as he dismissed LeBeau in case Schultz came by. Hogan was working on the Sergeant to get him to share information but it was a work in progress.
"Well, Colonel, we're not sure you can. We'll tell you as much as we can about how we got here and we're not with any unit you know of." Jack stated. He had taken in the underground area and noticed only three tunnels; in the history books, there had been quite a few more. If he had to guess, Colonel Hogan was just beginning his operations.
"What do you mean? I've made a few contacts; we could get you out and to England in a few days." Hogan explained.
"Carter?" Jack looked to his astrophysicist.
"Sir, do you have access to a computer linked to a solar probe by chance?" Carter knew it was a long shot but it never hurt to ask.
"A what?" Hogan asked, completely confused over what the Major was asking.
"It's a way to monitor coronal mass ejections, sir." Carter answered as simply as she could.
"Translation, Colonel, she wants to see if there's any sun flares anytime soon." Jack told Hogan.
"We don't have anything that can do that." Hogan answered as he looked at his watch. "It's too late to do anything tonight. You're welcome to stay here, it's not much at the moment but you'll be safe."
"We've slept in worse places." Jack shared just before Hogan climbed the ladder and disappeared for the night.
HH & SG-1
"Alright, let's get comfy." Jack stated as they settled in for the night.
"Sir, how much will we share?" Carter wanted to know.
"As little as we can get away with, Carter, you know that." Jack replied.
"Jack, this is the beginning of Colonel Hogan's campaign." Daniel stated, his voice full of excitement.
"I know, Daniel." Jack smiled.
"You know, sir, I could help with the tunnels." Carter offered.
"Would that not change things, Major Carter?" Teal'c cocked a brow.
"Carter?" Jack prompted.
"How would you do that, Sam?" Daniel prodded.
"Well, it could change things, yes, but I have a crystal from the Tok'ra that I carry with me." Carter answered as she showed the others.
"I don't think we're deep enough underground for a Tok'ra crystal to work. How'd you get one anyway?" Daniel wanted to know.
"General Hammond wanted me to carry a small one in case we ever needed it. Since I have the markers from Jolinar, it works for me." Sam shared. "Also, the one I have is a small one, it doesn't make huge tunnels. It's the ones they use to scope out an area before using their bigger ones, to make sure it's safe to set up camp."
"I see. Well, Jack, what do you think?" Daniel was curious.
"Will it make them crystal?" Jack asked.
"No sir, they'll be earthen like the ones already dug." Sam told him.
"Let's see what Hogan thinks of it and where he would want the tunnels." Jack said. They nodded as they munched on a few energy bars before settling in for the night.
HH & SG-1
The next morning, after roll call, Newkirk asked about their guests.
"Are they really US Air Force?" he asked.
"Well, O'Neill and Carter are definitely military. Teal'c is too but appears to be a different branch. However, Doctor Jackson isn't but has an air of confidence one would pick up from being around the military." Hogan told him.
"How did they get here?" Kinch wondered.
"I don't know, there wasn't enough time to really ask." Hogan stated. "I'll be back in a bit, you keep an eye out." he told Kinch who nodded.
After descending into the tunnel, he found the newcomers already up and waiting.
"Sorry, I had to be seen out there for a bit." Hogan apologized.
"Understood." Jack told him.
"You never did say how you came to be here." Hogan started.
Jack looked around before asking, "Are we secure here?"
Knowing what he was referring to, Hogan nodded. "We just bugged Klink's office but nothing on our end."
Jack gave Hogan a serious look before deciding to tell him about the Stargate program and what they thought had happened; figuring it wouldn't screw up the timeline too bad since the military was trying to figure out the 'gate during this time with little luck.
"So you're saying that this Stargate program is just beginning and in fifty years they'll have four-man teams going to other worlds?" Disbelief and awe was clear in his voice.
"Yes, sir." Carter answered.
"I see, well, I don't have anything here that could help you with the solar flares but I could call Momma Bear and see what they could do." Hogan suggested.
"Will they want to know why? We really can't afford for them to know the truth." Jack cautioned.
"I'll think of something." Hogan assured them.
An hour later, Kinch came down and made the call. They were told to check back in an hour. Hogan dismissed Kinch so he could talk more to the visitors.
"Colonel Hogan, the Major has an idea to help you with your tunnel system, if you wish." Jack shared.
"Help with tunnels? Any help would be appreciated greatly." Hogan answered, eager to hear what the woman would suggest.
"Where did you want tunnels, sir?" Carter asked.
Hogan walked over to the radio table and opened a drawer, pulled out a map and showed them what they had and what he wanted to eventually have.
"May I ask how you plan to do this becauseā¦I don't think you're planning to do it the way it's been done so far." Hogan asked.
"Sorry, sir, it's classified." Carter gave him a small smile.
"Of course it is." Hogan responded but there was no heat behind it. He understood he didn't need to know everything, it was enough that he knew of the Stargate Program and that he would be successful in the end. None of his team knew their visitors origins, yet. They would need to know, at least about the Stargate to help SG-1 get back home; he would tell them then.
HH & SG-1
After learning that a solar flare would happen again in two weeks' time, SG-1 decided to help Hogan out. Since no one, but a select few, knew they were there they helped to get supplies so Hogan could help various people escape the war. It was his creative genius after all that would save so many.
Major Carter used the Tok'ra crystal to make six new tunnels and Hogan was very impressed. He found he didn't care he didn't know how she had done it but that she had. He had his men to put support beams up to make sure they wouldn't collapse but no one minded since they hadn't had to dig them. It had made their lives a lot easier. Also, the amount of supplies they were sneaking into the tunnels helped tremendously. Hogan hadn't allowed anyone but Kinch, Newkirk and LeBeau down into the tunnels while SG-1 was there, no need to chance someone slipping up and the fewer who knew, the better off everyone would be.
However, thanks to their efforts, they had beds and bedding, clothes (uniforms and civilian) and bolts of fabric with all the extras so they could make whatever they needed, medical supplies, extra radio parts, food staples, German paper and ink with a few other things. Hogan knew he had been doing well, considering the short amount of time he had been working on his system but the help SG-1 gave him made it possible to start helping others sooner than he had expected.
One of the last trips the team made, Daniel had stumbled across an abandoned distillery that he had dismantled and brought back. Hogan had laughed at the thought of producing their own alcohol. Fortunately, O'Neill had come up with cover names for them so the contacts they had made could continue to help Hogan and his crew after they were gone.
What amazed Hogan the most was that SG-1 had managed to find a way to power the Stargate so it could be activated. They would have to dial it manually but it didn't seem to faze them so Hogan could only guess they had done it before. As much as he really wanted to know more about them, he knew it would be too risky. The less he knew about the future, the better off and safer everyone was.
When the time came for SG-1 to try to return to their time, Hogan and his crew were sad to see them go. They had helped and been quite resourceful, more than they knew. He wished he could give them the credit they deserved but understood that would raise too many questions and no one wanted that. He hadn't a clue how they managed to get the power necessary to power the 'gate but was amazed when he saw it in action. He was the only one to escort them to the site and couldn't believe his eyes. Newkirk and LeBeau hadn't gone far enough to see the Stargate; it was about a fifty more clicks away, in another open area.
"Well, Colonel, this is goodbye." Jack told Hogan as he shook his hand.
"Sorry to see you folks go." Hogan told them sincerely. "You have no idea how much help you've been."
"It was an honor to help you, sir." Carter smiled as she went to shake his hand. However, Hogan turned her hand over so he could kiss the back of it.
Smiling his charming smile, Hogan replied, "The honor was mine, Major." Making Sam blush.
"Doctor Jackson, it was a pleasure." Hogan stated as he shook his hand.
"An experience never to be forgotten." Daniel returned with a smile.
"Teal'c, good luck in the future." Hogan told the stoic soldier with a head nod.
"And to you, Colonel Hogan." Teal'c returned the nod.
When the 'gate whooshed to life, Hogan was startled and amazed, he'd never seen anything like it. After watching SG-1 step through the "watery" portal, Hogan heard the sirens blare to life and knew it was time to return. Giving the 'gate a final salute and smile, he made his way back before the guards could catch him with a bounce in his step. Whatever the future held for him and his operation, they had an excellent beginning and he owed it all to four heroes who would never be known.

AN: Well, that's it! :) Hope you enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun to write. I love Hogan's Heroes and see it as a way to tip our hats to those brave soldiers who did attempt to escape their prisons. We owe so much to our men and women in uniform along with those who help in other ways that few ever know about. Anyway, thanks for checking it out! Love to you all!
