Becky's POV:
That night, Spike and I sat on the living room couch, watching Little Big League. Both of us were just so happy that he didn't have to move.
I sat up. "I was so scared that we would lose our relationship. We just started dating, and I thought that you moving would put a pause in our relationship."
"Me too. I couldn't bare losing you, especially since we just started dating. When Coach Danny said that they'd probably take me away, my heart literally started to pound." He kissed me on my forehead. "I'm just glad that Sean's parents don't mind me staying. I was so nervous to tell anyone, other than you, what was happening to me."
I leaned up to him and gave him a big kiss. "You shouldn't have been afraid or scared to tell anyone. Especially my dad, you know he'd always help you out with literally anything."
"I know, I know. I was just nervous about what dad would do if he knew that I'd told someone about what he was doing to me."
"Well, think about how good that turned out. Your dad agreed to therapy, so that's a big step in the right direction."
"If he stays true to his word, and he may not. But I hope he does." He smiled at me. "Since we both have our bikes, do you want to, you know?"
I grinned, knowing exactly what he meant. "Yeah. But be prepared to get your butt beat. Again."
He grinned as we walked out the garage door, where we had put our bikes. I put on my helmet as he put on his. We drove our bikes all the way to Cherry Hill, then stopped at the top.
"Ready?" I asked.
"Always."
"On three." I gripped my handlebars, as tightly as I could.
"One." Spike leaned forward, just a tad.
"Two." I firmly planted my right foot and pedal closest to Spike.
"Three!" We shouted, as we propelled down the hill, at top speed.
The trees flew by them in a blur, as the starburst sky meet with the tips of the trees.
The endorphins and adrenaline inside me, skyrocketed and I zoomed by him, leaving him in the trail of my dust.
I came to a stop at the bottom of the hill, waiting on Spike to slow down. I laughed as he pulled up beside me. "That was great!" I rejoiced, giddily.
Sweat marks lined his temples. "Remind me not to wear a sweatshirt next time we go race. Especially in the summer. I'm boiling." He chortled.
"I could've told you that was a bad idea. It's so hot out here, Florida would die."
I don't know why I made that joke; it wasn't even that funny. But for some reason, it made Spike die. He cackled for like, five minutes straight.
"I don't know if it's as hot as Florida, but in the summer, it gets pretty close." Spike laughed. "Say, tonight, do you want to go to a movie with me?"
"Like- like a date?" I grinned.
"Um, yeah. Exactly like a date." He grinned back at me. "So, do you want to? We can go see anything you want to."
"Um, it would either have to be Brink! or The Parent Trap." I said. "I kind of want to go see Brink!"
"Ok, yeah we can. For some reason, some people think that I look like the boy Val. I mean, in all honesty, I don't. For one, I'm no where near his age. I'm 14, he's at least 16 or 17. And two, my hair is short, his is long."
I thought back to what Val looked like and honestly, if Spike was the same age as him, they could definitely pass as twins.
We rode to our local movie theater. I chained my bike to the bike racks as he did the same. We walked inside and up to a ticket booth. "Two tickets, please." Spike said, as he reached into his wallet.
"For what movie?" The girl asked.
"For Brink!, please."
"Ok. That'll be 11.50." She printed out two tickets and we walked inside to load up on snacks.
We both got bucket of butter popcorn. I grabbed a bunch of different candy. I got Swedish Fish, Milk Duds, Sour Patch Kids, Sugar Babies, and Skittles.
"Hey, to, you know, save a little bit of money, do you want to share a Coke?" Spike looked at me, as he walked over to the soda station.
"Yeah, sure." I said. He filled the cup with ice and then filled it to the brim with Coke.
We took our tickets and tried to find our theater. After a few minutes of walking around, checking the theater numbers, we finally found it. Theater 4b.
We walked in and found our seats. "Hey, at least we found it BEFORE the movie started." I laughed.
"Yeah, that was lucky." Spike opened his pack of Skittles. "Mmm. These are so good."
As the ads continued on, the room suddenly started to get darker and darker. "I think it's about to start." I hissed.
The movie started and the entire room went quiet. Everyone stopped talking and brought their attention to the screen.
I like the guy that plays Andy 'Brink' Brinker. His name is Erik von Detten. I think it's mainly his kind attitude.
The guy I don't necessarily like is Val Horrigan. His actor is Sam Horrigan. And Spike looks so much like him! It's literally insane!
Erik and Sam play in one of my favorite movies together. It's called Escape To Witch Mountain.
During the middle of the movie, I felt someone grab my hand. I looked over to see Spike, grinning at me, the gap in his front teeth showing.
I couldn't stop the grin that was taking over my face. We leaned towards each other until our lips touched.
We broke apart a few minutes later, and the movie was almost over! It was already on the race, and yes! Pup 'n' Suds won!
We got up and shoved all the left over candy in my shorts pockets. "Are you wanting to go home right away? Or do you want to get something to eat before we go home?" Spike inquired, as he put his helmet on.
"We can go to the diner. I'm starving." I said, as I hopped on my bike.
We rode our bikes to diner. Louise came to take our order. "Well, hi there Becky and Spike. What can I get for you?"
"I want a cheeseburger with a coke and a side of fries. Ooh, and do you mind getting me a thing of honey mustard?"
"Sure thing, sweetheart," She turned to Spike. "And for you?"
"Same as her." He said, grinning.
"Ok, I'll have it out to you in no time." With that, she headed back into the kitchen.
Within a few minutes, we had our food. "Here you go." She placed the food down in front of us and man, did it smell good!
We ate our food in no time. We parted ways as we left the diner. He went to Sean Murphy's house and I went to mine. "Well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow sometime." He said.
"Yeah, see you. Love you." I said.
He sighed and then smiled at me. "I love you too, Becks."
When I got home, I took a shower and then went straight to bed, relishing in the memories of tonight. I didn't want to go to sleep, but as soon as I did, I was knocked out.
Spike's POV:
Later that night, Becks and were just sitting on the couch, watching Little Big League, just enjoying each other's company... and lips.
I was so happy that I got to stay, I didn't want to move from the spot we were at. It's special.
Then out of nowhere, Becks sat up on the couch. She turned to me. "I was so scared that we would lose our relationship. We just started dating, and I thought that you moving would put a pause in our relationship."
I smiled at her, thankful the odds were in our favor, at least this time. "Me too. I couldn't bare losing you, especially since we just started dating. When Coach Danny said that they'd probably take me away, my heart literally started to pound." I kissed her on her forehead. "I'm just glad that Sean's parents don't mind me staying. I was so nervous to tell anyone, other than you, what was happening to me."

"If he stays true to his word, and he may not. But I hope he does." I smiled at her. "Since we both have our bikes, do you want to, you know?"
She grinned and I could tell that she knew exactly what I was talking about. "Yeah. But be prepared to to get your ass beat. Again."
I grinned at her as we headed out the door that lead to her garage. That's where we put our bikes. I grabbed my helmet and stuck it on as she did the same.
We rode our bikes all the way to Cherry Hill, then stopped at the very top. "Ready?" Becky looked over at me.
"Always."
"On three." She gripped her handlebars with a death grip.
"One." I began to lean forward, to try to get a better distance.
"Two." She planted her right on the pedal closest to me.
"Three!" We bellowed as we zoomed straight down the hill.
The trees flew by us in a blur, the sky a starburst pink and golden color, shining down on us.
I tried to keep up with her, but she zoomed right on by me, leaving me in her dust. "That was great!" She exclaimed, her eyes sparkling.
I had sweat running down my face, mainly because I decided to wear a sweatshirt, because I thought it'd be cold. Boy, was I ever wrong. "Remind me not to wear a sweatshirt next time we go race. Especially in the summer. I'm boiling." I laughed.
"I could've told you that was a bad idea. It's so hot out here, Florida would die."
Her joke wasn't even that funny; really it wasn't. But just the way she said it got me cackling. "I don't know if it's as hot as Florida, but in the summer, it gets pretty close." I laughed. "Say, tonight, do you want to go to a movie with me?"
"Like- like a date?" She questioned, while grinning at me.
"Um, yeah. Exactly like a date." I grinned back at her. "So, do you want to? We can go see anything you want to."
"Um, it would have to be either Brink! or The Parent Trap." She looked like she was in deep thought. "I kind of want to go see Brink!"
"Ok, yeah we can. For some reason, people think that I look like the boy, Val. I mean, in all honesty, I don't. For one, I'm nowhere near his age. I'm 14, he's at least 16 or 17. And two, I have short hair, he has long hair."
We rode to our local movie theater and chained our bikes to the bike racks outside. We walked to a ticket booth, just as we walked in. "Two tickets, please." I said, getting out my wallet.
"For what movie?" The girl at the booth, asked.
"For Brink!, please."
"Ok. That'll be 11.50." I handed her the money, then Becks and I walked inside to get some before we went to our theater room.
We both got a tub of butter popcorn. We also grabbed a LOT of candy. Swedish Fish, Sugar Babies, Milk Duds, Sour Patch Kids, and Skittles.
We walked over to the sodas station to get a drink. I feel like we should try and save a little bit of money, by only getting one coke, to share.
"Hey, to, you know, save a little bit of money, do you want to share a Coke?" I inquired, staring at her.
"Yeah, sure." I filled the cup up with ice and the filled all the way to the brim with Coke. Then topped it off with a top and a straw.
We took our tickets and walked around trying to find our theater number. After a few minutes of looking, we finally found it.
We walked in and found our seats. "Hey, at least we found it BEFORE the movie started." Becky said, laughing.
"Yeah, that was lucky." I said, as I opened my pack of Skittles. "Mmm. These are good."
As the ads progressed, the room suddenly got darker and darker. "I think it's about to start." Becky hissed.
The movie started and the entire room got quiet. Everyone stopped talking and brought their attention to the screen.
During the middle of the movie, I reached over and grabbed Becky's hand. I grinned. She looked over at me, grinning back.
We both started leaning forward, until our lips touched. When we finally pulled apart, I realized that the movie was almost over with.
It was on one of the last scenes, when Val and Brink did that downhill race. And... and... yes! Brink won! Because Val totally cheated.
We got up and headed outside to where we'd put our bikes. "Are you wanting to go home right away? Or do you want to get something to eat before we go home?"
"We can go to the diner. I'm starving." Becky stated as we hopped on our bikes.
We rode our bikes to the diner. Louise came to take our order. "Well, hi there Becky and Spike. What can I get for you?"
"I want a cheeseburger with a coke and a side of fries. Ooh, and do you mind getting me a thing of honey mustard?"
"Sure thing, sweetheart." She turned to me. "And for you?"
"Same as her." I grinned.
"Ok, I'll have it out in no time." And then she walked back into the kitchen.
Within just a few minutes, she brought our food out to us. It smelt so good, I believe I was definitely drooling. "Here you go."
It didn't take us that long to eat, and then we were heading out the door, going home. We parted ways; I went to Sean Murphy's house and she went to her house. "Well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow sometime." I said.
"Yeah, see you. Love you." Oh how those very words warmed my soul.
I smiled at her. "I love you too, Becks."
I rode my bike to Sean's house and parked it in the garage. I walked into the room I was sharing with Sean.
He was on his bed, reading a football practice book. He looked up as soon as I entered the room. "Hey, where've you been?"
"Um, I've been hanging out with Becks all day. Why?"
"Oh, your girlfriend." He sang in a girly falsetto.
I shoved him, grinning. "Shut up, Murph."
"Hey, I think you two make a cute couple. Sure, at first, I definitely thought it was weird. But now, I think y'all are perfect for each other."
"Gee thanks, Murph." I immediately got under the covers. "Well, sleep good."
"Yeah, you too." He said, as he cut the lights off and I drifted off to sleep in a completely pitch black room.
