Becky's POV:
When I woke up later that day, I saw that Spike wasn't asleep with me anymore. I got up and walked to Junior's room.
I knocked on it. "Come in." I heard him say. I opened the door. He looked up at me from his bed. "What is it, Beck?"
"Um, do you know where Spike is?" I asked.
"Uh, yeah. He left about maybe 10 minutes ago."
"Did he say why?" I was curious why he hadn't said goodbye. But I'll say, I was asleep so that's probably why he didn't wake me up.
"He said that Murphy called him and said that it was dinner time and he needed to come home."
"Ok, I'll just call Murph's house to see if he can talk now." I picked up the home phone and dialed Murphy's number from the address book.
"Hello?" Murph asked.
"Murph? It's Becky. Is Spike there?" I asked.
A sudden silence came over the phone. "Murph?"
He cleared his throat. "No. I thought he was at your house. He hasn't been here since this morning."
I frowned. "Ok, I'll go see if I can find him." I hung up the phone, then turned to Junior. "He didn't make it to Murphy's house. I'm worried."
"Ok. I'll tell mom and Danny that you left." I walked out of his room and put on a pair of tennis shoes.
I walked to the drive in, which honestly that was where I thought he would've been. But he wasn't there. There was only one other place he could be. The park.
I walked to the park and smiled when I saw Spike. I started to walk forward, but then I stopped abruptly when I saw that he was NOT alone. There was a blonde, skinny girl there with him.
And that blonde girl just so happened to be my cousin, Debbie. I watched for a few seconds to see if anything was going on between them.
Just as I started to walk away, I saw them kiss each other. Maybe Debbie leaned in and he didn't expect it, but still. Debbie knew that we were dating, and she still chose to kiss him.
I burst into tears and stared at them for a minute or two, tears flowing from my eyes. I saw Debbie look up and her eyes widened.
Spike was already running towards me at top speed. But I was too fast for him. I ran away, not stopping. "Becks! Wait up! Let me explain!"
There was no excuse for this. I couldn't deal with the betrayal, mostly from my cousin than him. I don't think he kissed her, I know she kissed him. But it still doesn't help the hurt.
I lost sight of him by the time I was halfway to my house. When I arrived at my house, I opened the front door and ran to my room. I slammed the door behind myself and threw myself down on my bed, sobbing.
My tears couldn't be stopped, there was no telling how long they would last. Then I heard a hesitant knock on my door.
I got up and opened the door to see Junior standing in front of my door. "What do you want?" I snapped, with tears in my eyes.
"What's wrong with you?" He asked, looking concerned. I barely got the words out before I burst out into tears again.
Spike POV:
After I'd been asleep for sometime, I woke up. Mainly because Junior told me that someone was on the phone for me.
I got up off the couch, careful not to wake up Becks. She looks so beautiful when she's asleep. "Hello?" I picked up the phone.
A girly sounding boy answered. "Hey, Spike. Mom said dinners ready. I'm in the park, so just meet me here." Murphy, I guess, said. It didn't sound like him, though.
"Ok, sure." I hung up the phone. "Hey, Murphy, says that his mom made dinner and that I need to come home."
"Ok. See you later, Spike. I'll tell Becky where you went when she wakes up." He said, before I walked out the door.
I walked to the park, which wasn't that far of a walk, anyway. When I got there, I couldn't see Murphy anywhere. All I saw was a blonde girl.
I'm pretty sure she's Becky's cousin, Dani? No, Debra? Wait that ain't it, either. Wait, I got it! Debbie!
"Hi." She said, walking up to me. "Did you get my call?"
I was flabbergasted. "You made that call to me? Why?"
"I don't know. Maybe I think you're cute."
"You do know that I'm dating Becky, right? Your cousin?"
"I'm aware. But it doesn't stop how I feel." This whole conversation was making me feel uncomfortable. I don't like anyone but Becky.
"Listen. Please stop flirting with me-." She cut me off as she leaned towards me and kissed me.
I tried to pull away, but she had put her arms around my back, to where I couldn't escape.
I heard something from behind us, that made my blood run cold. I turned to see Becky, running away.
I got to my feet and ran after her. "Becks! Wait up! Let me explain!" She kept on running until I lost her.
I sat down on the grass, and curled up into a little ball, sobbing my eyes out. I honestly never thought I'd been crying over Becky "Icebox" O'Shea.
But here I am, sobbing over her, my first girlfriend and my first kiss.
Junior POV:
About ten minutes after Becky left, I heard the front door open then slam shut. And I knew that Becky was home.
After she made it to her room, she slammed the door behind her. Uh oh. I wonder what happened.
I opened my bedroom door and knocked on hers. She opened it, tear stains on her cheeks. "What do you want?" She sniffled.
"What's wrong with you?" I asked, trying to be a brotherly figure.
"Junior, I-I." She sobbed.
"Becky, you what?" I asked, taking a softer approach.
"I saw Spike in the park. He was kissing Debbie."
I set my jaw, growing angrier by the second. I hugged her. "It's ok. He wasn't any good, anyway."
"No, that's the problem. He was the best and only boyfriend I've ever had." She sobbed.
I hugged her tightly. "I'm going to go find him and have a talk with him."
I walked out the front door and walked to Murphy's house. I rang the doorbell. Murphy answered the door and from inside, I heard someone or at least on the tv, sobbing their eyes out. "Oh. Hey, Junior. Now's not a good time."
"Where's Spike? I need to talk to him."
"Sorry, man. He's too upset to talk to anyone right now."
"Wait, why's he upset? He's the one that kissed Debbie O'Shea. And Becky saw them."
"What are you talking about? He didn't kiss her."
"Wait, what? You mean she kissed him?"
"Yeah, that's exactly what I mean." Murphy said. "You might want to go home and tell Becky what really happened. If she doesn't talk to Spike soon, I'm scared for him."
"Ok. Thanks for the tip. I'm going to go tell her right now." I ran all the way back home and in the front door.
I didn't even knock on her door this time. I just burst in. "Becky. Call. Spike. Right. Now." I huffed.
I pushed her to the phone. "What? Why?" She inquired, picking up the phone.
"Don't ask questions. Just do it." I dialed Murph's number and let her do the talking.
When she came into the living room after five minutes, she had a smile on her face. "Got it all settled?" I grinned up at her.
"You bet. Thanks for that, Junior. I knew Spike didn't kiss her and I KNOW Debbie."
"Then why didn't you talk to him about it? If you knew he didn't kiss her." I said, confused. GIRLS ARE SO CONFUSING!!!!
"I was already too hurt. Just the fact that my cousin would do this to me, hurts my feelings. I don't know if our relationship will ever be the way it was before."
She's going to break up with Spike? But she can't! They belong together. "You can't break up with Spike! You just can't!" I cried.
She stared at me with a confused look on her face. "What? I'm not breaking up with him. I meant that mine and Debbie's relationship will never be the same." She giggled. "I love him too much to break up with him."
I wiped imaginary sweat off my forehead and smiled at her. "I'm glad."
We laughed, getting on the couch, to watch a football game. The Giants were on, and like always, they won.
