Chapter Preface: It was really sad upon hearing the death of Pua Magasiva, who passed away on 11th May 2019. He will forever be missed and this chapter is dedicated to the memory of the actor who brought us Shane Clarke, the original Ninja Storm Red Ranger.

Chapter Summary: Shane Clarke dies during battle and wakes up to a discovery and meets a fellow immortal.

From Ninja to Immortal

Shane had no idea what was going on. The last thing he could remember was fighting the Radical Ninjas alongside his teammates Tori, Dustin, Blake, Hunter and Cam. They fought for what the then red ranger/leader of the Ninja Storm team thought to be his last time.

It was quite an intense battle as these ninjas were more or less for Lothor's teachings than what the academy had to offer. For the life of him, Shane had no idea why any of those ninjas would be supportive of the evil deeds Lothor had done. Then again, Lothor was dead, and so was Kanoi Watanabe.

The last thing Shane remembered was taking a fatal blow that was meant for Dustin and Tori. The ninjas tossed them both to the ground as they both took a massive beating.

"Dustin!" Cam called out.

"Tori!" Blake yelled even louder, worried about his wife.

"Oh no, you don't," Shane muttered before jumping in front of his friends, taking the fatal blow for them and demorphing in the process.

"Shane!" Tori cried out.

"No!" Dustin yelled.

"Let's leave them," the leader of the radicals told his group, "the Wind Ninjas are now down a member. That's good enough for today."

With that, the radicals left the area. Hunter tried to stop them, but with no such luck.

"That's right!" Hunter yelled with anger in his voice, "Leave, you cowards!"

Shane could tell this was it for him as Dustin and Tori were the first to surround him.

"Damn it, Shane!" Tori yelled, "Why?! Why did you take the hit for us?!"

"I had to," Shane answered calmly, "you're...my teammates...my friends."

"Shane!" Hunter, Blake and Cam each called out as they hurried to their leader.

Shane managed to get his morpher and proceeded to hand it to Dustin, "Take it. Take my...morpher."

"Are you serious?" Dustin asked in disbelief, "You aren't dying."

"Quit making jokes," Shane scoffed, "this is not funny. You guys have to keep fighting. You...guys have to...stop the radicals."

"No, we can't," Tori cried.

"You can," Shane replied, "I believe in you...Dustin..."

"Yes?" Dustin glanced at his fallen teammate.

"Promise me you'll...make the time...to reunite with your...long lost father...and brother," Shane insisted in between breaths.

"I don't have a choice now," Dustin nodded, "I'll see to it that I do."

"And you guys...promise me," Shane told his teammates, "you won't stop...until the radicals...have been stopped."

"We promise," Tori nodded.

"We will never stop until the radicals have been defeated for good," Cam vowed.

With that, Shane took one last shuddering breath and everything faded to black.

-Highlander-One-Shots-

Shane couldn't tell how long it had been since he last saw his teammates, or for that matter, how long he had been lying on the ground. It felt like hours since it was now night time. The former red ranger couldn't tell how long into the night it was. He wasn't sure if the others were going to return for his body for a burial.

He needed to figure out what the heck was going on and get answers and fast. Shane decided to get the heck out of dodge before the others suspected he was alive.

He wandered into the woods, believing no one would find him. If he was going to get some answers, he was going to have to leave Blue Bay Harbor to do so.

Shane Clarke knew he had to get answers and to figure out what the heck happened to him.

-Highlander-One-Shots-

Shane had no idea how long he had been walking, but he was pretty certain that he had left Blue Bay Harbor by now because he didn't recognize the area he was currently walking at. For all he know, he could possibly be out of California, far away from Blue Bay Harbor.

The former red ranger was startled upon sensing something. Was someone following him? Who was it? A ghost? Did the others find out his whereabouts?

When Shane turned around, he didn't see any of his teammates. Instead, he saw a new face. This man was tall, brown hair and looked at him with a sword in hand.

"Take it easy!" Shane exclaimed, preparing to defend himself, albeit, he was not sure if this was going to do any good, "I'm just looking for answers! Who are you anyway?"

"I'm Connor MacLeod," the man proceeded to introduce himself, "of the Clan MacLeod."

"Like I said," Shane glanced at Connor, "I am just looking for answers. I was fatally wounded in a battle and then I woke up and found myself wandering around since, for I don't know how long."

There was a pause of silence. Then, Connor proceeded to put away his sword for the time being, "Right. I had a feeling an immortal would be close, and I was right."

"I'm immortal?" Shane looked confused.

"Very much so," Connor answered, "you will be needing someone to train you."

"What do you mean?" Shane asked.

"Come with me," Connor nodded, "and I will explain everything."

Author's Note: I did a lot of thinking on who Shane's teacher would be in making this chapter with help from fellow Highlander fan Harry2. It was between Connor MacLeod, Duncan MacLeod or Methos. It was kind of a hard choice unlike with Vida, who you'll see who her teacher is within the next chapter or two. However, the verdict is in! It is Connor MacLeod. I knew a bit more about Connor than I do about Methos. I would have to rewatch the series some more to have picked Methos as I'm relatively new to the franchise, but I am enjoying it. Don't worry, Methos will join the fold as well as Joe Dawson, I haven't forgotten about them.

Thanks Harry for helping me out with the suggestions!
