Deku pulled open the door to the infirmary slowly, peeking inside. His eyes passed over Recovery Girl—who already looked exhausted at his presence—and over to Nakano, who was laying down on a bed. Maybe this isn't the best time…

She peeked her eyes open, and her eyebrows raised in intrigue when she noticed him.

"Hi, Midoriya," she said. Oh, nevermind. I think I'm good. He smiled at her and walked into the room. Recovery Girl gave Deku a quick once-over and handed him a box of bandages before going back to her paperwork.

He turned back to Nakano and sat down on a stool beside her, and pulled out his notebook. She raised an eyebrow and sat up.

"What's up?" she asked.

"Oh! Sorry, I just wanted to talk about how your match went and your quirk," he said.

"That reminds me, didn't you ask for me to talk about quirks like… two weeks ago?" she asked. Deku nodded. He had been waiting for a good time to ask, but he hadn't found the chance until then. "And then I forgot to do anything about it. Sorry about that."

"Ah, it's not your fault. I should have reminded you," he said.

"No, I should've remembered." Deku opened his mouth to refute her again, but she continued. "Anyways, how was my fight? Hm… It was okay? Bakugo is a good opponent. I might've won if I tried harder."

He had guessed that she wasn't putting in much effort by the way she acted during the fight. Turned out he was correct. He opened the book to the new page that he had dedicated to Nakano and quickly wrote down a note about her lack of effort.

Nakano peered down at his book, then leaned in closer to observe it better.

"Did you draw me?" she asked in slight disbelief. Deku blushed and drew the book closer to him.

"Uh, yeah. I do that for everyone, though," he said.

"Oh, don't worry. I wasn't getting the wrong idea or anything. It just felt kind of weird since I don't think anyone has ever drawn me before," Kuri said with an awkward laugh. "Now, I should probably talk about my quirk. What do you already have written down?"

Deku scrambled to read off what he had already written.

"Um, your quirk is called Super Jump, and it lets you jump very far and very high without 'taking fall damage' as you said. Your records for height and distance are 387 meters and 814 meters, respectively. You said you don't usually jump that far since it's not necessary. Oh, and your hero name is Bunny. I also took some other notes but, uh, they're just some things I observed."

Nakano sat there, thinking, and Deku waited for her to say something.

"Well, I think all there is left to talk about is my physical limits, my power-up, and the story of how my quirk manifested. Unless you're not interested in that story. I'm not sure that it would be information worth taking note of, but the story is kind of funny, in my opinion."

Deku smiled politely.

"I don't mind hearing your story. Just go ahead, and I'll listen," he said. Nakano's eyes lit up, and she grinned.

"Okay, so, my physical limit: when I overuse my quirk, I get leg cramps. That's pretty much it." Deku began to take down notes. Like Kacchan's arm cramps… "My 'power-up' thing is that my quirk is amplified if I consume caffeine, but it makes my landings very sloppy, so I'm more likely to be injured. Because of this, I don't use the power boost."

"Is there a reason why caffeine specifically is what gives you the boost?" he asked. She nodded.

"I'll get to that after my manifestation story. So, it happened when I was five years old, and I was at a friend's house for a birthday party. We were playing on a trampoline…"

"Oh, god…" Nakano laughed at the concerned look on his face.

"Basically, I went flying, which in retrospect probably looked hilarious. Luckily for me, my friend's dad had a bubble quirk, and he used a huge bubble to catch me before I hit the ground."

"A bubble?"

"Yeah," Kuri said. "He could make bubbles with varying strengths, and the one he caught me with was kinda like a big bouncy ball. Anyways, another funny part of the story is that my little brother was also at the party. I was crying because the experience had terrified me, but my brother was laughing because he'd thought it'd looked so funny."

"He laughed?"

"Yup. And he was only three years old too. He's always been a fun kid," Nakano said, stretching. "Hey, I think I'm ready to get my stuff and go back to the dorms. Wanna go now?"

"Yeah, sure," he said. Then Nakano picked up her boots, and they got up and left for their classroom.

Kuri walked along the hallway next to Midoriya, following him back to the classroom because she didn't know how to get to the class from the infirmary.

He glanced back at her, still holding his notebook.

"So, you mentioned your brother. What's his quirk?" Midoriya asked.

"Um, his quirk is-" Kuri stopped and giggled at the absurdity of the name. "It's called 'Level 9000'."

"L- Level 9000?" Kuri nodded.

"He can basically win any game that he plays, whether it's a video game, board game, or sports match. I don't know all of the specifics of his quirk, but I could call him up right now to talk," she said, opening the door to their classroom. She grabbed her bag from her seat and dug out her phone.

She quickly checked what the time was back in California. It was nearing 8 A.M. back at home, so Kuri guessed her brother would be in his bed, possibly playing video games or something. She went to her contacts list and clicked on his name, and put her phone up to her ear.

She waited for a few seconds before hearing her brother's voice on the other side.

"What do you want?" he asked groggily. Kuri grinned.

"Yo, yo, yo, Mayu, my bro!" Kuri exclaimed. "How've you been?" Deku looked at her confusedly. Kuri guessed it was because she was speaking in English.

"Fine," Mayu said.

"Cool. So, I've got a dude here who wants to know about your quirk. Will you tell him about the specifics of it and stuff?"

"Why does someone wanna know about my quirk?"

"Don't ask me. Anyways, I'm gonna put you on speaker mode now, so make sure to speak in Japanese," she said. She looked back at Midoriya. "Okay, Midoriya, go ahead and ask your questions."

"Ah, okay, um… How do you win all the time?" he asked.

"Because it's my quirk." Kuri facepalmed. "I don't really know how I do. It's like I'm just really lucky or something."

"Are there any limitations to your power?" Midoriya asked.

"Uh… I don't always win in team games. When the other people fail, it's out of my control."

"Are you able to turn your quirk off? Like, can you make yourself lose?" Midoriya asked.

"Yeah, I guess so," he said. "If I didn't move while playing a battle royale or something and people shot at me, then I would lose."

Before Midoriya could ask another question, there was a distant voice and loud rustling on Mayu's end. Kuri guessed that their mom had called out to him and he was getting out of bed.

"Sorry, Mama says it's time for breakfast, so I gotta go," Mayu said. Midoriya said goodbye, and Kuri took her phone off speaker mode and put her phone back by her ear before hanging up.

"Okay, Mayu, have a good day. Don't tell Mama and Dada I called you or else they'll expect me to call them," she said.

"Okay then. Bye."

"Bye, buddy," Kuri said before hanging up and sticking her phone in her pocket. She slung her bag over her shoulder and began to walk out of the class. "So, Midoriya, was that enough information for you?" He nodded.

"Yeah, I've got the basics down. Does he have a hero name or costume in mind?" he asked. Kuri looked out the window with a sigh.

"Nope. He doesn't plan on being a hero, because he doesn't think his quirk is applicable. Plus, our parents aren't trying to get him to join a hero school, so he gets to choose some other career."

"Oh, that's right, you said both of your parents are pro heroes!" Midoriya said excitedly.

"Yup. They also have their own agency," she said as they entered the stairwell. Midoriya beamed.

"So, what are their quirks?" he asked.

"Well, my dad and I have the same quirk, and his hero name is Rabbit. We basically have the same conditions for our quirks, though he doesn't have the caffeine power-up thing."

"How come he doesn't have the power-up?" he asked, jotting down notes.

"Because I inherited it from my mom," Kuri said. "Her quirk is that she gets super strength if she consumes caffeine, and her hero name is Hyperr, with two Rs. Oh, I can also show you their hero costumes."

Kuri pulled out her phone and scrolled through her camera roll until she landed on a picture of her parents in uniform. She stopped in the middle of a flight of stairs and showed the picture to Midoriya. He opened up his notebook and quickly sketched out their clothes. He snapped his notebook closed, and they continued to walk down the stairs.

"If you don't mind me asking, how did your parents meet?" Midoriya asked. "I just find it so interesting that two heroes from different countries got together and formed an agency together."

Kuri smiled, then jumped down the last flight of stairs. Midoriya quickly followed suit.

"Well, it's not a super interesting story, but I personally think it's pretty cute," Kuri said with a giggle. "It all started when my dad was in high school. He did a homestay in America while he attended San Francisco Hero Academy: my old school. It just so happened that the family he was staying with was my mom's family, and she went to school with my dad."

They pushed open the front doors of the school, and Kuri stooped to put her boots back on.

"Long story short, they fell in love, and my dad decided to stay in America and marry my mom. Then they had a kid, and that kid was me," she said. "Like I said, the story isn't that interesting."

"Well, I still enjoyed it," Midoriya said. "You're fun to listen to, Nakano."

Kuri grinned.

"Thanks! Sometimes I'm worried that people get annoyed when I talk too much, so it's nice to know that someone doesn't mind," she said with a chuckle. "You know, we haven't talked much yet even though I've been here for two weeks… So, wanna be friends?"

Midoriya beamed.

"Of course!"
