One day, in mid-December, Todoroki walked into the common room and noticed Midoriya, Asui, Uraraka, Iida, and Nakano sitting and talking on the green couches. Midoriya looked up and saw him.

"Oh, hi, Todoroki!" he said. He nodded to Midoriya in response.

"I'm going to ask out Yaoyorozu."

His statement was met with confused stares.

"Well that came out of nowhere…" Midoriya said.

"Wait, what?" Uraraka asked. Todoroki didn't know what was strange about what he'd said.

"I like Yaoyorozu."

"We knew that. You could be pretty obvious at times," Asui said. "So, when are you going to confess?"

"Now. Wish me luck," Todoroki said, turning away.

"Todoroki, wait," Nakano said, grabbing his wrist. "I think you should give this a bit more thought."

"What do you mean," he asked.

"Well, this is just some advice, but don't you want to make your confession a bit special?" she asked. "If you just go up to her now and ask her out, then I think it lacks the 'wow' factor. But, of course, you don't have to listen to me, and you can just go do whatever."

"I concur," Iida said. "And since the holidays are approaching, you might as well give her a gift." The others nodded.

"Like when you give someone a fancy engagement ring to convince them to marry you," Uraraka said. Hm, a ring… Iida scoffed.

"Engagement rings are a symbol of the dedication, love, and commitment that a couple has," Iida said, probably leading into a lecture. "It is not a tool of bribery-"

"Anyways, we were talking about having a Christmas party," Midoriya said, cutting Iida off. "You could ask her out then and give her a present."

"I guess I will then," Todoroki said. "Thank you all for your advice."

A week passed after that conversation, leaving only a few days until the party on Christmas Eve, and Todoroki had already picked out what he was going to give Yaoyorozu for Christmas. He had taken to keeping it in his pocket at all times, but that only made him more tempted to ask her out before the party.

On the morning of December 22nd, it was lightly snowing, creating a pretty winter scene. Todoroki was sitting in class since it was a school day, and Yaoyorozu turned to him with a smile, causing him to panic for a second.

"Isn't it a lovely day, Todoroki?" she said sweetly.

"I think you're lovely." Yaoyorozu blushed.

"Um, excuse me?" she stammered out. Todoroki internally screamed at himself.

"I mean… yes, it is," he said slowly. Brilliant save by me.

"Oh, also, what would you like for a Christmas present?" she asked. "I'm giving one to everyone in the class, so if you tell me now, then I should have enough time to buy it." Todoroki's eyes widened in surprise. He hadn't thought that she would give him something.

"I want you," he said. Yaoyorozu tilted her head in confusion.

"Pardon?" Shoto, quick, you need to back-pedal again!

"I want you… to give me soba," Todoroki said.

"Oh. Is that all you want?" Yaoyorozu asked.

"Yup… Just soba," he said.

A couple of days passed, and it was finally time for the party. Todoroki thought it was pretty fun, and his classmates seemed to be having fun too. They had made a bunch of food, and now people had begun to exchange gifts.

Todoroki was standing off to the side, gripping Yaoyorozu's present in his fist. Was he really ready to tell her? What if she rejected him in front of everyone?

He looked across the room and noticed his friends talking. Midoriya caught his eye and gave him a quick thumbs up. Nakano turned around and gave him a reassuring smile, but her attention caught on something else. Or rather, someone else. It was Yaoyorozu, and she was coming towards him.

"Merry Christmas, Todoroki! Here's your present," she said, handing him a small slip of paper. He was confused but took it. On the paper were written three words in Yaoyorozu's neat handwriting: Let's get soba!

"What's this?" he asked. Yaoyorozu blushed.

"Ah, well, I thought it'd be a bit strange to just give you a bowl of soba, so this paper is my invitation to take you to go buy you soba," she said.

"Like a date?" he asked, the paper crinkling a bit in his hand.

"I guess you could call it that…" she said. Todoroki tucked the paper in his pocket and nodded.

"I actually have something to ask you, Yaoyorozu," he said, reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small box.

"What is it?" she asked with a smile. Todoroki dropped to one knee and revealed the contents of the box.

Inside it was a diamond ring. Yaoyorozu's hands cupped her face in surprise. Some of his classmates turned to look at the spectacle.

"Momo Yaoyorozu, will you marry me?"

"What?!" the class shouted in unison. Aw, crap, Shoto, you messed it up.

"Sorry, I meant, will you go out with me?" he asked. Yaoyorozu blinked at him and then nodded.

The class cheered, and it was as if everyone else melted away, and all he could see was her. Nothing else mattered at that moment but her acceptance. He couldn't wait to see how their relationship would grow.
