#Chapter 5: Introduction to the wolves(1)#
--
Bella was hired by Quil III a few days ago and just started two days ago. And she just need to say that she loved the job!
The records written by the people before her were and are so detailed. Even though she sometimes found herself not understanding their language, but some lessons from Old Quil will fix that.
Bella also planned on starting her own notes and had been taking notebooks and pen around for awhile now. Reyna, who were the only one not on a summer vacation helped her with searching about the topic, she didn't even asks Bella for what it was, which Bella was grateful to her for. Though, she still prepared herself if Reyna did ask. Because Ange did asked about it, and we don't need to mention Jessica or Lauren.
She thought first about making a record book on vampires first, but make a second thought. Bella will make the record book based on the packs first.
But that's the thing. She had little knowledge about the packs, in detailed version, at least. So she need to see the pack first before making a record on them. Because, while there are many records on the shifters, the current pack will be the largest pack in the last few centuries, at least, after the first Quileute pack was made.
But she wasn't ready to see the pack, yet. So she decided to make record book on the tribe itself first.
That part was easy, she just go to her second uncle and asked him questions about the tribe. It was not just about the legends, just traditions, family trees, etc...
It was fun, she learned new things.
She also helped the tribe with other business in the office work. It isn't like they couldn't do it, but sometimes things get stressing, so a little help was welcomed by the tribe.
Outside of works, she also hung out with her friends. They even go out shopping! Bella didn't know how, but she were liking it. Shopping and like. Something you never heard from Bella when you heard her make a sentence with those two words.
Jessica was horrible at choosing her clothing, they found out. Lauren helped her a bit on that. And Bella was glad she had learned a few things from Alice, despite the little pixie treating her like a barbie doll. So Bella was not so horrible at choosing clothes. Angela helped her a bit. Reyna was a bit hopeless, but she was pretty hard headed when she said that her taste are just fine. Bella had to agree with Lauren on that one, they aren't.
But Bella was having fun. That's what important. Well, fun except a few, but we ignore that one, alright?
That was her routine in a month and a half. Work as a nurse with Sue Clearwater, Writing the record book of the tribe, help a little with the accountants in the tribe office, school in the between, Counseling to see what career she might want to pursue for real, QnA with Quil III, go out with the girls, hang out with Jacob and his two best friends in the Black's garage, Have a daughter-father moment with Charlie every Sunday, learning the shaman way with Quil III every once in a while, Meditating, running around La Push, and she was comfortable.
Until she couldn't.
-
Bella was writing the last word in the record.
~B.S
Was what she put in the cover book to tell that it was her first record book. A finished one, too.
One last signature of hers, she closed the book and place it in the shelf with the other record books.
She smiled boardly at the fact that she just finished writing one. And it was faster that she thought it should've been.
But her smile fell when she realized that the next book she need to write about were the people she had been trying to avoid these past months, despite their occasional bumping into each other at the road, supermarket, etc...
She need to see the pack. And she was not sure if she was ready for it yet.
Paul would probably snarl at her, or growl, you pick. Jared will too, but he was more calmer than Paul. Sam will probably held himself back, but he will glare at her with those authoritive eyes. Then Emily- well, she really didn't have nothing to say about Em, Em was- is an angel.
. . . . .She admit it, alright, she was scared, nervous. She had been acting like she was in the not-knowing club all this time and she had been meeting them separately and it had only been Paul or Jared. Sam was a few times, but Paul and Jared, she sees them occasionally.
Bella sighed.
She was going to do it anyway. Sooner or later, she was about to get introduced to the pack.
Then she remembered that Embry was going to phase in about a few weeks time. And then she thought about the trigger to his phasing.
If you were about to phase, temperature will be higher than normal and super warm, anger issues, and straong emotions. But that was the side effect. The read trigger was supposed to be—
Bella froze in her pacing, one that she hadn't realized she did until now. And her mind put things together like a puzzle pieces, the clues and everything were in there and she pictured the result in her mind.
Vampires. Pack. Newborns.
Victoria.
Ah...
That's right, Victoria was the best answer, after that it was a nomad vampire just passing by, but that was a slim possibility. So it had to be her teasing the wolves and navigating the area that triggered Embry's phasing.
Bella bit her lower lip.
Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes, she started to convice herself that she needed to do this, she can't let the same things that happened in her past to happen in this new reality.
Breath out, Bella opened her eyes.
That's right. And Bella know how to win this time. To kill Victoria.
Thinking about it again, why did they waited rather than ambushed those leeches back then?

"Are you sure, young Isabella?" Quil III asked said girl. He knows just how much it makes the girl nervous. After all, Bella was still an insecure girl, even now.
But Bella was not Bella if she ain't stubborn. "Yes, i think I'm ready. I can't ignore them much longer now, too, with threats hanging around the tribe and other humans."
Quil III smiled, genuine smile, the girl was growing up faster than he wanted her to.
He nodded, "I will come with you, i have things to discuss with the Alpha as well."
Bella's bright smile was bringing light everywhere and everytime it was shown to the world. No one will force it down or dim it, Quil III and everyone that had seen it had promised it to themselves. They won't let Bella's smile goes away.
They quickly get ready and Bella take a notebook and a pen, Quil III take something, too, but Bella won't ask him what it was, she knew better but to ask Quil III about shaman-related things.
After they thought they are ready, Bella and Quil III went towards her red tank. Bella helped Quil III then climb in herself. Once they are ready with their safety on, Bella drove them away from Quil III drive way.
They didn't say anything on their way towards Emily. Both are very immersed in their own thoughts. As the tire keep going forward, Emily's house finally got into the screen view. Both did see Sam getting out to the porch.
Bella parked her truck in the drive way and got out of the driver seat to help Quil III get off the truck. Once he did, they walked towards Emily's house, where Sam waited for them with confusion and curiosity, his eyes narrowing to Bella before catching what Quil had in his hand. And he understood that this Quil III wasn't here as Old Quil, the Elder. But as old Quil, the shaman of the tribe.
"Alpha Uley." Quil III said once he was infront of said Alpha, Bella stand behind him. "I have something to tell you."
Sam nodded, "Please come in." he eyed Bella and stopped her from entering, "outsider are not welcome in this conversation."
"Alpha," Quil III raised his voice slightly, "she's not an outsider and she come with me."
"I also had... something, something to discuss with you." Bella added, trying to sound confident. She was actually still bitter with the Uley pack. They did went their way to try kill her daughter in the past. She knew that this pack hadn't split into two, so she couldn't blame them for what the one in her past trying to do.
But that didn't count the fact that she couldn't be bitter or uncomfortable around them.
Sam's brows furrowed before he scoffed and let her in as well.
The three of them walked into the living room and sat down on the uneven couches. Quil III sit on the couch, Sam on the recliner, and Bella on the wooden-handmade single bench beside the couch Quil III sat on.
"So," Sam started after a few seconds of uncomfortable silence, "Shaman," that was their cue.
Quil III turn to Bella, who turn her head at him as well. They talked through their eyes and nodded after awhile. Sam was a little unsettled by the two humans in front of him. They acted like they knew each other for years, but Sam knew better that they just know each other for only a few months.
Quil III turned back to Sam, just in time for Emily to enter the room. Said woman tensed immediately from the tension in the room she just entered, she wants to get out of there as soon as she could, but alas.., Quil III needed her for this talk. She quickly put the drinks on the coffee table, half-heartedly smile at Bella and Quil III and give Sam a kiss on the cheek then stand up to leave to her kitchen.
Before Emily could leave, the shaman spoke, "please join us, Imprintee, this talk will involve you as well." Emily froze before looking at Sam, seeing as the alpha had knitted his brows deep together, she knows that he hadn't expected it as well. The imprintee sat down slowly on a chair closes to her position then and nervously bit her lower lip.
"Okay," Bella was the one to talk first, "we are sorry that we came unannounced to your abode. But this is as important as all of the tribe life, because it is a threat to the tribe."
Quil raised his hand faster than they expected he could and stopped Sam from speaking, "Hear us out," his raspy voice resounded through the house, which was now silent and you could not hear a single bug or animal make a sound, Quil III put his hand down and put it above his cane, "what Bella said is true. And we will start with the happy news first before we start with the threat."
Quil III let them process what he just said before continuing, "I found a way to heal your scar."
"WHAT!" All three shouted in shock. Bella didn't know about it, so, yeah, but she is happy for both Emily and Sam,they wouldn't have to suffer from the reminder of Sam's mistake, mostly Sam, because he still blamed himself about it. Sam was ecstatic about it, but he was confused as well, and doubts was also there, was it possible? Emily was stunned in place, she was happy with the news, but comprehending it was another thing completely.
"Yes, i found a way. I kept on looking for it and finally found one on an old text book left by my ancestors a few centuries ago. I had made it and it was done this morning."
"wow" was the most expressive thing Bella could say in that situation. But then realization came over her, "That text book you're talking about, you don't mean the 'herbs and poison' titled book i gave to you from the shelf?"
Quil III gave her a smile, "it is exactly that one."
Bella clamp shut her mouth. She did read a few pages, but she didn't understand about it, so she gave it to Quil III to analyze himself and asked him occasionally about the book, see if it had a good information for her to wrote down on her record book of the Quileute.
"Here is the potion," Quil III put down the bright golden liquid vial in the middle of the coffee table. They all stared at it for awhile before Sam reach out to it and take it in his hold softly, trying to not break the vial, treating it like a fragile piece of glass. "Yes, careful with it, i only had three of those including that one. It was easy to make, but the ingredients are the problems, it's so rare that i need a month and a half to make it." Sam nodded at him.
"And to use it, you need to pour it down on the scar then slowly spread it evenly on the scar, it will do its magic after that." Sam turn to Emily, who understands him from reading his eyes and emotion that she felt from the imprint magic.
Emily went and lay down on the carpet in front of the TV, Sam kneeled beside her body. She closes her eyes as Sam starts to pour the potion on her scar from the end on her head and spread it as slow and careful as he could with his rough hands. Once the process was done after two minutes, they watched the potion does it magic and the scar disappeared from her form with fascination.
It took the potion around 5 minutes and Emily was free of those three angry scars. Sam quickly, and surprising Emily in the act, grab her and warp her up in his big arms. Once Emily realized that her scar was really gone, tears streamed down her cheeks. They were in each other embraces until they remembered the other humans in the room.
"You're so pretty Emily, even with those scars, don't hide anymore, okay?" Bella smiled at Emily, who returned her smile with her own bright smile. "And congratulations, too, of course." Emily giggles when Bella gave her a sheepish smile this time.
Sam nodded at Quil III, "thank you for the potion miracle, Shaman. I couldn't thank you enough right now, you don't know how much this meant to me."
"And me, as well." Emily added.
"It's my duty, Alpha. But you're welcome," Quil III accepted the gratitude, knowing well that it did meant a lot to the Alpha and his imprint. "But you also need to thank young Swan here," he motioned his hand at Bella, who tensed up at him pointing out her small involvement. "She was the one who found the book and delivered it to me."
Emily didn't hesitate doing so, "thank you so much, Bella."
"Oh!" Bella chuckled nervously, "i did nothing. I was just doing my job, I'm still new actually."
Sam, however, hesitated, he knew her history with the enemies, so he was still cautious with her around. But Emily nudged him, so he did anyway, "It's not 'nothing', Miss Swan. You were the one who found and gave the text of the potion that heal my imprint, so it's not 'nothing', it's a lot of things and one of those are our gratitudes." But he did admit that Bella did a lot, he won't let her past get in the way of the fact that she did found the text that had the recipe to heal his imprint, Sam was not that low to just see one side of a coin when he knows that there are another side that could be worth looking at.
Bella blushes at his words, she was very flattered by his words and Emily's too. She nodded, accepting their thank-yous, she knew them well enough to know that they don't give up until you gave in. They were such a couple that Bella always admire their synchronization in their relationship, like everything are normal and nothing were weird that they know each other so well, as if they knew each other for years.
Quil III nodding off at their action, but then knowck his cane on the wooden floor three times, getting their attention again.
"Now we're done with the good news, i think it's time." his eyes trained at Bella, who took a deep breath.
She was clearly not ready under the two couple's gazes to tell them the bad news of their visits to Emily's abode.

Fontina Ori-chan: i didn't reread this, too lazy. Beside that, i hope y'all like it. Just review things that i missed and grammarly incorrect. And on (11/14) i had some sort of olympiad, a language olympiad, which was today if you read it right after i post this. Anyway, please pray to the god in whatever it was your religions for me to win(though i don't want to, cause i had astronomy to worry about, too)
