Chapter 9: important to tell

--

Embry had thought what happened was just a dream. But when he heard a growl and a pleasant feeling at whatever was in his arms being there, he figured out that it wasn't a dream.

He stare at Bella, not actually staring, but he was zoning out.

He was happy that Bella was his... uhh, soul mate. He really did got a crush on her ever since... forever.

Embry remembered the day they first met. It was at the Black's. She was seven and he was six.

His mother was out somewhere and had Sarah Black take care of him. When he walked in the house, he heard his best friend, Jake and another voice that belonged to a girl talking excitedly, then his gaze was set on the girl who were sitting on the carpet holding a small cactus in a pot. Her hair was only shoulder long, her skin were fairer than any girl he had ever seen, which was Sarah, his mom, Sue, Joy, Leah, the Black twins, and some other from around the village he passed by. Her eyes were big chocolate eyes that he thought about a chocolate.

He didn't know back then, but he had a crush on her ever since.

"Em?" He snapped out of his thoughts and look at Bella, who were still half asleep but smiling at him. "Are you okay?"

Embry smiled, "Yeah" he burried his face in her crown and inhaled her scent. He was still getting used to it, but the sniffing was kinda natural when it came to Bella.

She giggled and snuggled in his embrace more, "How are you handling it now?"

He sighed, "I think i can somehow accept it. You're here with me helped more than you know... Thank you, Bella." He saw her smile to him and could feel her relief and anxiety, he frowned, "Is there something wrong, Bells?"

Bella shaked her head, "No, nothing. It's... Just something's that i want you to know." Embry could feel her fear and anxiety and there were guilt.

"It's fine if you don't tell me about it now, i can wait." He hesitated for a second before kissing her forehead, and it feels natural. Everything with Bella was natural to him. Even cuddling with her drapped on top of him was natural.

And he heard a purring sound in the back of his mind, well, the middle since it was too clear to be at the back.

Bella smiled at him, "I will, just... Not in the morning." She was sheepish when she said it.

Embry snorted, "You're right, not in the morning." She gave him a kiss on his cheek and sat up. Embry was frozen in place and snapped out of it when she got off the bed.

Bella gave him a small smile, "Well, warrior, let's get breakfast. I'll tell you after we all got our energies for more information." And he was flustered, alright. Bella was hanging out with the Pack so much before he was in it, and it makes showing affections were no longer something she tried to hold back.

They goes down stairs and meet with the house owners, Emily and Sam. Sam was warping his arms around Emily while Emily was cooking, laughing at something he said. And that made the two of them stand by the dinner table, Embry awkwardly, Bella amused.

Bella was linking her arms on Embry, not exactly wanting to part touching with him, and neither does Embry. So, they had nothing to say about the Alpha couple. Well, Alpha and the Pack Mom. Same thing. Anyway, they didn't say anything for five minutes before Emily finally noticed their presence at the table.

"Bella, Embry! Good morning you two, how's your sleep? Is it alright?" She beamed at them, Sam gave them a smirk and a wiggling eyebrows, he was feeling light headed, Bella noted. Sam was usually putting on his serious Alpha look, but when he was light headed, he was a much more loose guy. And also a plus, he was in a good mood, too.

Bella beamed back to Emily, "Fine! Embry's such a space heater, too." And they share a giggle. Embry was still standing awkwardly, but he was smiling, happy that she was happy. "Finally i have my own, borrowing Paul was such a pain, he was too loud!" And that make the Imprintee laugh together.

Then they started to help around the kitchen. Embry was taking the plates from the cabinets and Bella was the one who set it on the table. Emily was cooking something else that wasn't bacon and egg, Embry doesn't know what it was, but the smell was making him drool.

Breakfast was a fast event. Soon enough, Bella and Embry found themselves sitting on a beanbag that Sam and the pack made at the back of Sam's and Emily's house. They were enjoying themselves, when Bella looked up at the sky and remembered that there was still something she needed to tell Embry.

She thought first at how to approach the topic, when Embry did it himself. "You want to talk?"

Bella smiled softly at him, even though he couldn't see it himself, "yeah, do you think you're ready for more headaches?"

Embry kissed her crown, "no, but I'll never be. So it's best now that you do it."

She hummed, leaning back into him, they were cuddling after all.

"I've lived a life time before this." She chooses it to be the best start at strating the conversation.

She feel him stiffen before his body relaxed, "What do you mean?"

"I time travelled to the past, i came from the future and it... was not as pretty as i thought it would be." She then told him her story, the part of her life where they didn't happen. When she was far too gone in the thrall of the cold ones. Where their lives were so awful. Where she died because her in-laws didn't want her daughter. When she woke up back in her old bedroom in Forks a few days after Sam found her. When she was choosen as the tribe's documenter.

She cried at the end of everything, and Embry was testing his newly gained power at holding back the wolf from coming out too close to their imprint, remembering Sam's memories of him hurting Emily, he didn't want that to happen to Bella. He tried to comfort his imprint and held the wolf back, he was already shaking so much.

Through her messy sniffling, Bella noticed this and backed away from him. She motioned for him to phase, and that's exactly what he did.

Embry tore the short he wore and where he stood was a wolf, whose eyes look at her with so mich pain. Bella didn't hesitate or waste time to launch herself to him. She hugged his furred neck and cried a little more that was left of her tears. Wolf-Embry whimpered and snuggled on her, he ignored the thoughts of his new pack-mates and sat down with her on the backyard of his Alpha.

They stayed like that for sometimes that Bella drifted off to sleep, and Embry phased back to human once he was calm enough to do so. He lift Bella in his arms and keep her close to him. He didn't want her to go, the thought both pained him and angered him. He won't let her go, not like how he did in that 'timeline'.

When Embry got inside from the backdoor, he passed Sam, who nodded in understanding, then goes up stairs to the room they had borrowed.

Embry was naked, but right then, he couldn't careless about it. He didn't bother to find a short as he lay Bella down on the bed that they had slept the night before. He set himself to lay beside her, warping his arms around her possessively. He covered them both with a blanket Emily had gave them the night before, too.

Soon enough, he drifted off to sleep with himself drapped over Bella.

--

When they were back into the living world, thr imprinted couple lay in bed for a little over an hour before Bella was too stiff and decided to get up. Besides, she had things to do, and Embry needs some patrolling lessons from Sam.

Bella was now sat down in the kitchen with Emily and Kim, everything was silence. None of them talked and they just let the comfortable silence to wash over them.

Before Kim broke it up.

"So, a new wolf in the pack?" Dhe directed it at Emily knowing Bella was a little bit still. in her own world. Kim took a sip of Emily's special herbal tea.

"Yep, it's Embry Call." COUGH-! Kim spit out the tea in surprise and coughed.

"How?! He's not Quileute!"

"That's the thing," Bella was the one to answer this time, "It was his mom that was Makah, his dad? Unknown~. It's possible that it was his dad that was Quileute. Besides, the gene work with age, oldest first, then it go down to the youngest."

Kim and Emily stare at her, before Kim sighed, "I almost forget the fact that you know about the future. So, whose the youngest?"

Bella made an 'mmm'ed sound before answering, "Last i heard it was Brady and Collin."

Emily gasped, "But they're 12!"

"Exactly," Bella let out a frustrated sound, then she took a large sip of her hot lemon tea.

"So... it came to that point?"

"Yes, the most potent blood, sorry, not the oldest to youngest, was those who phased first in the pack. Which meant that Sam had most of the gene to phase first, but i think that one came with his age. But we can talk about Embry phasing before Jacob. It could only mean that Embry's gene was a bit more active than Jake, whose both parents were Quileute. I mean, Embry and Sam was supposed to be related.." She was rambling again. And the other imprintees listened to her intently explaining the fate of the future pack members.

That was how the guys found them gossiping about the tribe in the kitchen table with snack in front of them.
