A Dog's Purpose Is Strange Magic 3 Chapter 4

Outside of Hogwarts, this is the happiest week Harry and Bailey have ever experienced.

Bailey supposes it is 2nd only to the previous summer when they spent the rest of their time at the Weasley Burrow in safe harbor.

Completely Dursley free which makes it a dream come true and the new normal in this summer timeframe.

A better opportunity to have full control of his life.

Overall, here solitude has proven to be a blessing in disguise with the benefits being exponential. Although too much of it can be misplaced in the oddest scenarios.

Harry took advantage of the gift bestowed onto him and did whatever he pleased within Diagon Alley's boundaries while keeping his word to Fudge and not breaking the carefully placed restrictions on his stay.

Harry ate breakfast each morning in the Leaky Cauldron with Bailey where they enjoyed watching the other guests constantly coming in and out whether they were staying at the pub, having a passing drink and meal, or going or leaving Diagon Alley. The sheer variety of different people amazed Bailey on a regular basis. Normally they're not in Diagon Alley or the Leaky Cauldron for more than a couple of hours and don't get a proper look at all the different kinds. Funny little witches from the country up for a day's shopping, venerable looking wizards, a party of wild looking warlocks, raucous dwarfs, and someone Harry suspects might be a hag if the raw liver she ordered was any indication.

The last one had Bailey position herself curved around the front of the table at the booth she and Harry were at to act as a possible deterrent. She didn't like the look of that lady.

After breakfast, Harry and Bailey would go out into the minuscule backyard and tape the passcode pattern on the bricks. The archway would then open into Diagon Alley to their shared delight.

Harry and Bailey would then spend the long sunny days exploring and maneuvering through the shops and window wishing to his heart's content. With his money pouch full from his vault at Gringotts, Harry had to seriously be mindful of what he spent it on. He kept reminding himself to push aside temptation and only buy the vital school items he really needed instead of wasting it on items that would really make a dent in his account.

Necessities only.

Bailey's not kidding about this. She literally must tug him backward by the back of his belt when he sees the newest broom model inside his favorite shop, Quality Quidditch Supplies. The newest broom is called the Firebolt. Bailey swears she could see stars explode from behind Harry's glasses.

A couple of people in the crowd laughed as they watched Bailey thoroughly rebuke her boy. Out of pity kind bystander used a repair spell on the backseat of his pants she accidentally ripped. Thus leaving a grinning Bailey and an abashed Harry blushing in embarrassment by the spectacle that out of the both of them, the dog is proven to be the responsible one.

The exceptions came when he and Bailey were trying out the cuisines at the restaurants and cafes he could afford. Bailey would eat the leftovers whenever he became too full or if he took a bite out of something that he didn't quite like the taste of. A real smorgasbord for Bailey's happy stomach.

The cream of the crop was Florean Fortescues Ice Cream Parlor near the dead center of Diagon Alley neighboring Ollivanders. Here is the place Harry chose to do his remaining homework assignments and not under the blankets of a flickering flashlight anymore. The proprietor was extremely friendly and very helpful. Apart from giving Harry free sundaes to munch on every half hour he knew a lot about medieval witch burnings and was more than happy to inform Harry of every fact he knew on the subject. Florean even surprised Bailey by giving her animal friendly ice cream with toppings that wouldn't result in her getting sick.

Florean Fortescue instantly became one of her favorite people and a must for every visit to Diagon Alley they ever have even when her boy is out of Hogwarts. If Harry isn't in the mood at the time, then she'll drag him there by a sleeve herself.

Inside Flourish and Blotts they get a nasty surprise.

Not the Monster Book of Monsters contained inside carefully reinforced cages that the owner looked like he could've cried out a Hallelujah song if he could in gratitude. Apparently, the book has injured him more times than he can count in the last few days alone for people needing them for the school year and he's vowed never to stock them again. Bailey doubts that. As a store owner, he needs to stock the items people want and need or else others will go elsewhere for their materials.

Wouldn't shock Bailey too much if the man eventually loses a limb.

While Harry is preoccupied with getting the remainder of his schoolbooks from the shopkeeper Bailey wanders around still in sight of her boy. As she is doing so Bailey occasionally stands on her hind legs with front paws on top of some tables in order to investigate the merchandise.

A book on display causes her to release an unnerved yip.

Snapping his head in her direction, Harry said "Bailey?"

But Bailey is frozen staring at the image on the cover of a book called Death Omens: What to Do When You Know the Worst is Coming.

Picking up the book to see what's gotten her reacting so distressed Harry freezes, eyes wide.

"Oh, I wouldn't read that if I were you," said the manager lightly, looking to see what Harry was staring at. "You'll start seeing death omens everywhere. It's enough to frighten anyone to death."

But Harry continued to stare at the front cover of the book. Clear as day it showed a black dog as large as a bear with gleaming eyes.

While the size is debated this picture looks an awful lot like what they saw before the Knight Bus picked them up.

A little too much on the mark.

Wanting to get out of there as fast as possible Harry tells the manager the other books, he needs to purchase. Around ten minutes late they make their way back to the Leaky Cauldron. Harry's mind is so distracted and unfocused that it would've had the mishap of bumping into several people if Bailey hadn't redirected in time.

Harry tramped up the stairs to his room, went inside, and tipped his books onto his bed. The windows are open and the sun is pouring inside which explains why Hedwig isn't present. Probably out stretching her wings and interacting with the other owls nearby.

Leaning over the basin and looking at his reflection defiantly, attempting to make his hair lie flat with a shaky hand, Harry said "It can't have been an omen. I was panicking when I saw that thing in Magnolia Crescent…It was probably just a stray dog…"

Him and Bailey both hope so.

Authors Note:

For the reader that has been constantly harassing me I have warned you to be civil. Changing the guest name makes no difference. I still know it is you. From now, on any messages you send me will not be read or considered at all. The only way they will is if you use your actual username on this website. Otherwise none of it will be even looked at.

For those of you on fanfiction I'm sure you've been facing the many unwanted ads when you're reading a story. Well, yesterday, I finally had enough, and I got an adblocker app. It worked! No more ads on any level! The one I got is Adblock Pro: Safari Ad Blocker. It really works. Just follow the instruction video that it attached to it.

Heads up everyone there's someone on fanfiction you need to seriously watch out for. Early a couple of months ago after I woke up I was checking my email and I saw I had a new guest review on my A Dog's Purpose Is Strange Magic 2 sequel. I took a look at it and got a very big shock. Some random person I've never spoken to before on here or anywhere else in my life was basically threatening me. Intimidating and practically ordering me to write a threatening letter to someone on their behalf, telling to stay off of for life or else they and everyone else close to them would be killed, disgustingly telling them to kill themselves. And at the bottom of the message this crazy person wasn't done. Warning me that if I don't send the letter then they would kill me and for confirmation to email them to make absolutely sure I complied with their demands. Of course I did nothing of the sort. Instead of doing what they wanted I reported them to the website, sent copies of this deplorable guest review message to police officer cousins of mine so they could have it on file, and I went to a nearby police station and reported it.

When I spoke to the police officers and they checked everything on the message they saw, that while the address and names of business were accurate the people and their names were not. They agree it was more than likely a scam because of the email address on the bottom in order to perhaps get access to personal information or potentially hack my computer. Despite that I'm still very happy they took it seriously as I showed and told them everything. All the same I'm still very happy that I brought this to the attention of law enforcement. Even though the entire thing might be fake I'm still very happy to have brought this to the attention of those who can do something about it if it was legit in some way. This may have been a scam, but it's obvious these people are beyond irresponsible if they try to goad people into sending death threats to random strangers just to get access to info.

Be that as it may if this does unfortunately happen to you do not send any messages to the email addresses they put down and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you bring the message to the authorities immediately whether it is legit or not.

Because it's a guest review it might not be visible for a couple of days as it loads if it is sent to you. But when it does you should definitely pressing the report abuse button and send it to the email that leads to the support staff that is available.

Just a heads up to those of you who aren't aware of this yet, Email alerts for this website are now only active if Email opts is enabled in account settings.

I hope you all like this one! I certainly did while writing it for your vast enjoyment! ;D

For those of you just starting out with my stuff there are other works on my profile that may catch your interest. I highly recommend you take a look as soon as the opportunity presents itself to you. Who knows, you may be pleasantly surprised by what you discover.

Stay safe everyone. Especially with all of these crazy natural disasters occurring a lot lately due to global warming and climate change everywhere for sure. I swear it's like they're getting worse and worse all the time and it's like officials are simply just ignoring it or pretending it doesn't exist entirely just to go on with their daily lives. Especially those in multi-million dollar companies that rely on certain elements of our planet that we rely on to naturally keep us safe instead of adapting and finding new safer ways to keep in business. There are so many options out there where they can adapt, but they just refuse to see it because all they care about is money. Climate change is altering so much faster than anyone can really keep track of.

So, in light of all this, it is important to live life to the fullest as much as anyone can.

I know I am. ;) See you guys next time.
