LAST REAPING! OH I'M SO EXCITED!

Next after this Reaping chapter will be train rides... More abnormality there!

Aurora Austriallis, Capitolite

OH, I am so thrilled! I want to start writing about the Tribute Parade, so I won't even bother to make this entry as detailed as the rest. I'll just skip to the Reaping itself!

Mataya Venegas, the Escort for District 10, dressed completely in dark blue denim, walked quickly to the Reaping... bridge. It was a red suspension bridge again, same as Districts 2, 3, and 9, and I could see her hand fishing around for a slip through the glass. Suddenly, Mataya's hand froze, fingers curled around a name. She drew it out slowly, scattering slips around the base of the bridge and the ground. Turning to the microphone, she read "Annetta Sander!" slowly and clearly.

A tall, stocky girl with dark brown shoulder-length hair and hazel eyes stormed out of the crowd. She stalked up to the stage, and her bloodstained overalls caught my eye. She must have just come from either the slaughterhouse or the butcher's shop, otherwise she probably would have been dressed nicely- she had that look of regality about her.

When she reached the microphone (in record time, I might add), Mataya stared at her in shock. "H-how old are you, Annetta?" she asked, stuttering. I think she was a bit phased out from the sight of blood all over Annetta's pantlegs!

"I'm eighteen," Annetta replied fiercely.

Mataya, satisfied, turned to the boy's bridge. When she had selected a name, she turned again to the microphone. "Johny Harper!"

A boy with chestnut hair sauntered out of the corner of the Square. His green eyes pierced through the cameras, and his crisp black suit, though about an inch too short for his long, lithe frame, matched his shiny black hair almost perfectly. I was quite shocked to notice that his features and skin tone were that of an Asian, and his facial structure was almost identical to that of my Avox, but his eyes were green. Normally, someone of that ethnicity has black eyes (at least, that's my experience).

Johny too made it to the stage in record time, especially for someone who came from the opposite corner of the Square. Mataya turned to him and asked "You are how old?" in a somewhat shell-shocked tone. I believe she was still recovering from Annetta's bloody pants!

"I, too, am eighteen," he responded calmly.

Again, Mataya was satisfied. She turned back to the microphone.

"Your tributes!" she shouted into the device, as the tributes shook hands. Turning, they disappeared into the Justice Building.

That is District 10 for you! Hope you all stay tuned for the next chapter, and please tell me what you think of the characters so far!
