Sorry I took so long to update. College classes finished, so I didn't have an excuse to be on the computer. Then I got assigned computer work, so I was allowed on the computer again, but the holidays popped up...
Yeah. Pretty sure everyone knows what the Holidays mean to someone's schedule.
Sundance Ticia, 17 - District 9
Sunny stared at the picture of President Vetrios that was hanging on the wall. Even though Sunny hated the President, it was something to take her mind off of her sister. Her sister... Sundance would never forget the sheer terror in River's eyes, nor the pain as the stunning rod hit her shoulders.
Maybe if she won the Games, the Capitol wouldn't do anything to River or Rain, Sundance's mom. Maybe if she played the Game right, nothing would happen to the people she loved. Maybe...
Coren Joss, 16 - District 11
Coren paced the area in front of the TV nervously. He was waiting for Cinnamon, who had promised that she would be in the main car to watch the Reapings recap at three o'clock exactly. It was now three - eleven.
Coren stared at the clock. It was WAY past time for Cinnamon to be here. Sighing, Coren walked out of the main car and into the hallways to search for Cinnamon and the Escort.
Taffeta Royden, 17, and Blake Stonem, 17, - District 1
"So, Velvet, what's our strategy?" Taffeta asked. Blake looked up from his plate piled high with macaroni and cheese. "Yes, Velvet. What precisely will we be doing in the Arena?"
Velvet stared at them coldly. "First, we'll start with finding out who your opponents are. That means we will be watching the Reapings Recap. Here's a pencil and paper pad - I EXPECT you to take notes."
The two tributes and one mentor walked to the TV and couches. Velvet snapped on the television, then settled back into the cushions. Blake and Taffeta curled up on opposite ends of the couch and held their pencils at the ready. Soon the Recap was playing, and the tributes were diligently taking notes.
Eventually the Recap was over. Taffeta and Blake compared notes, then looked at Velvet. She stared back at them. "So, what'd you get?" Velvet asked.
Blake cleared his throat. "The boy from eleven looks like someone dangerous. We can either use him, or make him one of our main targets. The Careers look pretty good, so we aren't likely to need to include any outsider tributes. The main threat I saw was..."
Blake droned on and on, with Taffeta joining in on some tributes. Velvet listened attentively, but her mind began to wander to other things...
Jack Roader, 15, and Allela Bucker, 12 - District 7
Jack glared at the Escort ferociously. "You can't expect me to do whatever you tell me to do," he bellowed beligerantly. "I am the son of the Mayor of District 7! I hold great power over the people of our District! Surely you cannot expect me to do what you tell me like some poor scum!"
The Escort drowned him out and stared at her glass of wine. Maybe she would simply get drunk and forget the annoying male tribute. Or maybe she'd call the Avox security on him...
Allela stared at Jack. She had never been able to stand him, and now was no exception. Standing up quietly, she crept up behind him and pinched the back of his neck. If she did it right, Jack would pass out because of the pain. He wasn't used to corporal punishment, so he'd probably have no pain tolerance whatsoever.
Allela had judged correctly. Jack was screaming, then collapsing on the floor in a dead faint. Amber, the Escort, looked at Allela with intrigue. "Come here, darling," she called. "What else can you do?"
Niklass Hadeshan, 14 - District 5
Nic stared at his closet in dismay. There was nothing festive enough in it, and he had to treat this... setback in his ultimate life plans as simply another performance. That was, after all, the main point of this whole escapade, wasn't it? To give the Capitolites a good performance? "Thus," decided Nic, "I must give them the performance that they so desire!"
Mistle Lou, 17 - District 4
Mistle stared at Noralinda, the Escort, with disbelief. Noralinda had just suggested that she, Mistle Lou, and Axl Floyd play the "in-love" angle for the Games and their Interviews. "Could you be more insane?" Mistle Lou scoffed. "There is no way in the world that I would EVER date that... that scumbag player. And in normal life, I wouldn't even have a chance with him! So no, I REFUSE to act as though we are a couple."
Noralinda sighed. "If you insist..."
Tanner Craven, 18 - District 8
Tanner chuckled to himself as he stared at the young girl who was his district partner. She would be so easy to manipulate... to form to his own needs and wants. She could actually be useful in the Games, if she survived the Bloodbath. He just had to make her see that she was useless without him, and her main purpose in life was now to serve his every whim and want...
Marian Hallchanser, 17 - District 12
Marian stared silently across her room. She was sitting on the luscious bed, contemplating the sudden turn of events in her life. This was probably the best thing that could have happened to her, and Harrison. There was no way either of them could have survived for very long in District 12, especially considering the fact that they were deaf and mute, respectively.
Now instead of starving, they had all the food they wanted, not to mention a warm bed and a roof over their heads. Once they got to the Capitol, they'd have more food and better clothes. The only problem was the Hunger Games themselves...
Marian had no doubts that both District 12 Tributes would likely be Bloodbath fodder this year. Neither of them could really do anything, so there was little chance of survival. Marian sighed. She had accepted her fate.
Harley Chang, 17 - District 6
Harley growled at the Avox. "Where can I find morphling?" he snarled. The Avox shivered in fear and led Lee to a bathroom. Inside the medicine cabinet, Harley "Lee" Chang found a box full of disposable morphling syringes, pre-filled with the potentially deadly - as well as highly addictive - medical concoction.
Harley smiled at the Avox. "Thanks, that's all," he said in a gentle tone. Once the Avox had backed away nervously, Harley turned to the box in his hands and ripped it open almost savagely. He tore a syringe out of the sterile package and shoved it into his arm, sighing in relief as he pressed the plunger down. "Now that's better," he sighed in relief.
Annetta Sander, 18 - District 10
Annetta twirled the knife in her hands and slammed it into the ham sitting on the table that was heavily laid with food. She began cutting at the meat ferociously - it appeared as though she was trying to tear the ham to shreads.
Finally, the ham had been destroyed. Annetta turned away and sobbed. It hadn't even been two hours, and she already missed home.
Sorry again about the LONG update gap. After this I'll probably update the Quarter Quell.
