Chapter 10: Family Drama
Skit 1: Men of a Feather
Khazhak is sitting in one of the classrooms at Beacon, with Taiyang Xiao Long sitting across from him.
"So let me get this straight. You're Raven's apprentice, but she only ever appears when she wants to fight you, train you, or give you advice," Taiyang goes over the list.
"Yeah, that's pretty much it," Khazhak replies nonchalant.
"Well... does she ever talk to you about anything besides fighting?" Taiyang clasps his hands together.
Khazhak raises an eyebrow, "Like what?"
"Like does she ever talk about me? Has she ever said anything weird about me? Does she miss me? Has she ever thought about coming back to visit and see me?" Taiyang bounces out of his seat.
Khazhak thinks back, "Well... she never really said anything about coming back or missing you, but... she did say a few things about you," he remembers.
Taiyang is halfway across the desk by now, "Really?! Like what? What did she say about me?"
Khazhak leans away from him, "Okay, first, back off. Personal boundaries please," Taiyang sits back down. "Secondly, I remember her talking about the time you first hit on her... which was also the first time she hit you in the face, locked you into one of those rocket-propelled lockers, and blasted you away," he deadpans.
"She was just shy. Besides, I didn't land too far from the school," Taiyang waves it off.
"She set the coordinates to the center of Forever Fall Forest and right into the heart of a next of Grimm," Khazhak replies flatly.
Taiyang rubs his head, "Heh-heh-heh, okay, so that happened, but that couldn't have been the only thing she said about me,"
"Well, she did mention that you gave her flowers at one point, only for her to shred them with her sword and kick you in the balls. One time she talked about how you asked her to the school dance, but she not only told you know, but used her emblance to hide from you with Qrow's help. Though, you did always managed to find her,"
"Hah, that's because Qrow would always secretly text me with his scroll about wherever Raven was hiding in return for me doing his homework for a week. She couldn't escape from me and my love," Taiyang notes, making Khazhak almost puke.
"Yeah, and once she found out about that, she itching powder in your sheets, all your clothes, and even mixed it in the shampoo you used in the shower," Khazhak notes.
Taiyang has a dreamy look on his face, "Ah, such good times,"
"How much of an idiot are you?" Khazhak mutters.
"But, despite all those challenges, all those times she tried to deny her true feelings for me, she still eventually gave in to my charms. I mean come on, we had a kid for Oum's sake. Doesn't that mean something," Taiyang argues.
"Maybe. But, it could also mean that you got her pregnant through less than romantic or even legal means. Then again, this is Raven we're talking about. If anyone was going to do something illegal, it would be her. Hell, I'm sure that breaking the school rules was a hobby for her, wasn't it," Khazhak retorts.
Again, Taiyang waves it off, "Okay, one: I didn't do anything illegal to her. Like you said, that was her thing. Two: You've met my daughters, who have never done anything wrong in their entire lives-,"
"Destroying a night club, vandalizing a Dust shop window, having a bare-knuckle brawl on the highway, bringing a pet onto school grounds, sneaking onto a training mission that they weren't cleared to take," Khazhak argues.
"Hey, you did some of that too," Taiyang points at him.
"Yeah, but that was for them. It's already too late for me. I don't give a crap about following the rules," Khazhak crosses his arms.
Taiyang hunches over and sighs, "You really are Raven's apprentice, aren't you?"
"Unfortunately," Khazhak sighs.
…
Vernal hears another sneeze from Raven's tent at their camp, "Mam, are you sure you're okay? You're really sneezing up a storm,"
"I'm fine! Whoever won't shut up about me; when I find them, I'll slice off their arms and legs and roll them down a hill like a turd in the wind," Raven mutters darkly before sneezing again.
Skit 2: I'm Walking Here
Lloyd, Edom, Ren, and Jaune are walking through Vale city for a little guys' day out.
"So, what's on the agenda for today guys? Check out the arcade? Do some fishing at the port? Check out a movie?" Jaune suggests.
"What are you, five? Come on, don't you remember what I said earlier. We are heading to the local library to get some books for Blake because I lost a bet with her, and now I have to go pick up her book orders for the next two weeks. She tried to get it for a whole month, but I managed to sneak out of that mess and just get two weeks instead," Lloyd explains.
"Okay, but if that's the case, then why are we here? Couldn't you take care of this by yourself?" Ren wonders.
"Because it would be boring if it was just me, and besides, I figured we could all get a few books ourselves. I here there are a few books on what women like in men, or how-to pick-up chicks and what not. I've been looking for some new material anyway. I mean, come on, do you have any idea how many cute girls are at Beacon right now, and most of them are single? It's a win-win. Blake gets what she wants, and we get what we want," Lloyd wipes his hands.
"Really, then maybe I could find something that'll help me get a date with Weiss!" Jaune gasps.
"Are you guys being serious right now?" Ren starts thinking this is a bad idea.
"If we are actually doing something so ridiculous, then we should probably a book on legal counsel or health insurance for when the girls either call the cops on you for harassment or for when they brutally murder you for hitting on them the wrong way. Just so you know, if that does end up being the case, I am not responsible, and I will not help you at all. You're on your own on that one," Edom deadpans.
"Hey, I'm not the guy that dresses up like it's Halloween every night. Besides... are we even old enough to get insurance?" Lloyd thinks about it.
"Lloyd, first, you know exactly why I wear this mask. It's not for decoration. And secondly, can you honestly tell me that, with your track record, you'd be able to get a girlfriend with some stupid stuff you read off a book?" Edom rolls his eyes behind his mask.
"Of course, I can. And what happened with the twins at the night club does not count. Listen, look at Weiss for example. High society types like her like to be dignified, you know. When they want something, they don't go down to the store to buy something they want themselves. They like to have someone like a middleman. Such as now, although it's for Blake, not Weiss. They like to have that kind of presence," Lloyd explains as they walk through a crosswalk at an intersection and almost get runover by a car driven by the shopkeep before it stops inches from them and honks his horn. "Hey, watch it old man, I'm walking here! I'm walking here!"
"Watch where you're going, you idiot kids!" the shopkeep yells back.
"Hey, you don't talk to me that way, you crazy old man. Get out of here!" Lloyd ends up picking the car up with his strength and tosses it further down the street, a loud crash heard down the street. "Eh, don't worry about that. Actually, that ain't a bad way to pick up insurance, you know," Lloyd goes on while the others stare at him wide-eyed as they move on.
Skit 3: Girls
Voshkie'ahk is sitting in Professor Goodwitch's office, with said professor sitting across from her. Voshkie'ahk is looking a little nervous.
"Thank you for coming today, Voshkie'ahk. I was hoping to speak with you about something,"
"Um, what is it, Professor Goodwitch? I didn't do something wrong did I?" Voshkie'ahk is worried.
Professor Goodwitch waves it off, "No, no, nothing like that. It's just I noticed that you have left the school grounds at least three times now without asking Ozpin for permission first. Now, you're a skilled warrior, so I'm not worried about you getting into trouble or someone trying to harm you. Honestly, I'd be more worried about any buffoons that would try to make a move on you. I simply want to know where you were going and what you were doing while in Vale."
Voshkie'ahk looks away, a slight blush on her cheeks," Do I... must I really tell you?"
Goodwitch nods her head, "It's okay, Voshkie'ahk. Just please tell me,"
Voshkie'ahk sighs and upturns her eyes at Goodwitch, "I've been... seeing someone in Vale while they're here," she admits, blushing a bit.
Goodwitch is a little surprised by this, "I... I admit, that wasn't the answer I was expecting. Though, then again, you are at that age, I suppose. I'm sure Professor Ozpin has at least some knowledge to this. If he's allowing it, then I'm sure it's okay. You haven't told this person about what you've been doing, have you?"
Voshkie'ahk shakes her head, "No, no. I haven't told her that I've been working for Professor Ozpin. She knows that I'm basically training as a huntress, and that Qrow is my Master, but that's about it,"
"I see, well as long as she doesn't... Wait, SHE?" Goodwitch asks.
Voshkie'ahk twiddles her fingers, "Yes, I'm seeing another girl. She's a little older than me, but she's been really nice and helpful to me in a lot of ways. I really like her," she smiles.
Goodwitch adjusts her glasses, "I... I see. Well, it certainly is surprising that you... prefer that route than the normal one,"
"Do you... have a problem with that?" Voshkie'ahk asks.
"No, it's no problem for me. Again, it just surprised me, that's all. So, may I ask for the name of the one you're so smitten with?" Goodwitch asks.
"Her name's Yukari Hakucho," Voshkie'ahk replies.
Once more, Goodwitch is surprised, "The fashion prodigy. The surprises never cease. How did you manage to catch the eyes of someone like her?"
"More like I caught hers. Wait, how do you know about her?" Voshkie'ahk is curious.
"While I may be a teacher and a huntress, young lady, I am still a woman. I've read her magazines. Now that I think about it, I do remember reading about her being in Vale for a little while on business. However, her fame could pose a problem," Goodwitch recollects.
"Don't worry, I've taken measures against that, and so has Yukari. When she wants to be with me, she sometimes likes to make sure that our time together is not interrupted by anyone. No one will know about what my secret mission," Voshkie'ahk explains.
Goodwitch sighs, "I see. That's reassuring. So, out of curiosity, what do you and Yukari do when out on your little excursions?"
Voshkie'ahk blushes big time at that, "That's private, Professor Goodwitch. Let's just say that Yukari can be very eccentric,"
And that's the chapter. A few more moments for the Chibi gang, some of which were provided from you guys thankfully. Keep those ideas coming if you evr have any. Until then, please Read and Review.
P.S. Try and guess the movie reference in Skit 2.
