Here we are at Chapter 18. Truth be told, I only plan on writing a few more chapters in this story before calling it complete. Soon enough, RWBY volume 9 will begin and I'll be too focused on my main stories to work on this one, among other things. Anyway, I do not own RWBY. They belong to roosterteeth. I only own my OCs. Here's chapter 18. Enjoy.

Chapter 18: Races and Fights

Skit 1: Fair and Square

Out n Vale, Teams RWBY and KEPL are walking along the sidewalk as Yang and Weiss appear to get into another argument.

"Look, you cheated last time, so I want a rematch!" Yang yells.

"There were no rules that stated we couldn't use our weapons or semblances in the face, so it was perfectly legal. You just never thought it through. Not my fault if you don't plan ahead," Weiss calmly retorts.

"A race is supposed to be a race, not the Vytal Festival tournament on wheels. I demand a rematch," and Yang won't let it go.

"What are they screaming about this time?" Porphyrius deadpans.

Ruby sighs, "The three of us had a race a while back using our bikes or other modes of transportation, but at the start of the race, Weiss used her sword to freeze us and our rides to the road while she rolled away... It took us a while to get ourselves free from the ice. We ended up causing a bit of a traffic jam, too,"

"Huh, I guess that explains why it took so long for my food order to get delivered that one time. My pizza ended up being cold by the time it arrived," Lloyd thinks back.

Meanwhile, Yang and Weiss get into a yelling match now, and Khazhak's patience is running thin.

"Alright, that's it! This is what we're going to do. You guys are going to have another race, and the same rules as before will apply here. No arguments about it, got it?!" Khazhak yells.

"But Khazhak, if it's just like last time, then-," Ruby begins.

"I said no arguments. Get your rides and get your butts back here on the double Now!" Khazhak points behind them, and the three girls high-tail it out of there.

"Um, won't this just cause a repeat of what happened last time?" Blake asks.

"Oh, don't worry, it won't go like last time. As they say, all's fair in love and war, and this is definitely war," Khazhak crosses his arms and smirks.

Later that day, Ruby, Yang, and Weiss return to the city with their modes of transportation: Zwei, Bumblebee, and Stardust. Everyone else is on the sidelines to watch the race.

"Alright, when I say go, go. First one to make it to the town square and back wins," Edom holds the flag up.

"This is going to be just like last time. I just know it," Yang groans.

"Ready... Get set... Go!" Edom waves the flag, and Weiss freezes Ruby and Yang to the road again.

"Argh! I knew it!" Yang and Ruby start trying to free themselves.

"Ha, you never learn, do you. Stardust, away!" Weiss starts moving her tricycle.

Suddenly, Porphyrius shoots his gravity orbs at Weiss' rapier and her tricycle, pinning them to the ground.

"What?!" Weiss yells.

Khazhak then uses his lightning semblance to free Yang and Ruby, "The road's all yours. Get going," Khazhak says.

"Haha, later Ice Queen!" Yang floors it, with Ruby and Zwei somewhat behind her.

"What, but that's not fair!" Weiss glares at Khazhak and Porphyrius.

"I said that this race would have the exact same rules as the last one, which means semblances and weapons are perfectly legal. They may not learn from their past mistakes, but I never make the same mistakes as them. There's no rule against it, Ice Queen. Have fun getting out of that," Khazhak starts to walk off with the others in tow.

"You think this will settle the matter with the race?" Lloyd asks.

"No, but it'll keep them from arguing so much for now, and it was more fun this way," Khazhak replies.

Weiss looks flabbergasted as she watches them leave before trying to break free from Porphyrius' gravity orbs. Yes, all's fair in love and warm, and this was a war that Weiss lost.

Skit 2: Musical Meeting

Winter is on her way to Team RWBY's room to meet with her sister. She heard from one of her teammate's that she's in their dorm room at the moment and did not want to miss the opportunity to get some sister bonding time going.

Winter reaches the door and knocks, "Weiss, it's Winter. One of your friends told me you'd be here, so I'm coming in," Winter opens the door to find her sister in the center of the room, practicing with a keyboard. "Weiss, what are you doing?"

"Oh, hello sister. Sorry, I was just practicing," Weiss says.

"Practicing the piano? I thought you were already musically talented enough with just your voice. I've seen some of your sold-out concerts," Winter questions her.

"Yes, but that's just with my voice. Azula may not quite have the signing voice that I have, but she is a prodigy with a piano. As irritating as it is to admit to that, though I will never say it to her face," Weiss notes without stopping her training.

"Is she really that good? I've never seen you so keen on beating someone in the musical arts," Winter raises an eyebrow.

"I will not be outdone, not in my studies, not in my training, and not in my musical abilities. I always aim for the top, and this is no different, but I won't underestimate her," Weiss replies.

Seeing her sister so gung-ho about this got Winter curious about this Azula girl. Is she really that good? After asking around a bit, she learned that Azula Skyfall is actually visiting Vale on business and is at the academy to meet with some friends. Moving through the academy halls, Winter eventually hears some faint music coming from the school courtyard and decides to scope it out. She eventually finds a small crowd in the courtyard, with the music getting louder. Moving through the crowd, she finds Azula playing the piano while the crowd watches almost like their hypnotized by her music.

"She's amazing," one female student says.

"Dude, she's hot, and her music makes all your worries go away. Is this a piece of heaven or what?" a male student asks his friend.

"Man, don't say that. If Lloyd Jyousai from Team KEPL heard you, then we'd never be able to find whatever's left of your corpse for at least twenty years. She's already taken," his friend reminds him.

Soon enough, the show ends and Azula bows to a crowd of clapping and cheering fans. Once the crowd had dispersed, Winer made her move.

"Excuse me," Azula turns as Winter approaches. "That was quite a performance. I can see why my sister is so keen on defeating you in the music arts,"

"Sister? Oh, you must be talking about Weiss Schnee, which makes you her older sister, Winter," Azula realizes who she is.

"Yes, Specialist Winter Schnee of the Atlas military. I met with my sister earlier, and she seemed quite determined to out-do you when it comes to playing the piano," Winter introduces herself.

Azula giggles, "Well, I'm not all that surprised by that. While I won't admit it to her face, Weiss is truly gifted when it comes to singing. However, there is more than just singing when it comes to music. When it comes to the piano, I won't be defeated by anyone,"

"I see. No wonder she sees you as a threat to her claiming the top of the music world," Winter notes.

"So, are you here to threaten me or sabotage me to help your sister?" Azula asks accusingly.

"No, this is my sister's battle, not mine. She has to learn how to fend for herself, evening in something like this. However, if you wouldn't mind, I would like to get a better read on your abilities. Would you be willing to play another piece for me?" Winter asks.

Azula looks pleasantly surprised by this request, "Well, far be it from me to deny someone wishing to hear my music. Sure, just a moment," Azula moves to get ready.

She plays a full piece for Winter, allowing the specialist to hear all she has to play. Once the performance was over, Winter left to give Azula some peace and quiet.

All the while, Winter is muttering, "Yeah, Weiss doesn't stand a chance at beating Azula at the piano. Oh well, at least she still has her singing."

Skit 3: Polar Opposites

In Professor Goodwitch's class, the students are engaging in some more sparring classes as part of their training. Some of the sparring matches that have already occurred were pretty close, others were more one-sided. And then there were a few that were just a little hard to watch. Such as the current match between Khazhak Rairyu from Team KEPL and Sky Lark from Team CRDL. Well, if you want to call Khazhak LITERALLY wiping the arena floor with Sky's face as a sparring match. Khazhak had already deprived Lark of his weapon and proceeded to have some fun with him. After he wiped his face across the whole arena, he then threw him into a wall and sent out a Lightning Slash technique to finish him off. The bell gets wrung as the screens how Khazhak, with his aura bar full, and Sky, with his aura bar empty.

"And that's the match. A strong display of skill and experience as always Mr. Rairyu... Though, was it truly necessary to wipe Mr. Lark's face across the arena floor during the match?" Goodwitch asks with a deadpanned look.

"What? I was helping to clean the arena a bit. Not my fault if every member of Team CRDL doesn't know how to fight. At least this way, they can actually be useful for once," Khazhak wipes his hands.

The rest of Sky's team look like they're about to enter the arena for some payback, but a quick glance at the murderous gazes from the rest of Team KEPL tells them to stay in their seats and keep their mouths shut. Khazhak grabs Sky by the back of his neck and throws him at his friends, knocking all of them to the back wall behind the stands.

Goodwitch sighs as she shakes her head, "Okay, well, I can't say I'm surprised by this anymore. Alright, we still have time for one more sparring match. This time we'll have... Pyrrha Nikos," Glynda begins, making Pyrrha stand with a smile. "...Against Lloyd Jyousai," and just like that, her smile disappears.

But, she's not the only one as Lloyd also looks worried by this sudden match up. A few minutes later, the two fighters are in the arena, their weapons out, but neither looking too confident at their chances in this fight.

"Alright, 3... 2... 1... Begin!" Glynda starts the match.

But... neither fighter moves a single inch, both showing scared looks on their faces.

"This is bad. I have a body made of metal and I'm wearing full-body armor. All she has to do is use her semblance and she can send me flying right into a wall and keep me stuck their while she finishes me off," Lloyd sweats at the mere thought.

"What should I do? Lloyd has more raw power than at Atlas paladin. One good punch from him will take out most of my aura, but a second punch could seriously break some of my ribs. I could dodge his strikes or lock them with my shield, but he could either rip it away with his claws, or simply shake the floor with his fee to shake me up and go in for the kill," Pyrrha also can't find an opening.

As the two remain frozen, Khazhak quickly loses his patience, "WILL YOU TWO QUIT STALLING AND FIGHT ALREADY?! I CAN'T STAND IT ANYMORE!" he shouts, spooking them. "I swear if you guys don't make some kind of attack in the next five seconds, I'll jump right down into that arena and personally beat the two of you senseless myself!"

Suffice it to say, Khazhak's little 'motivation speech' (if you want to call it that) drove the two fighters to go into action. Pyrrha ended up winning the match, but not by a large margin. Neither of them wanted to be on the receiving end of Khazhak's wrath. And Glynda Goodwitch had a couple more headaches to deal with for the rest of that afternoon. Oh well.

And that's the chapter. Only a few more chapters left before this story is done. But, there will still be some mor hijinks until that happens, so stay tuned. Until then, please Read and Review.
