CHAPTER 3:

Four days later, Tori and Cat walked into Karaoke Dokie and immediately felt the festive spirit of the Christmas party. The entire venue was decked out in red and green, with twinkling lights hanging from the ceiling and a giant Christmas tree in the corner, decorated in glamorous tinsel.

"Wow, this place is amazing!" Cat exclaimed, her eyes scanning her surroundings around in wonder.

"I know, right? And it looks like they've got karaoke set up too!" replied Tori, gesturing towards the stage in the center of the room.

"'Sup, peeps!" came Robbie's voice.

Tori and Cat turned around. "Robbie! Yay, you made it!" Cat said with a smile.

"Yeah, well, I had to get out of the house. Iif I listened to my grandma's childhood stories for one more minute, I think I would have exploded!" Robbie laughed.

"Ha, now that's something I would like to see," Rex retorted.

"There's the others!" Cat giggled. She waved to Andre, Beck and Jade, who were just walking in.

"Glad you guys could make it!" Tori spoke excitedly, looking at everyone but Jade.

Before long, the DJ announced that it was time for karaoke, and the crowd cheered.

"Cat, you ready?" Tori asked excitedly. Cat nodded in anticipation. They made their way to the stage and chose a Christmas Duet, "Baby, It's Cold Outside." The crowd erupted in applause as they started singing. Their voices harmonized beautifully, and they got lost in the music and the moment. When they finished, the crowd went wild, and Tori and Cat beamed with pride.

"You killed it!" Andre exclaimed, giving them both a high five.

"Thanks!" Cat laughed, taking in a deep breath. "We had a blast!"

"Jade?" Tori spoke in a more serious tone. "Anything you'd like to add?"

Jade looked up at her. "Well in particular chords, you were quite enjoyable," she said coldly.

"That's good enough for me." Cat giggled.

Tori glanced at Cat and sighed."Well, thank you?" she said dubiously as she took a seat at the bar counter.

"Hey, I thought Trina was going to join us?" Robbie asked, looking around.

"You did invite her, right?" Cat asked. Tori remained silent.

"You didn't invite her, did you?" Jade asked as a smile curled to her lips.

"I may have forgotten," Tori shrugged. "But," – she snapped at Jade – "purposely causing her an allergic reaction was crossing the line!"

Jade shrugged back, unconcerned.

"But she is getting better, right?" Cat asked, playing with a lock of her red hair.

"Yeah, her face should be fine," Tori said.

Just then, Jade's phone buzzed against the table. She picked it up, her face souring as she leered at the screen. She shut the screen off and shoved the phone back into her pocket with such force that her jacket nearly tore.

"Who was that?" Tori asked, sipping the drink that she had just ordered.

"Mind your business, Vega," Jade muttered mildly. She glanced at Beck and then at the crowd.

"Hey, Jade, you wanna sing the next song with me?" Cat asked excitedly again.

"I don't know," Jade muttered. She met Cat's pleading eyes and groaned. "Fine, let's go."

"Yay!" Cat said, and the two of them took the stage.

Afterwards, Cat updated her status on TheSlap which read: "Wait.. is that a mistletoe? - MOOD = Playful".
