Chapter 24—Fighting To Go Home, My Real Home
Bella's POV
The next morning, I decided to skip school and go to the meeting my father was talking about. We found out that it was going to be at Coach Bombay's office at Ducksworth, Saver and Gross.
"Bella are you sure about this?" Connie asked as I was putting on the last of my makeup.
"Yes, just tell them that I have a terrible headache, I am in bed, and I don't feel good," I said.
"What happens if you get caught?" Connie asked.
"Then I will deal with the consequences, this has to deal with my parents. I need to be in the meeting," I said.
"Alright, how long do you think that you will be gone?" Julie asked.
"Hopefully no more than a couple of hours," I said.
I had sneaked down the back steps and out the back door, I quickly got into my car and left.
I arrived at Ducksworth, Saver and Gross on South 4th street at 8:05 on the button. I decided to take the car to the parking garage and wait, I knew my mother and father would be here soon. Finally, at 8:30 I decided to walk over to the office of Ducksworth, Saver and Gross.
"Can I help you?" asked a secretary when I walked in.
"Uh, yeah. My father has an appointment with Mr. Bombay at 9:00, and I am here for the meeting," I said.
"Your father's name?" asked the secretary.
"Phillip Banks, I am Isabella Banks," I said.
"I see well Mr. Banks nor Mr. Bombay are here at the moment so if you would have a seat and when Mr. Bombay comes in. I will tell him that you are here, is he expecting you?" The secretary asked.
"Uh no, but my Father asked me to come," I said with a smile to my face, outright lying to the secretary.
"Ok would you like something to drink? Water, Coffee, Tea?" the secretary asked.
"No thanks," I said.
15 minutes later My father and mother walked in.
"Issy what are you doing here?" Dad asked.
"I came to see if I could help you get this mess figured out," I said.
"Shouldn't you be in school?" Mom asked.
"Yeah, but Dean Buckley knows, and he let me come," I said.
"Oh, well you must have gotten permission from Gordon or Michele to come," Dad said.
"Something like that," I said.
At 9:00 we were shown into the conference room and was told that Coach was 5 minutes away and will be here soon.
"You look so grown up Issy," Mom said to me in the conference room.
"That's because I practically am," I said smiling.
Coach, Michele and another lawyer walked into the conference room at 9:10.
"I do apologize Phillip and Seraphina about my tardiness, traffic was a might of a headache this morning," Coach said as he walked into the conference room.
"That is okay Mr. Bombay, I understand completely," Mom said.
"ISABELLA WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" Coach yelled and then his mouth dropped open.
"I thought that I could be of help to the negotiations Coach. After all I want to move out of your house," I said.
"I did not give you permission to leave campus this morning, did you?" Coach asked.
"Absolutely not, I was just as shocked as you were," Dad said.
"Neither did I," Seraphina said.
"Michele?" Coach asked.
"No. I can't believe that you would skip school, Isabella," Michele said.
"Bill if you will excuse us for a moment," Coach said to the other attorney that followed him into the room.
"Of course, take your time," Bill said.
Coach pressed a button on the conference table phone, "This is Caroline," said the secretary.
"Get me Dean Buckley, Eden Hall Academy on the phone, NOW!" Coach said.
I swallowed hard; I knew that I was in major SHIT. A minute later we heard, "Dean Buckley on line one," Caroline said.
"Thank you Caroline,' Coach said and then he pressed a button on the phone, 'Hello Dean, this is Gordon Bombay," Coach said.
"Gordon, what do I have the pleasure of speaking with you this morning?" Dean Buckley said.
"Do you know where Isabella is?" Coach asked.
"I assume in her dorm room. According to Ms. Monreau and Ms. Gaffney she was in bed with a terrible headache and fever," Dean Buckley said.
"Really?" Coach asked.
"Yes, why?" Dean Buckley asked.
"Because she is sitting right here in front of me," Coach said.
"Ms. Banks, is that true?" Dean Buckley asked.
"Yes," I squeaked.
"HMM, I see. You will report to my office upon your return to school," Dean Buckley said.
"Yes, Sir," I said.
"Thank you Dean, I am sure we will discuss this more later," Coach said.
"Of course, Good day, Mr. Bombay," Dean Buckley said and then he hung up the line.
"Keys," Michele said.
"FOR WHAT?" I yelled.
"BECAUSE YOU ARE SO GROUNDED YOUNG LADY," Michele said.
"I HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE HERE TODAY, I DON'T WANT TO LIVE WITH YOU AND COACH ANYMORE, I WANT TO MOVE BACK IN WITH MY REAL MOM AND DAD," I yelled.
"YEAH, WELL RIGHT NOW YOU ARE GOING BACK TO SCHOOL. WE WILL DISCUSS YOUR GROUNDING LATER," Coach yelled.
"NO, YOU ARE NOT MY DAD!" I yelled.
"NO BUT I AM YOUR COACH AND RIGHT NOW YOU ARE SUSPENDED!" Coach yelled.
So, What do you think? Please take 5 minutes and leave a review! Thanks in advance!
