Hello everybody. Sorry if this episode took so long to get published. I was occupied with work and other projects. Before we get on to story, I'm gonna answer some questions that some of you reviewers have been asking me. Willy, Ash will be more mature in Path to the Pokémon League. Damian may get more than a punch in the face when the toons are involved. Hikori, I'm glad you're looking forward to when Psyduck appears. I have plans for Psyduck in my story. I may consider having Arnold helping train Anthony's Hitmonchan. Still need to figure out when Arnolda shows up. And it won't be just Muk that becomes attracted to Fifi, but the Grimers too. And if they have mates and girlfriends already, they're bound to get clobbered like whenever somebody who's already dating goes goo goo eyes at Minerva Mink. Skalrag, I'll take your idea of Elmyra getting cursed by a vengeful Ninetales into consideration. I just need to figure out when it happens. Jdtperry, I actually have my own plans for the Celadon affair. Ash still gets banned from gym, but before Team Rocket could tempt him into letting them help him sneak in, the toons interveen and tell him not to make a deal with devils. The toons help disguise Ash, but he WON'T be in drag. But I can tell you this, the whole affair serves as a turning point for Pikachu's character and makes him realize that not siding with Ash will have dangerous consequences. And there were other victims of Erika's banning who come back to sue Erika. But one thing I'm taking into consideration, Erika actually didn't authrize the ban and that her assistants did it behind her back according to TV Tropes. So I might take the route of Erika getting flak for her staff's actions and she must find out what's going on. One thing I could use your suggestion for readers, I'm still trying to figure out when Ash and co. find Gogo Dodo. Cause it would have to been in an episode where there's lots of silliness since Gogo is from wackyland.

Episode 7: Showdown in Pewter City
Today, once again, the idiotic Team Rocket trio, Jessie, James and Meowth were up to no good once again. This time, they were digging up a hole, which was a pitfall trap. While they were digging, Jessie and James were saying their motto.
(Insert "Team Rocket Motto, Kanto-Johto Version" from Pokémon)
"To protect the world from devastation!" said Jessie.
"To unite all people within our nation!" said James.
"To denounce the evils of truth and love! To extend our reach to the stars above!" said Jessie & James.
"Jessie!" said Jessie.
"James!" said James.
"Meowth!" said Meowth, interrupting them.
(End Music)
"I don't get why you two are always talking and I'm stuck doing all the work!" complained Meowth.
"We haven't got much time! If the twerps and toons are headed for Pewter City, they'll have to pass this way," said Jessie.
"And they'll fall right into our trap," said James. Then, all three Team Rocket agents dug the hole a little deeper.
"Come on! Once we dig deep, we'll cover it so well, they'll never guess it's a trap," said Meowth. As they were digging, Sweetie Bird was watching them.
"Dose fools. Dat'll never work. It never worked for toons like Wile E. Coyote. What makes dem think it's gonna work for dem?" asked Sweetie. Team Rocket covered the hole with a wooden grid, then with leaves and finally, dirt.
"Ha! Perfect!" said Meowth. Suddenly, James gasped.
"I can't even tell where the trap is!" said James. Then, they began to look around.
"Wasn't it here?" asked Jessie.
"Is this it? Where did it go?" asked James.
"It must be over there," said Meowth. Then, they stood still for a moment, thinking. However, they stood in the wrong spot. For it was where their pitfall trap was at! The ground collapsed underneath the three stupid Team Rocket agents and they fell into their own hole! Team Rocket groaned in pain. Their humiliation didn't end there. Dirt fell on Team Rocket, burying them and covered the hole entirely. Sweetie laughed at the sight of what had just happened.
"Yep. They're definitely joining da ranks of da losers of Looney Tunes," sneered Sweetie. And she flew away, laughing rudely.
Continuing their quest to become the world's greatest Pokémon Trainers and find the rest of the missing toons, Ash, Mary and the toons traveling with them finally finds their way out of the Viridian Forest. Ash gasped in amazement when he saw Pewter City in the distance. No doubt some new and surprising challenges lie ahead for Ash, Pikachu, Fifi, Mary, Buster, Bookworm and Misty. "Yea! Pewter City!" said Misty. Ash sat down on a rock he was standing on.
"For a while, I thought we were gonna wander in those forest for the rest of our lives," said Ash. Pikachu sighed and sat down as well.
"Pewter City is gray, the color of stone. This town has always been famous for stone," said a voice nearby. It belonged to Flint, the one whom Shirley meet weeks ago. He was below the ledge with the rock that Ash and Pikachu were on.
"What the? Who is this old guy?" asked Ash. "Never met him," said Misty.
"The name's Flint. And you're sitting on some of my merchandise, young man," said Flint.
"Oops. Sorry about that. You mean you sell rocks?" asked Ash. "More than just rocks. They're Pewter City souvenirs. Wanna buy some?" asked Flint.
"No thank you, sir. I was just on my way to Pewter City 'cause I'm a Pokémon trainer along with Mary here," said Ash. "And we're looking for our missing toon pals," said Buster. "Toons, you say? I met a toon," said Flint.
"Really? Who was it?" asked Mary.
"It was a loon with blond hair and had psychic powers," said Flint.
"Le gasp! Zat sounds like Shirley! Ees she still here een ze city?!" asked Fifi excitedly.
"She is. She's been studying about Pokémon ever since she got here," said Flint. Pikachu sighed.
"Well, your Pokémon sure looks worn out. Why don't you follow me? I'll show you to the Pokémon Center," said Flint. He got up and began to walk away.
"See, looks can be deceiving. He's a really nice guy," said Ash.
"Are you sure?" asked Misty.
"By the way, there will be a 2 charge for resting on my rocks," said Flint. Ash and his friends fell to the ground in surprise.
Very soon, the travelers arrived to the Pokémon Center. It looked different than the one in Viridian City, before it got destroyed. "Please revitalize my Pokémon," said Ash, handing Nurse Joy a tray that held the Pokéballs containing Pidgeotto, Butterfree, Rattata, Seedot and Shroomish. Pikachu sat on the tray as well.
"Mine too, please," said Mary. She had a tray too, which held the Pokéballs of her Bulbasaur, Butterfree, Beedrill, Sentret, Hoothoot and Budew.
"Sure, right away, Ash," said the Nurse Joy at the desk. This Nurse Joy had a blue cross on her hat.
"Nurse Joy?" asked Ash.
"Yes, I'm Nurse Joy," said Joy.
"But this isn't Viridian City, this is Pewter City," said Ash.
"The Joy in Viridian City is my little sister. I'm the older Joy. I've heard nice things about you, very nice," said Joy.
"Thank you," said Ash.
"Hi, Ash. It's been a while," said a familiar voice. It was Lana (a.k.a. Latias).
"Lana?" asked Ash.
"Yes. It's me. I'm here because I've taken interest in you after you managed to defeat Team Rocket and want to ensure you get through Kanto safely," said Lana. "Uh, thanks," said Ash. She turned to Pikachu.
"I hope you've been good with your Trainer," said Lana.
"He's still working on his loyalty skills. But my friends are trying to ensure he obeys me," said Ash.
"That's good," said Lana.
"Have you seen that poster?" asked Joy. Ash turned toward a wall behind him and saw the poster. It read "Pokémon League: Regional Championships. Enter the Competition! Today's Pokémon Trainers are tomorrow's Pokémon Masters!"
"The Pokémon League Regional Championships! All right!" said Ash.
"What's special about zem?" asked Fifi.
"The Pokémon League Regional Championships is a tournament that Pokémon Trainers can enter," said Ash. "I've read about them. To compete in the regional championships, Ash and I need to beat Gym Trainers from different towns and get their badges as proof," said Mary.
"Can you do that?" asked Misty. "Of course we can!" said Ash and Mary. Then, the two trainers heard Flint chuckling.
"Don't tell me you two plan on challenging Brock, the Pewter City Gym Leader?" asked Flint.
"Of course we do," said Ash.
"Before I left on my journey, I read about most of the Gym Leaders. And I do know that Brock is a Rock-type user. To counter him, we need Grass, Water, Ground, Fighting or Steel-type Pokémon. Ash and I have Grass-types. So we'll have a chance," said Mary. Flint chuckled.
"You two rookies, good luck with that. Knowledge isn't everything," said Flint. And he went away chuckling.
Very soon, Ash and his friends were having lunch. "Ooh, that Flint, trying to make a fool out of me," asked Ash.
"He underestimates us, right?" asked Mary.
"Right," said Ash.
"Do you really think you can win? Gym leaders are different from your everyday Pokémon Trainer. They're much, much tougher," said Misty.
"We know. In fact, I read about them in books. I mean, since I didn't know a thing about Pokémon when I first came here, I wanted to learn everything about Pokémon Training, including about the Gym Leaders. It's true they're tougher than average Trainers. But they're nothing compared to the Elite Four. I saw how Lorelei's Lapras defeated a Torterra with just one move," said Mary.
"Sacrebleu. Eet deed?" asked Fifi.
"Yes," said Mary.
"I'll tell you what, Ash, if you ask me really nicely, I'll help you out," said Misty.
"I don't need your help," said Ash.
"Why? Is it because I'm a girl?" asked Misty.
"Gender has nothing to do about why I don't want your help," said Ash.
"Then what is it?" asked Misty.
"Ever since you started traveling with me, you've been nothing but a bully toward me. You pestered me about getting a stupid new bike for you when their friend, Calamity can repair it easily. You also belittled me for the slightest mistakes, hit me, hurt my Caterpie's feelings when it was trying to be your friend and tried to force Mary and me to not catch any Bug Pokémon," said Ash.
"Ash is right. You haven't been nice to Ash at all," said Buster.
"All we know ees zat you might be actually planneeng to give heem ze wrong advice out of spite een order to make a fool out of heem. He's not goeeng to take zat risk," said Fifi.
"Is that so? Fine with me. There's no way you'll beat Brock in the Pewter City Gym," said Misty. And she began to leave.
"Oh we will beat him. You'll see," said Mary.
"Like, that girl's got serious issues," said a familiar voice. Everybody turned to see that it belonged to none other Shirley the Loon.
"Le gasp! Shirley!" cried Fifi. She and Fifi ran up to each other and hugged.
"Fifi, thank goodness you're all right," said Shirley.
"Same to you," said Fifi. She kissed both of Shirley's cheeks.
"Why'd you kiss Shirley's cheeks?" asked Ash.
"Eet's a custom for French people to keess a person's cheeks as a greeting," said Fifi.
"I take it you're Shirley the Loon?" asked Ash.
"Like, totally," said Shirley.
"Mary Melody told me about you. Buster and Bookworm are here too," said Ash.
"Hello, Shirley. I'm a Pokémon Trainer now, just like Ash. He introduced me to the world of Pokémon," said Mary.
"I've been reading about Pokémon ever since I came to Pewter City. Like, I even have a Pokémon companion of my own," said Shirley. She stepped aside to introduce her new Pokémon buddy. It was a bipedal mammalian Pokémon that was primarily yellow. Its face was kite-shaped with a small, pale yellow snout and two short, pointed ears with pale yellow interiors. Its wide eyes were normally closed. The Pokémon's body was segmented with black skin was visible between its joints and along its neck. It had two brown, pauldron-shaped extensions on its shoulders, as well as a brown, fauld-like piece around its chest. It had three digits on each hand and foot, but its fingers considerably shorter than its toes. Two of its toes faced forward and one faces backward. Its tail was thick and long, with a brown band located near the tip.
"Abra," said the Pokémon.
"What's that?" asked Ash.
(Insert "Pokédex Theme, Kanto-Johto Version" from Pokémon)
Ash got out its Pokédex to get data on it. "Abra, a Psychic Power Pokémon. It sleeps eighteen hours a day, but employs telekinesis even while sleeping," said the Pokédex.
(End Music)
"I guess since you two are psychics, that's what makes you two a good match?" asked Buster.
"Yep. I heard the whole conversation. If you won't let Misty help you, will you let me help you train in preparation for Brock, Ash?" asked Shirley.
"How much do you know about Pokémon?" asked Ash.
"Like, about almost everything. Like I said, I read a lot of Pokémon books over the time I've spent here at Pewter City," said Shirley.
"Shirley was ze always ze brainiest of the girls at Acme Loo," said Fifi. Ash thought for a moment.
"Well . . . okay," said Ash.
"Thanks. I know that we're gonna be the best of friends," said Shirley.
"Abra," said Abra.
"Great. After we finish lunch, I want to introduce you to a boy zat I know ees my destined true love," said Fifi.
Later, both Ash & Mary's Pokémon were fully revitalized. "Well, Ash and Mary, no more waiting. Pikachu and all your other Pokémon are back to normal," said Joy.
"Oh, that's great," said Ash and Mary. They grabbed their Pokéballs and Pikachu jumped onto Ash's shoulder.
"Chu!" said Pikachu.
"Pikachu, we met another of my friends. This is Shirley the Loon and her Pokémon companion, Abra," said Mary.
"Hi," said Shirley.
"Abra," said Abra.
"So, Fifi, where is that boy you wanted me to meet," said Shirley. "You already met heem," said Fifi.
"I did?" asked Shirley.
(Insert "Hiya, Hot Stuff" from Pokémon)
Fifi then grabbed Pikachu. "Eet's Pikachu," said Fifi.
"Pika," said Pikachu, feeling uncomfortable. Shirley's eyes widened hearing this.
"No way. You're in love with Ash's Pikachu?" asked Shirley.
"Oui. I fell een love weeth heem even before he became Ash's. When I ended up een zis world, Elmyra tried to kidnap moi. But Pikachu came to my rescue and zapped her real good. Ever since zen, I've been een love weeth zis cutie. Le sigh," said Fifi. She then began to hug Pikachu, smooshing him against her breasts.
"But isn't he a bit . . . chubby for a potential boyfriend?" asked Shirley. Pikachu growled in annoyance due to being called chubby.
"I know. But he's so cute. I mean, look at heem. He has such a cute face. With zose rosy cheeks and those ears. Ov all ze boys I met, Pikachu has ze most keessable face," said Fifi. Fifi then began to kiss Pikachu all over the face, planting pink lipstick marks on his face like the previous times. And her smell went off too, much to Pikachu's disgust.
(End Music)
"Okay, that's enough kissing for one day, Fifi," said Ash. He then snatched Pikachu from Fifi.
"Le hey!" cried Fifi.
"Pikachu's getting sick to his stomach from your smell," said Ash. Pikachu was gagging and spitting due to Fifi's kisses.
"Non, non. Don't spit out my keesses. I'm hurt when boys do zat," said Fifi.
"I didn't ask to be kissed to begin with!" said Pikachu.
"Ash, Mary, do you two have Pokémon that can combat Brock's Pokémon. Like, you'll need either Grass, Water, Fighting, Ground or Steel-type Pokémon to smash his Rock Pokémon," said Shirley.
"We each have two Grass Pokémon. I have a Shroomish and Seedot. Mary has Bulbasaur and Budew," said Ash.
"If it's all right, Ash, I'd like to battle Brock first," said Mary.
"Why you?" asked Ash.
"Don't you remember the old saying, 'lady's first'," said Mary.
"Oh, yeah," said Ash.
"Wether I win or lose against Brock, it'll give you an idea of how tough he is. You can use this time to strengthen your own Pokémon," said Mary.
"Sure. Go show him what you're made of," said Ash.
"I will," said Mary.
"Can I come too, Mary? I'd like to watch the battle," said Buster.
"Sure. I can always use company," said Mary. And she and Buster left to find the Pewter City Gym.
"So, like, shall we get to training, Ash?" asked Shirley.
(Insert "Creeping Shadow" from Pokémon)
Mary Melody and Buster Bunny approached the Pewter City Gym. It was made entirely with rocks, big and small. The words "Pewter Gym" were carved onto the entrance. "So this is Pewter Gym. Alright then," said Mary.
"It's definitely a Rock-type Gym. I mean, look at the architecture style. It incorporates a rock theme," said Buster. The two then entered the building.
"Hello!" said Mary, looking around. Just then, the lights turned on and Mary and Buster saw a fifteen year-old boy with dark skin, black eyes and brown hair. His eyes appeared to be closed. He wore a green vest, which had four large pockets on the front. He wore this over an orange short-sleeved shirt, along with brown pants and blue and white sneakers. On either side of his belt, which was black with a gold rectangular buckle, he had attached brown belt pockets.
"Who goes there?" asked Brock.
"Huh? Oh. You must be Brock. I'm Mary Melody from Acme Acres. This is my friend, Buster Bunny, also from the same town," said Mary.
"So that must mean you two are toons like Shirley," said Brock.
"You know her?" asked Mary.
"Yes. Ever since she came to Pewter City, she goes to the library to learn everything about Pokémon," said Brock.
"I challenge you!" said Mary.
"Is this your first Gym match?" asked Brock.
"Yes," said Mary.
"A Gym match is different from other battles. This match is for Pokémon League authorization. There are special rules," said Brock.
"Um, what do you mean by special rules?" asked Buster, raising an eyebrow.
"We will use two Pokémon each, understood?" asked Brock.
"Okay," said Mary. Then, part of the battle arena changed til it looked like the rocky terrain of a mountain.
"If you win, you earn the Boulder Badge, a prize money of 1,400 and a TM," said Brock.
"I'm ready when you are," said Mary.
(End Music)
More lights turned on to reveal more spectators on the balcony. First was a woman with brown eyes and mahogany hair. She wore a pink shirt, a white skirt and blue sandals. There were also nine children. "Who are they?" asked Buster.
"They're my family. That's my mother, Lola. And my nine siblings; Forrest, Salvadore, Yolanda, Tommy, Cindy, Suzie, Timmy and the twins, Billy and Tilly. I also have a father, but he left. That good for nothing man, leaving mom to raise us alone. I also help raise the kids too," said Brock.
"I also act as referee," said Lola.
(Insert "Gym Leader Battle" from Pokémon)
Brock then took out a Pokéball. "To start thing simple, Geodude, go!" said Brock. He threw the Pokéball and his first Pokémon emerged. Geodude was a Rock & Ground-type Pokémon that resembled a a gray boulder with bulging, rocky eyebrows, trapezoidal eyes with brown irises, and muscular five-fingered arms.
"Geodude," said the Pokémon.
"A living rock with arms. Now that's something we don't have at Acme Acres," said Buster.
"A Geodude. Let's see what the Pokédex has to say about it," said Mary. She took out her Pokédex and it began to read data on it.
"Geodude, the Rock Pokémon. Geodude has incredibly high defensive power, making it virtually resistant to any physical attacks," said the Pokédex.
"For my first Pokémon, I choose Budew!" said Mary. She threw the ball and the said Pokémon was summoned.
"Budew!" said Budew.
"A Budew, huh? You normally don't find them in Kanto," said Brock.
"I found her in the Viridian Forest," said Mary.
"I see. Another case of an invasive Pokémon species," said Brock. Geodude then took a battle stance. And so did Budew.
"Let the match begin!" said Lola. And then, the two Pokémon charged at each other.
At a mini battlefield near the Pokémon Center, Ash was training both Shroomish and Seedot. They were doing a practice battle against his Rattata and Shirley's Abra. Shirley was commanding Rattata for this fight. "Shroomish, use Headbutt! Seedot, Absorb!" said Ash. Seedot fired a red beam from its stem, which zapped Rattata. This allowed Sedot to Absorb some of its energy. Shroomish charged at Shirley's Abra.
"Abra, Teleport!" said Shirley. Before Shroomish could hit Abra, the Psychic Pokémon warped away.
"Shroom?!" asked Shroomish.
"Now use Ice Punch!" said Shirley. Abra reappeared and punched Shroomish, with its fist glowing icy blue. It did super effective damage. Ash gasped.
"Sacrebleu. Looks like Shroomish took some bad damage back there," said Fifi.
"I taught Abra several moves using TMs since its only move is Teleport naturally. TMs teach Pokémon new attacks they normally can't learn. Ice moves are effective against Grass-type since in nature, freezing cold temperatures kill plant life. You must be ready for anything in Gym Battles, Ash. Maybe you should consider teaching some of your Pokémon TMs. They can't solely rely on their energy draining moves," said Shirley.
"Your friends are right about one thing, you are book smart," said Ash.
"Like, thanks," said Shirley. Shirley then turned to Rattata.
"Rattata, Quick Attack on Seedot!" said Shirley. Rattata charged speedily at Seedot and rammed it, knocking it down. But Seedot recovered and got back up on its feet. "Now use Bite!" said Shirley. Rattata charged, ready to bite Seedot.
"Seedot, Harden!" said Ash. Seedot's body began to glow.
"Rattata, stop quickly!" cried Shirley. Rattata stopped the attack before it could bite Seedot. "I didn't want to have your Rattata break its fangs," said Shirley.
"It would've been in worse shape than Samurai's pincers when it tried to use Vice Grip on Metapod when he used Harden, breaking its pincers. Shroomish, Stun Spore on Abra," said Ash. Shroomish unleashed some orange powder, which hit Abra, paralyzing it. "Alright! Now use Headbutt!" said Ash. Shroomish charged and headbutted Abra.
Back at Pewter Gym, Budew was winning against Geodude. "Budew, finish it with Bullet Seed!" said Mary. Budew spat some glowing seeds at Geodude and they were a direct hit. Geodude fell to the ground, defeated with swirls for eyes.
(End Music)
"Geodude is unable to battle! Budew wins!" said Lola. Brock's siblings gasped.
"Way to go, Budew!" said Mary.
"Budew!" said Budew.
"Awesome! Just one more Pokémon to beat and the badge will be yours, Mary!" said Buster.
"Geodude, return," said Brock. He returned Geodude to its Pokéball. "Now let's see if you can beat this one! Onix, I choose you!" said Brock. When he threw the Pokéball, Onix appeared. Onix roared upon appearing.
(Insert "Pokédex Theme, Kanto-Johto Version" from Pokémon)
Mary took out her Pokédex for data on Onix. "Onix, the Rock Snake Pokémon. It tunnels through the ground, which shakes when it raises its thunderous roar. It can move the ground at fifty miles per hour," said the Pokédex.
(End Music)
"Onix, use Tail Whip!" said Brock. Onix then swung its mighty tail, which hit Budew, real hard. It yelped as it got hit. Budew was defeated in one shot.
"Budew!" cried Mary.
"Budew is unable to battle! Onix wins!" said Lola. Brock's siblings cheered for their Brock's win for that round. Mary ran up to Budew.
"Budew, are you all right?" asked Mary.
"Budew," said Budew weakly.
"You did a great job, Budew. Take a nice rest," said Mary. She returned Budew to its Poké Ball.
"Bulbasaur, you're up!" said Mary. She threw the ball and Bulbasaur was summoned.
"Bulbasaur!" said Bulbasaur.
"A Bulbasaur, huh?" asked Brock.
"Bulbasaur, use Razor Leaf!" said Mary. Bulbasaur hurled some sharp leaves at Onix, delivering some super effective damage. Onix snarled in pain.
"Onix, use Rock Throw!" said Brock. Onix hurled some rocks with its tail, but Bulbasaur dodged the attack.
Back at the Pokémon Center, Ash and his Pokémon were taking a break from training. Seedot and Shroomish were drinking some water. "You and your Pokémon are doing great on your training, Ash," said Shirley.
"Thanks, Shirley. Now I see why you're the most book smart of the toons," said Ash.
"Seedot," said Seedot.
"Shroomish," said Shroomish.
"Shirley, why eesn't Ash going to use Pikachu een zis gym battle?" asked Fifi.
"Cause the Rock Pokémon, they're part Ground-type. And Electric attacks will do zero damage to Ground-types," said Shirley.
"Oh. I see," said Fifi. Misty was wandering when she saw Ash and the group.
"It's a good thing I have you guys to back me up," said Ash.
"Thanks," said the toons.
"Wait a minute! You didn't accept my help for preparation and yet you asked for the toons' help?!" asked Misty.
"What is your problem?" asked Ash.
"I know about Pokémon, but these toons don't know a thing about how Pokémon training works!" said Misty.
"Wrong. I do," said Shirley.
"Who are you?" asked Misty.
"I am Shirley the Loon, the mist book smart of the toons," said Shirley.
"You are not!" said Misty.
"What?! What do you mean?!" asked Shirley.
"You're the most dumbest because you're blond," said Misty rudely. Hearing this made Shirley mad. She fired a psychic blast, which knocked Misty down.
"How dare you judge me by my hair color! Not all blondes are dumb! There are several blonds out there who are smart! Ever since I came here, I spent many hours at the Pewter City library studying everything about Pokémon, including about Gym Leaders. You should be lucky that I don't use my psychic powers to turn your brain into jelly!" said Shirley.
"Abra abra!" said Abra.
"Believe moi. A really angry Shirley ees a dangerous Shirley," said Fifi.
(Insert "Pokémon Gym Theme" from Pokémon)
Bulbasaur was doing great against Brock's Onix, but Onix was still a tough opponent. "Onix, Tail Whip!" said Brock. Onix whacked Bulbasaur with its mighty tail. But Bulbasaur wasn't out of the battle. She could still fight. "Bulbasaur, use Vine Whip!" said Mary. Bulbasaur summoned its vines and she whipped Onix in the face. "Now use Stun Spore!" said Mary. Bulbasaur then released the same orange powder that Shroomish used during Ash's training battle. This was enough to paralyze Onix.
"Onix!" cried Brock. Brock's siblings gasped.
"Great work! Attack Onix while he's still paralyzed!" said Mary. Bulbasaur charged at Onix, ready to attack Onix while he couldn't attack. Buster then saw Brock's siblings were starting to climb down the balcony and head toward the arena.
Uh-oh. It looks like they're gonna try to interfere with the battle. I got to stop them, thought Buster. Before the siblings could cross the arena, Buster as a crossing guard began to speedily set up barricades around the arena. He set up the ol' "Do Not Cross" yellow tape and held a stop sign. "No crossing into the arena while the battle is in progress," said Buster.
"My children had been interfering with the gym battles in the past couple of days. And Trainers had been complaining to the Pokémon League and threatened to shut down the Gym. You helped prevent another complaint file," said Lola. Onix was now starting to weaken.
"Bulbasaur, finish it off with one last Vine Whip!" said Mary. Bulbasaur lashed out its vines one last time, which hit Onix. Onix then fell to the ground with a mighty crash that shook the arena! Onix had swirls in its eyes to show that it had been defeated. Brock and his siblings gasped.
(End Music)
"Onix is unable to battle! Bulbasaur wins! The winner of this Gym battle is Mary Melody from Acme Acres!" said Lola.
"Yes! We did it! We won our first Gym battle, Bulbasaur!" said Mary as she hugged Bulbasaur.
"Bulbasaur," said Bulbasaur.
"Onix, you fought hard. You deserve a rest," said Brock. And he returned Onix to its Poké Ball. He walked up to Mary Melody. "For a rookie Trainer, you actually fought well. You surprised me," said Brock.
"Thanks. You sure live up to being a tough Trainer," said Mary.
"Believe me, the other Gym Leaders are tougher than me. But anyway, as proof of your victory, here, a Boulder Badge, the prize money of 1,400 and TM 36: Rock Tomb. In addition, I'm also giving you this badge case for free," said Brock. He handed Mary the prizes. The Boulder badge was a gray badge shaped like a rock, carved into the shape of an octagon.
"I got a Boulder Badge!" said Mary.
"Bulba!" said Bulbasaur.
"Shirley has been very helpful in training my Pokémon to prepare for this Gym battle. Unlike you, when I make a mistake, she doesn't harshly berate me. She instead uses kind words and gives me advice of what I should I do instead," said Ash.
"Ash ees right. You're always mean when Ash makes a mistake. People don't listen to you just because you're mean. Zey listen when you show kindness," said Fifi.
"And putting people down doesn't get them to improve. Building them up does," said Shirley.
"So what? All I know is that Mary Melody lost against Brock by now since she wouldn't accept my help," said Misty.
"That's where you're wrong, sister," said a voice. It was Mary Melody. Buster Bunny was with her too.
"Mary," said Ash.
"I won and got the Boulder Badge," said Mary, showing the badge in her badge case.
"WHAT?!" asked Misty.
"That's great!" said Ash.
"Pikachu," said Pikachu.
"Congratulations," said Fifi.
"Like, totally awesome," said Shirley.
"So what is Brock like?" asked Ash.
"Even though I had the type advantage, his Geodude and Onix were still pretty tough," said Mary.
"Good thing you're training, Ash," said Buster.
"So one of you actually did beat Brock?" asked a voice. It was Flint.
"Yep. I did. Ash is training before he challenges him," said Mary.
"It seems I underestimated you kids," said Flint. And he left. Misty growled in frustration.
"I'm the one who's supposed to right, not you toons!" said Misty.
"There's no way I'm taking advice from somebody who summons a Goldeen when there's no water," said Ash coldly. Fifi snickered.
"Why you . . . !" said Misty. She tried to punch Ash, but Abra teleported Ash out of the way.
"Hey! No fair!" said Misty.
"I see nothing in your future if you, like, keep you up that bad attitude of yours," said Shirley.
"I'm insulted! I know when I've been insulted!" said Misty. And she stormed off.
"She needs serious anger management," said Buster.
"Oui, Buster," said Fifi.
"Just to let you know, you probably won't be able to battle Brock until tomorrow," said Mary.
"Why tomorrow?" asked Ash.
"His Pokémon need to be healed for the night. Plus, he has to help his mom take care of his many siblings due to his good for nothing father left," said Mary.
"I see," said Ash.
"His siblings almost ruined Mary's match cause they didn't want to see their big brother lose. But luckily, I barricaded the arena to make sure they didn't cross it while the battle was in progress," said Buster.
"Clever," said Ash.
"Ash, if it's all right, I want to head to Mt. Moon so I can get to the next city, which is Cerulean City," said Mary.
"Why?" asked Ash.
"Well, the more I travel, the more of my missing friends that I can find. Elmyra's still out there, probably trying to find them too and make them her pets. I need to find them before she does," said Mary.
"Are you sure?" asked Ash.
"Don't worry. I'll be fine. I'll wait for you at Cerulean City after I beat the Gym Leader there," said Mary.
"Okay," said Ash. Mary then gave Ash a hug.
"Go show Brock what you're made of," said Mary.
"I will. Please be careful, Mary," said Ash.
"Don't worry. I will," said Mary. And she left to continue her Pokémon Journey.
Later that night, Ash and Shirley finished training for the night and were having dinner outside. "You're a great teacher, Shirley for a girl who's still in school," said Ash.
"Thanks, Ash. I'm sure we're gonna, like, become the best of friends," said Shirley.
"Abra," said Abra. Just then, somebody approached the group. It was Brock, but Ash didn't know it was him, yet.
"You must be new in town," said Brock.
"Yes. I'm Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town. I plan to challenge Brock for the Boulder Badge tomorrow. Shirley here has been helping train my Pokémon," said Ash.
"You're not planning to use that Pikachu?" asked Brock.
"No," said Ash.
"It wouldn't be able to win anyway," said Brock.
"Pika," groaned Pikachu.
"He didn't mean to offend you, Pikachu. He's just saying the truth," said Ash.
"Anyway, I better get home. Take care against Brock. They don't call him Brock the Rock for nothing," said Brock. And he left.
The next day, Ash and the toons arrived at the Pewter City Gym. "Hello? I'm here to challenge you, Brock," said Ash.
"Here I am," said Brock. Ash gasped.
"You're Brock?!" asked Ash.
"Yes," said Brock.
"Why deedn't you tell us?" asked Fifi.
"None of you asked," said Brock.
"I'm ready to challenge you and win," said Ash.
"Okay. But don't expect me to go easy on you. We each use two Pokémon. Only the challenger can make substitutions," said Brock.
"Okay," said Ash. The toons went up to the bleachers.
"Geodude, I choose you!" said Brock. He threw the ball and Geodude was summoned once again.
"Geodude," said Geodude.

Ash got out his Pokédex to get data on Brock's Pokémon. "Geodude, the Rock Pokémon. Geodude is often found on mountain roads with half of its body buried in the ground so it can observe mountain travelers," said the Pokédex.

"For my first Pokémon, I choose, Seedot!" said Ash. He threw the ball and Seedot was summoned.
"Seedot!" said Seedot.
"A Seedot huh," said Brock.
"Let the match begin!" said Lola. Misty was watching the match as well.
"Why are you here?" asked Buster.
"I'm watching so I can see Ash lose for not allowing me to advise him," said Misty.
"He won't lose," said Fifi. Flint was also watching in secret.
"Let's see if this kid can beat Brock too," said Flint.

"Seedot, use Absorb!" said Ash. Seedot fired the absorbing beam from its stem once again.
"Geodude, use Defense Curl to lessen the damage!" said Brock. Geodude crossed its arms and curled up. When the Absorb beam hit Geodude, it only caused half of the damage it normally caused. Bookworm squealed in confusion.
"Defense Curl raises a Pokémon's defense, lessening the damage it takes from attacks," said Shirley.
"Geodude, Tackle!" said Brock. Geodude charged and rammed Seedot, knocking it down. However, Seedot got back up on its feet.
"Seedot, use your own Tackle!" said Ash. Seedot charged and rammed Geodude. But being a Rock-type and Tackle being a Normal attack, Geodude didn't get that much damage.
"Geodude, use Rock Throw!" said Brock. Geodude threw some rocks at Seedot.
"Seedot, use Harden!" said Ash. Seedot glowed green and whatever rocks hit it, just bounced off or shattered into smaller pieces.
"Geodude! Tackle again!" said Brock. Geodude tackled Seedot, knocking it back.
"Strike back with Absorb!" said Ash. Seedot used Absorb, and this time, it hit Geodude, delivering super effective damage. This in turn restored Seedot's energy. The attack totally weakened Geodude since Grass does four times damage to a dual Rock & Ground-type Pokémon like him.
"Geodude, Rock Throw!" said Brock. Geodude hurled more rocks at Seedot.
"Seedot, dodge it!" said Ash. Seedot ran and jumped out of the way of the rocks. "Use Seed Bomb!" said Ash. Seedot createed several glowing green seeds over its head and sent them rolling toward Geodude. When the seeds reach it, they explode. "Finish it with Tackle!" said Ash. Seedot charged and rammed Geodude, knocking it out.
"Geodude is unable to battle! Seedot wins!" said Lola.
"All right!" said Ash.
"Seedot!" said Seedot happily. The toons cheered. Misty growled in frustration.
"He may have beaten Geodude, but he won't beat his next Pokémon," said Misty.
"I see you taught Seedot the move of Seed Bomb with a TM," said Brock.
"Yes, I did," said Ash.
"Geodude, return," sad Brock. Geodude was returned to it's Pokéball. Brock then took out Onix's Pokéball.
"Onix, go!" said Brock. He threw the Pokéball and Onix came out. Some of the toons were shocked at Onix's size.
"Let's see what the Pokédex has to say about it," said Ash. Ash took out his Pokédex and it began to read data on Onix.
"Onix, the Rock Snake Pokémon. By twisting its large and powerful body, Onix can quickly bore through the ground at fifty miles per hour," said the Pokédex.
"How ees Ash supposed to beat zat?" asked Fifi.
"If Mary could beat Onix with small Grass Pokémon, Ash can do it too," said Shirley.
"Mary was only lucky. Ash will never beat Onix," said Misty.
"Onix, use Smack Down!" said Brock. Onix opened its mouth, and the inside of its mouth glowed orange. It then fired an orange orb of energy from its mouth at Seedot. It delivered some serious damage. "Use Bind!" said Brock. Onix then wrapped its body around Seedot and began to squeeze it. Ash gasped seeing Seedot was in trouble.
"Seedot, return!" said Ash. He returned Seedot to its Poké Ball.

"The challenger will now make a substitution," said Lola.
"Aaaaaaawwww. And I was getting to the good part," said Onix.
"Sorry. I didn't want you to crack Seedot open by accident," said Ash. He took out another Poké Ball.
"Shroomish, come on out!" said Ash. He threw the ball and Shroomish was summoned.
"Shroomish!" said Shroomish.
"A Shroomish. Another Hoenn Grass Pokémon," said Brock.

"Let the battle resume!" said Lola.
"Onix, use Tackle!" said Brock. Onix charged at Shroomish.
"Shroomish, dodge it!" said Ash. Shroomish jumped out of the way and Onix hit the ground instead.
"Now Shroomish, use Absorb!" said Ash. Shroomish fired the attack and absorb some of Onix's energy. But since Onix was stronger than Geodude, it didn't do as much damage.
"My Onix won't go down easily as Geodude did," said Brock.
"I wouldn't have it any other way," said Ash.
"Onix, Smack Down!" said Brock. Onix fired the attack and it hit Shroomish. Shroomish wasn't down yet.
"Shroomish, use Bullet Seed!" said Ash. Shroomish spat some glowing seeds from its mouth, which pelted Onix. Onix snarled in pain.
"That's a move that Shroomish can only learn through a TM, right?" asked Buster.
"Yes. Ash used it during training after Misty and Mary left," said Shirley.
"Onix, use Rock Tomb!" said Brock. Onix becomes outlined in white energy and raises its head. Multiple gray rocks outlined in white energy then formed around its head in the shape of a ring. Then, the rocks fell down on Seedot. Ash gasped. "Onix, use Bind!" said Brock. Onix wrapped its tail around Shroomish and began to squeeze him. Ash and the toons gasped. Misty just smirked.
"He never stood a chance. I knew it," said Misty.
"Shroomish, use Stun Spore!" said Ash. Shroomish then fired the orange powder, right in Onix's face. Onix coughed as he breathed into it. As a result, he became paralyzed and was forced to let go of Shroomish. "Yes!" said Ash.
"All right!" said Fifi.
"What?!" said Misty. Onix growled as he tried to move, but he couldn't. "Onix!" cried Brock.
"Shroomish, use Absorb!" said Ash. But instead firing the usually firing the Absorbing beam, it suddenly launched some sort of seed. And when the seed hit Onix, it became wrapped in vines and leaves that restrained it. The vines and leaves glowed red and sucked energy from it. Onix roared in distress. Ash gasped. "Shroomish, you just learned Leech Seed," said Ash.
"Shroom," said Shroomish. The Leech Seed was more powerful than Absorb.
"Onix, no!" cried Brock. Once all of its energy was drained, Onix fell to the ground with a mighty crash!
(End Music)
"Onix is unable to battle! Shroomish wins! The winner of this gym challenge is Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town!" said Lola.
"Yes! We did it! We won our first gym battle!" said Ash as she hugged Shroomish.
"Shroomish!" said Shroomish.
"Yeah!" said the toons.
"Well, he actually beat Brock," said Flint. Misty was furious that Ash won.
"No fair. Why am I always being proven wrong?" complained Misty.
"Spoiled sport," said Fifi.
"Onix return. Take a good rest," said Brock. And he returned Onix to its Poké Ball. Brock went up to Ash.
"You're stronger than you look, Ash," said Brock.
"Thanks. I can see why they call you Brock the Rock," said Ash.
"Here, your prizes from the Pokémon battle earlier. A Boulder Badge, 1,400 and TM 36: Rock Tomb," said Brock, handing Ash the prizes.
"Alright! I got a Boulder Badge!" said Ash, holding the badge high. "Pikachu!" said Pikachu.
"Seeing how you're traveling and get to meet new Pokémon, it makes me jealous," said Brock.
"Why? Aren't you happy being a Gym Leader?" asked Ash.
"Staying in the same place isn't enough to learn about Pokémon. The truth is, I want to become a Pokémon Breeder," said Brock.
"What ees a Pokémon Breeder?" asked Fifi.
"Unlike normal Trainers, Pokémon Breeders typically concern themselves with raising Pokémon for health and friendship, rather than for competitive fields like Gyms and Pokémon Contests," said Brock.
"Really," said Buster.
"But if you leave, who'll help your mother take care of your siblings?" asked Shirley.
"Brock. You go follow your own dreams," said Flint, stepping forward. Then, Flint took out his beard and cap. Everybody saw his true face. He looked exactly like Brock.
"My father," said Brock.
"Flint, dear. Is that really you?" asked Lola.
"Yes. It's me, Lola," said Flint.
"Huh? You're the good for nothing father who left home and never came back?" asked Ash.
"That's right. It was me. I couldn't become the great Pokémon trainer I wanted to 'cause I was such a failure and too embarrassed and ashamed to go back to my family," said Flint.
"But you're back now," said Lola.
"Its time I started taking care of my family. You go fulfill your dreams and mine," said Flint. Brock turned to Flint.
"Father, there are some things I have to tell you," said Brock.
"After all these years, I understand how you must feel about me. So I want you to get everything off your chest," said Flint.
"Here," said Brock. He handed Flint a sowing needle and thread. Flint sweated in embarrassment.
"Suzie always rips her dresses, so you better learn to sow, and Timmy only eats cold spaghetti for breakfast, Tommy likes corn flakes for . . . ," said Brock.
"Slow down, slow down! I can't write that fast," said Flint.
"Cindy sleep walks, so you have to a bell on her wrist, the twins never want to take a bath . . . ," said Brock.
Very soon, Ash, Pikachu, Brock, Fifi, Buster, Shirley & her Abra and Bookworm were on their way to Mt. Moon in order to get to Cerulean City. Brock was carrying a large, blue backpack with a bedroll seen strapped to it at the top. "Hey, Ash, are you sure it's okay if I go with you on your Pokémon journey?" asked Brock.
"Sure I'm sure. The more the merrier and it's good to have somebody to talk with," said Ash.
"Plus, we'll have more people to help us find our missing toon pals. And we'll meet up with Mary Melody at the next city," said Buster.
"Well, what about that girl who keeps following you?" asked Brock. Everybody saw Misty.
"Don't forget about my bike, Ash Ketchum! I'm gonna follow you until you pay me back!" said Misty.
"I know! I know! But I don't have enough money yet! Besides, I need some of the money to buy Trainer supplies too!" said Ash, looking annoyed.
"Ash, Pikachu, let's just lose her already," said Fifi. She began to run ahead of the ground.
(Insert "The End of an Adventure" from Pokémon)
"Hey, wait up!" said Ash. Ash and the others began to run after Fifi.
"You won't get away!" said Misty. She began to chase after the group. And so, with friends old and new, and Misty close behind, Ash and the toons continue their quests to become Pokémon Masters and find the rest of the missing students. Just then, Team Rocket emerged from the ground, using a drill.
"I told you I'd get us out of this," said James proudly.
"This was all . . . ," said Jessie. But before she could finish her sentence, Ash and the group began to step on their heads as they ran. They were unaware they were stepping on Team Rocket. "Your fault!" said Jessie.
"Wait for me!" cried Misty as she stepped on Team Rocket. Ash and his friends ran into the distance. After getting stepped on, Team Rocket had foot marks on their faces. The wind began to below.
"Buried alive and trampled," grumbled Jessie.
"We've hit rock bottom!" said Jessie & James.
"Meowth!" screamed Meowth as they fell into the hole they had just dug. Team Rocket were right about hitting rock bottom. They hit it, literally with a loud crash!
(End Music)
Mary Melody was exploring the dark caves of Mt. Moon. She had a flashlight so she could see in the dark cave. Just then, she heard some movement. "Is somebody there?" asked Mary. She pointed her flashlight to where she heard the movement and saw two familiar faces. It was Hamton J. Pig and Fowlmouth.
"Mary!" cried Hamton and Fowlmouth.
"Hamton, Fowlmouth, thank goodness you two are okay," said Mary. She then hugged her two friends.
"It's good to see you're all right too," said Hamton.
"Where are we? What are these strange creatures we keep seeing?" asked Fowlmouth.
"I guess I have sone explaining to do," said Mary.

Sneak Peek
On the next episode of "Tiny Toon Adventures in Kanto", Ash and the gang arrive at Mt. Moon, where they meet a scientist from the Pewter City Museum named Seymour. But unfortunately, Team Rocket are here too and want to get their greedy hands on the fabled Moonstone. But the heroes aren't about to allow them to find or steal it. Can our heroes foil Team Rocket once again? Find out, in "Clefairy and the Moonstone" on "Tiny Toon Adventures" in Kanto"!
Well, both Ash and Mary have won their first Gym badges. And this time, Ash did it in one try and earned the Boulder Badge legitimately, unlike in the anime. The same thing will apply with the Cascade, Rainbow and Marsh Badges too. In the preview for next episode, I mentioned that Seymour is from the Pewter City Museum. That was only stated in the Japanese version, but I intend to include that fact in my version too. See you next episode, folks.
