Knocking on Sado's apartment door, Ichigo shifted the huge bag of books that he was carrying and looked up when his large friend opened the door with a soft smile. "Ichigo," Sado greeted, Ichigo responding with his own smile.
"Hey there. I have some things that I need to talk with you about before the others get here," Ichigo said, hefting the bags up in his arms. "I kind of left the food I brought with on my scooter though," he continued, looking over the railing down to the scooter that still had several bags in a travel basket on it.
"I can get them. Go ahead and set your bags down in the living room," Sado told him, smiling as he stepped out, holding the door open for Ichigo. The red head nodded as he stepped into the apartment, the door swinging shut behind him. He juggled the bag while he pulled off his shoes and tucked them away. He pulled out his set of house slippers that his sister had bought him just for Sado's home, and slid them on before he headed into the living room.
Sado's last apartment had amounted to what the American's called a studio apartment, a 1R, which had been one giant room with everything but the bathroom in the same area. His new apartment was an 1LDK apartment. A one bedroom that was much nicer then the last place seeing as Sado had found a good stable job that helped to supplement his allowance from his parent's estates.
The other male had also worked on some smart investing with Mizurio's help, and, after he had paid the right taxes, had paid his rent three months in advance since he had moved in the year before. The fact his rent was paid for ahead of time meant he had a bit more money to work with month to month and the apartment gave him plenty of room to host study parties with everyone. Ichigo was just happy that Sado didn't live in the rat hole like he had been when he had been living in the other place.
Setting the books down onto the coffee table, Ichigo sighed as he moved into the kitchen. He pulled down the extra large electric kettle and the pump thermos that they had all pitched in to buy as a housewarming gift and set about making some tea. He smiled when Sado came into the room, obviously having kicked off his shoes in the gekan as he had held the bags. Between the two of them, they had the snacks set up for easy grabbing for everyone and they left the tea to brew in the thermos.
"What did you need to talk about?" Sado asked as he smiled at finding that Ichigo had stopped by a small specialty shop that sold various snack foods and candy from not only the United States but also Mexico, Canada and a few other places. It looked as if Ichigo had picked up some cinnamon based cookies that they both enjoyed and knew that went well with basic tea.
"You know how I was offered the chance to transfer to the Rose Academy in Paris?" Ichigo asked. Sado nodded. "Apparently there is something big coming over there that the Seireitei was going to send someone to check things out, but, like I told them, they'll stick out to much to be useful. It's bad enough here, but can you imagine them doing that in Paris?" he huffed.
Sado groaned as he shook his head with a frown. "Do you think that your cousin would know about what is going on there? Kagami-san lives in Paris with your aunt right?" he asked. Ichigo nodded. "Would she be up right now?" he asked.
Ichigo checked the time, finding it to be just after two in the afternoon, nodding his head after he did some quick calculations. "They're about seven hours behind us, so that would make it eight at night there. She should be heading to school actually. She goes to the Rose academy herself," he said, pulling out his tablet and opening the messenger service that they used to keep in touch.
He quickly typed out a message to her asking about some rumors that he had heard from some "special" friends. Kagami, despite not having the same depth of spiritual power that he, his sisters, and their parents had, knew about the World of the Dead. They had grown up for quite a long time together before her mother had moved her to Paris after her father's death, and they kept in touch even through the Winter War.
When he had become a Substitute, trying to save Rukia and the world from Aizen, he had called her and told her everything that had been going on. She had kept quiet about it, lending him an ear whenever he needed it.
She responded rather quickly, sending him a link and warning that he would need to use a VPN service to access it since it had been blocked outside of Paris to protect their tourism. Ichigo hummed and turned on his personal service so that he could view the blog called The LadyBlog, which was all about the Parisian Magical Heros, Ladybug and Chat Noir.
The two settled in to start watching the videos and past streams, Ichigo sitting back with a frown on his face. "I'm kind of glad that I took French for my language," he huffed, Sado nodding his head. "So. Ladybug and Chat Noir."
"You have to go find them, don't you?" Sado asked. Ichigo hummed. He wrinkled his nose as he pulled out several books.
"There's history there. The Shinigami have helped the Ladybug holder before," Ichigo said. "You read the stuff I sent you, right?" he asked, Sado nodding. "Well it seems as if the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculous' are in play while the others rotate in and out. What I'm curious about is this girl here who has said that she is best friends with Ladybug. I would think that she would have been warned that she should be quiet if she is indeed friends. It's dangerous to be a public friend to superheroes as it's been shown."
"It seems as if there is more than what is known right now," Sado mused. Ichigo grunted as he pulled up his messenger, sending a new message to Kagami for the full explanation if she could before he started to lay out the books. "They'll be here soon."
"Yeah. We going to order take out tonight?" Ichigo asked. Sado pulled out a notebook to put everyone's orders down once they got there along with the chosen menu. Ichigo smiled at that before he gave him a long look. "I take it that you'll be coming with me, huh?" he asked.
"I will be. I can sublet to one of our friends if Uryu doesn't want to use it while he looks for a new apartment during our time. Or depending on when we're leaving, I can break the lease easily enough. I know that he was looking for a new place and it can help me keep on record depending on how things go."
"I'll start to look for a good apartment for you then," Ichigo promised, Sado smirking at him. "It will even be covered by the Seireitei since we'll be on a mission for them. I have a feeling that we'll be there for at minimum the next two years if not longer. And I think that our friends will be living in the house for us for a time. I know dad was going to talk to Ryuken about running the clinic for him."
"Most likely to all of that, yes," Sado grunted, placing an arm around Ichigo's waist, watching him blush softly as he pulled up apartments for rent in Paris. He and his family had already found a large top story penthouse that would be more then big enough for them and he knew that the building had other apartments open.
Ichigo figured that before they left for Paris, he and Sado had to talk about their relationship and where they wanted to take it, but at that moment? They had other things to focus on.
Like who the hell decided that wearing a Luchador mask with a damn suit and tie was a good idea. Who thought that would be a good look? Then again, from the various pictures of the akuma's, Ichigo highly doubted that the man named Papillion knew a lick about proper fashion. He seemed a bit blind in that regard but Ichigo knew that he wouldn't be able to really figure things out until they had gotten to Paris.
After all, he had to be acquainted with the spiritual side of the city to be able to know anything. Especially if it was reset as often as it was.
