The next day, at school, I was having lunch with my friends.
"Rick passed a math test," said Kristy.
"That's good," said Stacey.
"I'm glad you helped him out," said Kristy.
"Anytime. I'll help him study anytime he needs it," said Stacey.
She's a math wizard.
"I can always help him," I said.
"Okay," said Kristy
"They invited me to hang out with them today, but I can't, I have plans with the Willis girls," I said. "And, I can't be with them on Saturday until at least after five because Dad asked me to keep an eye on Jeff while he's at a meeting."
"True and you can help him next time before the test," said Kristy.
"Deal," I said.
I'm good with math, too.
"Since when you like those guys?" asked Dawn.
"We're just friends," I said. "Dad already met them and liked them."
"That's a good sign so far," said Kristy.
After school, I went to the mall with the girls.
"My dad's letting me get a new phone as long as I help pay the phone bill," I said.
"That's good," said Kayla.
"I figured I'd get it from here while I'm with you both," I said.
"Good idea," said Kaylee.
"I have no idea what I want yet. I plan to keep my number," I said.
"Okay, great," said Kaylee.
I found an iPod that I liked and was able to trade my old cell to that one. I told them I wanted to keep my number with no problem. I didn't had to pay much to do so. We went to the movies before we had dinner at the diner on the way home.
"In case we have any plans on Saturday, it won't be until after five because I'll be keeping an eye on Jeff," I said.
"I know we'll be baby-sitting the younger kids for the day until around four. You can bring Jeff over in case we need you with D.J.," said Kaylee.
"Okay. I'll check with Dad to make sure if it's okay," I said. "Tell D.J. he can play with my brother if he's good."
"Sounds good," said Kayla.
"What time?" I asked.
"Our parents won't leave the house until noon," said Kaylee.
Later, I spoke to Dad about the plans and agreed to let Jeff go over with me.
The next day, Rick and Jack were over, but we were on the porch. Dad was doing errands. He lets me have boys over while he's doing errands as long as I stick with that no boys in the house rule. I do respect that. He trusts me. That's what I do when I'm with Logan.
"Why can't we go in?" asked Jack.
"I'm sorry, but I can't let you inside when my dad's not home," I said. "It's against the rules."
"It's only one time," said Rick.
"No," I said. "Besides, I told you I can't hang out with you until later on, remember?"
I looked at the watch.
"Jeff, are you ready?" I asked.
"Yes," said Jeff.
Everything made out fine. D.J. did behave for once.
"Your mom said you better play nice with Jeff or I can punish you," I said.
"No you can't," said D.J.
"Actually, I can. She said so," I said. "If you can't behave, you won't play with him at all."
That worked. D.J. is a handful, but he knows better when I'm around. That part is true. I stayed close to D.J. while he's with Jeff. I already told him I'd be around in case he needs me. The Willis parents came home at four.
"How was everything?" asked Mrs. Willis.
"It made out fine," I said.
Jeff and I went home after I got paid. Dad was home early.
"The meeting ended early," said Dad.
"Oh, good. Their parents just got back, so it turned out good," I said. "I warned D.J. to be nice with Jeff or he'd be punished like his mom told me to."
"Good," said Dad.
I told him what the guys were trying to get me to do while I told them no.
"There was no way I'd let them to get me in trouble," I said.
"You did the right thing," said Dad.
"I think they forgot that I wasn't free today," I said.
"You're probably right," said Dad. "Oh, I forgot that Sharon and I are going to see a rated-R movie tonight."
"No problem. I love being with Jeff," I said.
"We're going to have dinner here first," said Dad.
"Do you mind if I study in between? I don't have a test until Monday, but if you need me to watch him, it's fine with me," I said.
"I don't mind," said Dad.
That night, we had pizza before Dad and Sharon went out.
"Jeff, are you going to be okay for a bit down there while I study?" I asked.
"I'm fine with that," said Jeff.
"Dad already knows about it," I said.
Jeff because he's a good kid and keeps himself busy when I have to study on a weekend, but my limit is one hour or my neck will get stiffed. Jeff had already gone to bed by the time they got home.
