Chapter 2 "The visit"

She closed the door fast behind her.

Still alive. Mina met him two times by now and was still alive.

How could that be? Why?

She needed to shower right now, to calm her nerves.

The day wasn't even half over, but already so much had happened.

Mina was done and undressed in the hallway. Mindlessly, she threw her closing to the ground

The situation she found herself in, was so nerve racking, that she forgot to drink enough and walked into the kitchen.

Dehydrated, she opened the fridge, to get a bottle of water.

"I met him again, but he doesn't kill me. What is up with that?"

She mumbled to herself. That didn't make any sense at all.

The distance between the two wasn't that much. He could reach every place on this planet.

She was afraid, that he could find her home and destroy it. Cell had destroyed Villages nearby, but he hadn't come yet for hers. It was only a matter of time, and that gave her chills. "No, no, no, calm down. He doesn't know. He doesn't care. He's busy with other places." She told herself to lighten the mood.

What did Mina do right that others did wrong?

She looked back to the two times she met him.

...

But she couldn't find any reason at all, why he let her leave.

That was not something he did.

He didn't let anyone survive.

He was a cruel and sadistic monster.

He was the most dangerous person now.

Cell didn't need to succumb to other people. He ruled the food chain, even though, he didn't have human needs to fulfill. Also, he didn't compromise with anyone and didn't have to please others. She also didn't see him being corrupt...or? Did anyone ever try that? Na.

He was freed from desire.

No way anyone was able to buy him. What could Cell even want that would end his destructive lifestyle? There was nothing he could want or need.

He didn't have human needs.

He didn't need anything.

He was freed from desire.

Freedom.

Lived Cell what others called freedom?

Without moving, she stood naked in her kitchen and reflected on her current situation.

What would be best to do?

She didn't know and thought about calling her parents because she needed comfort and a huge chunk of advice. Her relationship with her parents was beyond broken. Mina always felt like it was hopeless to try to fix it. But she needed to talk to someone. There was no other soul in her life. She needed to talk, but it is about Cell. Should she talk about him?

She wasn't sure if her father could gain a heart attack from that, and she certainly didn't want that to happen. On the other hand, they wouldn't pick up the phone anyway. Almost like, they didn't want to talk to her...

Cell had talked to her more than her parents in the last two years. Sad. Why did their relationship turn this way? Her parents weren't satisfied with her accomplishments ever.

What to do about it?

Everything is sad.

Her mood sank, and she tried her best to not cry. Why is everything doomed?

She put her water bottle on the kitchen table and walked to her bathroom.

Mina could think best while taking a shower and relaxing.

Why was she still alive? She felt it was unfair. Not that she wanted to die, but it felt not right. Why couldn't all the other people stay alive? Why does he have to be so cruel?

The water had just the right temperature, and she hoped it would help her block bad thoughts out of her mind for a moment.

"Well, could have been that ... nothing. Forget it."

"It's ok, it was a coincidence."

Had Cell mistaken her for somebody else?

No. How was that possible, when he was the perfect being? Errors excluded...

Wait a second...

In which regard was he perfect? If he was truly perfect, then he would be god. She couldn't imagine, that he would be perfect to 100%. That would mean, that he knew everything on all levels...of anything. That wasn't possible. Also, he had his needs. He needed to kill people...

Doesn't matter...

The shower is more important right now.

Why did she have to think about Cell so much?

"Because he wants to kill you, you stupid goose!" she slurred at herself.

It's a waste of time. Everything is a waste of time.

She wouldn't be able to flee anywhere. He said he is going to kill her...

If that was the case... that she had to die... then she could ask him why he didn't kill her.

...

If she did that, if she pestered him, he would kill her in an instant...but waiting to die? It's only been a day since he announced his tournament. That means she had only nine days to live. The wait and the uncertainty were unbearable.

"What am I going to do!?" She was desperate. Why can't she stop thinking?

"That's it! I'm going to ask him!" and with that, she left the shower and grabbed her towel.

"I need answers NOW!" She panicked. But also, very intrigued by what his answer could be.

There were so many things she could ask him. Her mind was at a point where she didn't mind dying, just to satisfy her curiosity. All the things she could ask him! Mina was excited, even though, she didn't sit in her car jet.

One hour until her arrival at his tournament ring.

So... what to say if he was in a bad mood?

Doesn't matter.

Nothing matters at all.

Everything will end.

He said he will kill her. She will die anyway. So what is the point of not talking to him?

Her emotions drove her crazy. She didn't know what she felt right now if she was afraid or not. If she was afraid, then why did she drive to him and not turn around?

Was he there?

"It doesn't matter!" She screamed out loud and turned up the volume of her radio.

She didn't want to drive directly to his ring, because she needed a walk to clear her mind, before approaching him. She stopped her capsule car to put it in her pocket.

A 10-Minute walk and she was almost there.

The weather was flawless. At least something...

Her dress fluttered in the wind, and she realized, that her shoes didn't match the terrain.

Doesn't matter. There are more important things.

She stopped.

Mina saw the tournament ring... and a figure in the middle of it. She couldn't see who it was. Who should it be, when not Cell?

Doesn't matter.

She continued walking towards it, but her angst rose. If she turned now, she looked like a coward!

The ground in focus, she thought to herself, that she should have worn sneakers instead of sandals. Her outfit looked nice, but it wasn't suitable for survival.

Doesn't matter.

She looked up and... Cell was not there, but instead, there was a woman, standing in the ring.

What

is

happening?

Mina stopped. What was going on? Why should anyone come to-

She realized that this woman must have had a similar experience as her.

Maybe she also searched for answers? Well, at least they wouldn't die alone...

Mina approached her. The woman looked like she did some yoga. Ok. Nice. Yep. Why not? Just go to Cells ring and do some good old yoga. What could happen?

Mina thought the woman was tasteless. People died good, damn it.

The woman didn't move.

Mina felt that she had to say something, "Hello." She got ignored. Mina didn't hat to talk to her. Ok. Whatever.

"You got nerves coming here." Uhm...ok?

"Talk about yourself. Haha." Mina tried to keep being friendly.

She didn't want to fight.

Not her.

Not now.

"What do you have to do with him?" She turned to face Mina.

Was she... jealous? No... that cannot be.

"Ehm... I ... I ... nothing. I don't have anything to do with him." She didn't believe her, because she squinted her eyes.

"And that is why you came here?" What was going on? Why is she so aggressive?

"That's not your business." Mina turned and walked away. She didn't get far, because the woman grabbed her by her shoulders and flung her around. "Oh, no. You stay here!"

"Hey, what is that all about!?" Rude!

"What do you want from him?" She was really upset and Mina didn't know why.

"I wanted to ask him if I could come to his tournament too." Mina already knew the answer, but she hoped, it would calm the black haired woman down.

"Yes, you can, and now get lost!" Excuse me!? Who do you think you are!?

"And you are?" Mina raised an eyebrow. The woman smiled with arrogance.

"I'm his pupil."

...

You have to be kidding me.

"Ahaaa Haha ha! You must be joking!" Mina laughed out loud. What kind of Bullshit is this?

Oh shit.

The woman got furious from her laughter.

Something wasn't right with her.

Was she jealous?

"OK, you know what? I will leave you alone with your darling!" Still giggling, she walked off.

Oh my god. What was that!?

Did she hit her head or something?

At least, she let her go this time.

Great.

Mina almost pissed herself coming here and then this!

She didn't know in which direction she walked, but it didn't matter to her. At least she didn't hat to be around the crazy lady. Did Cell meet her already? Was she being honest? No.

Just no. That wouldn't make any sense. Cell is not training people. He has better things to do.

Frustrating. Mina had so many questions, which needed answers!

Wait... she didn't have to leave but wait instead. He will return after some time.

She searched for a nice place to stay and got her capsule out. Reading a book to calm the nerves was the right thing to do.

After almost two hours, Mina went looking, if he had returned already.

There he was!

Now she felt nervous. Should she really talk to him? She should.

Everything will be fine if she talks about Goku or his tournament, right?

She packed her stuff and walked back to his ring.

Where was the other woman?

Doesn't matter. Focus.

Why was she happy? Was it, because she actually went to him?

Cell stood in his ring with his eyes closed.

"How are your day, Cell? What is your day?" He slowly looked over at her. "... How is your day?... ehm...hi..." Great start. She felt like an idiot especially with his stern expression

"Ts. Why are you here? Death wishes?" She couldn't tell what his mood was.

"I... I ... wanted to know... well I...ehm...", for the love of God, why did she have to forget everything she wanted to ask him now? She made up a bunch of amazing questions to ask him in the car, why can't she remember?

Cell uncrossed his arms and took a deep breath in. Before he could say anything, she said quickly, "Look, I don't want to bug you, but I need to know the reason why I'm still alive?"

Cell looked her in the eyes, "Why do you need to know that? Be happy and go home."

"But...that...it's...it's..." She couldn't form a sentence. His smug smile returned.

"I'm only keeping you alive, so you can witness my victory, and after that, I will kill you."

She didn't know how to respond properly. His whole body was facing her now. He was massive. Maybe she underestimated the situation?

"Sooo...you are the best...but you still feel the need to prove that?"

"I want to test my strength. Besides, my enemies might show up with their newly gained powers. I want to know what the outcome could be." That... kinda makes sense.

She felt sad because now, she couldn't ask him more questions without looking like an idiot.

Wait a minute... what happened to...

"Cell ...ehm...may I ask..." "Spit it out!" He was grumpy...what a mood..." What happened to the woman I met here before?"

He looked puzzled.

"There was a woman who claimed, that you train her now? What is up wi-" "Lie."

His tone changed and he turned angry. He looked in a specific direction, but Mina didn't see anything there. Calmly, he asked, "Do you know her?" "No, but I had been here two hours ago, and she happened to be here too. She asked me what I was doing here." Oh boy. He looked mad. "If she comes back here, I will kill her." He turned back to Mina, "The same for you. Come back to witness my victory and die!" Mina was afraid. Head empty. No better response. "Ok" He looked like he thought she was crazy again.

"Go home." She didn't know if she should say goodbye or anything.

"...erm... 'till your...ehm...see you..." She smiled and waved him goodbye. He stared her down. He judged hard. Cell definitely thought she was crazy.

"See you on Thursday!" "Wednesday!" "Oh shit!" She screamed with a high-pitched voice and threw her hands over her head. Can't be! Wednesday happened to be her birthday and she forgot... Cell laughed. Why that? What did she do?

She was fascinated... He had a weird sense of humor...

Tears formed in the corner of his eyes. "Return home!" He said while he was laughing.

She tilted her head like a puppy. What was going on?

"Come on, go home!" She didn't want to provoke him by staying longer than he wanted.

She pulled out her capsule car and looked for a good spot to unwrap it.

Cell was still laughing his ass off. Weird...but also kinda cute.

She wanted to throw the capsule, but he held her arm tight with his left arm.

"Wait!" He looked back to that specific spot, but Mina didn't see anything. He was so serious... She looked up at him. How tall he was... She looked at his hand. He didn't hold her as firm. "I could have sworn..." and he let go of her.

She was puzzled. What happened? What was going on? She threw her capsule and her red car appeared in front of her. The windows are down. She forgot to close them. This isn't that bad, she thought.

She was disappointed to leave now. She wanted to talk more with him.

She wanted to know everything. She needed to.

"Cell?" She looked at him and he smiled. Why was he smiling all of a sudden?

She wanted to ask what his favorite color was, but she decided against it. It wasn't a good idea to provoke him. "Forget it, see you on thu- see you on Wednesday!" She wanted to leave now, hoping, he wasn't impatient with her.

She jumped in her car and started it. Music started to play very loudly and her face turned red. She didn't like her rude behavior and turned the volume down.

"You know what Cell? You think I'm crazy, but I'm not! You don't know me!"

And she drove off at full speed.

Her heart beat loudly. Would he kill her now?

She didn't look behind her, nor use her mirrors.

...

Nothing.

That means he will kill her after his Tournament. What a future...
