YO! What's going on, my dear readers? Hope life has been treating you well!

To those of you that anticipated an update much earlier, I apologize for the wait. I really had to deal with college applications and decisions, which was a big cause of the wait.

Thank you to all of the readers that favorited, followed, and reviewed the fic. Also a major thanks to the ones that left me encouraging comments. It only fuels my motivation to continue the story.

Regarding one of the reviews, Issei loses his ability to think straight and remember things when he enters 'Rage Mode.' This also leads him to have the 'short-term memory loss' as the reader put it. It basically means that he trades in his rationality for greater strength basically. Hope that was a solid explanation. And Issei acts dumb sometimes due to how dense he could be at moments. Just because you aren't academically smart doesn't mean you can't learn multiple languages. I had a few friends in elementary school who failed their tests a lot yet they were fluent in both Spanish and English. There was even one girl that knew how to speak Portuguese, French, and English without any trouble!

And to the other reader that pointed out their confusion concerning the timeline, my bad. That's on me since I worded the thing weirdly. By 'other day', I meant the day before the Summer Break began. That's on me and once again, sorry about that.

Now about my updating schedule, there is a chance that it's gonna slow down from now on since I do have to prepare for college. However, I promise you that I am not dropping this story whatsoever.

There's some extra info on the Author's Note at the bottom so please do check that out.

Without further ado, let's get straight into chapter 5!

I do not own Highschool DXD. It is the property of Ichiei Ishibumi. I only own my OC and the plot.

The orange hue of the sky illuminated the entire town of Kuoh in the afternoon. Many residents exited their quarters at this time to either enjoy the scenery or fulfill tasks. Among them, a teen with dyed hair could be seen, whose reasoning was part of the latter. He held a cell phone in his ear as he kept talking without really paying attention to his surroundings. Those nearby the young man could identify the relationship between him and the person on the other side of the line due to how the teenager addressed them.

"Dad, when are you gonna leave for work?" the teenager, who was the current holder of the Boosted Gear, questioned.

"In about 10 minutes or so. Gotta get some coffee on the way too," his dad, known as Gorou Hyoudou, answered.

"By the way, mom said that you were thinking of getting a new car. Which model are you planning to get?" Issei replied.

"Not sure. But all I can tell you is that I'm planning to get an SUV. Tell you what? Show up here on your next long break with your mom and we could go to the dealer together," his dad suggested.

"Awesome! Will definitely think about it!" The male student of Kuoh Academy happily spoke.

"Now let's talk about you. How's school going? Are you getting good grades? Club affairs?" the excitement that Issei had waned down at the inquiry of his school life.

"Uhh… my English grade is one of the best among the students in my year. Japanese Literature is also pretty good. Other than that, my other grades are average. The only subject I get low grades on is Science. And regarding clubs, I am still on the soccer team. I wanted to quit and join another team but I'm going to practice right now to see if I am going to change my thoughts or not," he explained to his father.

"Hmm, I see. Listen, if you manage to get a B in Science, S in Japanese Literature, and A in the rest of your subjects the next time you get your report card, I'll buy you the new phone you've been wanting for some time," a greedy look appeared on Issei's face at his dad's statement.

"You got it! I'll work hard!" he claimed loudly into the phone.

"That's my boy. And one last thing, if you think you will be happier by leaving that team, do it. It doesn't matter if you receive the scrutiny of people for doing what makes you happy. Because at the end of the day, that's what matters the most," the older male advised his son in a fatherly tone.

"Thanks, dad. It means a lot," Issei smiled.

"Of course. You are my dear and only son after all. Listen, I have to get ready to leave now or I will be late for my job. Take care now, alright Issei?" Gorou gave his parting words.

"You too, dad! Talk to ya next time!" He returned the farewell before cutting off the call. He let out a sigh of happiness and continued on his way.

It didn't take him too long to reach his desired destination, which was a massive soccer (football) field (pitch). The team representing Kuoh Academy had permission to use the area for their team practice right now. As the first-year student entered the presence of the team, many stopped stretching and warming up to look at their best player. Some were already snickering and cracking up as they took note of the changes he made in his physical appearance. Hamada, who managed to keep a straight face this time, walked up to his junior.

"Yo, Hyoudou. Welcome back!" grinned the captain of the team. His grin disappeared as his greeting didn't receive a verbal response from Issei. He cleared his throat and then turned around to face the rest of the team that stood behind him.

"Oi! What did we talk about in the last practice?" yelled their leader. All of them broke out of their stupor and then approached the two in front of them. Issei, who was confused at their actions, squared up just in case something happened.

The group stopped at once and lined up horizontally. They waited for Hamada to position himself in the middle of the horizontal line. After that, all of them bowed in the direction of Issei.

"WE'RE SORRY!" all of them shouted at once. The receiver of the apology stood dumbfounded at their deed.

"We're extremely sorry, Hyoudou," one of them said.

"It was really shitty of us to treat you like that," another one followed.

"So please forgive us for our stupidity. First of all, we need to stick with each other like brothers and build our chemistry. Then we can talk about winning. We were dumb enough to forget that as a part of the team. So once again, please accept our apology and be a part of our team. We promise to do better," Hamada added lastly. The first year kept silent for a moment and thought about their words before he finally showed a reaction to their efforts. A feral smirk appeared on his face as he began to speak for the first time in their vicinity.

"Fine, I'll stay. Only on one condition though," the change of his aura and posture made many of the males gulp in apprehension.

"W-What is it?" inquired Hamada.

"I get to be the captain starting from now and you guys will have to complete the drills that I enforce," looks of fear appeared on all of them at his demand as many began to sweat. Their coach was on leave for a couple of months due to a family matter and Hamada was in charge of the team practice and drills. He only had his team do the drills that their coach left but Issei was a different case. There was no way that their team was physically capable of doing the monstrous training that Issei did.

"You'll be the captain! No problem with that! B-But… do we really have to change our assigned drills to the ones you prefer?" there was still a bit of hope left in the now-former team captain's eyes as he stared at the new team captain.

"Hmm… I heard that the Ducks have a spot left on their team. Maybe they need someone on their bench…" and the tiny bit of hope that Hamada had was gone at this statement.

"W-What are you talking about, Hyoudou? I'm just kidding! Of course, since you are the captain now, we'll follow only your commands until the coach is back! R-Right guys?" when he didn't hear any response from behind him, the senior turned around and sent a menacing look at all of them, managing to get his message across silently.

"WE'LL BE IN UNDER YOUR CARE FROM NOW ON, CAPTAIN!" the bunch, including Hamada, bowed toward the host of Ddraig once again. This time, their group effort was enough to satisfy the new captain to still be a part of the team.

The darkening sky in the town of Kuoh made it clear that nighttime was arriving soon. It's been a couple of hours since the team made their declaration to accept Issei as their new captain. With his new role, he got to work immediately. He made all of them sprint until either some of them fell to the ground in extreme exhaustion or puked. Those that slowed down on purpose received a hit of a ball to their backs or chests from Issei kicking a ball in their directions. He then made them complete all of the other physical warm-up practices but kicked up the notch on their intensity of them. At the end of the session, if one were to look at their current state, only one of them was standing up. The rest had fallen to the ground in complete fatigue.

"Good stuff today! Let's take it a step further at our next meeting!" Issei gathered his stuff and began walking out of the field (pitch). The ones that were able to hear his last comment internally sought mercy from any deity that existed.

"H-H-Hyoudou, y-you demon…" whispered the former team captain, which was surprisingly heard by the one it was addressed to even though he was almost out of the field (pitch) at this point.

The young male was pleased and content with the events that took place during the team practice. Now, he would be able to beat them into better shape and improve the roster physically. Plus he had control of the team until the coach was out. It meant that he would be able to call out the plays and formations and there'd be no disagreements hopefully. One of their main weaknesses was that not everyone would be on the same page during matches, which led many of them to make costly mistakes.

'Ahh. A cold drink would be perfect right now,' the thought in his mind.

[Hmph, wasn't that something? Still, I kind of feel bad for those humans,] Ddraig thought out loud in Issei's mind.

[Shut it, you geezer! You should be the last one saying stuff like that! Do you not remember what you put me through every time we do our 'training'? I'd say it's more like torture!] his calm mind suddenly became frustrated at the mythical being's words.

[You're much more capable than those vermins in terms of physicality. So you have to push yourself further than your physical aptitude to really become strong to protect yourself and face any danger that comes your way,] explained the Dragon.

[Tch, whatever. Pretty sure the only reason you're doing this is to go fight the 'white one' once you think I am strong enough,] Issei murmured back.

[Oh yes. I forgot to add that one. Thank you for reminding me.] Issei's eyes began twitching at the reply.

[Goddammit you geezer!] the teen mentally shouted back to the soul that rested in his body other than his own. Before he could add any more comments, his vision caught a girl of short stature in front of a crepe shop. Her slightly dejected pose, unique hairstyle, and regal purple dress were what managed to grab his attention.

"I told you, girlie! If you have no money, it means no crepe!" the vendor barked at her.

"You have my promise of getting paid double the price. Only that you have to be patient until the payment is brought to you by my brother," the girl tried to convince the man as the wind that breezed by made her blond drills sway.

"My patience is running thin because of you! I said GET OUT! NOW!" the seller was extremely pissed off at this point. It made some of the few strangers look in their direction due to how loud the vendor was. The short girl with blond hair also looked furious and before their altercation continued or went any further, Issei made his presence known between the two.

"Hello. What would you like to have?" the store owner asked the teen not so nicely due to his terrible mood.

"Hmm…Oi, munchkin, which one do you want?" the way he addressed the girl caught both of them off guard.

"H-H-How dare you address me in such a manner, you lowly human?!" she demanded in a threatening tone.

"Huh? Listen, I don't have any time for your Chunni delusions right now. Be grateful that I am helping you out here just because I felt bad. Hurry up or no crepe for you," Issei replied to the girl who stood still at what he said at the end.

"Ughhh! I-I-I w-want one with strawberry, ice cream, and banana!" she clenched her eyes shut and quickly rushed those words out as if she was saying them against her will.

"There you go. Wasn't that hard, was it? Ossan, you heard her," the teen said.

"Brat, you shouldn't be helping out spoiled kids like her. They need to be knocked down a peg or two for their own good in the future. But who am I to say what you should do? I'm only a seller that's looking for some profit here, after all," the man spoke without care, ignoring the look of annoyance on Ravel's face.

"I am not a child!" she claimed loudly. The man quickly prepared the crepe and was paid by Issei after the girl's shout. Issei then offered the crepe to the blonde girl, who reluctantly accepted it.

"Y-You have my gratitude for your actions. However, it doesn't mean you will be forgiven for your imbecility earlier!" the tiny girl commented.

"Jeez, are you one of the Tsundere types?" he shot back.

"Explain these strange terms you've been blabbering, human!" she ordered the male.

"Well, whatever. Hope you become normal by the time you hit high school or you'll really have a hard time. Take care until then," he rubbed the girl's head before walking out, leaving the girl who was unprepared for his last act flustered and angered.

"Ravel, Riser has finally- Oh, you already have one of those snacks?" a new voice steered the attention of the girl away from Issei, who was already way up ahead. The tall owner of the new voice had a black button-up shirt rolled up to his sleeves with the top of his shirt unbuttoned and a pair of black pants. His hair was short and colored the same as his little sister's.

"W-W-What caused this 'quick' visit of yours to warrant such a length of time, big brother!" Ravel's yell made the male jump up in surprise due to him not expecting this big of an outburst at all.

"Riser apologizes for his late arrival, dear sister for Riser had to attend to nature's calling before collecting some lowly human currency," Riser confessed.

"UGH! Well, my desire has been fulfilled without your aid or intercession. Although you have my thanks for your effort," grumbled the little sister.

"If you would entertain Riser, dear Ravel, how were you able to purchase this nourishment of the plebeians?" inquired the tall man.

"I-I-I, there were some funds within my possession that my mind had disgracefully forgotten about!" lied Ravel. Riser only raised his eyebrow at his sister's somewhat odd behavior.

"Whatever you say," he responded as his sister slowly began to nibble on the crepe.

[Brat, that was a devil, you know? Probably a Phenex from what my observations tell me,] The Red Dragon Emperor mentioned as his host kept walking to his house.

[Oh really? Cool, I guess] the teen stated his response nonchalantly.

[You're not surprised?] the question made Issei slightly slow down on his walk back home.

[Honestly, no. When I saw her outfit, her foreign features, and the way she talked, I kind of figured that she might be either a foreigner visiting Japan for the first time or someone from a family that's heavily involved in the Supernatural,] Ddraig's host described his reasoning behind him not being surprised.

[You know? Sometimes your analyzing skills heavily impress me. Other times, however, you choose to be a moronic dunce and ignore important details and observations during crucial moments,] the Dragon complemented and chastised its partner as Issei became aggravated once more.

[Oi! Why do you have to add an insult even when you say something that actually makes me feel good?!] Issei shouted back to the Dragon, mentally of course.

[It's not an insult. It's the truth you nincompoop,] The teenager suddenly stopped himself and stood alone in a block. The deadpanned expression on his face was enough to show how he felt about the word Ddraig uttered in English.

[...Literally, nobody uses nincompoop anymore,] the young male responded in a dry voice.

[Tch, whatever. It's my nap time anyway. I should go. Oh, before I leave, I want you to be careful around that feline in your house. Its aura feels too strange for a cat,] the Heavenly Dragon warned his host.

[Oh my god! How many times are you gonna say this? You really must be going senile! And stop thinking of dear Penalty as a threat. She's nothing but a furball of sweetness!] Issei remarked his counter in an exasperated tone.

[Senile, you say? Hmm…you need to be taught manners. Especially on how to address and interact with your superiors. Worry not, for I will make sure to make beat it into you with some EXTRA intense training tonight. Farewell,] Ddraig declared as the first-year student's skin began to pale in dread and horror.

[H-How can you intensify that unbearable torment you call 'training' even more?! I'm sorry, Ddraig-sama! Oi! OI! I SAID I'M SORRY! CAN YOU HEAR ME!?] he received his answer in form of the sound of snoring in his mind.

'Oh no! What have I done to deserve such a cruel fate?' Issei cried internally as he miserably made his way back home.

"So… how did the practice go yesterday?" Tsubasa asked as she walked alongside her friend. It was an early Friday morning as both of the students made their way toward Kuoh Academy.

"Went pretty good, not gonna lie. My ultimatum forced that dumbass Hamada to hand the captaincy over to me. Now that the team is fully under my control, at least until the coach is back, I'll be sure to run those good-for-nothings into the ground. And if they don't follow my orders, they'll be punished accordingly. Hehehe…" the way Issei giggled made his companion looks at him with worry.

"Dude, are you really okay?" she had to ask since Issei has been acting pretty weird and different since they met up in the morning. He was weird but his recent behavior was something that made the member of Sona's peerage concerned.

"Why wouldn't I be? Being punished isn't as bad as I thought at first. I mean… I'm used to it at this point. I don't think anything can get worse than the punishment I had last night," a look of confusion appeared on Tsubasa's face as she processed his cryptic message.

"Yeah, I don't think you're okay. You might wanna take the day off, man," she suggested to the teen, who instantly turned his head toward her and eyed her with a look of bafflement.

"What?! Skip school and miss being fed free food by Gremory-senpai or Himejima-senpai during lunch?!" he shouted as his eyes gained a wild look.

"You're hopeless, you damn simp," she sighed in disappointment. She could feed him too if he wanted. All he had to do was… ask. Now that thought made her face red, which was completely unnoticed by the 'not really okay' Issei.

"I'm not a simp! Just an opportunist!" he 'corrected' the blue-haired girl.

"With the way you've been acting since the morning, all masochistic and whatnot, Himejima-senpai would have a field day with you. Well, whatever. See ya later, I guess," Tsubasa waved before walking ahead of the young male and getting to the Student Council's office. It took him a moment to realize that the two had already reached the school grounds and process what she said before her farewell. Once he was done fully understanding that, he wanted to stop her so she could explain further about the dark-haired beauty 'having a field day' with him in his current state. However, it was too late as she already blended herself among the crowd of students.

With a sigh, the first-year student continued on his way toward his classroom. Some whispers regarding the rumor that Kiryuu helped spread made their way into his ears. Ever since his young age, his five senses were really good when he really focused on them. It was the same case with his dad. Maybe it ran in the family?

Issei suddenly stopped as one interesting piece of information was whispered between two females among the teenagers, one with short black hair and the other with long light brown hair. His unexpected halt caught the attention of the students around him. His head made a sharp turn in the direction of where he heard the whisper from. There were two girls, second or third years most likely, that stood frozen at his unforeseen notice of their conversation. With a menacing snarl, he stomped his way to the girls, who were so terrified that their legs won't move at all.

"Oi… wanna repeat what you just said?" his voice gained a deeper edge as he looked daggers at them.

"I-I-I m-mean-u-uhh-," the scared short-haired girl's stutter was interrupted by the male.

"Take the cock out of your fucking mouth and SPEAK! I WANNA HEAR WHAT YOU TWO JUST SAID! CLEARLY!" his volume and tenacity of his voice rose as he spoke. At the end of his demand, he grabbed the collars of their uniforms, each by a hand, and lifted them up.

"C'MON! SAY IT YOU FUCKING WHORES! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!" the surrounding students at this point were scared shitless of Issei at this point and had no courage to stand up to him.

"H-H-H-e-elp!" the long-haired girl this time managed to get those words out. Due to Issei losing himself to his rage, he failed to notice the two presences that were approaching him from the back. The sudden hold he felt on his body from four arms caused him to release the two girls and in the result of that, they dropped to the ground, panting as they tried to get their breathing under control.

"O-Oi, Issei!" Despite his weak physical attributes, Motohama called out to the enraged teen as he tried his best to keep his grip on Issei, who tried to get at the two girls yet again.

"Get a hold of yourself, you idiot!" Shouted Matsuda, who was faring much better than his friend even though the difficulty was clearly shown on his face.

"GET OFF OF ME YOU DAMN INSECTS!" Issei threw the two members of the 'Perverted Trio' off of him as they flew and their backs hit the lockers behind. Their backs connected with the lockers harshly, causing them to slide off and their bottoms hitting the floor of the hallway as they groaned in pain.

With that done, he turned his attention back to the girls from before. The two gained a look of dread on their faces yet again. He began walking in the direction of the two menacingly as he made his order clearer for them.

"WHAT WAS THAT ABOUT THE MANGA CLUB AND ME? SAY IT AGAIN YOU UGLY PIGS!" as Issei's arms neared the two girls, they closed their eyes in terror.

Before Issei could get to his two victims again, a pair of footsteps made themselves known to everyone as they quickly picked up their pace and rushed at Issei. The first-year male student turned to his right just before a pair of soles smashed themselves into Issei's face with incredible speed, making him turn left. He was then met with an uppercut, which made him fly into the air for a bit. As his body reached closer to the ground, the back of his head was met with an ax kick. Issei hit the floor face-first and after a few seconds, the attackers sighed in relief as he was confirmed to be knocked out.

"T-That was something," Tomoe Meguri, a member of Sona Sitri's peerage and one of the pair that kicked Issei's face, commented as she kept looking at the former brown-haired, now a person with bleached hair, lying unmoving on the ground.

"Well…tell me about it," chuckled the other kicker, Yuuto Kiba, who had to deal with an out-of-control Issei for the second time.

"You dumbass!" The one who managed to knock him out, Tsubasa, sighed as she flipped Issei's body over. Some small cuts on his face and a bleeding lip were apparent once she fully looked him over. Other than that, he seemed fine.

"Uggh. First week back into the school and he is already causing me a headache," Sona Sitri groaned as she suddenly appeared in the hallway and walked up to her fellow devils while grabbing her forehead, which proved her stress. Behind her was her assistant and Queen of her peerage, Tsubaki Shinra.

"Tsubasa, pick up the brute so we can carry him back to our office," ordered the strict second-year student.

"Yes, Kaichou!" the Rook of Sona's peerage lifted Issei's body with ease and threw him over her shoulder.

Everyone that was in the hallway was gawking at the scene in front of them. A bunch of the popular students managed to stop the beast that began to rampage. All of them were too stunned to offer any verbal reaction to the entire thing. Before anyone could do it, however, some unknown force buzzed into all of their heads and caused them to drop to the ground, fully unconscious.

"This is the second time something like this has occurred. What happened this time to make him go berserk? Anyways, we need to come up with a strategy to safely deal with this issue before it becomes a habit," Rias sighed as she brought her arm back down, indicating that she was the cause of every normal student becoming unconscious.

"Ufufu! I wonder what will happen if I get the chance to tame him," Akeno licked her lips at the end of her sentence. The rest of the conscious ones in the hallway stared at Rias' Queen in a deadpanned manner save for the blonde male, who just chuckled nervously. Unbeknownst to the group of devils, there was another being that had witnessed the entire fiasco.

['What have I done to deserve such a cruel fate!?'] The Welsh Dragon copied the sentence of his host from the day before as he looked at Issei's current predicament with distress.

Author's Note:

Hope you guys enjoyed the chapter!

The reason Issei stayed on the team is that now that he has full control of the squad, he can train them the way he wants, which will prepare them better physically and help the chances of his team winning. And the others gave in since they want to win as much as Issei does.

Even if Issei is dense and his actions show that he is a fool most of the time, he can easily calculate when he chooses to pay attention to his surroundings to help him make a theory about something.

Ddraig does know that something is off about Issei's cat and continuously tries to warn him. However, since Ddraig manages to forget that he already warned Issei and reiterates his concern again, this leads to him not taking his words seriously. Also, the fact that he completely adores Penalty doesn't help either.

Issei seemed weird in the morning on his walk to school with Tsubasa since Ddraig increased the level of the toughness of Issei's training within his mindscape and it made him feel out of it.

Some of you probably already figured out why Issei went out of control at the end.
