Okay, now Jazz was freaking out. She had given up on trying to call her brother after the twenty-seven voicemails she left on his phone. If he hadn't picked anything up so far, he was definitely not going to be looking at his phone anytime soon.

She sighed deeply. She had only fallen asleep once despite her determination to keep awake and stare at her phone, only barely fighting the urge to run out into Gotham on a hunt for her brother. But even she knew that going around Gotham at night was practically signing your life away the moment you stepped outside of the hotel.

She had only closed her eyes for a second, and she had managed to get three hours of sleep. She awoke in a panic, immediately reached down and checked her phone, reading through everything and trying to make sure that Danny hadn't somehow messaged her saying something like "Hey, sorry, got lost with some ghost friends." Or even, "Got in a fight with Skulker, only lost an arm this time." Just anything!

She sighed deeply. Her heart was racing and a feeling of tension coiled in her throat. One quick glance around the room revealed that her parents had already left for the convention. It wasn't that far, really — it was only down the block from the hotel they were staying at.

Her fingers tapped absently on her phone case. What could she do? She has no other way to contact him other than to track him down. And even then that won't be a very good idea without backup. Sure she has the 'boo'merang which was keyed onto Danny's ecto-signature at all times. But she wasn't sure she could keep up with it, especially when that thing decides to book it practically in a straight line and doesn't follow any roads.

Maybe she could try and hire Skulker to track Danny down. Though it was a little extreme, it would work. Skulker is an honorable ghost. He would track Danny down and if he was hurt, help him, and bring him back to heal so that he could kill Danny when he is at full strength. He valued a fair hunt. And if Danny was perfectly fine, they would fight, and it was more likely that Danny would win, even with a few scapes. So given the fifty-fifty, and then the second fifty-fifty of the fight, Danny would have almost a seventy-five percent chance of being okay.

She was thinking too far into this. She hung her head down. Was there any ghost that Danny would know in Gotham? Sure, Johnny and Kitty both lived and died in Gotham, but they don't hang around their old home much.

Ancients! What the hell was she supposed to do? With all of the ghost hunters around, he could be in a lab right now. He could be part of the ghost hunting show in a mixture of jars. She could go down there and find that her parents now have a brand new biopsy of her little brother on display and that was all because she couldn't find him! Or maybe…

Her phone rang and it startled her so badly that she almost tossed it out of her lap before grabbing onto it tightly. She looked at the caller ID for a second, only to have her heart sink slightly. It wasn't Danny, but it was someone who could help her.

"Sam." Jazz started, her voice still sounding panicked.

Sam cut through immediately. "Ancients Jazz, what warrants you to try and call me fourteen times! I put my phone down for five hours."

"Danny's gone missing."

"Oh, is that all?" She said nonchalantly. Jazz was about to argue back. Before Sam continued. "Jazz, Danny is not exactly the most reliable when it comes to keeping up with people on where he is. He went missing for at least a week once when he went into the zone and got into a fight and didn't tell us. He has been to prison for multiple days at a time and hadn't been able to call us," Sam explained. Though, luckily, it didn't sound like she was trying to be condescending to Jazz. More like calming, trying to stop Jazz from spiraling and freaking out by giving her examples of where Danny came back okay.

Jazz bit her lip. "But Danny is missing in Gotham, which is full of ghost hunters at the moment because of the convention. And he left in a bad mood. He had just been in the family assault vehicle with our parents for the entire trip. I tried to help him not focus on it, but it didn't work. He was hurt and inwardly freaking out and he didn't want to talk to me. And then he flew off and…"

"Jazz!" Sam's voice cracked over the speaker. "Breathe."

Jazz tried to take a deep breath, but it came out more hitched than anything as her throat caught on the air. She knew how to calm herself down. She had coached Danny through a panic attack multiple times, so why was she freaking out so much now? She needed to be calm and collected if she was going to find Danny before something bad happens to him.

"Jazz, just breathe. Maybe his phone died. Or he was on the top of a building and fell asleep, or a ghost cat stole his phone and he has been trying to find it ever since. It could be dozens of things. Danny knows how to take care of himself against both ghosts and humans. We don't know, but he is tough. Not much can keep him down at this point besides his obsession." Sam tried to reassure her.

Jazz sighed and hung her head in her hands. "You're right. I need to have more faith in him. But I'm still worried — I'm terrified, actually. If he dies again… if it's my fault for not keeping him safe. When he died… Oh god, Sam, I didn't even know he died for three months. What kind of a sister is that? I didn't even notice my brother died in the basement below me all because I was too busy focusing on my studying."

"Jazz, it's okay. We'll find him, I'm sure he is okay. It's daytime now, right? How about you go look for him? Or go around the ghost convention to see if any of them have mentioned seeing the elusive Phantom anywhere. But be secretive about it. I'll see what I can find over here with Tucker."

Jazz nodded for no one but herself to see. "Okay, text me if you find anything."

"Same for you. Stay safe." And the call ended. Jazz pinched her brow and leaned back in the chair she was sitting on. Time to do some investigating.

)-(

Dick walked down the streets of Gotham alone. His hood was up over his head to hide his face from prying eyes, hoping that most people wouldn't recognize that Dick Grayson, the first son of the richest man in Gotham, wasn't walking through the streets of Crime Alley. That would cause all kinds of trouble he doesn't want.

Even though it was daytime, the air around still carried that dark gloomy haze around. It especially seemed to stick more around Crime Alley than any other place. Dick hadn't been in Crime Alley much. Jason, or should he say the Red Hood, had made it very clear that none of the bats were allowed down here.

Dick sighed as he kicked a pebble down the sidewalk. Sure, he had a better chance of talking sense into Jason than anyone else in the family, well, except maybe Alfred, but that doesn't mean that Jason even wanted to talk to him. Dick could show up and immediately have the door slammed in his face.

But recently, he had been able to talk with Hood more. Sure it had been just inside his territory, but they had a good conversation. One that didn't end in a fight, or a threat. One that gave Dick a little more hope that he could have his brother fully back with him, where they could work on cases together when Nightwing was in Gotham. Maybe he could even come in to hang out with the family.

Though, there were still lots of things that they would need to work on. Jason trying to kill Tim in Titans' Tower hurt everyone. Dick knew that Tim still had nightmares from that. That it still affects him. He saw how Tim tensed on the very few times that Jason came in to help out on a large-scale Arkham breakout. He also knew that Jason regretted hurting Tim, and that he wasn't in his right mind when he did that. But he also knows that with the pit… It could happen again.

Dick looked down at his phone at the second address of a safe house. The first one he tried was abandoned: only a singular med kit, couch, and mattress, as well as some spare ammo and weapons. Nothing too drastic. But Jason clearly hadn't been there in a long time.

So he was on to the next place. This one would be considerably nicer. Well, as nice as you could get for cheap rent in Crime Alley. He passed by a mother holding her kid, probably about four years old, by the arm. Glancing nervously at Dick, she walked a small circle around him. Dick would have felt slightly hurt if it weren't for the fact that he was walking through the most crime-ridden place in Gotham with his hood up and his face covered in shadow.

He was just underneath the safe house when his eyes caught something. In the alleyway next to the apartment building was a bike with a tarp thrown over it. Dick slowly walked into the alley and pulled up the corner of the tarp revealing the motorbike that was definitely Jason's. He recognized the red bat spray painted on the front of the bike and the bullet holes in the outer casing. Jason was here.

He quickly glanced up to see the window that would lead to Jason's apartment number. His eyes trailed over to the fire escape. If he went in through the window, there was a chance he would be met with a shoot first ask questions later situation. But if he went to the door, people would see someone clearly going into the apartment, and the fact that Jason could easily just not let him in or even open the door to talk to him… He'll chance the bullets. Window it is.

Dick jumped up and gripped onto the side of the fire escape, pulling himself up. No one was looking into the alleyway, and honestly, here they wouldn't even care if they saw Dick breaking into the apartment. It only took him a few seconds to make it to the right window. This one should lead straight to the main room of his apartment.

He couldn't see through the window because the blinds were covering it. Dick took in a deep breath before opening the window silently and stepping into the apartment. Before he even raised his head to look up, he heard the cock of a gun. He froze in place, and Jason's voice spoke. "What do you want, Dickface?"
